Zesto of West Columbia

Called my order in. The young man told me 15 min after we verified tge order. When I came In to pick up my order, it was not ready. Then one of the meals was incorrect. I waited for that.then recieved my drinks after waiting another 8 minutes. Finally, I received my order and left. I get home and settled ready to eat. I open my box and look at my chicken and was like WOWWWWWW! U said to myself, "WOOOWWWWWW". "THIS HOW YOU DO ZESTOS? " My chicken leg
looked looked as if someone ate off of it. It wasn't right! Presentation is everything and to open my box and see THIS, I was truly disappointed.especially coming from a well known southern spot. SMH.

Zesto of West Columbia has always had the best chicken! Dine in and their service is superb. Take out and the chicken will make you so hungry on the ride there may be some missing before you reach your destination. You can't go wrong here.

Reminiscent of a bygone era. Got a slaw dog and a butterscotch milkshake. Not the absolute best but very tasty.

I've been here several times and my go-to has become the wing basket with a large sweet tea. When you go in you kind of have to figure out which window to order at since people who have already ordered don't necessarily step back to wait for their food. If you are dining in, you place your order and then go outside and reenter the dining room through another door. They will bring your food to you. There are always lots of employees who are all friendly enough to rival Chick-fil-A

The chicken and the dipped cones are the only thing that they know how to make, the coastlaw has to much mayo.it tasts like salt is in every thing, but crispy chicken Is good.

Tried a hot dog basket. Not the best I've ever had & too expensive. Disappointed after hearing it was so good.

The BEST chicken in South Carolina! Hands down! I love everything they have on the menu. I don't eat cole slaw but the rest of my family say it's the BEST slaw they have ever eaten. If you want to taste awesome flavor's, GO TO ZESTO'S!

My first trip, took a bit to understand the process of ordering and the menu. Still unaware of where to actually eat, I thought it was carry out only. The customers were friendly and help us to order our food.
The person who took our order was also friendly, when she asked if we were dining or to go I was shocked to learn they had a dining area and our waitress would bring us our food, after she explained we had to go outside and reenter another door for dining.
I had a chicken breast with fries, my wife had chicken strips, fries and slaw.
The breast was outstanding, the slaw tasted like old fashioned slaw and was good also. Don't get the strips, frozen like any other fast food joint. Stick with real chicken parts.
This will become a regular stop when in Columbia, SC.
Never would have heard about Zesto's but for a new friend who grew up in West Columbia -Cayce, SC.

Impossible to get hot food to go from here. You can order from the parking lot and still get cold fries.

Not worth it.

I'll got one awesome worker there every time I go there she treats me like a king and she's one beautiful and awesome person and she serves well as Zesto's

Used to go here in the 70's while in college. They're just as good now. Do miss the Greek food they used to serve.

Zestos has amazing chicken and great service! They are always busy, but still courteous and your order is always ready in a reasonable amount of time

We were coming through the area from a minu vacation, and decided to check out some of the stores in the area. We stopped here after seeing it on one of the billboards nearby.
The outside of it was pretty cute with the huge ice cream cone!
The only reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is because of the setup. We aren't from the area and weren't really sure how it worked. We had to ask, because we had no idea if we were supposed to wait there, or where to set, etc. We didn't know there were three different sections and they bring your food. They acted kinda funny about it like we should know, but being from out of town and even state we didn't.
Other than that, it was pretty good. The burger, fries, chicken, and ice cream. We would probably eat there again. It almost reminds you of an older dairy queen. It was definitely nice though!

Was okay. Food was fresh and tasty.
For 2 adults and a child it was $34. Coleslaw was crazy overloaded with mayo. Don't go often but will be back.

Okay experience, price wasn't bad but the food was very average. I much prefer coming here for their quality milkshakes than their actual dinner.

We came here for dinner before the Boo at the Zoo. It was our first visit to Zesto. It was fabulous. Food was plentiful and very tasty. Service was top notch. Friendly staff.

Took our four year old grandson there. We are lunch there. It was busy. Fast service. Place was very clean. Our grandson loved the chocolate cone outside that was on top of the building.

Best fried chicken you'll ever have. Also the soft serve ice cream is fantastic and smooth. Grew up going here as a kid and always a treat when I return to the area.

I went in there with my two sons excited to be there and share the experience with them. They were punctual with everyone else and then when I approached to have my order taken, everyone was sooo busy. One guy who clearly was not doing anything just looked at us and clearly was not going to wait on us. So I just stood there and the other customers clearly were able to see what was happening. When other customers started to come in, that's when he came up to the counter and said, "May I help whose next. " This was my second time going there. The first time was good. If my kids weren't excited about eating there l would have left. I don't like to bring up the race stuff, but I couldn't help but to feel that way. I literally felt invisible that day and when other people of the opposite race noticed it an acknowledge it, I know I wasn't going off the deep end. The guy end up trying to be nice at the end, maybe because I killed him with to much kindness. I couldn't let my boys see me stoop to low levels of ugliness and I wouldn't give them the satisfaction of being the stereotype they expected of me. I won't be going back.

Some of the best chicken in town! Quick fast and friendly service! Always delightful and fun to go here!

I have been coming here every since I was a little girl. The ice cream is delicious. In fact everything on the menu is delicious. You can never go wrong with Zestos!

Food is always perfect year after year. They hire many employees to keep the orders moving quickly. It looks like chaos from the outside looking in, but they have never messed up my order in my almost two decades as a customer.

Terrible customer service! Next please, next please! The food is always hot and fresh! So I guess you can be cold, robotic, and rushy when you have an in demand product!

Food was delicious. They were busy, and it didn't take long at all to get our food. We got the cheeseburger baskets.

First time here, and it was amazing! 100% lives up to all the HYPE. It was so good, and the staff was so nice! Food came out quick, and the price was great!
Don't even get me started on the ice cream deserts! I've never had a hot fudge sundae.so I gave it a try and it was delicious!

The best chicken and cole slaw in West Columbia. If you live here, you probably have eaten at this area icon, but if you are visiting.this is a must try

Food was good! Best fried chicken in town! Service was a little slow that day! But over all great! Got the 4 piece dinner! Breast, leg, thigh, and wing! Yes coleslaw and fries! No problems here!

Good service, good food. The best fried chicken I've had anywhere. I've been eating here since I was a kid and have never been disappointed. As far as price, you get what you pay for. I can spend the same money at comparable restaurants still won't get the consistency of Zestos. Keep up the great work! Be sure to save room for their soft serve ice cream or milkshake!

DELICIOUS My husband and I visited here for the first time and enjoyed every scoop of the ice cream sundaes we ordered. As you see from the pics, we ordered a Strawberry Shortcake and Hot Fudge Brownie Sundae. The service was incredible and gave a very true southern hospitality feel. We will definitely visit here again.

We searched for a cool family place to eat while visiting Columbia, and Zesto did not disappoint! It's a cool little burger shack style place, the staff was absolutely amazing and so was the food. We had the burgers and fries as well as some soft serve. I have not one bad thing to say it was a great experience!

If you are from Cayce, West Columbia you know Gus's best chicken in the world. Had to come home from NC just to get some chicken. And don't forget Zesto burger, hotdogs. You just can not go wrong with Gus's.

The chicken with season just right it was hot and crispy so was my fries I don't eat coleslaw but my husband said they were a little salty they usually don't make it salty so he does so they close all the today was kind of off but other than that it was really good

The food is always on point and the customer service is as well. They are always busy but doesn't take them long to get your food to you.

Food quality below average, fried chicken was salty, cheeseburger was not good. However, they have great ice cream. Today was my first and last time.

Heard it was the best chicken around. I don't agree at all. Kinda dry and extremely bland. The slaw had a strange saltiness that really put me off. The french fries were typical fries, but nice and hot.

Service was outstanding, staff is extremely friendly and helpful and NUMEROUS so your order is taken as soon as you walk in the door. I'll give it another try at some point because I keep hearing it's so great.maybe I just hit an off day?

Their chicken is always hot and fresh. Ordering and paying is simple. Their customer service is excellent! I would avoid the chicken tenders unless you are ordering them for children. We eat here frequently. The photo is my friend from Houston. She really enjoyed the chicken too!

Chocolate dipped soft serve was as good as I remember it being and twice as messy. Go with the small unless your sharing it or know what you're getting.

Fast service as usual and perfect fried chicken! I want to commend the older lady cleaning tables this afternoon because she was so friendly and helpful in assisting me order ice cream from the "back door" as she called it. Thank you whoever you are. You deserve recognition. David Asbill.

Place was real busy like it was good. Got my order wrong after repeating myself multiple times about what I wanted: hot dog with ketchup, mustard, and chili only. Got a hot dog smothered in onions, no ketchup, chili, and mustard. Hot fudge sundae was average and fries were heavily-salted chunks of potato. Nothing impressive here.

Everything I've had at Zesto has been very good: hamburgers, fried chicken, hot dogs, grilled cheese, and especially their vanilla ice cream comes dipped in chocolate. Casual dining or take-out, quick, friendly staff, nice atmosphere, good variety, and good prices.

The fastest of the fastest fast food restaurants. The service at this location is amazing. No matter how busy they are, you are greeted promptly and your food is cooked to order. The food comes out very fast and accurate. Amazing team work!

Cheeseburger was good.
Went for a Banana Split with out Strawberry and with out Pineapple but add hot fudge. Simple enough. They wouldn’t do it. Even after asking a manager and asking other employees.
So I bought a banana split hold the strawberry and hold the pineapple and bought a hot fudge sundae and added it to my banana split.
I guess everything is good until you ask them to hold the pickle, then confusion sets in. This isn’t Burger King “you don’t get it your way”.
$17 later. Not impressed.

Called and ordered because I was in a rush. Got there nobody wrote the order down or put the order in. Guy tried to help was very nice. Then once I got my food. The legs were so small all four together didn't equal two.

Loved this place. Great friendly staff, food was really good and affordable. Best strawberry shake I've had in a long time. Will definitely be going back.

Has to be the best fried chicken we have EVER had. Consistently amazing. Great ice cream treats, but be ware. They like their recipes. Any exercise in trying to get a topping changes on ice cream may be an exercise in futility. That's how they keep things humming along behind the counters. Super quick service! Always make it a point to stop here where we are in town.

The ice cream was really good but everything else I had was not anything special. Didn’t like the coleslaw at all. The burger was pretty plain and the fries are not seasoned

Service is acceptable, prices are comparable to fast food places like sonic. I had a cheeseburger, it was ok. Their chocolate dipped cones are disappointing to me. The chocolate she'll isn't hard enough for my liking.

Overall an ok experience. It's sort of a local land mark and hot spot, so I understand why it gets so much praise.

Zesto of West Columbia is the only place I can get a dipped cone, and it's the only place that I would go. The staff is always friendly and efficient, and the wait time, even when busy, has never been very long when I've gone.

Anytime my husband and I head towards Columbia, we often take a quick stop by.:)

Tenders not worth it! Tenders tasted like they got it out the display window because they ran out. I rather eat my finger nails than make another purchase there. Customer service was pretty good though so that’s great. Fries were warm but tasted frozen at the same time. It was a lot going on so be careful good people.

Zestos is always good. The service is always good the people are always friendly and the food is always the best.nice people Gus you have a wonderful crew.

I have been a loyal customer of Zesto's since the early 1970s It has been a great place to eat and even though the prices have been going up the past few years, I didn't mind paying it because the food and the service was so good. My wife and I ate there today, she got the chicken snack and I got a hamburger basket with two drinks. The service was still excellent as always, but the hamburger that was in my basket was pitiful. The pattie was so thin I could hardly see it. The whole burger was a mess. It looked like a lettuce sandwich with a thin layer of meat and it was so thin that it was in two pieces. Pete, you can do better than this, you know you can, just ask Gus. $19.00 is a bit much for what we got to eat.
