Urban Nirvana- North Charleston

I just want to say that Nicole Lehmann Took extreme care with me. She was gentle and nice. The other girls. I would never book an appointment with them or talk to them. They were nasty there. They were even nasty to her. I hope the owner talks to the other girls. Because when you have a good employee like Nicole, you don't get rid of them. You get rid of the bad. If I go back and she's not there. I'm not going back and I spent a lot. Of money in that store. I'm not afraid to spend money.

I moved back here to North Charleston this past summer and I loved this spa before and still now:)

Nicole is the sweetest spa technician and she deserves a 10/10

If you have curly hair, I 100% recommend this place! I’ve always struggled with finding a hair salon that knew what they were doing with my curls. But I promise you that you will be leaving this salon so renewed and confident! Julie did my hair and she was absolutely amazing a so sweet. I asked for layers and texture for my hair and Julie gave me exactly that but even better.:) They gave me advice on how to take care of my curls and even recommend the curl manifesto curl line to me! It changed my curl game for sure.

Becca is amazing she always puts in extra effort and ensures I’m happy with my hair before I leave!

Sent my girlfriend here for her birthday and she was treated very well. Everyone was very polite and professional, and she reported a caring environment that was incredibly relaxing! I will be sending her back soon for another massage, thank you all so much!

My fiancée and I have both gotten amazing massages here and we thought we enjoyed it but I booked a hair appointment for a Saturday, I received text messages about my hair cut and was told what I wanted wasn’t the same appointment I booked. I would’ve preferred a phone call to explain why the appointment is considered different but fine. Then the Saturday of my appointment I had to go to the hospital where I found out I had pneumonia, I didn’t call the salon or anything which is my fault, but I was sick and nearly forgot about the appointment except for the $113 charge on my card. When I called the salon they told me that appointments need to be cancelled 24 hours before otherwise the full cost of the appointment will be charged because the stylist lost the commission. I understand that, they need to get paid but stylists don’t get 100% of what the appointment costs, I understand like a $50 fee maybe but now I’m out $113 for something I could not control, and I can’t get my hair done at all because that was my budget for my haircut. I will never go here again or recommend it because of this one experience, there are many salons and massage places in Charleston and I will spend my time looking for a new one.

I had an amazing massage with Karen today! Not only was she wonderful and highly skilled but she left me better than when I walked in. I have suffered with neck pain for a long time and left pain free today! She even made my headache go away. She listened to my concerns and made me feel comfortable and relaxed! I already booked another appointment with her ️ I would recommend her to anyone looking for a wonderful experience!

Birthday massages are the best! Karen worked out all of my sore spots and I left feeling like a better version of myself. I always enjoy when I have the chance to go here.

I have been going to this location for the past 6 months. The location was great for me. I enjoyed the young lady who provided my service. I would schedule my next appointment when I check out. I had a 6 week appointment scheduled. I confirmed it the day prior and received a follow up text that there was a schedule conflict and I needed to come in later. I called because I was unable to come in later. I was informed that another customer's service would take longer and I could have someone else do it or I could come another day. The day was not conducive to my schedule. I felt like my service was not as important as the other customer's service. (I finally made the decision to receive a service that was a difficult decision to make and I'm being told that the technician I scheduled with 6 weeks ago is unavailable and I can use someone else). I felt very unvalued as a customer and no kind of consideration was taken as to just have someone else provide a service that was scheduled 6 weeks out. Needless to say, I was able to schedule an appointment with another business that was that evening and was thoroughly pleased. The drive is further but the customer service was so wonderful. It all worked out because the new business I went to is moving nearby within 3 months. Even though Urban Nirvana is closer, I'd take the extra 3 minutes or so drive to a business that made me and my time feel valued.
(Part of self care when you use a business like Urban Nirvana, would be good customer service). My feelings were hurt and I need to take my credit card off file.

Just walking in the door will start lowering your tension. Even if you don't need a haircut see Stephanie for a wash and blow out.so relaxing

Ty cheveux did an Amazing job on my mothers hair she went from blonde to a grey I sh platinum exceeded my expectations as a very judge daughter who WILL hurt a persons feelings if it’s not exactly what I asked for AND I LOVE IT great listener great stylist over the best hair stylist I’ve ever seen.

I had a wonderful experience with having my hair cut & colored (balayage) with Ty. He was extremely attention-detailed, thorough and caring about his work. Ty also was very personable, helpful & easy to be around. The combination of the passion for his work & clients was evident in the great work he's done! The salon itself was very clean & comfortable and the front desk staff was friendly. All in all, it is worth every bit of the 5-star rating!

OMG! TY IS A HAIR GOD! My hair was a mess. I had about 12 different colors in my hair. He took his time and made sure that I walked out of that salon looking fabulous! I don't care how long it takes to do my very long and thick hair, I will sit there all day to have my hair look this great! My hair looks the best it's ever looked!

Tiffany is incredible. She really goes the extra mile and is phenomenal with facials. She is gentle, knowledgeable and extremely friendly. Highly recommend!

I cannot recommend this place enough! Ty is absolutely fabulous! I immediately felt comfortable with him and, after a short conversation about my lifestyle and hair history, felt totally confident to trust his decisions about what to do with my hair. I left extremely pleased and just returned today (TEN WEEKS later) for maintenance on my color.

Amber is also spectacular and worked her magic on my brows.

The entire staff at the North Charleston location is super friendly and their COVID protocols really impressed me.

Can't recommend Urban Nirvana enough. Ty was friendly and professional, and he gave me a great new look. The rest of the staff were friendly as well and the spa has a comfortable atmosphere. What more could you ask for?

Wonderful experience and excellent service! Needed a last minute cut and Becca did a wonderful job with my hair, from wash to cut to dry. My hair has never felt so smooth!

Best salon experience I've had in a while! Jenna Marsey is a true master of her craft - color, cut, and blowout - absolutely amazing! Entire staff was very friendly and personable! I've been to a few different salons since I moved to Charleston and I've always been happy with the results - but I feel like I have finally found my spot and my girl to see on a regular basis

Went in, got my eyebrows waxed, extremely thorough. Even had me sit up, touched up a lot, paid very good attention to detail, I am impressed and happy at both the price and quality.

Update: I'm high maintenance af with my hair. Oh my god, Jenna did such a great job. Had me laughing in the chair the whole time and did an amazing job, great atmosphere.

I don't normally post reviews, which is ironic because I rely on them so heavily when trying to find the best places to go to, but I had to post this. Had a facial with Tiffany and it was phenomenal! I feel like I went on vacation for an hour and half! It was a fantastic experience and Tiffany was professional and knowledgeable in her technique. Would definitely recommend

Love Urban - Shauna does a fantastic massage and Nadia is a fantastic hair stylist. All the staff are friendly and the facility is very nice.

A work of art massages! Highly recommend for a day treatment, I love going back to this place with amazing staff and you're treated like an actual person, not a number!

Just moved here from NYC and was anxious to begin with about trying a new hair salon since I had been to the same place my entire life. My stylist was very nice and did a good job with my haircuts and highlights (although it took 4 hours just for partial) the one star rating is for the other hair dresser who offered unsolicited advice and verbal attacked me to the point of where I was in tears and said I would like to leave. I had asked if there was a way they could not use bleach to lighten my hair and the hair dresser belitted me, spoke in a condescending manner, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, was actually dead wrong in what she was saying. It IS possible to lift hair color without bleach using hilift color, verified by both my former hairdresser and the one I had today. As a medical professional i would NEVER treat my patients the way I was treated today and as a result will not be returning to them. It’s a shame because while I wasn’t disappointed with the quality, nothing is worth someone being rude to you when you are a paying customer.

First time and NOT my last! Came in for a couples massage that I booked the day before. We were booked with Ariel and Alyna. All staff memebrs were professional from start to finsh! Excellent personalities and great sense of humor. A bit pricey. But you get what you pay for. I will definitely be back.
