We called on a whime and asked if they could seat 14 asap, and they said come on! They were short staffed but we couldn’t even tell. Food came out quick, drinks stayed filled, waitress was great. Not to mention a great atmosphere. Will go again and again!
Excellent Not only way the service excellent but so was the food. When you come in it looks like an unusual “easy food” restaurant But it’s not! It may have paper napkins but there are real flowers at everyone’s table. The waitress was honest and personable. She wasn’t afraid to bend over backwards for great service and great food suggestions. AND everyone who comes in gets complementary hash browns! The food was excellent and ALL homemade! It is definitely delicious and I can’t wait To come back.
Ate here for the first time last night and already can't wait to come back and try something else on the menu. Destiny did a great job taking care of us and the food was delicious.
Food was very good. Atmosphere was fair - busy and loud and very rushed. Service was horrible. Apparently our waitress quit right after taking our order. We didn’t know this of course so we sat waiting for an hour. Finally asked what was up with our meals and then a new waitress took over. She brought food but no utensils. Not her fault she was doing extra work. It was not a fun evening after a 350 mile drive. Spent nearly two hours there.
I haven't been here but reading the bad reviews.thanks because if it's multiple people saying the same complaint. They aren't lying. I value my money. Thanks reviewers for all you do! I will not waste my time.
Just want to say that it is sad and frustrating when we know that former employees are posting bad reviews and there’s nothing we can do about it.
All we can do is ask that you come and try us and form your own opinion. If there is something you are not satisfied or have any issues while you are our guest PLEASE ask to speak with the manager. She will do everything she can to make your visit with us a pleasant one.
While journeying back to Florida from a North Carolina Jiu-Jitsu competition, we discovered a culinary gem in the form of Santee Steak and Seafood. The meal we savored felt masterfully executed, basking in rich flavors and cooked to perfection. Remarkably, not a single dish at our table fell short of our high expectations.
It was evident that the staff poured their hearts into their work, mirroring the quality of food with their astounding service. They made us feel genuinely welcomed, fostering a friendly and congenial atmosphere throughout our visit.
Our waitress, K, deserves a applause for her unparalleled service. Attentive to our needs at all times, her infectious laughter played a charming symphony that resonated with our spirits. Complementing her effort was Destiny, yet another fantastic waitress who aided in delivering our plates of deliciousness. Their teamwork genuinely amplified our overall dining experience.
An added sweet treat was the ice cream shop incorporated within the restaurant premises itself. A dollop of their sumptuous ice cream was the perfect cherry on top of an already splendid meal!
In essence, Santee Steak and Seafood was indeed a delightful find on our travel laden path, offering exceptional food, matched with equally exceptional service.
We have stopped in Santee as the halfway point between home and Marco Island Florida for the last couple of years. Tried this place this time. Do not try. We arrived at about 6. We were seated at the bar. Took about a half hour for our drink order than another 15 minutes for delivery. We told the server our order immediately. Abou 45 minutes later I asked the server about our entrees. She apologized and came back to say the they were out of what I ordered an hour before a d my friends burger would be ready. So I ordered a burger. I asked for it rare. The order came out 5 minutes later. I like rare. I do not like raw. Burger raw. One birder had fries the other didn’t. One had cheese, the other didn’t. Horrendous.
My sister and I enjoyed a delicious meal at Santees steak and seafood and then went over to the ice cream bar where Tamira was so sweet! Highly recommend for dinner and dessert!
Great restaurant, very welcoming waitresses, delicious and hearty meal, go ahead. We are a French family passing through and do not regret stopping here
Do not visit this place! We waited for ever to be served tonight. Ordered the seafood platter and Flounder platter. Flounder was okay, the seafood platter was a basket. Charged for the platter, we complained to several of the staff and got the runaround. I finally got to talk to the owner, she said she would take care of it so I gave her the ticket to address. It came back with the same price. At this point it was not worth the trouble. Our friends had the same problem. For just a few dollars we will never return, I will be doing my part to to make sure no one else makes the mistake of going to this establishment.
Had pizza and it was the worst I have ever had. The sauce had sugar in it and tasted awful and the crust was leathery with no crunch and no taste. Very sorry experience.
My wife and I had a wonderful dinner. The food was solid and the wait staff was very attentive. Edgar was our waiter, and he is truly the gold standard. Don’t pass on the delicious desserts. In my experience, it’s the best restaurant in Santee. We have eaten at the establishment three times. Steve & Tina
Nice hostess. Seating was available while I waited. I got the low country boil and the seasoning wasn't the best but edible. The corn on cob was way overcooked. I would got back and try something different.
Was a long, disorganized wait. The food wasn't bad, but the flavors were a bit off. For instance, the potatoes tasted like the sausages. Also, was our waiters first night waiting and the place was packed. Will try again in a couple months to see if it improves.
All I can say is they need to have a front of house person to take names for the wait. Not the servers! We were a party of 2, gave our name to a server, waited 15 minutes. Then a party of 3 walked in and a different server took them and seated them. We walked out.
Grilled seafood absolutely delicious! Filet mignon very tender.sides asparagus and broccoli yum! Waiter found out it was our 1st date and he brought 2 heart shaped pieces of chocolate candy for us.
Food tastes like it was bought frozen then microwaved at the restaurant. Pizza did NOT taste like it was cooked in a “wood fire oven. ” Pizza was doughy and undercooked. Everyone at the table agreed. From pizza to the burger to the shrimp. Don’t be fooled by the fancy sign. Our drinks were in cans or came from 2 liter bottles. Wings weren’t bad. Would never come back here.
As a Columbia local it would be nice to have a unique family run place like this where we live!
We have been working in santee for the past few months, my wife rages about where the food came from when I bring leftovers!
As I noticed some negative reviews, I would read past negative people and experience it for your self.
It’s a big step up from Mexican joint across the street that has a typical Mexican environment with a staff of people that are rude and act like they work at the Taj Mahal….
The food here was surprisingly good.we dined here because it was close to our hotel, and we wanted something that wasnt fast food.we ordered everything from steak, scallops, shrimp, lobster, and oysters, and it all was good.dj needy greedy set the mood with his mix, which we appreciated.whenever we're back in santee, we'll definitely stop by again.
Eric was a good waiter, the food was out of this world good. When they open last year I wanted to come, but life gets in the way. If I had known how good it was I would have been here sooner. It's a little costly but worth it
First visit to Santee Steak & Seafood. Hostess was very friendly and quick to seat us and Edgar, our waiter, promptly arrived at our table to serve us. Couldn’t help but notice that the hostess also jumped in and bussed tables as customers left the restaurant. Chicken Alfredo for the wife and Ribeye for me. Steak and homemade fries/hush puppies were fantastic! My wife was very impressed with her dish as well. Edgar was great and made our dining experience a most pleasurable one that will definitely have us returning again!
Part of 4 adults, 2 small children. Ordered appetizers, fried alligator bites, and mozzarella sticks. Wonderfully tasty. I ordered the prime rib cooked medium, broccoli with homemade cheese sauce, and a baked potato. In my adult existence this was the absolute best prime rib I have ever had. Broccoli was steamed perfectly and the homade cheese sauce was awesome. Wife had soft shell crab sandwich. She really enjoyed it. French fries are cut in house. Daughter had crab legs. They were cooked perfect. Son-in-law had the T-bone steak. Same thing. Everything was phenomenal. The staff was absolutely fantastic. The only gripe was its a little warm inside. However that would be kinda expected since they have a actual freestanding wood burning brick oven. Small details, like the sweet tea is correctly made. That is was a bonus for me. First time ever coming here, definitelywill come again! For the price we paid for dinner, my honest opinion, absolutely correct. Great food, perfect sizes, great price. I want this establishment to know that I really enjoyed my dinner! Thank you
This was our first time here and the food was really good! We had the seafood platter. The food was hot and very little wait! Our waitress was awesome! We will beback!
Food tasted great BUT no gluten free menu. A salad with chicken, very, very small and $17! My wife said chicken fil A would have been better. Smh. I've been cooking 16 oz ribeyes on my grill for 30+ years. My $34/ 14 oz ribeye was maybe 8 oz. Shrimp skewer came out at the end of our meal, guess it was desert? Tiny baked potatoes. Very disappointed for $78
This place was awesome, Jada at the bar was fabulous and our waitress Meagan was great. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for local food that is done RIGHT.
We went about 6pm and it was really hot inside. Probably because there are no blinds on all of the windows on the front side. Callie was a great server! My husband had the NY Strip and it was cooked to his liking but a little bland. We may go back. We like to support locals.
Had dinner at the Santee Steak and seafood Restaurant. They also have the Open Pizza Oven to bake you a Pizza to perfection. You must try because this is the best Pizza. Service is great and you will probably find the owners there to make sure Customer Service and Food are to perfection.
Dinner tonight was amazing! Hubby had prime rib special. He said it was tender and flavorful. Came out perfectly medium rare. I had lobster and shrimp. Seasoning really complimented the seafood without overpowering the natural flavor. Looking forward to our next time getting to come here.
