One Hot Mama's American Grill

New to the area and this place came up as a must try and I see why. The food was absolutely delicious! We had the pulled pork salad and the Stack-a-Mac. Service was great and the manager came around and gave us suggestions for the island. So glad we came.

(Update - 1/21/24) : Stopped in for some fried wings, pulled pork, and ribs and all three proteins were cooked well and tasty. The cole slaw is sweet and delicious, as is the corn bread. The Mac & Cheese is equally good. Will return to the their brisket and fried smoked chicken before we head back home!

Went for an late lunch/early dinner with my wife after spending a week with the grandkids and shared some grilled wings, pulled pork sandwich, cole slaw, cornbread and sausage stuffing, and green beans and almonds. We've been here before a couple of times and I wish I had remembered which sides we liked because the green beans were just ok (lacked seasoning), and the grilled wings could have spent a minute more on the grill to tighten the skins up. Not a fan of the J. Daniels sauce and the Hot Asian was slightly better which leaves me to believe that we like the fried wings better last time because of the sauce choices. The pulled pork was spot on with plenty of flavor built into it so sauce wasn't necessary. Definitely a good option for the pork.

Very over rated. Smoked turkey was dry & almost no meat on the fried chicken. The fries were decent though.

Food was dry, didn’t have flavor. Was disappointed since everyone says this place is good. Floors were slippery with grease, most likely staff are are using the kitchen mop out on dining areas.

Don’t use the takeout service. Had an order set to pickup at 5: 30 and wasn’t ready until 6: 15 and manager didn’t offer to take anything off the bill. This isn’t the first poor experience I’ve had with the takeout service. Food is outstanding, but not worth the hassle unless you eat in.

WOW! EXCELLENT catering service, we had a party of about 20 and Dayton took care of everything from setup to cleanup and more! Every bite of food was amazing, but the Hawaii Five-O wings stole the show.one of the guests even commented the next day if he was stranded on a deserted island and could only have one thing; it would be Hawaii FIve-O chicken wings!:) Thank you One Hot Mama's for making our family event special!

We came on vacation and celebrated a birthday. We really enjoyed the food and service was exceptional.

Great BBQ place and one of the best wings I had for for a long time.

The BBQ wings were spectacular! The music was nice and the staff were friendly and very helpful. Ordered their wings two days in a row.

Not busy Sunday night. Staff, service was adequate. Nothing spectacular. Not pleased with food at except for ribs. "Jumbo" wings not Jumbo iny opinion. Carolina Gold & Spicy Italian sauce were OK. Needed more on the wings. Baked beans uninspiring. Fries bland. Burnt end Chilli was OK as well.
Wife likes this place but I'll suggest not going back on this trip.

This place is great! We went for dinner and had ribs and hamburger. The ribs were great! We also did a take out of the banana pudding which was soon good. We had a great waitress, Blair, who helped us with our selections. Other staff also checked on us which made us feel appreciated. Well we appreciated there customer service!

My husband loved the wings so much, we came back the next day! I especially loved the cornbread!

1.5 yr ago I would consider it 4.5 stars but has become increasingly more mediocre.too bad.

I ordered Thanksgiving dinner 3 weeks in advance because I had heard how exceptional the meal was and worth every bit of the $199.
We were met with a curt what time is your pick up?
Being 10 min early we were ordered to take a seat, I get it it’s a busy time.
There were 14 family members waiting to eat our Thanksgiving dinner. I mention the number because what we received would not have fed 8 adults!
The deep fried turkey was not edible, the drum sticks and wings were over fried and the breast meat so dried out I was not able to salvage any of the turkey!
I feel strongly that I didn’t get what was promised and regret ordering from One Hot Mama!

The best! Better than the Original Q in Durham, better than Whistling Pig in Lagrange, GA, better than Bob Sykes in Birmingham, anywhere I've ever been. And, the atmosphere is awesome.

Another of our island favorites, but cold pulled pork, and no smoke flavor in the brisket. The taste was good but something's need to be addressed.

Dine-in. Our waitress Blair was amazing, she knew the menu and had great recommendations. For starters the brisket queso was absolutely delicious with a few tender pieces of brisket sitting in the middle of all that cheesy goodness. I had the baby back ribs with collards and mash and gravy. My ribs were full of flavor and falling off of the bone. The collards were tender and the jalapeño cornbread was so soft. The jalapeño did not over power the flavor of the cornbread. My friend had the meat n 3. You pick a meat and get 3 sides. She chose the rib tips, Mac n cheese, string beans and fries. Her ribs tips were falling off the bone as well. The food was very good and so was their signature sauce. One Hot Mama gets two thumbs up in my book.

One of the best places to eat! Definitely our favorite! Everything is delicious. Burnt ends, the mac & cheese, and the chocolate pecan pie is to die for. Amazing service and food! We go every time we visit.

I enjoyed the beef brisket but I ordered some of their famous chicken wings to go and later found they were burned and not good

There is very little I can't say about this place, IT'S PERFECT. The servers are so kind and very attentive! The manager walks around and asks how out dining is too, which I think is amazing! But let me tell you the best part THE FOOD! The flavors are INCREDIBLE. I've never tasted anything this good. The cornbread is amazing, the brisket and ribs are to die for, I'm getting hungry again just remembering those amazing flavors! Oh and the portions are very generous! I was full all day! Definitely going to eat at this place every day for my entire vacation. I love it, and I recommend it to everyone!

Great ribs and great waitstaff. The baked beans and Mac & Cheese were disappointing. The Mac & Cheese tasted like Kraft Mac & cheese from a box and the beans were bland. We sat in the section of the restaurant with the pool table and other games. We did not enjoy listening to the screaming kids and adults that were enjoying the games.

The food was very good. However I do not feel like any of it was piping hot from the grill; at most it was warm. Some of the wings were served in a puddle of grease (yuck). Aside from that, the ribs, brisket, and chili were on point.

Hit up the pourhouse for a couple of brews. Barkeep was super cool and provided stellar service on a super-busy day.

Not busy later Friday evening. Prompt friendly service. Baby Back ribs were fall off the bone delicious. Brisket was good too.

Recommended by friends, who raved about the collard greens, and it did not disappoint! The Mac Stack starter was a meal in itself and amazing! Brisket, pulled pork and chicken all have wonderful flavor. Service was excellent too! Highly recommend if you're visiting Hilton Head.

Not a fan of the chocolate ribs just not for me. My cornbread was cold. The best thing on the menu was the banana pudding. Best I ever had! Ribs were too charred for me. Didn't like the stack and Mac didn't realize the coleslaw would be on top.

Can't imagine bbq getting any better on HHI than One Hot Mama's! Everything we ordered was great!

One of my favorite places when I visit Hilton Head. The Big Daddy and ribs are at the top of my list! Usually always busy but worth it.

We chose One Hot Mama's on the fly because we were late eating dinner. I am so glad we did! The service didn't lack because we arrived later and the food was delicious! I had thr pulled pork, collard greens, slaw and honey jalapeno cornbread. My son had a burger that he couldn't even finish. My husband had the cuban sandwich, he wasn't a fan but said it wasn't bad. He would go back but get something else. I honestly could go every day just to try something different.

One hot day we decided to go to One Hot Mama's for lunch. We ordered off the dinner menu and got the family meal.which is a lot of food. We took the leftovers back to the villa and had dinner and lunch the next day. Oh, coloring on the walls is a thing.

Fun atmosphere and amazing bbq. Went here on our Hilton Head trip and ordered their chicken, pulled pork, and brisket. All of it was delicious and it was a fun experience. Docking a star for the state of the restrooms. They don’t need redesigned, they need completely rebuilt. Other than that, really great food and fun experience (call ahead about seating).

Tried it out on my brothers recommendation-he was raving about the reviews he had read and this place did not disappoint. The ambiance -cute. The blackboard with the pig and all the menu items adorable. The crayon markings on the brick walls-too cute. The food was to die for. Being a wus I went for the chicken instead of ribs, pulled pork etc. The chicken was "meh" and kinda dry but the accompanying sauces and sides more than made up for it. The corn bread stuffing with sausage is to die for, the fried okra super crisp and well made. The collard greens I tried for the first time and was not a fan till I was told it would be a world better with a dash of vinegar and that did make all the difference. Service was not bad and I would love to visit this place again post pandemic

Some of the best BBQ on the island. Loved the Asian grilled wings, Mac and cheese, cornbread, and pulled pork. Brisket was dry, but still yummy. Very tiny sauce containers, so make sure you grab a lot!

Burnt ends are amazing. We also loved the ribs, pulled pork, wings, mac and cheese, and Thanksgiving dinner. They seemed a little short staffed and there were some out of control children running around from a private party but even the lack of parenting didn't ruin the great food. Would recommend and will be returning.

To say the food was amazing is no justice! This place has to be one of the absolute BEST restaurants I’ve ever been too! The Mac and Cheese was so creamy and cheesy. The garlic parm wings were so flavorful and juicy! And lastly the price! Food was affordable for the area! I was expecting to spend at least $30 for the food like other places in the island but it was under $20! I will definitely come back in the future!

Food was great. Chili and ribs were flavorful and perfect. The bar had nice seating, friendly staff and a nice pool table and bar-shuffle board. The foosball table was ok but not level and missing handles
