Food has always been great. Should definitely offer a filet option with their limited options.

My wife and I went to Hamptons to celebrate our 38th anniversary. The environment is warm and inviting. Our server was extremely nice and accommodating. The food was absolutely amazing! Compliments to the chef! I would highly recommend this location for your special event! We will definitely be back!

Fantastic service, great outdoor seating, and the food (scallops, short rib ravioli) was top notch. Would be a standout restaurant in chicago or Miami, 5/5 and a must do when visiting Sumter

The service offered by this location is the reason for the low rating. The restaurant offers no capacity to speak with a person to make reservations; either a voicemail must be left (which for first timers, it’s not a clear expectation that a phone call will be returned) or reservations are made online (which doesn’t support large groups).

Additionally, our group, who was both ethnically diverse and diverse in experience, were met with several micro aggressions and condescending tones and actions from a few members of the staff, to include the waiter and the primary host. There was an “air” of haughtiness and pomposity towards customers, specifically toward our group, that did not make it an inviting restaurant to eat in. The food was delicious and prepared greatly. However, the service was very distasteful.

Chef Raf never disappoints me and I really enjoy this current staff. They are attentive and fun. I’m not sure you can make a mistake in your ordering choice and if you haven’t been for lunch you are missing out. If the price of the evening menu feels daunting start out going for lunch. You can easily have lunch for around 15$ and the food quality is going to outpace your typical lunch menu. It’s my go to place when I need a break but can’t get out of town.

Very nice restaurant. Our waitress was so friendly & the rest of the staff were very helpful. The steak was absolutely wonderful. I wasn't going to have dessert, but I was curious to see what they had on their menu. I've never had Creme brulee & that's my mother's favorite so I had to try it, & it was delicious. Guys if you want to impress your date, this is a beautiful restaurant. I was very impressed.

The restarant is really nice with high ceilings and spacious. The tables are not crammed together. The wait staff was very polite and accomodating. My wife had foot surgery and was on a knee roller and getting her into her chair her water glass was spilled. They were quick and did a great job cleaning and resetting the table, then handed her a plastic childrens cup with straw and lid. It cracked everyone up, it was fun and they did it in a light hearted way. The menu changes day to day and is eclectic but really tasty. From shortrib mac and cheese to tortilla soup. There was a pot roast and shrimp and grits. Everthing was attractively displayed and delicious. The prices are surprisingly reasonable. We will definitely be back and look forward to using the big peoples water glasses.

Always a great place to eat. If the dinner seems pricey I would suggest coming for lunch. Salad was spectacular. Salmon was cooked perfectly. Excellent service and friendly

A SURPRISE!

Visited a friend in Sumter and he told us this was the best place in town. He even said it was great. Now, this is Sumter— nothing in a culinary realm is great here.

We were shocked at how far Sumter has come after trying this place. The food was decent enough for the price point, prices exceptionally low, and the service was okay. We were disappointed by a waitress who never brought the scallops we ordered, but it wasn’t on the check.

The desserts were really impressive. We were glad we ordered everything they had on the dessert menu because it really was a treat.

The rest of the menu was okay. Maybe a little too adventurous for the area, but we enjoyed everything. The pizza is not the best, but don’t let that dissuade you— it really is a solid pizza and likely the best pizza you can get in town.

Altogether, Hamptons is better than anything else in Sumter and Columbia. They might even survive with a location in the tourist trap areas of Charleston.

Make sure to give them a visit and support a positive change for Sumter.

Absolutely delicious! Everything we ordered tasted great. We will recommend to others, and we will come back for another date night!

We went for a Sunday brunch which was a very quiet and enjoyable experience.

I enjoyed the chicken and waffles that were the perfect combo of sweet and salty. My wife had the BBQ hash which had a great depth of flavor.
Definitely one of the best restaurants in Sumter.

Service was great!

This place was our go to place for every big event for the past 4 years. We decided to have my baby shower here and I'm really upset we did. First the manager (Alan?) wouldn't let us sit at our completely open and set table outside because we were missing one person in our party. Keep I mind it was a late brunch res, so it was pretty dead there AND I am 9 months pregnant, due in 2 weeks, and he told me "No, you can stand at the bar and wait for everyone in your party to get here. " We were only missing one person and she was going to be late. 3 people in our party tried to get him to let us sit and he refused. Then everything we tried to order, they were out of. So after being denied 3 different meals. I decided I guess I'll have the steak. But then they wouldn't let me get it cooked well. Like I said I am pregnant, I cannot have uncooked meats.so I had to just get a salad. After over 90min waiting for any food, they finally came out and told more people in our party that they didn't have stuff that was ordered 90 min ago.and when they finally brought out food they gave one of the people bacon cause they ran out of sausage, without asking if it was okay with her. The only reason I didn't demand anything or leave was because it was an event and the poor server was bending over backwards trying to make us happy, while Alan the manager was literally on his phone (everytime I saw him). Alan wouldn't even send us a desert or at least say sorry for the horrible experience he caused.what an absolute joke of a manager. There are other unfortunate things that happened at this visit but basically I won't have another event here. I hadn't come in about 6 months cause I was out of town so I am assuming this manager took over during that time. How disappointing to come back to a restaurant you have loved and held or been to at least 13 events at and now it's a laughing stock. So so disappointing.

As a new Sumter resident I feel that I found my go-to Sunday brunch spot in downtown after today. The chicken and waffles are a must and the customer service is top notch.

Well, that was great! We were greeted by Alan, the General Manager, who welcomed my boyfriend and I with a warm hospitable smile and light conversation. Our server Daniel ensured speedy and spot on service the entire meal. Alan checked on us again and introduced us to Ashley who was assisting Daniel. She educated us on the desserts and got us all set up with an appetizer to go (because we were stuffed, but wanted more for a late night snack). Very pleased with the upscale fine dining experience in the quaint town of Sumter. We look forward to returning for one of Chef Dall’Erta dinner services very soon. Also, very intrigued about the establishments signature sister restaurant and multiple event venues!

Always enjoy to eat at Hampton. Most of time we are at alleyway dining area so we can enjoy nice weather. Waiter is friendly and keep us update when our order was behind. Menus changes periodically and The foods were arrange nicely on the plates.

Hampton's has been and will remain the crown jewel of the Sumter Main Street district. Some of the finest food within the nearest 100 miles - easily on par with some of the famous eateries in Columbia, Charleston, or Savannah.

The braised shortrib is one of the few menu items that isn't changed during the rotation. Strongly recommended for any red-meat eater.

The scallops and other sea fare are also world-class, and should not be missed.

Ask to sit on La Piazza when the weather is nice to enjoy a more casual atmosphere.

We went two weekends in a row. We were so impressed with the food and the changing menu is great. The prices are very fair for the quality and size. We had two good experiences for service too. Lovely brunch spot! You do need reservations on Sundays. They are popular!

Stopped in Sumter for one night and decided to have dinner at Hamptons. Best decision ever. I saw on some the reviews that people were complaining about long waits for their food. Well the wait was a little long but the food was worth every minute of the wait. The calamari was some of the best ever I've had. My main dish was the redfish atop a bed of crab fried rice. My husband had the beef tenderlion with fingerling potatoes. Both dishes were cooked to perfection. When I'm headed back from Florida, I'll be stopping in Sumter again just to have dinner at Hamptons.
