My daughter requested an up-do. She gave her stylist a picture of inspiration but knew it wasn’t something she’d get exactly because of her fine hair. The stylist showed picture of her suggested styles and they compromised. The appointment was 20 minutes long. The stylist had curled her hair and put in one bubble braid in the back. Half up half down kind of style. We were charged $85 for this up-do. As my daughter was paying the stylist proceeded to tell her that she might have to curl a few pieces that fall out once she got home. If I am paying $85 for a hair style I’d sure hope it would last longer than 30 mins. If the stylist felt that the clients hair probably wouldn’t hold curl, she should have suggested an up- do since she had time and client was open to suggestions. When I called to speak with the stylist she proceeded to tell me that prom hair styles are a set price, and I said, the appt probably takes longer than 20 mins. I expressed how I felt my daughter was taken advantage of. All she could say was, “I am sorry you feel that way”. “If you’d like to have her hair redone you are welcome to come back for an updo”. Of course we didn’t have time for this as we arrived home. Unfortunately they were not agreeable to give a reduced rate for the service, or compromising with us the customer for a solution. I don’t like to leave bad reviews, because there is always two sides to every story, but unfortunately this was not worth the money and service my daughter received. We will not be returning or recommending Ella Salon.
