Had a brief interaction with staff at this shelter. Seems like they are crowded and pushing for rescuers to foster or adopt their rescues. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Location could use some sprucing up and cleaning.

Love everyone here. Especially ERIN and Mr what's his name? (The Cat) I cannot think of his name. He owns the yard. Everyone of y'all are a blessing. KitKat is still missing. Y'all please pray.

It felt good to be able to give a 100 dollar donation. They are helping with the feral cat population. Spay and neuter peeps. Especially if the kitties are outside. They need our help

Don't let your animals go hungry. They provide food toys bedding. (if they have it). All needed is your info and I. D.card. And you can get food every month.

This shelter, like most all of them, is at capacity and then some but still, the small, dedicated staff loves each and every animal there and it shows. There shelter was clean, animals fed and happy and the staff was very friendly and helpful

My daughter went to Dorchester Paws to possibly adopt Meatball. However, the manager was very disrespectful and refused to allow my daughter to provide a home for Meatball since he may become an outside pet. It is so important that the manager utilizes professional customer service skills when speaking to all customers even if she feels their opinions and data are "irrelevant" to her decision to allow them to adopt a needy pet.

I have been volunteering at DP for over three years now, the staff cares about every single animal and they work with the facility they have—I wish more people would come volunteer, our community really needs it.

Adopted a dog from here a couple of years back and they neglected to tell me he had heartworms when I took him home. I called the shelter after the two-week ‘trial period’ to ask about paperwork and THEN they informed me he had heartworms. I never would have taken him if I’d known, as heartworms are very difficult to deal with. Then my vet told me they only give their animals two heartworm injections instead of the recommended three. Don’t adopt from here, they clearly don’t care about their animals. And their staff is rude to boot.

Friendly animal loving people. This team works very hard to help the animals that come into their care to find their Furever homes. They are also involved with helping the community with their animal needs.

Staff was more than helpful and friendly. They will not open the gate a minute before 12: 00 though. So if you get there early you will have to sit and wait.

I've been here both as a volunteer and as a spray technician from Lawn Doctor. The staff is hard working and they treat all animals with care. So if you're thinking about volunteering, donating, or just adopting a fur baby, you should definitely consider this place.

Recently adopted a cat that had tape worms. Called within hours after taking her home to see if something could be done such as a reimbursement for medication or provided medication. I have no issues getting the dewormer meds as needed however what I didn't appreciate was being told to take her to the vet like normal and reimbursement was not an option. Just be mindful and check your pets before hand before you're told to hit the high road to the vet should a medical issue for your new pet occur post adoption rather than prior.

They picked up my brown dog put a picture of and when I called about my dog and was tryna figure out why it cost so much to get my dog back they hug up on me and won't answer none of my phone calls and know I'm worrying about how ima get the money to get her out and they don't care that's my dog

We initially fostered then later adopted our pitbull mix, Winter, from Dorchester Paws in 2020. I can't say enough nice things about Mollie and her team. Everyone we ran into during any step of this process was genuine and caring. DP is a wonderful place to find a pet to give a forever home to.

I know they are trying, but I find most pet adoption kennels sad. This one is clean beyond belief, & the staff is helpful. Most of the dogs I saw were large, & if that's your thing you will be happy. I'm in a wheelchair & couldn't handle a big dog, so they had nothing for me.

Fabulous the work the do for the fur babies who don't have a home is awesome. Remember them when looking for a pet or make a donation to help them out.

I got my big ol' boy here today. I guess I'm his retirement home? My other dogs get along with him. He's a pretty easy going old dude and a sweet dog️. The foster lady who had him before I adopted took good care of him and it was a smooth transition.

We adopted star and intend to foster Molly and a cat. We first went because they normally charge crazy prices and had advertised a "name your price" pet due to over crowding on Saturday and sunday. There were select pets that were qualified as name your price others were normally priced. We went on Saturday. Sunday they were closed to honor someone which i thought was nice but misleading. We ended up falling hard for star and paying over the $150. For her in addition to the $25. Charge for a matching collar and leash. Overall I'm conflicted. Felt lured under false pretenses but thrilled with our new pet.

My family got greeted upon walking in. We said we were interested in possibly adopting 2 cats. Employee said they're to the right and left. So, we explored.
Meeting the cats via paw touch through the 4x4 cage, petting ears, getting hissed at, pawed at.
We fell in love with a brother and sister set.
We requested to hold them and fill out an application. It was approved, I was asked about some bloodtests, they were negative.

They are neuered and spayed, vaccinated, litter trained, microchipped
Adorable, great with my kids, playful, happy!
I prepared my children before we came to the adoption center, what we MAY expect.it went well.
The only thing I would suggest is.send the parents of the new furbabies some sort of what to expect.
I knew we had to get a carrier to bring them home.
But I had no idea what to do after they got home, besides a litter box, food and water.
I was Like.now, should I place them in a small room while they sleep to get the idea of a heater/ac running? The knowledge of being able to roam freely.
‍️ I was not sure.so they just tookover my livingroom.
It's all good though.
They are a hoot! I hope to adopt again. And I live the satisfaction of helping Dorchester paws and these little ones.

Went to adopt a dog today and found a little one. While filling out the form the young lady took the flyer and when she brought it back the price went up $150. Call back asked to speak to the director and she got an attitude about the situation and still haven’t heard from the director. I hate it for the little dog who lost a loving home today cause of her. Sorry snoopy!

Everyone was kind helpful I've been looking for a small older dog but I didn't find one so I'm going to keep going there I recommended they were also doing name-your-own-price and you can start out at five bucks which I thought was incredible it's really a nice place to go and I'm going to keep going until I find me a dachshund

I have adopted 4 pets from here. They are a very helpful organization too stray animals. They are also always in need of donations from the community.

Had to take a stray cat i found there. Really hoping he gets adopted or they contact me if he needs to be put down so I can be there for him. Very sad.: (He is such a sweet boy.

I left my information at the desk so someone would contact me regarding a sudden litter of kittens that I now have in my house. Have not heard back from anybody as of today.

I adopted a kitten one and a half weeks ago and had to put him down today! My kitten was treated 4 times during this period with no answers until he was laying on the table with an IV in awaiting to be put down. Dorchester Paws proceeded to tell me they could only give me a refund for my adoption fee but are not reliable for anything else. This poor kitten was sick the day I brought him home but despite my efforts no help was given. I’m heartbroken and EXTREMELY disappointed in Dorchester Paws!

The staff was very friendly when we came in to adopt. The facility looked clean, however it did smell, but it's a rescue. There was around 20 dogs at the facility and a huge selection of cats. The adoption fee was a little high for a rescue, in my opinion. Unfortunately, we had to return our dog, which for the price we paid and the distance we drove, was not an easy decision. The fee was non-refundable, which they do tell you upfront. But, it took a long time (days) to get a hold of someone on the phone to schedule a drop off. I never received a return call, but eventually got ahold of someone about 30 mins before close of business. The actual drop off process took about 15 mins. Also, if you have the animal longer than 30 days there is a fee to bring them back. Hope this helps.

We had a great rating for these people but Im editing. We got a shitzu 7 month's old. Adorable 4 days ago. Had to bring him back today because I got dizzy on stairs when my husband was working and was also upset because they didnt put that white collar in him because he had just got neutered. Also he was a mess with matts in his fir. When we got Oliver we paid $300 and was told by blonde girl at desk we would get some of the mney back if we couldn't keep him
Today when we brought him back for above reasons this woman called ebony said no money back and I told her the girl at desk said I would. Wow I have anxiety, depression and COPD and 73 senior citizen. Not right as i told them when we move to a first floor we would get another dog. Seniors have no rights I guess. Please don't go there or they will twist everything around to their benefit.
