Dollar General

So, I personally know the girls who the previous people/ person is talking about and I can guarantee that they would never treat anyone in that way unless they were given attitude and disrespect first. These girls will bend over backwards for anyone to aid and assist them regardless of age race orientation or anything else.

I have also worked in retail my whole life and as so we are in no obligation to bow down to your demands or attitude as employees and we do have the right to ask you to leave a store.

Worst display of customer service EVER. Was in McClellanville for a visit and stopped in for some flowers. Walked on and said hello, no one spoke- ohkay, cool. Grabbed flowers and went to the register. Caucasian female with short blonde hair and a cigarette hanging from her ear is at the register chatting with a Caucasian male, laughing and giggling. My turn at the register, snatches my flowers and becomes mute. So I say- " well hi, hello and how are you. " Her response - " if you're gonna have an attitude then I won't serve you. " My response " what attitude, I didn't receive a greeting, but yet you were chatty Cathy with the guy before me. " She then throws the flowers on the side of the register saying " oh no, you've got an attitude, you need to get out. " My reply " no I'm not leaving and I don't have an attitude because I simply asked for a greeting. " Her response " you better leave or I'm calling the cops. " I stood in front of the card reader and responded " well you do that because I've done nothing to you. " At this time she's calling for another female to come to the front. As another customer approaches, I again reiterate that I am not leaving and I'll wait for you to call the police. At this time, she calls the manager via cellphone. The manager walks to the front and she immediately begins yelling " I told her to leave and she won't leave, she had an attitude. " I interjected, stating " she was just chatty Cathy with the guy before but couldn't speak within my transaction and I'm not leaving as I've done nothing but expect great customer service. " The girl then yells at the manager, " I'm not ringing her up and you can't make me. " And then walks out the door to smoke the cigarette behind her ear. I then replied to the manager " so you allow her to speak and conduct herself like that, yet I have the attitude. I'll leave once those flowers are rung up and I'll pay and leave. " The manager still does not speak until giving me my total. No apology, no what happened, no nothing. I asked for my receipt and then left.
I have contacted corporate as this was the utter most form of disrespect with no cause or justification.merely because I said " well hi, hello and how are you". As I had not been greeted with the same banter as the Caucasian male before me.
Truly disgusted and appalled that local customers patronizing this Dollar General put up with that.

It’s 7: 50 and the doors are locked and no sign on door explaining why. This is the 7 th time I found this store like this! This location won’t take cards most of time and only wants cash? The corporation needs to address this!

They were open when everyone else was closed. The night manager was rude. She didn't want to sell my husband the posted price on the merchandise. Then she refused to give him a recipt. She told him to never come back. We won't be.

This Dollar General is nice! I like that they have fresh fruit and vegetables. It’s very well stocked and carry some things our regular Dollar Generals doesn’t. Pretty nice and a great shopping experience.

Clean, organized and they had everything I needed in stock. Check up was quick and the employees were very helpful.

Some of the alias where blocked off with supplies that needed to be stocked. Items on the shelves where out of place, so I spent some time trying to figure out which price belongs to several items. The store employees where very courteous; especially the stocker.

Everyone who works in this store is always so pleasant! It's always clean and well stocked! The location is vital to this community!

I love Dollar General stores everywhere. Some need updating and organizing but still like the convenience of location. Today I stopped in the McClellanville, SC store. I guess they must not have orders to wear Mask. I was throw by the lack of customers and employee not wearing their mask. I left store immediately. I did not feel safe to purchase anything.

I appreciate the Manager Selena, she goes out her way to help the customers as well as the staff.

Selena and her staff are amazing! Well stocked. Always working their tails off to ensure the best shopping experience. Just moving and my truck has not arrived and they have everything I need from painting supplies to produce! Blessed to have them in the neighborhood! Thank you for your hard work and beautiful spirits!

I'd say they have poor management, but the store managers can't improve things if the owners don't equip them. Constant turnover in employees, their stock never gets fully shelved and their are almost always a few unloaded dollies in the isles.

This location reminds me of a general store from the outside. I really only give it one star off because none of the Dollar General Stores supply mobile carts & the staff is not overly friendly. Well stocked and clean.

This is one of the best Dollar Generals I’ve visited. We were in the marina nearby for an evening and were able to get a few essential groceries for our continued trip. Only a bicycle ride from Leland Oil Marina (which is very cute and cozy), this store is well provisioned and easy to get to (about a mile)

The store is capable of meeting your basic needs. But the staff is overworked and suffers from top-heavy, ineffective management. The staff could benefit from support from the community and law enforcement, which is practically unnoticeable unless they've set up a speed trap in town. The employees deserve better.

I only gave it one star because I can’t give it less. This place is filthy and the service is awful we deserve better in our town I will not go back. Well worth the 20 minute drive to get one item!

Well my dad always said you get what you pay for. They can get good employees if they would give them a good pay. And have someone with a smile. And have someone to just walk around and catch the thief's. Plus if customer would stop cleaning out their car I the parking lot that would be helpful. But dollar general really dont care about their ppl they just care about the money they can make. I have watch good hard working ppl leave because of low pay and no benefits. If DG wants to see a change in this location give pay and benefits to all employees there

Much better since the renovation. I was a little miffed that there is a balloon corral with several half- inflated balloons in it with a sign saying to ask an associate for help getting any balloon shown in the picture. When I asked an associate she said they did not have helium and the only options were the half inflated balloons in the corral.
