The staff are very friendly and the view is amazing but the rooms are very basic and the beds are from the town of bedrock

Love this hotel! Bedding is so comfortable and the bathtub is huge. Beautiful and clean hotel. We also got the pool side view and it was lovely!

Room is awkward - large cabinets make narrow walking aisle past beds. The room has very bad ergonomics - very little table space and bathroom shelf space (none at sink). The shower sucks - low pressure, weird swinging half-glass door. Toilet is low to ground. Shampoo dispenser broken.

No USBs at desk. The attempt at old-fashioned charm without functional design and amenities makes the room unlikeable. The desk chair is a hard wood chair. The mattresses feel cheap and stiff.

Oh, and the card-reader at the gate to get in and out breaks, stranding you out or inconveniencing you in.

The view is decent. The coffee is decent. Nearby restaurant The FishHouse sucks. Poor service, overpriced mediocre food. If you are coming to Charleston, this isn't the place to stay. Leaving with a backache.

I have enjoyed this location the best I have attended many events here and it has always been top notch quality and service.

This hotel was top-notch. The room was simply amazing and maybe the best one my wife and I have ever stayed in! Bill at the front desk helped save the day late night when we to change our plans due to a VRBO gone wrong. Thanks Bill and the entire team for getting our Charleston weekend back on track!

Be aware that the people of this hotel will try to scam you. We had a $27 bar tab at the Tiki Bar that turned into $138 because someone working there decided they would give themselves a 398% tip. If you try and contact the hotel to resolve the matter you'll never hear back and everyone you talk to will give you an attitude. The people working the Tiki Bar were barely nice enough for me to tip them 20%. I'd recommend staying somewhere else when visiting Charleston. Rooms are old and falling apart as well. Our shower control handle fell off several times, and when it stayed on it was barely functional.

We were just there last week (8/17 - 8/20). Everyone at the front desk and with housekeeping was excellent! Great customer service at check-in and with our daily towel needs. We had 3 rooms - 2 for 2 days and the suite for 3 days, which cost me over $3,000 (we were getting married, so it was a splurge). I was sold on the website pictures and social media pictures and videos. Our suite, had an amazing view of the harbor, just don't look down. The view forward from our balcony consisted of storage of random overflow mechanical and facility items like poles and fence pieces and other miscellaneous. The view to the side of our balcony was mud and old wet plywood laid on the ground for the workers to navigate that area. Then there was a tent below with random items strewn around on the artificial turf. Our shower grout showed significant age and wear. Not to the point where I wore my flip flops inside, but it could use a deep clean. There was a small refrigerator, but no access to a microwave in the room or anywhere on premises (and we ate out multiple times a day, and had leftovers). All-in-all, definitely not worth almost $1700. We had to call guest services because my daughter's sliding door did not lock and then it would not slide on the track. Their establishment sanitation grade changed from a 'B' to a 'C' while we were there, which should have been my first sign if concern when we arrived. Then to top it off, they charged me more than what my reservation confirmation email indicated and when I called to ask about it, they said it was a fee, which I told them was already listed on my reservation amount. They had me send them my reservation email, yet I received no follow-up response.
I do appreciate that they surprised us with balloons on our suite door, congratulating us on our wedding/marriage. That was nice.
However, I'm definitely reluctant to recommend this establishment, even with the phenomenal harbor view. In some situations, location cannot be everything. There is a place next door called The Cottages. It has the same beautiful harbor view, though not distracted with junk. That may be a good option.

Wonderful relaxing resort. I have to say, Please go easy on the staff. Every place that we stopped on the way down is understaffed. The employees are trying as hard as they can. It will take a while for things to get back to some normalcy.
Everyone working at the Charleston Harbor Resort were kind and helpful.
I was not aware that the beach is a no swimming beach. I didn't know to ask. It took about 30 minutes by car to go to Isle Of Palms Beach front.
They have a water taxi and vehicle services. Will try them out on our next trip.

LOVED visiting and staying here. I thought it was just a simple hotel until my family and I realized it was a private resort. We felt safe, taken cared for and all the amenities were A+

Hotel is actually located across the bridge in Mt Pleasant. Good overall location. Right next to the launching point for the Fort Sumter tour. Here for a shirt conference. Staff has been helpful in a couple of difficult situations. Be mindful that there is a harbor side and a beach side. All on same property, but may involve some walking. Good amenities, but some features are funky, different, or weird. Not sure if regional or cultural item. Showers that are not enclosed. Different rooms appear set up similarly, but slightly variations to accommodate

My wife and I went there for a weekend gataway without children. We had a great time, rooms and service were excellent. We are also members of Freedom Boat club, having them within walking distance from the resort was a HUGE plus.

Our company hosted our annual sales meeting at Charleston Harbor resort.

Location was great, giving our team access to nearby restaurants (Shem Creek, Downtown)

The team was great leading up to the event in organizing / facilitating the rooms / food / etc. During the event, they were very prompt with any changes / issues we had. Feedback from our team was the food was really good (breakfasts, lunches, and 1 dinner).

We also participated in the Olympic Team Building event hosted by the resort which received a lot of praise from our team.

We stayed in the Harbor-side resort and it was extremely disappointing! The first sign of trouble was the parking, all full! Then as we entered the resort it was old and filthy! The elevators were disgusting! Not enough chairs at the pool, and no pool towels! Then our room was even more disappointing! The ceiling fan did not work, the decor was from the 80’s and the bed ruffles just fell off when you pulled the covers back. In need of MAJOR renovations! I would not recommend!

We loved our stay. My wife and two young boys (both under 3) traveled from Los Angeles to Charleston for a week long vacation. The hotel location was A+. A short drive over the bridge to downtown or to Shem Creek. Sullivans Island and IOP also not far away. Service was A+, food and drink A+. My only complaint - they did not have fresh water available in the lobby 24/7. It was there mostly in the afternoons but in the morning it was replaced by coffee and in the late evenings it was simply not there. Water should be available in the lobby around the clock.

Attended Duplates Band at the Friday evening Party at the Point 8/18/23. Excellent Consert on the Cooper River! Have enjoyed Point Parities for many years and looking forward to more.

We decided to give CHRM one more chance after two previous unhappy visits. This was our third stay and first since the addition/remodel. We had high hopes but we were disappointed once again.

We stayed on the Harbor side and check in was great. Front desk person was gracious and welcoming.

Our room was on the second floor and the last room on the hall.right next to housekeeping. The room had not been updated since our first two visits except for maybe paint. This room looked like it was forgotten. Like they just left it as is and said "eh, no one will notice". There was no safe in this room. The bathroom door is a ridiculous double door that stuck so bad that my daughter could not open it. After a long day we all came back to shower and that was a disaster. The shower has this half door that sits on top of the tubs edge. After my two girls each showered the bathroom floor was completely flooded. I thought the toilet had leaked. We later found out the shower door is supposed to have a gasket on the bottom to stop water from coming out. Ours did not have this gasket so water got everywhere. Also, the shower fan didn't work and after hot, steamy showers everything in the bathroom was soaked. I called the front desk to tell them about the flooded floor and they said they couldn't move us that night but they would the next day. However, they never sent anyone up to mop or soak up all the water. I had to do it with towels.

Next day came and no one contacted us to move. I had to go to the front desk and no one there had been made aware from the night before. So we finally get moved a few doors down and the shower door in there DID have the gasket so no more floods. However, the fan did not work in there either so we had to leave the doors open to keep everything from getting wet from the steam. The double doors in there stuck also and my husband was so fed up that he fixed it himself. The bed skirts on the beds in the second room were 3 individual pieces of material tucked under the mattress. The first night all 3 pieces from both beds were all over the floor. It was ridiculous. None of the outlets had been updated and they were all so loose that our chargers kept falling out.

This is a pet friendly hotel and I love that. However, the room across from our second room had a dog that barked continuously for hours because it was left alone in the room. The hotel contacted the owners and they finally came back and quieted him/her down.

We did not use the small pool during our stay but we did use the big pool several times. It was very cloudy and I kept getting people's long hair wrapped around my fingers. GROSS! It's as if the filters weren't doing their job keeping the pool clean. Staff also allowed adults and kids to throw balls from one side of the pool to the other with several wild pitches coming close to hitting others.

The restaurant on site is also unreasonable. We only went for breakfast once and just a heads up.they don't offer a kid's menu. One waffle with NO SIDE was $15. JUST ONE WAFFLE! Our server was also rude and unwelcoming. There was another worker clearing tables and his body odor was so offensive I almost gagged.

Here is my takeaway.

Cons:
• The half shower door makes a mess. Check for the gasket between the door and tub edge
• No working fan in the bathrooms
• No hooks in the bathroom to hang anything. Only hook is IN the shower
• Bathroom doors hard to open
• No safe in the first room
• No idea what the bedsheets are made from but they are so crinkly and loud. Sounds weird, I know.
• Insufficient amount of luggage carts
• Shuttle fills up from Beach side before even getting to the Harbor Side
• The AC cutting on and off during the night is so loud that we just finally kept the AC fan running continuously to keep it from scaring us half to death at night.
• Overall cost for what you get.

Pros:

• Pleasant staff at the hotel
• Location to downtown
• The pool side service for food and drinks. My girls loved that!

Overall, not bad. Nothing great and nothing terrible. Shuttle service to downtown needs work, if there are too many people you get left, they need a bigger shuttle. Pool was decent, hard to find chairs. Main issue was that there was blood on our sheets when we tried to go to bed and it took 25 minutes to get them changed. They didn’t offer us anything for the disgusting inconvenience.

First of all the tv and central air needs updated in the rooms on the harbor side. I got an infection from the moldy air quality from the air system. The ice maker on the 4 th floor was never fixed during the week I visited the property. The rooms are overly priced, the hotel needs serious upgrades especially for the rates they charge

Gorgeous and quiet place to rest between day trips! Extremely clean and well-maintained with a just-casual-enough atmosphere to feel comfortable and relaxed.

Just got back and loved loved loved it. We went at a busy time and it wasn't crowded. Didn't have to fight for pool spots. My husband is wheel chair bound and we were able to easily get through the sand to the piers. Most accessible resort we have been to. My favorite part was the view, it was unbelievable. It was a 10 minute easy trip downtown for great food. Will definitely be going back

Place has a ‘no’ attitude. They could care less you’re spending hard earned money on a vacation at their resort. Everyone has an attitude, is grumpy and no pleasant in the slightest. Front desk lacks training. Working in hotels all my life I’m going to steep out in the limb and say management and execs are terrible people to work for. They just don’t realize it yet. Anyway, we had a horrible time at this hotel. When we left the hotel, Charleston was fantastic. However, every time we returned it was gloomy.

3 star experience for a 4 star price.

Pros:
Location
Tropical Grounds
Nice Pools
Scenic Views

Cons:
1. Service is lacking (no bell service, had to call to have room cleaned, service at Fish House onsite was sub-par, return shuttle from Charleston was missing and had to take Uber back)
2. Rooms need attention. The AC unit was loud/rattled and cabinet hinges were broken when we arrived.
3. Onsite golf cart shuttle was broken, not operational during our stay.

With a few improvements, this resort could really shine. But attention is needed.

Wonderful resort. You are right on the water. You have access to two "cold" pools and one "heated" pool along with a hot tub. Gazebo rentals. On site restaurant and multiple bars and even a food truck. Rooms are nicely decorated and updated.
