My wife and I stayed here for New Year's Eve. Although they were renovating the hotel the service was exceptional. We appreciate the complimentary coffee, tea, apple cider, cookies, free cork screw and dining. Room service was on point for our needs and everyone was friendly and professional. It was a fair distance to local shopping and restaurants. We'd come back again.

This hotel is a definite no-go. Tarrytown is supposed to be a peaceful, lovely, and innocuous place. However, this place is filled with quirky people. Even the front desk staff, who should represent Tarrytown, treats people rudely and impolitely. Moreover, the parking lot occasionally becomes a hangout spot for noisy individuals, filled with smoke, loud talking, laughter, and car noise. It's the worst choice for a hotel if you're visiting Tarrytown

The hotel is under construction and the makeshift lobby was really dirty with stained couches. The rooms were clean but the bathroom door was missing a handle.

Not a bad hotel, all in. Maybe 3 1/2. But the construction has torn away from its suitability. The temporary front desk is a long walk from the rooms. The hotel is on a thoroughfare, making walking either direction a challenge. And certainly not hotels fault, a conference turned the hallways into a flea market.

What saved it for me was the gym. It was far above par and could get a great lift in in addition to the peloton bike and tread combo.

We enjoyed a holiday party here for our daughter's baseball team. The food was perfect for the audience- chicken fingers, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, salad, and a variety of cookies. The space was ample. They had two buffet areas, a dance floor, an area for photos with Santa, an area for arts and crafts, and an area for raffle items. The hotel itself looks like a good place for a staycation with an indoor pool and restaurant on the premises.

Great hub for the surrounding area at a decent price. Bar and restaurant (Ruth's Chris) are nice options inside.

Horrible to say the least. I was originally booked for a 7 day stay at the Marriott but I immediately departed after 1 stay when a group of men in coats banged on my door at 4am. After I asked them what business they had banging on my door one of them said oh we probably have the wrong door but they didn’t move away from my door. I was a young female alone in the hotel room and I was nervous. When I brought it to the attention of the front staff they told me it probably was a guest who mistakenly banged on the wrong door. Where was security? How was the front desk not alerted or aware that 3 men are going around banging on doors. They instructed me to never open my door and call front desk. I told them I don’t feel safe and I am leaving to another hotel. They then offered me water! For my troubles. Charged me for the night and sent me on my way. Never again Marriott! I will not

Solid hotel. If the "smaller" rooms and the smell of chlorine (there's a huge indoor pool in the center of the hotel), then I recommend you stay elsewhere. You get used to the smell after a minute.

Having 2 restaurants right in the hotel (Ruth Chris and Cooper's Mill) that serve good food definitely helps. If you opt to keep it simple, there's a smaller Stop and Shop supermarket 3 minutes away.

Heading there is a doozy if you're coming from the Cuomo bridge or the Saw Mill, so pay attention to your GPS or you'll add an extra 10 minutes backtracking.

Staff wouldn't help me understand using the card for laundry room I explained I was disability. No they wouldn't send any one to assist with laundry room. My debit card was I was able to use to purchase items.but I wanst able start washing machine. I needed assistance just how to start machine. I asked for a blanket had to wait a long time.

Great stay and different dinner options located right at the hotel one of them being Ruth Chris
03 January 2022 16:56
Attended a wedding near here and loved it. That being said, the fact that enforced a noise complaint against the bride's room AFTER quiet hours had ended in the morning was pretty ridiculous, considering this entire venue felt like it was full of wedding-goers.

Great staff, nice pool room, decent bar. Be warned breakfast is like $25-30/person and not included of course.
27 December 2021 4:44
Rusty water spot under sink. 2 bath towels for 3 guest. No shampoo dispenser in shower. No hot tub use in pool area. No creamer for coffee. Moldy deposits from coffer maker when water run through it twice. No trash can linners in baskets. Had to ask for pool towels, none available.
26 December 2021 22:44
The Marriott hotel is clean and helpful in your needs but, they can smell a tourist coming from miles away.be careful in the restaurants they will overcharge.

This is NOT the Westchester Marriott I remember and used to stay in. The ROOMS given as a government employee were in a DARK hallway - did not feel safe what so ever. The room was "standard" at best - notwithstanding I am also a Bonvoy member which is probably like having a membership to COSTCO. There were NO liners in trash pails, the coffee set up was NOT filled, NO iron, toiletries non existent, down to the product in the shower area, and MOLD on the shower curtain. The sliding glass door had two locks, however the mis-alignment of one lock did not allow the other to be utilized - you get to choose which is the strongest of the two options. And this was to have been a upgraded room as it was poolside.

Checked in at about 5pm or so which was relatively smooth. The following day we were out and about doing wedding prep by 10AM. Upon return at approximately 9p we came back to UNMADE spaces. Beds were not made, towels not picked up, rooms not done whatsoever. The days following the housekeeping was OK. This is actually the first time I could not see myself providing a gratuity for housekeeping due to their lack of services.

The hotel provide a convenient location to the interstate and other locations. However, it should be upgraded (the hotel staff indicated it was updated about 4 years ago). Carpet in rooms is very passe and should be changed out to a LVP.

I do not recommend poolside rooms for many reasons. The noise reverberates throughout due to the dome and the "balcony" space is connected to others due to the location. If your neighbor needs an extra table or chair, they can easily borrow one from your space.

I am fully against a $100 hold per night on your credit card for incidentals. I am fully against the time it takes Marriott to release it.

Meh. Old, and not in a good way think 80s, poorly maintained hotel charging 300+ a night. I had mold spots in my shower and the room coffee maker had bugs in it! They put a 400 dollar hold on my account for a week before settling the bill. I stayed for 12 hours and checked out and went elsewhere.
19 November 2021 13:58
The accommodations were lo Ely but housekeeping didn't clean our room or give us clean towels or make up the room for us. After a long long day it was so disappointing to come back and have to order up towels and stuff. Siiigh!
13 November 2021 15:47
We had a large event.management over charged and did not show any appreciation for our business.grateful they are NOT the only hotel around
11 November 2021 16:18
Clean!
Friendly. Spacious.
Comfortable rooms with cozy beds, clean, fresh bedding.
The restaurant, buffet was good with plenty of staff working.

One concern.
The American flag flies in the middle post, higher than the rest.
Please fix.

They cancelled our reservation without notifying us & gave our room to someone else. Staff was not helpful.

Truly terrible experience at Westchester Marriott. I stayed here as part of a wedding block; originally booking my room I had no problem and when I called ahead they said my spouse would be able to check into my room a few hours early in order to get ready. The day of the wedding, my spouse called ahead to make sure my room would be ready. It was not, they said call again later. He called maybe 2 more times until the concierge said the room would be ready by the time he got to the hotel. This was not the case, and when he got to the hotel he was told that they had no record of this and a room wouldn’t be ready for hours. In addition to the room not being ready, he was told they would not have the correct room that I booked and that I would have to pay a higher rate (mind you I was in a wedding block). After hours of sitting in a hotel lobby waiting, my spouse finally got into our room with barely any time to spare and was late to the wedding. Absolutely terrible experience, no communication between staff, and mediocre stay in general
24 October 2021 12:04
No coffee machines in the rooms. No locks in bathroom doors. No breakfast in the hotel. And no correct information on their website. Oh yeah and it's really overpriced.
17 October 2021 20:25
No mini refrigerator, mico wave in rooms, this is held secret until after you check in, rooms are very small and tight, when asked about mico and frigd received the miracle word (COVID) the go to word for not wanted any extra work or appliance cost (general manager christmas bonus just added a couple 0"s) oh forgot to inform you, there is a microwave in the concession area in the lobby, you will recognize it
for it has no price list, and absolutely no plastic utensils or paper cups (add another 0 to that christmas bonus) the staff I feel sad for, the were either trained to.be zombie like, or because of social media, have no people skills, and wish not to have them, pool was a 2, the medical community while study, global warmer, might just might want to check out the brainwashing, and odd behavior of are you people (but then the 0"s would disapear, stay well all, sincerely wish you luck, your going to need it

Very convenient location to get just about anywhere. The staff is professional and pleasant. Ruth's Chris Steakhouse is on property and offers less expensive happy hour/bar options for both food and drink. There is also a pub type dining choice. The rooms need to be updated, but the lobby and common areas are in good shape. This is one of the few hotels that is quiet enough to get a good night's rest. It's consistantly comfortable and clean.
21 September 2021 12:16
The hotel is nice but the employee Jen is nasty personality don't have pleasure to help at that front desk she has nasty actitud
13 September 2021 21:21
The place was okay but my room shower had a clog in the drain. Also the air conditioner system was too high in our ballroom, and there was a smell of mold coming from the carpets near the grand ballroom.
27 August 2021 22:38
I reserved 2 rooms. It took me over 2 hours to get my rooms, while other guests were getting their rooms upon arrival. I questioned that and they apologized for their mistake but still had to wait another hour to get my rooms. One room was just OK. The other was a mess, very dirty. I also would have thought they would inform potential guests that Cooper Mills (restaurant) was closed when I was making my reservation, if I knew this I probably would have went elsewhere. The hotel service was terrible, they never answered the telephone for service. There was a dog show in the area and the hotel was booked with the Owners and the dogs, yes dogs too. I'm a dog owner as well and love them, but maneuvering the dark hallways to avoid excrement is not what I call a nice place to stay. The smell wasn't pleasant either. I've stayed at this property in the past and always enjoyed it, but this time it was very disappointing. I hope it returns to the way it once was.

Stayed here because the Renaissance Westchester was closed. Nice hotel with a Ruth Chris's Steakhouse. Also a coffee shop and spa were both closed due to Covid.
Room is nice but a small bathroom with sink and vanity outside of the shower and toilet.
02 August 2021 20:21
The Coopers Mill restaurant was closed so no breakfast was available on site, which presents a challenge for business travelers. They also said they could not have a luggage cart sent to the room because they were understaffed. We were charged $12.95 to use Wi-Fi and $3.50 for a cup of coffee from their Starbucks machine (they keep the cups behind the desk so you have to ask for one). The TV didn't work. The rooms were just adequate. Needless to say, it was disappointing compared to other Marriott properties.
27 July 2021 1:54
Clean rooms, friendly and professional front desk staff, housekeepers, wait-staff; back of the house banquet room manager not friendly or welcoming. She does not know how to address guest and constantly frowned as if she was disgusted by our group.
20 July 2021 6:26
Would not recommend for elite members. In June 2021, the lounge is still closed and points are provided instead of complimentary breakfast. Breakfast buffet at onsite restaurant is over $20 a person for the same free breakfast at other Marriotts, such as Teaneck. The "upgrade" is a room around the pool, which was noisy. We just stopped for a night on our travels, I'm sure this is a great hotel if you come for events or have kids.not for business or elite member perks.
28 June 2021 22:27
Very nice hotel with a friendly and professional staff. There's also easy access to great food since they offer dine in or take out from Ruth Chris steak house. Although they have a beautiful resort style indoor pool it was closed because of Covid. However, I highly recommend staying here!
25 June 2021 11:10
Checked in with Marriott points. Room was not clean. A dirty sock was on the floor and old pretzels. Requested room to be clean when we were out of room and got attitude from clerk. I know Marriott has great standard so e trusted room would be clean when we returned but found room untouched. Called down for clean linens and it took hours to receive. Old hotel has been remodeled but room is not up to Marriott standards.
06 June 2021 11:23
Not only did the room smell as if there was a mold issue. The beds felt like a soggy piece of bread once one laid on them. If it weren't for the sleep I badly needed I would have tried the Sheraton next door.
The $300 a night price tag and the fact that this is a 'Marriot' I'd expect better. Disappointed.
31 May 2021 5:57
First things first; hotel is in a good location, the room I stayed in was pleasant and quiet. I think there's enough spacing between each room so you don't hear your next door neighbor.
Refrigerator and decent coffee maker. Plenty of parking, and Ruth Chris steakhouse is downstairs.
There is no free Wi-Fi.
The bed is comfortable, the pillows are very flat, the TV is very clear.
Overall decent for one night.
Definitely one of the better hotels in the area.
27 May 2021 21:31
Great classy hotel, very clean and quiet. The restaurant (Ruth's Chris) was opened. Excellent food. We will definitely be going back.
26 May 2021 8:19
Nice place and food was tasty I have enjoyed room service and staffs are just woowww. I am satisfied with this hotel. Bcz hotel is most beautiful and clean
23 May 2021 20:42
The Westchester Marriott seems to be taking advantage of and cashing in on the COVID environment. Pool continues to be closed, concierge lounge closed or does not serve food, and hotel restaurant is closed. Too many other local hotels have found a way to keep pools open and serve food, especially to elite members who spend many nights per year at their hotels. Disappointed with what was once a great hotel. Will stay elsewhere until amenities reopen.
19 May 2021 13:51
This hotel is in need of a renovation. I think it reflects poorly on the Marriott brand. The room was clean, however, hence the two stars.
18 May 2021 18:12
Came to this hotel with my husband for a quick getaway. First room they put me in had a used bar soap. We were then accommodated to another room. My cellphone fell behind the bed when I moved it I found a USED tampon and glasses. Security came upstairs took my name and number, no one has called. I personally called myself today in the evening and was advised that the manager already had my name and number. Currently almost 10pm the next day and still NO phone call. Pretty disgusting cleaning especially during covid. Also have pictures to show proof.

Everything was fine until at 6am when people started to leave our floor via elevator and it’s so freaking loud. Holy hell. It’s 6: 14am as I write this and I can hear in excruciating sound levels every time the elevator opens on our floor. Be sure to request a room away from the elevator. Went from a 4 star experience to a 2 star experience really quickly because of this. Should not be a thing. Extra soundproofing by the elevators should be required and the sound should be lower in general. No disrespect to the hard of hearing. Extremely frustrated at 6: 14AM!
