The Strathallan Rochester Hotel & Spa - a DoubleTree by Hilton

As usual The Strathallan goes above and beyond expectations in service, friendliness, cleanliness and comfort. This is our second time coming to stay for my daughter's birthday weekend and definitely happy we did.
The hotel is located near many local establishments, so even though this stay the restaurant was under renovation, we had plenty of options nearby to go to.

As usual Hatties rooftop bar was a stop on our list. Joe and Mary definitely are fantastic team members and we enjoyed having delicious drinks made by them.
All staff treated us like family and I will definitely recommend this hotel as a great place to stay be it for a weekend getaway or to someone coming in from out of town.

The rooms are nice, I had a room with two different balconies too bad it was so cold would have been nice to use them.

The hotel is infested with rats. The elevator had a very unpleasant sent, so I took the stairs. My room smelled like the kitchen, seems like we share the same air vents. When you turn the hot water on in the bathroom sink it will burn your hands although you have the cold water valve open all the way. I found many dog hairs in my room which I’m allergic too. The staff in the breakfast cafeteria gave me false information about my 15 dollars a day credit so I never got to utilize it. The hotel gets crowded by locals going to the restaurant, so finding a parking is inconvenient for actual guests that are staying at hotel.

Rooms are outdated for the price they are going for. They used to offer bath robes and they do not anymore. There are MANY MANY mice here, do not eat of the breakfast Buffet unless you don’t mind sharing it with the mice. I was there once and the mouse was eating off the buffet then jumped off and ran across my foot. It’s disgusting.

This hotel is nice for those who don’t mind more of a party and busy environment. I booked here for the night before and of my wedding. The night before my wedding I was trying to sleep and it was incredibly loud. The room next to me made it seem like the walls were paper thin. They eventually quieted down which I was thankful for. No sooner did the room above me begin to be so loud, that it truly sounded like they were moving furniture. Security did a round and it eventually quieted down.

Good business hotel. Unfortunately the elevators were not working on the last day, hard to manage luggage from the 8th floor.

I had a great stay here. The room was amazing, the location was convenient for all the stuff I wanted to do in Rochester. I would definitely stay here again if I came back here.

Solid hotel, the rooms are a little dated but it's clean, staff is friendly, and the food and bar have great options!

Have not stayed here but had our wedding here! The staff was absolutely amazing and on top of it! Would 100% recommend using this as your wedding venue

Mold in the shower corners of 4 different rooms I looked at. Elevator need repairs, paint chips on alott of the molding. Over priced with The Hilton name, maybe they should oversee what they attach their name to

On top of the other things such as no guide to tell you about breakfast and other benefits of the hotel. I'm extremely dissatisfied with my room. The air conditioner is broken in the room I'm staying in. Maintenance came five times from 9: 00 p.m. Until 12: 00 am trying to fix it with no luck. I was told there's no rooms available and to try again in the morning to get a new room. Only reason I had that room was so that I could have the same room two nights in a row it was a downgrade from my original room. I've two babies in the room and the heat is supposed to get up to 89° today. This is unacceptable. They did change my room. However this defeated the purpose of me getting this downgraded room to begin with. Because now I have to be inconvenienced to move all of my things that my family has. I also was inconvenienced all night while trying to put down my babies because I wasn't able to with the interruptions. I paid over $300 for my room for one night. I received no refund no discount no upgrade no any other benefit. I'm not impressed and this is 100% unacceptable.

I'm giving this review three stars because while the front desk service was five star worthy, the cleaning crew really needs to be overhauled. They take shortcuts, they leave dirty sheets on the bed, there is a lack of securing the handles on the sliding doors, and they are very abrupt in terms of their cleaning regimen. They go by the hope that the customer does not catch the cleaning infidelities and will merely be oblivious. It's a shame, because the front desk and management were nothing but absolute class to me. If you deal with this hotel, deal with Ryan or Diana, as they will do everything in their power to make sure your stay is wonderful.

My stay was awesome. The staff was very helpful. The room was clean, sheets, bathroom and all. And the food from the restaurant was amazing. A bit expensive but worth it. The only thing is I hope they open the pool back up!

Went Nemorial day weekend. The rooftop Bar and restaurant was closed the whole weekend. I would've enjoyed it better if after my memorial day festivities I could've had the rooftop experience.

Not for the business traveler. I spend just under 225 nights a year with Hilton. This hotel has no airport shuttle, seems more like a party hotel, and are more interested in their spa. The phone number on Hilton does not even go to the front desk. Stay at the Hilton Garden Inn. Same price, they have a nice restaurant and food withing walking distance.

We attended a family wedding. The wait staff was extremely attentive and helpful especially with the elderly grandparents attending and the food was amazing! The rooms extremely clean, comfortable and very little noise was heard.
Our only disappointment was breakfast the next morning!
Upon checking in, the front desk let us know because of our Hilton Honors status, we would receive a complimentary breakfast.
So the next morning, my husband went to ask the details, neither the lady at the front desk or the hostess at the restaurant had any idea of the details! Which was extremely frustrating as while they were Checking on the details, they took three take out orders. Which was extremely frustrating! We were finally told the details and that they were no longer seating anyone. They were short staffed (looked like 1 waitstaff) because there was a large party of maybe 12, and two small tables.
Extremely disappointing……. Expected a higher level of service!

Hotel, rooms and location were perfect. Staff greeted us and always asked if we needed anything. Bartenders and wait staff were great.

Wonderful experience at a great hotel, the Strathallan Rochester Hotel. The front desk associate who checked us is was super professional and made us feel very welcomed. The rooms were clean, the housekeeping was spot on. We will return on our next visit to Rochester.

This hotel was disgusting! I flew in on Wed from Minneapolis via Charlotte, NC.when I arrived in Rochester Airport had to change in the BR because we had a death in our family & I had to be at the wake @ 2pm until 7pm. Then dinner from 8 until 11. I arrived at the hotel at 11: 15 pm. Needless to say I was exhausted! So when I went to the room #514.there was a horrible stench on the bed. I pulled done the sheets & they smelled of sweat & urine! So foul! Dirty sheets! So gross! I called the front desk & they sent this very kind young man to help me change my room to # 424 (a suite). I was so disappointed in this hotel. I worked @ Genesee Hospital for years then moved away. I know how wonderful this hotel used to be, especially Hatties! Would never recommend this place to anyone! Such a scam!

Parking is free, but a fairly long walk. No USB ports, so don't forget your charger. Nothing remarkable considering the price.

The hotel itself is beautiful. Located in a quieter area. When we got there we immediately noticed its a bit of a party place. Lobby restaurant/bar was FULL of people. People were walking around. Some in masks some not. Luckily our room was a ways away from the noise. Our room was spacious and appeared clean. Found big crumbs and party confetti in the pullout couch along with huge disgusting stains on the pullout mattress. Our phone in our bedroom stopped working as well. The actual bed was comfy so our daughter slept with us vs the pullout. Staff was friendly. After checkout we noticed our vehicle had pieces of candy strategically put in different spots. Upon observation we didn't see any other vehicles with candy placed om them. As a woman and the mother of a small child I immediately felt unsafe as there was candy on my vehicle and a car parked a little ways down the line with a man watching us. Luckily I had my husband with me. I'm always worried about human/child trafficking in larger cities and I feel that if my husband were not there, it could've been a different situation. So nice hotel, semi clean rooms, and potentially unsafe area. Probably won't return to this hotel.

I stayed here during my recent trip to Rochester and really enjoyed my stay. The hotel is comfortable and quiet and took special cleaning precautions for covid. The bathroom was also clean and spacious. I especially appreciated the location as it’s close to several shops and restaurants. I’ll definitely be back here soon.

I love the service here, and the views and room sizes are terrific. Until about a year ago I would have added the extra star. But the furniture has gotten really ratty - stained, old, needs replacement - as has the carpeting in the rooms. So I can no longer wholeheartedly recommend.

When I come home I stay at the Strathallan VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED! Had to move to another room had to call front desk several times due to noise after 2am and I was there for 4 days and 3 nights staff was ok just one of the staff members was trying to make my staff comfortable NEVER AGAIN!

This was my first time to stay here. This is seemingly a Nice place, with the exception of not being able to sleep due to the noise all night, that the staff did nothing about, and then upon my departure the leaking water from the rain in the elevator all over my garment bag. Definitely not satisfied with this stay.

Staying here was an enjoyable experience. It's a lovely hotel. Our room had a very comfortable king size bed and a balcony. "Char Steak & Lounge" is the on-site restaurant and has great cocktails and terrific food. It's pricey, but we didn't regret spending the money. Be aware that that the restaurant and roof top bar "Hattie's" have changed their hours/days of operation, which is understandable in these times.

The staff here took excellent care of me from the minute I walked in, and finding me a late meal, to my departure, when I couldn't get a cab. Very friendly staff, clean hotel and nice gym.

A DECENT PLACE TO STAY, BUT THE INTERNET IS NOT SUITABLE FOR WORKING ONLINE AND THE ROOM WE STAYED IN WAS A BIT SHABBY. WE WOULD PROBABLY STAY THERE AGAIN, BUT MOSTLY BECAUSE THE LOCATION WORKS FOR US. THERE IS ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT!

Beautiful beautiful place. I wasn't even a guest there I just went in to dine with a friend and everything is so lovely to look at and high class.

The servers are so rude. The one woman working invited us to the bar then we told to stand at the podium. When the other server brought us our shots she told us to pay them their $36 and leave. Real nice service.

Food was terrible. They charged me $300 for incidentals when the card reader and the receptionist said $50! Rooms are average and dusty. I do not recommend.
