The Standard, High Line

The Standard, High Line is an excellent hotel. The service is excellent. The staff is attentive, helpful, and patient. I had an elevated and enjoyable experience.

Great location within walking distance of some great restaurants and bars. Room was very small (I’m in NY, I get it) but there are no drawers for clothes at all. And the night stand tables are tiny and slant so that everything constantly falls off. Very cool vibe and moody decor, very cool. Great view of the Hudson River and I could see the Statue of Liberty from the room. Friendly staff!

This hotel is just weird. Overall for the price, I can't really complain, as my room was always clean and the service was great (although I never ordered any room service so I can't speak to that).

That being said, this hotel felt like a cheap version of a sad attempt at willy wonka's chocolate factory. The hotel has weirdly decorated and it's not maintained well at all. Everything is breaking down or haphazardly tried to fix. The attendants outfits even look like the one character that got turned into a blueberry in the original movie. The elevators have intense music with oddly looped movies playing on the walls.

The rooms are small and not well kept either. Things are clearly not of high quality and do not have the longevity to keep up witgh the demands of a manhattan hotel. Everything was clean though.

This is clearly a niche hotel that wanted to give you a whimsical sense of opulence and wonder and instead left it feel like a sad attempt reminiscent of my high school musicals.

Staff was attentive and friendly though.

Extraordinary architecture and privileged view of the high line, one of the most fantastic places in NY. One day I will stay there.

I love the Standard High Line. The location can't be beat, and the hotel is so much fun. The rooms aren't huge but the views more than make up for it. Love the restaurant, and especially love all the creative touches, like the animated windows in the elevators and giant Pokemon-inspired statues in the courtyard. The hotel is both upscale and whimsical, and the service was great, other than one sour woman at the check in desk, who was the exception.

Fantastic location in NYC you can walk anywhere from here, great energy, attentive staff, bars restaurants, and lots more.
Definitely a hotel to revisit.

Hotel staff and service was exceptional.
The only negative point would address it to the Bar staff that seem more into looking at their phones or talking to each other rather than attenting guests.
From the moment I sat down at a table, it took over 15 min to be noticed by the staff, and that was only because I approached server and asked her if the Bar was open. Only then she asked for my order.
Overall, I loved the service, ambiance, and location of the hotel. Definitely a must to return.

Room size a bit small but still comfortable. Hotel theme is quirky. View from the room is excellent. We had view of both river and city skyline. They had stocked up bar.

Room also had speakers. No microwave though.

Overall positive experience.

Cool Vibe, Great Location. The staff was awesome! Beer garden… check! Fine dining restaurant…. Check! Room service…. Check! Right on the Hudson, great place to stay! Highly recommend!

We recently travelled for our honeymoon for 5 nights and paid $3800 for a corner view. We had a dreadful customer service experience. To make matters worse they seem to have had my trip advisor review removed! We were not shown to our room until 7.20pm, having arrived at 5pm and given lots of different stories. Communication at the front desk was non-existent. What an anticlimax to our honeymoon. Having had our 100% honest trip advisor review removed without even reaching out to us- proves that they realise how bad our experience looks. I didn’t think I could be further shocked by their unprofessionalism but I have been! This place is all style and no substance.

Traveling in a big group can be tough. Booking them? Even tougher. The whole staff, especially Edgar G, were so accommodating to our many questions and changes in our itinerary. Design n aesthetic is, but the real cherry on top is the staff. Will be booking more here in the future.

The Standard was our first stay on our honeymoon before flying out of JFK and we could not have asked for a better place to start! Stassie at the front desk was awesome and was very welcoming for our two-night stay. We had a corner room with great, sweeping, views of the city. The room had cozy accommodations with slippers and bath robes. There were various shops nearby and we stopped at the Chelsea Market and the Little Island park, that were just feet away from the hotel. We can't wait to stay here again!

Exceptional view of the Newyork Skyline. Don’t expect big rooms. Location perfect for walking the High Line and getting into the heart of Manhattan.

I love staying at the Standard! I stay there all the time. This most recent visit I was in the downstairs cafe and had an amazing experience with Alexis. She provided top notch service, she was proactive, thoughtful, and went above and beyond. I totally recommend that you check out the cafe.

Went for a weekend for a milestone birthday and it didn’t really meet our expectations. Our “river view” room actually faced downtown (you could *see* the river if you squeezed down to one side of the window…) and we had to request privacy panels for the bathroom- which are supposed to be part of the upgraded room we chose- and a maintenance guy brought up a cheap shower curtain on a tension rod, stepped into the tub in his work shoes to hang it, and that was that. I’m pretty positive we had a lesser room than we paid for, but couldn’t be bothered to fight about it. Additionally, my boyfriend tried to arrange some kind of surprise in the room for our arrival (flowers, champagne, etc) and the hotel told him they “don’t do that”. Judging by other reviews, they do. The lobby is a whole other story… it’s more club kid than chic. And speaking of clubs, THERE IS ONE ON THE ROOF. It’s open until 4am, so reserve with caution. Cool elevators, though. The High Line and Chelsea Market are great.

Very nice hotel including the bar/club upstairs. The view was amazing on the 17th floor. It was super hard to contact the front desk and I paid for breakfast to be included, but they still made me pay which was confusing. Cole was a hard worker and he made the environment so friendly.
