The Plaza - A Fairmont Managed Hotel

Excellent attention, very good service, first class rooms and a very good location in the City Center

Aging room, impractical bathroom, not up to the standard of French palaces. Platinum status not taken into account spontaneously. Fortunately the location mitigates all of this.

This place was beautiful and from what I have heard, is like a New York Landmark. I didn't know a ton about the place before visiting, but I am glad we made the stop. We didn't stay here; just stopped in to snag a couple of pictures and see what the hype was about. For sure wouldn't mind staying here to even see more in depth what the place has to offer. Just from the surface level, I could tell why it is one of the more popular places in the area. Very luxurious, I am surprised they just allow the outside public in to check it out but glad they do.

We typically stay at the Four Seasons when visiting NYC, but, this time we thought we’d stay at “The Plaza” to experience a true NYC icon. Wow, what a mistake!

We booked three rooms (a suite and two regular rooms (the suite for us and the two rooms for our daughters). I booked all of the rooms on the same floor (we congitmex with the front desk upon arrival) because we wanted to make sure our daughters were close by. When we arrived (1: 30pm) they told us our rooms would not be ready until 3: 00pm.

The suite was actually ready by 2: 30pm and one of the other rooms was ready at 4: 00pm. The third room wasn’t going to be ready until 6: 00pm (not sure why there was such a delay). Management called at 4: 30pm to tell us that they wanted to move one of our daughters to another floor (because the last room was still not ready) I said absolutely not; that’s when the manager went on to explain that our request (to have all rooms on the same floor - the rooms we booked) was simply a request and that the hotel had the option to move us. I have never been told this at any other hotel.

I told the manager that our daughter would stay with us until the room was ready; at that point the manager suggested that he wasn’t sure when the room would be ready because the previous occupants decided to check out late and he didn’t know when housekeeping would make it ready for new guests. Finally, I said we wanted the room when it was ready, but we wanted a discount on that room since we didn’t get it at 3: 00pm (standard checking time). He agreed and he finally called at 5: 15pm saying to room was finally ready.

In addition, after room service I called to have someone pick up the room service table.we waited two hours and I called again. I became so frustrated that I rolled it into the hall.

Upon departure I asked if the room discount had been applied and that desk manager became frustrated because I wouldn’t accept the charge until someone could show the discount.

Lastly, my daughter had left her necklace on the night stand upon departure and I called the hotel to ask them to check. They said they’d check and call me back (we were already at Penn Station). I received no return phone call and at this point I’m going to have to call again!

This is NOT “The Plaza” we’ve all heard about.it’s a Fairmont property and I’m sure it was better before it was acquired.

It’s was clean when I first came the hotel front desk has some very nice people and the ac works very well But it’s very bad that the hotel does not have no cameras in the hallway at all so if someone was to come in your room and steal your belongings it’s nothing they can do.the bathroom is completely out of date the toilet didn’t flush well and it just look so old

We love our stay! The bedroom was spacious and comfortable. There is a coffee machine and a TV with a great choice of channels, lovely bathroom, lovely bed linen, robes, and towels. It is worth paying extra for a lake view because the view is stunning. Every staff member is so well-trained, they are friendly and helpful and put the guests' needs first. This place is highly recommended!

Love this place. Great place to go at Christmas. Love the bar. Very expensive though. About $35 for a cocktail.

Best hotel so far that I’ve been too.

They have really good steaks and they have really great deserts the architecture is beautiful. If you want to go have a wedding there that would be a very good place to do it. I would prefer doing honeymoons. They have a really good pools I would suggest this for any kind of trip.

Excellent brunch and drinks place to enjoy a healthy meal with a waterfront view. Great service and perfect location. Would recommend to any neighbor or work colleague. Looking forward to my next meal there!

This is an amazing NYC icon. The place is a great place to explore. I always go downstairs after a day at the Central Park Zoo. There are tons of food options and dessert. The Plaza shop has nice souvenirs amongst other things. I highly recommend this place to check out to explore or get food downstairs.

At the time when I was looking for hotel I wasn't sure if this is good place to stay but after my long flight this place is worth it it's just Luxury hotel, beautiful view and customer service is very professional, you got a stay here if your tourist, best place in new York city

Bad service, and the staff speaks of no respect and no one can help. The hotel, if I knew this, did not pay for this service and bad treatment. Most Arab are comeing her and they’re telling me we don’t have hose bidet!

The service was amazing and the rooms were great! Love the atmosphere and had a very cozy stay. Glad I was able to get away for a sec.

We went for tea here with my daughters and it was a first class experience all around. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the tea was perfect. If you are looking for a very special tea experience, this is definitely the place to go.
