The Manhattan at Times Square Hotel

Elevators broke and we were forced to take the stairs or to wait for everything to be fixed. No eta was given and we've been waiting for 39 minutes.

Wonderful hotel in a privileged location, with cozy and comfortable rooms. Hope to return soon.

I was going with the worst expectations because of the reviews I read. I stayed here for 2 weeks.

The place is super well located, you can walk almost everywhere from here. They have a little shop inside the lobby for drinks and snacks but they’re expensive.

Room are tiny but they’re clean when you get the room and they smell a little old but I’m super sensitive to smells and it wasn’t the worst thing. My AC worked which is a huge thing I was scared about, but they don’t have a mini fridge.

The service was not terrible but it’s not the best. I stayed for two weeks and they changed towels and made the bed every day but the bathroom didn’t get clean not even once. Outlet was so far from the bed but I brought a extension cord.

Elevator gets full and takes for ever that’s for sure but it didn’t annoy me. I just left a little before time.

Anyone can walk during the day to the elevator and they don’t even check if they have a key which it isn’t the safest but ironically if your order a delivery they can’t go up. I ordered a delivery once and they didn’t let it go up and someone stole it by the time I came down.

Overall it’s a decent hotel for the price… it’s not an amazing option but I could probably stay again if I was going tight on money or staying for many days.

The hotel's presentation says "This elegant hotel, built in 1962 and with art deco details. " It may have been elegant in 1962, but 61 years later it needs renovation, it is outdated, old, ugly, and with thick, old carpets. You can't even call it "Vintage".
Attention! It has a trap. After having paid the reservation months before. When we get there they tell us that the hotel has some services: Gym, Business center, Wifi, Fresh drinking water, etc. Like all hotels in the world, but in this one they are not included and you have to pay for them separately, regardless of whether you use them or not, you cannot give them up, and they charge you $41/night, deducting them from the card you leave as a deposit.
Thank goodness that our agency had warned us that breakfast was not worth it, and so it was, because it consists of a piece of fruit, a bun wrapped in plastic and an American coffee in a paper cup, so that you can drink it on the street, because you have nowhere to sit.
Very disappointing.
As for the location, it is in the heart of Midtown, on 7th ave.very close to Times sq. The agency recommended it to us because of its good location. We, as a personal opinion after being there, would not have chosen that place because of how bustling it is.

Location was great. Impressed by the uniformed porters that greeted us upon arrival. Desk staff nice and friendly. Was booked for two nights but that didn't stop housekeeping and others from coming to our room a couple of times on day two telling us we should be gone as their papers showed the room unoccupied (front desk confirmed they had us on file as booked for two nights). The room was unexpectedly dated and worn. Walls were a nicotine yellowish brown, the furniture was scuffed, sticky and damaged. Our bed was sloped on the one side with a significant pitch making it necessary to hang on to the edge to avoid sliding to the floor. I tried not to look too closely at the carpet as I didn't want to see anything that can't be unseen. No hand soap for the sink provided, nor face cloths, nor hand towels. Luckily there were a couple of bath towels for two of us to share and we were able to pump a bit of body wash out of the bathtub dispenser to wash our hands. Tried to call down to get some supplies but the room phone didn't work, had to go down to the busy front desk to put in the request. They said they'd send someone up with the missing items. Nobody came. After going out to see some sights and a late dinner and still no supplies sent to room. I made another in person request and was able to procure a bar of soap to tide us over until housekeeping could follow-up with the towels. Late that night we were gifted with a single face cloth. Our 'bounty' was short-lived as the following morning when housekeeping tidy'd up the room the bath towels and face cloth were removed and replaced with two hand towels. Best part of the room was the extremely large tv. For the high end price of the room and all of the additional fees added to it, I expected a space that had at least been refreshed in the last 20 years.

ABSOLUTE WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! I don't usually leave bad reviews but I can't even make this stuff up. The lobby was really pretty but that's pretty much where the positive ends. When I got to my floor I thought I had entered a nasty roach motel. The room is EXTREMELY dated with mold above the light fixture in the bathroom and paint falling off the ceiling. Our room was probably 62 degrees despite the thermostat saying it was 98. I'm in the HVAC industry so easily realized the stat was broken, called the front desk to let them know and went out for dinner. Got back, they had just turned the AC off and didn't fix the thermostat so I had no control of the temperature and then got way too hot overnight. I called the front desk 5 times and no one answered. I gave up and went to bed only to get extremely overheated overnight. I went to the front desk in the morning and told them it was still not working and they sent someone up again. I returned back back after being out all day to my room being freezing cold again. Again I called the front desk multiple times. No answer. I went down to the front desk and they sent an engineer up who proceeded to tell me that the thermostat was broke so if I want to turn AC on or off I have to call them and they have to do. He also told me there is no heat in the building this time of year (which is fine if the AC hadn't been running all day). So if I want my room colder, I haveto call the front desk (which will never answer) and they have to send someone up to turn on the AC and then turn it off.

And the mattress, I might as well be sleeping on a piece of plywood. The box spring underneath is a queen so the King mattress overhangs the box spring.

My advice, the location may be nice but literally, stay ANYWHERE else!

Hotel has a great location, excellent room service, everything is in order. I will recommend my friends to stay at this hotel.

Right on Times Square, the location is perfect if you want to be right in the middle of it - staff typically American, extremely friendly and accommodating/helpful - thanks for that! - Unfortunately, the room was really getting old, a bit shabby, no shower gel/soap in the bathroom a room with 2 queen size beds - one mattress was quite German - the 2 worked.since I was alone so I was lucky.

Only good location the rest disastrous
hotel leaves a lot to be desired.
On top of that, not even a minibar in the room.

Great location, close to two major avenues, close to Broadway. Perfect for those who want to discover new places, the hotel is super cozy, the room services are perfect, highly recommended!

This hotel is old, wallpaper peeling, bathrm sink tap didn't stop running. They don't give you washcloths. The employees were very friendly and very helpful. We walked all over from our hotel and it was great. Close to stores, restaurants and more.

Room was not very well kept. Wallpaper was peeling off the walls, lots of mold in the bathroom. However the bed was clean and comfortable.

The room was beautiful, and the hotel is close to everything. They were very helpful and the service was wonderful. When I return it will definitely be at this hotel, it's totally worth it!

Of the many hotels I've been to, I would definitely recommend this one.

The location was perfect within walking distance of everything. The staff were great, very friendly and helpful. The housekeeper on our floor remembered the second day I had coffee and put extra in our room.
- Rooms were a little dated but super clean. Our mattress needed to be replaced. We were informed that the hotel was about to receive an update. Would definitely stay there again
