Stayed two nights for the convenience to my events. Has 3 issues, one of which was resolved (TV didn't work). The room was much too warm to sleep comfortably and the thermostat didn't work. The bathtub also did not drain well so you end up standing in water. The bar, coffee, and front desk were friendly but the problems were not resolved.

Not a hotel review but a review of the grounds by a guy who used to live nearby and really enjoyed grabbing a coffee and being on some grass in a nice quiet spot. It’s a good place to wile away some spring weekend hours and if you can squeeze your way into the hotel a bit there are some fantastic old seminary halls and rooms to explore

I wanted to love this hotel as we used to live in the neighborhood and walked by it almost everyday. I wish I read reviews. The hotel is run down and the AC didn’t work. Apparently the AC goes out about every two weeks. With 90 degree weather and $500/night rates, that is unacceptable. We checked out early and switched to The Standard Hotel.

If you are a fan of old mysteries, where the uncle kicks the bucket and everyone's a suspect, set in old rustic hotels then this is the place for you.

The decor was old. And I don't mean antique. The chair was so broken and I was scared to sit in it. The curtain had holes. The carpet was dirty. The elevator carpet looked like the spot where the mystery began. The bathroom light dimmed when I turned don the shower. The air conditioner clanked.

Why didn't I leave? I was only there for one night. I slept with one eye open. Well, truth is I hardly slept.

Not worth the cost. Not worth the nightmares.

The courtyard is a sanctuary in the hustle and bustle of NYC. Get your laptop, grap a drink from the cute coffee shop and have a relaxed work day here.

This hotel meets all the requirements for a business traveler or a tourist. Free WiFi, fridge in the room, comfortable bed. The only thing that bothered me a little was the darkness of the room. But this is sort of expected at a boutique hotel.

AC in room was broken (room was 80 degrees) with no other rooms available. The only thing I was offered to rectify the situation was a floor fan that did not do even remotely enough. Ended up leaving for a different place.

This is a really cool hotel to stop at for a drink. Relaxing atmosphere, and the bathrooms were clean.

Pillows like cardboard, no water bottle in the room, tv remote didn’t work, old school room phone that didn’t work. Employees were nice though.

Edit: water from the tub was brown!

I stayed here in February and was boiling. The AC didn’t work. It was very hot in the unit and the windows didn’t have screens. You couldn’t even get room service, or water, or glass of wine. Good coffee shop in lobby and quaint touch to the place, but overall lacked major comfortability. No gym either.

Just a shout out to the manager and customer service team at the The High Line Hotel. My wife and I had a two night stay planned this week. Unfortunately our dog became ill and we needed to go home suddenly. They were kind enough to refund us for the night we didn't use. Thank you so much! (BTW the dog was very happy to see us and he seems to be covering from his issue.) We were sad to leave because it's such a special hotel-great rooms, great service, great location. We'll be back soon!

Stayed here on a work trip and had a lovely stay. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the room was plenty large for my 4-day stay.

The best part of the hotel has to be the front dining area with the matching, social media-friendly pink flower front arch and British double decker bus.

Its a shame that they've let this place go. What a great location. Would say the service was unfriendly, but not sure you can call it "service" when the receptionist sees you struggling to lug your entire families bags in and can't even fake a courtesy jog to the door to help you out. They've done away with having a restaurant (no breakfast for a $500-800/night hotel room?) which kind of table stakes. Room are "shabby chic" without the chic (had to do a complete shoulder drop and ram the thing anytime I want to close it.and this was the top suite in the hotel! If this were < $300/night I'd keep mum but I can't help but say something at this price

4.5. Great hotel in the heart of Chelsea. King room was adequate with lots of charm. We purposely stay here for the location and ambience. Check in/out was a breeze. They held our bags for a few hours after check out. The coffee bar in the lobby had excellent coffee for a decent price. The outside cocktail bar was delightful with lots of seating and typical expensive Chelsea drinks. In room A/C worked well, road noise was present but we brought a white noise machine and it helped. We will stay here again.

I spent my anniversary with my fiancé at the Highline Hotel and we had an amazing night! Check in was a breeze, the lobby and entrance was decorated so nicely and the staff was friendly. We had drinks at the lobby bar before going out to dinner and the manager, Juliana, gave us local recommendations.

The bed was SO comfy we didn’t want to get out of it in the morning and the room was so spacious especially for a NYC hotel room. Great location, views of the highline and a quick walk over to Chelsea Market.

In the morning, we stopped at the coffee bar, Intellegentsia, and I had the most delicious latte (avena latte, highly recommend trying)!

10/10 would stay again, it’s also a nice touch that there are cute dogs in the lobby most of the time ̈

Similar to some of my past relationships, I could categorize this as "I slept here, so did lots of other people. It was noisy at night. "

Rooms don't feel clean but thankfully the linens on the bed do. The building is pretty old and as much as I appreciate them keeping all the original architectural features- moulding, windows, floors, rugs, I do feel like some of the fabrics in the space could use a good cleaning.
The curtains don't have a rod to help open and close the windows, so you can see how grimey it got over the years. As for the area rug in the room, who knows when the last time someone washed it
The shower tile and shower head are moldy due to having no ventilation in the bathroom. At a $500 a night rate it's pretty disappointing.
Oh, coffee is pretty good ($5+)

If you can imagine arriving after you paid $900 per night for a room and at 95 degrees last Friday- there was absolutely no air conditioner.a room that was considered deluxe King but offered no seating for our guests.and a manager that refused to make it right and offer help as we were terribly disappointed after contemplating between two hotels. It was this one and the Chelsea hotel. The manager was rude and unapologetic as she took no concern that they had to last minute provide a window air conditioner unit which was so noisy and blew warm/cool air on my head, and offered no upgrade to another room that would provide the decency commanding the price of $900 a night on the room. The room had no pictures, no chairs for our 2 kids to visit and was such a disappointment that we feel compelled to share this with you. The rug had holes in it.it was in need of major construction and can you imagine the manager not helping to defer these inconveniences. I am in disbelief.

The service with the Hotel Helpers was prompt, the towels were good, and the bed had clean sheets. What you might expect for a $900 per night room. But the windows were dirty- you could barely see out of them and I had to ask for a coffee maker and it came with no pods, which she explained i can purchase at a CVS a few blocks away. Really? Can you imagine?
Perhaps if this was a hotel that cost $100 dollars a night but at the premium prices to be so arrogant not to offer help, to be so rude not to understand the meaning of a good service or polite accommodations still sits with me.

I remain so upset by the experience. Please do not stay at this hotel which boasts a great coffee shop at super high prices for bitter coffee filled with enthusiasts clinging to the entrance of the hotel blocking the entrance way.
The shower was good, the towels were good, the service bus boys were so nice, but the manager was so lacking ins judgement and compassion that it was sincerely insulting.

I hope that you do not stay at this hotel when a lovely hotel for similar fees is right up the street.the Chelsea Hotel is the boutique hotel we were in need of with a wonderful restaurant called El Quijote which was so delicious.

When your children move to the city and they live in Chelsea.you try to find what is close to them.sometimes you debate too much and choose the wrong place. This was the absolutely wrong place! Do not stay at the High Line.
There are no photos to add of this really bad experience.but Please note. We have traveled to so many places, and when the quality is lacking the manager usually makes it right, some how. But this manager was absolutely inadequate-rude and unapologetic.

I hope you use this as sincere advise- I rarely write reviews, but I had to warn you all of this Bad decision to stay at the High line.
Do Not stay there.you deserve better.

TERRIBLE! I stay in various NYC hotels and this is by far the trashiest and worst stay I have had. The room is far worse than photos - that’s why you won’t see any photos of the bathroom. Not to mention, it was 85 inside the room and the AC didn’t work at all and they brought me a room fan as a solution. Awful experience and service. We had to check into another hotel last minute

Needs some upgrades, furniture in my room looked a bit trashed, I understand it’s antiques but a lot of it looked chewed up.
Also the hardwood floors were pretty dirty. Only one bathrobe in a suite and no extra pillows? Sorry if I sound like a princess but for that much money it should relatively nice.

After finding the elegant Cookshop bar to be tad noisy, we chose High Line Hotel ‘s bar for a conversation with a friend I hadn’t seen in eighteen months and to meet his new and lovely parvenu ; the bar focuses on just a few drinks and gets them right, their young barkeep is friendly and professional; Their spitfire drink suits my Indian spicy palette; it’s got zip and dash: Mezcal, Grapefruit Juice, Jalapeño, Lime & Red Clay Spicy Salt Rim! The warmly lit lobby has interesting artifacts but it’s paintings are curiously about outer space. I attach photos of places that surround this hotel.

Street level room for same price. Up all night by the steers. The windows are not soundproof proof.

There are no waters provided in the guestroom. This is my biggest problem there is not much around here so you have to Uber eats for people to deliver water especially on a rainy day. The hotel doesn’t even offer you one bottle of water so if you need to take your medication immediately when you get to your hotel after a long, gout traveling, you have to wait for somebody to come and deliver that to you.

The people at the front do not deliver that to your room. My Uber eats delivery people were having problems because the front desk people word rejecting my orders because they did not feel like delivering the food to my room. Because my Uber eats delivery guy did not speak good English is hotel and hospitality members of this hotel. We’re not taking the time to figure it out that I was in fact, guest and were saying they did not know what this was and sending it away so I had to go and try and chase it down and called down to the front desk and explain that I had medication and I needed to take it immediately and I needed that water delivered right now.
The attitude that I was given was OK I guess we will do it for you just this once but normally we don’t do this for guests which is weird because I’m pretty sure this is a four star hotel and I wasn’t asking for extravagant paveer I was asking for basic service. You get this kind of service and above at motel threes now go check them out it’s actually better there so this is extremely disappointing. They care was just not there on any level. My room was cold and I couldn’t get the heat up. It was loud the entire night and the hotel staff was incredibly rude. Was it worth the almost $500 after taxes now?

Stayed here early January and the staff are yet to refund the $50 the put on hold to my credit card. They keep telling me it's a bank issue at my end (although they don't have any problem taking the money from my credit card). My bank has no information on a charge back, but they see both the charge by the hotel for the $50 and also the cost for the room. Essentially they have just taken $50 off me and are trying to pass the buck to someone else.
