I came Into the hotel to ask about information for something and the receptionist was rude and not warm or welcoming. He seemed as if I was bothering him and was super sassy. Honestly everyone seems not interested in being there and not welcoming. As I was being super polite.

Highly recommend, staff is outstanding and the hotel itself is gorgeous and in the perfect area of town.

I've stayed at the Greenwich Hotel half a dozen times.

Generally, service levels are very high. There is a general "famous people stay here, and you aren't one of them" from a lot of the staff. I don't love that (I suspect nobody does). But, it just means you'll be getting good service with a bit of "tude" from someone whose facial expression says that they're put out to be talking to one of the proles.

Location is only alright. If you have meetings at Goldman Sachs or Citi, excellent. If you have meetings in Midtown and want to take the subway.meh.

Rooms are great. They execute the boutique hotel vibe very well. Beds are comfortable. Bathrooms are well appointed. Sitting area/living room was almost spacious.

Room service is alright. But in this neighborhood, you're making a mistake if you don't go out for dinner. Even if you're visiting on business and traveling solo. If you're asking how room service was, I'd say you're asking the wrong question. Ask for a restaurant recommendation.

The gym is nice, and larger than you would anticipate.

The spa is incredible. One of my favorite spas in the world. The ambiance is unique - and transports you to a different place, away from the stress and chaos of whatever brought you to the Big Apple. The service is great. My only complaint (and I'm going from memory here) is no 120 minute options for massages. Some spa say that's too long for the therapist. But, therapists at other spas seem to survive. I think more likely charging the same price for a 100 minute massage as other spas charge for a 120 minute massage makes more money. In the end, I'll still pay it - it remains one of my favorite spas in the world, despite the shenanigans.

After some recent bad experiences at other hotels in the area we wanted to try something top of the pops and The Greenwich did not disappoint!
An amazing NYC hotel experience that is understated from the outside but the service, the rooms, the whole experience is second to none.
Will definitely be booking again on our next trip to the city
(The only thing that was a bit of a let down was the breakfast in the restaurant downstairs, they were out of a few key breakfast ingredients)

Amazing experience, as much for the amenities as for the service. Great location too. Breakfast on point.

A really lovely hotel, it's got a nice friendly feel about the place, attentive staff, relaxing bedrooms in the great area of Tribeca for the Greenwich Street selection of restaurants includingthe hote's one. If you're able to get a room at this hotel you will not be disappointed.

One of the best hotels in the world The staff is outstanding and the service is top notch! The spa and gym are great too

Beautiful hotel with impeccable customer service! The spa experience was heavenly! A must visit for a luxury Tribeca experience! 10 out of 10, I highly recommend

Beware! Discriminatory and unscientific vaccine policies STILL in effect. All guests 5 years and older (!) must be vaccinated and boosted. Truly disgusted and shocked by this hotels decision to uphold such a false, discriminatory and disgusting policy.

Arrived at the Greewich with my spa appointments booked, looking forward to a relaxing few days leading up to the premier of Turandot at the Metropolitan Opera. Arrived at 11a and the colleague at the desk informed me that the room was not ready, but that he would contact me with updates from Housekeeping, verifying my phone number for text updates. Went out into TriBeCa to get a manipedi, returning at 2p; aside from no updates from housekeeping, the room still was not ready! Called the St. Regis, asked if they had a room at the Suite level available, they confirmed, asked if I was on the way, and said the room would be ready in 20 minutes. Cancelled my appointments and reservation at the Greenwich, and moved over to the St. Regis. Will not return.
19 August 2022 18:31
Discriminatory vaccine mandates still in effect? ! We have researched many hotels in the area, this is the only one we found with this ridiculous unscientific policy!

I wish we would have stayed somewhere else. For the price, this is a VERY old, barely decent hotel. The floors and bed creak any time you move or walk around the room. You will hear EVERYTHING the people around you do in every room (our party had multiple rooms and each room was noisy this way hearing constant banging of cabinets or the water running and the loud plumbing).

The actual room is lackluster and feels antiquated and over-used. The sofa has stains on it. The bed side table is rusted and obviously hasn't been replaced in years. The light switches all around the room are a cool aesthetic but are visibly very very dirty. The overhead chandelier has stains and dust visible on it. If you have any kind of back pain, the bed will not be suitable for you. It's extremely uncomfortable. The mattress topper is thin and the pillows are even thinner. They brought 'thicker' pillows up that were the exact same with a different color pillowcase. 5 of these pillows are 1 normal pillow.

Room service is meh. Extremely expensive for what you get and little to no vegan options. Also they have no overnight room service on wednesday or thursday nights as “the chef is off” so don’t expect any nosh on those nights. This hotel is all vibe, no sustenance. I'm super disappointed.

Beautiful hotel but my main comments are;

We had a daily breakfast credit, which we forwent because it was not good. At all.

You can’t get room service or even a beer after 11pm.

The in-room snacks and mini fridge were very basic options you could literally buy at a cvs.

Dumplings are excellent. I can't wait to try other things from the menu. I look forward to many delicious lunches. The staff are very welcoming and the service was snappy.

We had a perfect weekend stay. Incredible service, beautiful and comfortable rooms, and an amazing spa experience.

This 5-star hotel is tucked away in a quiet block in Tribeca. In my opinion, best hotel in NYC. Gorgeous living areas for hotel guests only on first floor, including jaw dropping courtyard area. Hotel rooms are big, spacious and quiet equiped with giant windows that can open. Bathroom is maybe the showstopper with gorgeous tiling, soaking tub and designer shower. Hotel staff was kind, corteous and welcoming. Loved my stay here and will be coming back for celebrations. If you don't want room service for breakfast, walk 2 blocks over to Bubby's, nearby Soho Diner is also good and within walking distance.

If a six stars review would have existed, that is what this hotel deserve. Fantastic location. Exceptional hotel and team. Rooms are nice, clean and so charming. It was not my first stay there and I was wondering how it will be in this post-pandemic period. Just like before: fantastic!

My stay was ok. For a hotel of that caliber, I expected the staff members to be very friendly. Some staff members were friendly, however the one male I interacted with the most wasn’t friendly and acted like I was bothering him when I asked for a simple request. I wasn’t even going to put a public review up. After my stay I filled the survey out, privately, and instead of management reaching out to simply apologize (or not reaching out at all, which would have been fine) this is the email I received from the general manager Phillip:

“ Thank you for your repsonse to our email - whilst we are all truly, truly sorry if you felt the staff were not friendly we are confident thay your preceived motive is simply not the case.
With respect”

Saying “perceived motive is simply not the case” is assuming their staff is perfect. Sadly, that email response is a perfect encapsulation of the attitude I got from that one staff member. I wasn’t even going to post a public review till I got this insulting email response. If you don’t want to know the truth from your customers and take accountability don’t ask us to fill your surveys after we’ve spent thousands of dollars at your establishment.

Loved it but would I stay here again? Not sure. My husband and I are in our 30s and stayed here August 2020 during COVID. We loved the hotel, the atmosphere, the safety measures and absolutely loved the dining in the garden! My only reason to question staying here again is the beds. Despite having a cushion on top they weren’t comfortable and we slept poorly. Otherwise we loved everything about this place and are happy we Finally stayed here.

I have both positive feedback and suggestions for improvements.on the positive side the staff was very friendly, rooms were clean and with modern decorations. On the other hand, the parking was overpriced by at least $10 and the breakfast needs drastic improvements. The oats were uncooked (it was clear they put them in hot water in the morning and expected them to self cook), there were no other milk options except for 2%, there were no non dairy milk options (almond, soy), and there was no peanut butter for the toast. There should have been more yogurt options (plain, greek, etc) and the coffee was very cheap and barely tolerable. These are big things which other hotels in this class (even Hamptons) do a much better job with. The location was good but the surrounding neighborhood didn't seem very safe.

Comfortable lounge, quiet enough to have a good conversation and enough folks around not to feel weird. Good drinks, pricey, but a nice place for an evening to catch up with friends
18 March 2020 21:36
This place is amazing. The service is so friendly. When I walked into the room I was so pleased. The room had a great view and it smelled like it had just been cleaned. I would highly recommend The Greenwich Hotel. Two thumbs up from me.

This is my favorite hotel in the world. I have been to hotels in many countries and many cities and this is the top of the list. I hate to even call it a hotel because staying at the Greenwich Hotel is like staying in a beautiful home. Every room is warm, welcoming, comfortable and furnished perfectly. Each room is unique but all are equally charming. The beds and linens are top notch. Efforts are made to stock NYC-based products which I love. Robert DeNiro has his artwork all over the hotel and it is so interesting to see. The staff is just incredible. They are so nice and helpful and they create an atmosphere of comfort instead of formality and stuffiness. The drawing room is the most beautiful common room that is limited to guests of the hotel where you can stay all day or all night and have food and/or cocktails. You can sit in front of a fireplace and read a book or sit on the couches and chairs with friends and enjoy an evening without ever having to leave the hotel. There is also a beautiful private courtyard adjacent to the drawing room if you prefer to be outside. If you are rich, famous, or a celebrity, nobody bothers you and if you are an ordinary person like me, nobody treats you any differently then the celebrity next to you. The spa on the lower level with the swimming pool is also just a wonderful place for relaxation and fantastic services. You stay at the Greenwich Hotel to step back from the bustle of NYC and balance it with comfort and tranquility. I just cannot say enough about this hotel and thank the staff for keeping it so beautiful and for treating people so nicely and with such respect.

The Greenwich Hotel was extremely clean and comfortable. Really gave a Sherlock Holmes-y like feel. Has a spa, room service, a bar and the best concierge and front desk folks.
09 November 2019 23:42
It was around 12am and Locanda has already stopped serving food. So We popped into the Greenwich Hotel on Saturday night to grab a drink in the lobby while deciding where to grab dinner at nearby.

I have been here well over 10 times to have drinks and dinner/apps. I also have stayed as a guest at the hotel numerous times on staycations-Jay was always amazing at the front (he was not there last night as I’m sure my experience would’ve been completely difference!). Up until moving further away uptown earlier this year, Kayla, in the spa, was my go-to for my waxing needs for 2 years. EVERY TIME had been in this beautiful place, my experience was more than great. However after last night, I will never be back. I was mortified and embarrassed at how your staff treated us as we walked in, sat in the lobby, and refused us beverages by never coming to take out order.

As we walked through the front door i smiled at the men at the front desk, “are you still serving drinks? ” 1 mans reply: <eye roll> “drinks? Uh yes”. Me internally: That was strange! “Ok great! We’ll grab a seat and some drinks! ” 7 MINUTES LATER the same rude man came by and gave us three drink menus (there were 4 of us) and no waters. Again, very strange. All of us being in hospitality eye balled each other after he hurried away with out a greeting or dropping waters at the table. He NEVER CAME BACK. Another 10 mins went by and we asked the front desk for a server as we were ready to order drinks. Front desk assured us, he’ll be right over. 6 more mins went by and nothing. We debated, perhaps we should give him more times. No. 23 mins of sitting with no water and no server is embarrassing and rude. It was a clear way of the server saying we were not welcome. We packed up and left - mind you the same front desk gentleman saw us come in and then saw leave without even acknowledging the fact we weren’t served upon.

I brought three new friends to your hotel because I loved the warmth of the service and the quality of the food and beverages, in the past. We love hotels, not just for their food and drinks, but for their ambiance, mood, service and art. I had talked to highly of The Greenwich Hotel & have always brought back friends as they visited or suggested they stay with you all if I couldn’t host them at my place.

I will never be back.

Unless you want to overpay and enjoy pretentiousness, this is the best hotel in NYC. It is very expensive but worth it for a special occasion. Celebrities are usually sighted in the courtyard where mixologists create works of art exclusively for hotel guests. Extra touches like the handmade local soap and the wonderful smell of the whole place make it over-the-top.

The staff is very nice at front desk accept for Jay he should not be in a position of management he is rude and unprofessional and did not try in any way to help. This is supposed to be a 5 star hotel and it can not be if it can not accommodate simple ’s requests. I stayed there for three nights a week ago and my Studio suite had curtains that did not black out the light. I asked management for a solution after the first night. The second night they have place cardboard in the window that fell down and only in one window not both. What were they thinking. The third night I complained again and they put up fabric but only in one window. If you are like me and want a room that is black, a simple request forget this hotel. I returned a week later and was assured by sales manager that the room I would get had blackout shades and would be dark. It worse then the first room as the shades don’t cover the windows and the curtains are not blackout. I sent photos to management showing them they light after another night without sleep and they offered me a $100 credit. Give me a break this is a five star hotel? If you can not accommodate VIP guests requests just say so. I did not sleep for four nights. I have stayed at 5 star hotels around the world and if they can not accommodate your request say so. Don’t ruin their stay. Regardless 5 star without being able to provide a dark room if a guests wants it? Come on. The hotel spa is very nice Pavel and Stan are excellent. The hotel should not be a leading hotel of the world

My favorite hotel in New York. A great boutique hotel with an amazing spa, lobby and outdoor courtyard. The location is unbeatable, right in the middle of Tribeca.

Cozy hotel in a great neighborhood. Friendly, helpful, attentive staff who love what they do. They go out of their way to accommodate you. 5 star luxury service.pool and spa are a great place to unwind and leave the hustle of the city walking distance from the World Trade Center and Memorial.

Of all the hotels in the City this is by far my favorite. It transports you out of the chaos into a serene oasis.

Our stay at the Greenwich was dreamy. Hotel amenities were all splendid. The staff was outlandishly professional. Must stay when traveling in the east coast.

My wife & I spent the weekend at the Greenwich & had a wonderful time. The service was fantastic - some of the best I've experienced in NY. The hotel itself was comfortable, and our room was great. Some of the design is a bit dated - particularly in the bedroom, but overall I have nothing but great things to say about the Greenwich.
04 January 2019 20:11
As a 5 Stars Hotel it provides everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay, if you are in the city for business or leisure it puts you on a great spot in the city (Tribeca), where you will find yourself right in the middle of the City and with the types of rooms they have you'll have a lot to choose from, they are very comfortable and will meet all your needs. Great meals provided by Locanda Verde, italian restaurant run and owned by Chef Andrew Carmellini.

Classy great staff, comfortable elegance low key once you get pass the sea of thirsty paparazzi hounding the front door.

Love the small hotel charm plus all the folks who works here are so nice and they've all worked here for a long time!

Next to Tribeca Film Center, and surrounded by shops and dining options, this sophisticated hotel in Tribeca is a 4-minute walk from a subway station and 5 minutes' walk from the Hudson River.

Stylish rooms with eclectic decor and marble bathrooms feature free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs, plus complimentary minibars; some have soaking tubs. Suites add living rooms; some come with fireplaces. Opulent upgraded suites include kitchens and dining rooms. Room service is offered.

There's an acclaimed Italian restaurant, and a posh lounge, as well as a luxe spa, a gym, and a heated pool lit by lanterns and enclosed in the walls of a Japanese farmhouse.

I visited the Greenwich Hotel with a friend to check out the rooms and amenities. The general atmosphere of the hotel was relaxing, luxurious, and somewhat old-fashioned in the best way. The rooms are modern yet classy, have a wonderful woodsy smell (like a sauna, not a cabin), and the service is wonderful. There's a gorgeous garden courtyard where you can have breakfast and apparently a Japanese garden in the spa as well. If only I could afford to stay here!
