The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel

I’ve had the pleasure of staying at the Carlyle twice and I will be staying there again in April. The staff at The Carlyle are exceptional and have, thus far, treated me as a VIP. I have traveled all over the world and never have I felt as welcomed and special as I do when I stay at The Carlyle. I’m no where near monogrammed pillow status but I hope to be someday! I love this hotel and will never stay anywhere else in the city!

Super iconic hotel near Central Park. We were very lucky to be able to get in with only a 15 min wait. Nice menu and cocktail selection!

My friend and I enjoy taking afternoon tea whenever we travel and were excited to take afternoon tea at the historical and luxurious Carlyle. When I called to make a reservation, I notified the host of my friend's gluten allergy and requested a GF tea service for her. The host said it was no problem.

When the tea trays arrived at our table mine had three beautiful plates of sandwiches, desserts and scones. However, I was very embarrassed to see that my friend's GF tray had one plate of sandwiches and fruit - most certainly not a $90+ experience. We were so disappointed.

This was not the type of experience one would expect at The Carlysle. If The Carlyle cannot accommodate a GF tea in the traditional sense, I deeply wish that I would have been notified at the time of reservation and we would have simply gone elsewhere.

If there are others that are GF but want a 5-star afternnoon tea experience, I would recommend The Plaza. They make wonderful sandwiches, scones and desserts gluten-free options at their tea.

We went to see the paintings in the cafeteria because we are visiting New York and a very rude man didn't let us in because we were wearing shorts. We were just talking about how in this country no one was discriminated against because of their way of dressing.

Only the spa is worth the effort.
The walls are so thin that you can hear neighbors' phone conversations from your bed. The icing being the work at the bottom of the hotel from 7 p.m. To 11 p.m. With the jackhammer. Without being notified. Shame to find that out for yourself. Another wasted 5 star.

The staff was great. The room was wonderful. The bed was so comfortable. It is in a great location with great restaurants close by. I will only stay here when I come back to NYC.

The best hotel in NYC. Gorgeous rooms, lovely staff and perfect location. Quiet luxury in the busy City.

Absolutely wonderful experience. We felt like family. The Concierge team was best-in-class. The Carlyle will now be part of our family legacy and hence consider it our second home.

Tried to go to the bar in the hotel but the wait was too long. They don't take resos so come a bit early and dress up for a sophisticated vibe. I'll be back!

Loved it- the staff was wonderful and the service was top notch. Our suite was beautiful-consistent with the classic luxury feel of this hotel. Love the location for a quiet retreat from the busy city. Will definitely be back and recommend to others.

Here's what I can say about The Carlyle.it is the best hotel on this planet!
From the moment you step inside the lobby you are transformed back into time, to a world that is of an era that we can only find in the movies on TCM.
The entire staff treats every guest as if they were the only person staying in the hotel.
Each room is decorated to make the guest feel as if they had lived there for years. They are comfortable and inviting but with a touch of that special Carlyle charm that you can not find anywhere else. Room service offers 5 star quality dining, paying attention to any dietary needs as well as desires that are not offered on the menu, they will accommodate.
I am a born and bred New Yorker now living in Los Angeles, but when I arrive the Carlyle I feel as if I had never left NYC, and I will not stay anywhere else.

Wonderful as always. I won't stay anywhere else while in New York. The front of house staff, housekeeping, doormen, and everyone else makes this the best place to stay.

I had an exceptional stay at The Carlyle Hotel in
NYC. The warm reception, elegant rooms, superb dining, and top-notch facilities made it an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend it for a luxurious and comfortable stay.

Given travel restrictions and so on, we haven't been to NYC in about 4 years. While many things have changed in the city, The Carlyle remains the most professionally managed and welcoming hotel that we have stayed at in New York - it is one of the 4 or 5 hotels in the world that we truly love to visit. The reason is the Carlyle team - always welcoming, helpful and professional - no request is too big, no request is too small - they make everyone feel at home.

Fantastic stay at the iconic Carlyle Hotel! Highlights included killer martinis at Bemelman's Bar and an elegant dinner of caviar, oysters, branzino, salmon and excellent wines at the restaurant. Our room was super stylish and comfy, decorated perfectly with just the right coffee table books, art and mid century modern furnishings. Perhaps also boasting the greatest hotel sinks in the game, and a wonderful shower as well:)

Bemelmans Bar was fabulous! Rob Mosci on the piano and a classic cocktail was all I needed for a legendary birthday celebration. Dinner at Dowlings topped off the evening in style. Evening was delicious and the service was first class!

Ate lunch at Dowlings (a restaurant in the hotel). Service was solid but not attentive/anticipatory enough for The Carlyle. Food quality was excellent, of course, and my guest raved about the quality of the bread, olive oil, and butter as well as the two courses eaten (Painted Hills Carpaccio and the Hamburger). I had a very filling Faro and Kale salad with chicken breast.

The decorl was lovely. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The restaurant was excellent and the bar is superb.

The Carlyle provided us a perfect home away from home for a long weekend in Manhattan. We were made to feel so special by the hotel staff and in the restaurant and bar. We loved Bemelman’s! The facility itself is just beautiful and so well maintained. We can’t wait to come back!

From pre-check in to check out, everyone was delightful and polite. The rooms were sparkling clean. I could actually relax and sleep. I have stayed at many of the boutique hotels on the upper East and West side. While they were all very good hotels and stays, I will most certainly be returning to The Carlyle on my next trip.

Overall amazing stay! Breakfast was lovely! Concierge Gerrel (sorry if i misspell his name) was awesome, Angel, Breakfast manager and his team was amazing. Thank you to all housekeeping team job!

Ten out of ten!

The staff is unbelievably kind and hospitable. We were here for my wife’s birthday and they delivered us cake and flowers to our room which was an amazing surprise. Made me look like husband of the year but the kudos goes to the fine people here at the Carlyle.

Great location on the upper east side one block away from Central Park. Walkable to ANYTHING you may want to get into.

Possibly the best service I’ve ever received at a hotel. I would highly recommend staying here. The food and bar were also excellent.

Recently stayed at The Mark and thought we would stay at The Carlyle to compare. Really no comparison as The Carlyle is dark and dank with a slight unpleasant smell. It also had no AC in the elevators or hallways and is in desperate need of a major interior lift.
The Mark was much better in every category.
Bemelmans was very nice though.

The staff are outstanding…. So courteous and professional and go the extra mile.

Design work is elegant and classy.

Bemelman’s is so much fun!

Fabulous location for our purposes, lovely spa and service. Delicious food and gracious ambiance. Expensive, worth it.
