I’m not made of money and as a single parent every penny is precious, it has taken years to save for this holiday on checking I was asked to pop my card in to the card reader it was never explained to me why but I had in my head it would be a safe guarding for the hotel incase we broke something or made a mess in the room, which I would never do. On checking my bank I saw that £575 was pending …. That was part of my spending money for the week and it left me really short of funds, I was so upset I couldn’t treat my son and it really spoilt my holiday. I had to go and check at the desk if I would get it back and what it was actually for …… then to be hit with $305 on the last day for a destination fee. Now asking the lady at the desk what it was for she said it was for unpaid tax but I’ve read it was for Wi-Fi, bikes, gym and discounts for restaurants.which I was never told about … things need to be clearer and more open … so which is it? The lady on the desk on checking out never even asked if I enjoyed my stay or wished me farewell or thanked me for staying in-fact she didn’t even raise one smile. I’m not going to go into the lift fiasco but the bed was clean and comfy, just as well as I had no money to go and spend …. Throughly dissatisfied and disappointed… and I would like to be reimbursed for the destination fee … a very lonely experience “ doing this behalf my mum “

Still a problem with the elevators. We saw a review about this from 4 years ago and we had no idea that this was a permanent problem at the hotel. Venta fans in the bathrooms do not work in the entire hotel.

I write this review absolutely desperate after spending only 2 nights in this hotel. I am traveling with my grandmother and her two friends, New York was her dream and her stay, far from meeting her expectations, is ruining them.

We arrived this Monday and were greeted by a very unpleasant employee who seemed to be bothered by any of our questions about hotel taxes or fees. When we went up to the rooms, we found that they did not have any natural light but they told us that the entire hotel (26 floors) did not have any other, so we accepted it without problem. However, we heard a very annoying noise that seemed to come from the air conditioning so we turned it off, but this noise did not go away.

The next morning, after a night without hardly any sleep, we decided to go down to talk to the same employee who served us and who was, if possible, even less professional. He told us that he would send a technician in the next few minutes and, after waiting 4 hours, no one showed up. We went down very upset to talk to reception and a guy helped us who told us that they had not even taken note of the incident, that he was sorry and that they would compensate us. He assured us that we could leave in peace and that when we returned, the technicians would have fixed everything. When we returned to the room, they had not gone yet, we went back down to reception and finally they sent a technician who told us that it was not a problem with the air but with the soundproofing, that he was going to say so and that they would call us in the next few months.minutes to give us a solution. Of course, this did not happen and we fell asleep hours later waiting for a call that did not come.

Today, two days later, I go to reception again and they tell me they are changing my room. In the middle of the procedure I see how the first employee talks to the person who is assisting me in those moments while she looks at me and talks about me. To all these efforts and wasted time, we must add that only one elevator works. The lines are more than 15 minutes to get up and down to your own room. I have never been treated with so little respect and professionalism.

The hotel is not recommended. During the 4 days of my stay only 1 (!) elevator worked. You spent hours waiting for the elevator or walking 17 floors. The rooms are very loud. The air conditioning was broken. Outrageous price - even for a New York hotel.

Elevators were all broken except one. Housekeeping is only on request!
