New York Marriott Downtown

Had a quick business trip to NYC over the weekend and stayed at this hotel. The staff is very nice and friendly, except for one staff member at the bell desk whom I felt uncomfortable with. The room is clean and spacious, and the location is convenient. I would stay at this hotel again if I go back to NYC.

Is this hotel the replacement for 3 WTC?

There was a 22 story Marriott hotel sitting between the north and south towers on the original complex

Great location. Friendly staff. Good cleaning protocols. Some room areas recently upgraded. Rooms are small as you can expect accross NYC

Nice stay in a beautiful room, easy to control the room temp and the window shades. Not so nice was having to call down to the front desk for a hair dryer that was missing from the closet, and being awakened at 5 a.m. By the alarm clock (that we didn't check beforehand. Who is supposed to do that nowadays - the traveler or the staff?) We weren't the only ones in our group who experienced that; others were awakened, too, because they also did not think to check the alarm clock when they got in the room. Use your room fee to get a meal down in the restaurant. We were there during the big Flood of Sept '23 and the hotel kindly provided us with free umbrellas as we left to walk to our office and it was raining cats and dogs.

Great location in the financial district of Manhattan. Easy walking distance to many great sites in the area. Hotel is very nice. Always feel safe. Hotel has two bars, a restaurant and a Starbucks. The 9/11 memorial is just two blocks away.

Room is very spacial, and staffs are super nice and very helpful!
the attached restaurant has very good burger! Location is very convenient! Close to ACE/1 train.for me, I like it relatively quieter without to much traffic noises. But no closer convenient store or CVS something around

Weekend stay was short but very smooth. Hotel is clean, location is perfect, nothing else to say.

My god, the doormen here. They’re so rude and unhappy. You pull up your vehicle and they’re immediately yelling at you to move with ATTITUDE, even if you tell them you’re on a security detail for a dignitary. This isn’t how a hotel should be run, and I deal with almost every 4+ star hotel in NYC. I’d never recommend this hotel to anyone needing immediate vehicle access. The key to hospitality is to be hospitable.

We got upgraded to a larger room on our weekend stay here. The rooms and the view were impressive on the 38th floor.

Perfect for your family and friends. Good Service, Lobby Employees, Security, Rooms, Restaurants Very Alert and Willing to Help the Visitor. The most important thing is the perfect location for a fun vacation.

This hotel is overpriced for the money. Nearly $500 a night for a room with double beds…. DOUBLE BEDS, for grown ups! Two adults could barely sleep without one falling out of bed! It was like being in a kid’s room! The hotel was “okay”…. Nothing outstanding. The service was not remarkable. Finding someone to help in the lobby was impossible and the line check in took forever. No room service and no included breakfast. The hotel brochure stated it was included but the fine print said that you had to be premium, platinum, royalty members to be eligible. I’ve stayed next door at Club Quarters and had a better stay.

Stayed there for three nights. Although the location and the view is amazing! The rooms are very dated and SUPER SUPER DIRTY. There was a pair of dirty socks behind the nightstand (probably from someone who previously stayed there) along with a ball of dust.

The price for this hotel is not worthy. Rooms are old, there is no business center or space for you to work outside of your room, and they do not have room service.

I came back from the office at 3: 30 pm and my room was not clean, so had to work outside of the conference rooms while they were cleaning my room… not convenient at all.

The service from the Maintenance and cleaning team was nice and professional, but I didn’t have such a friendly welcome at my arrival, however, that was only one person employee.

Again, for the price, I think you can get something better in the area.

I stayed here 6 nights and all in all it was a good stay.
The property is well maintained, the room clean, the location perfect.
The lounge on the 38 floor offers amazing view with super friendly staff.

BUT there were a few things that bothered me and kept me from giving this hotel 5 *:
Reception: the reception staff doesn’t even smile. They do their job “ by the book” (sometimes even less….). There is no welcome feeling or any sense of appreciation to the fact that we are loyal Marriott Platinum members. On our last day we were lucky to meet James the manager who helped improve our feeling.
Lounge: closed -shut from Friday (after breakfast) until Sunday afternoon. You can’t even go in to get water or coffee. If you are entitled to breakfast you are given a voucher to the restaurant located inside the hotel (but not part of the hotel) where they offer a buffet that was not too attractive (to say the least) and poor unfriendly service so we simply went out for breakfast.
