The hotel view is amazing! Jenny and Simon helped us with accommodation! We got a suite room with a perfect view! Highly recommend!

We came to the city as a family for our first NYC Christmas experience. While the hotel itself is dated (the rooms not the lobby, the lobby is gorgeous) and some of the issues we had understandably couldn’t be rectified by the staff we were speaking with, the customer service was BEYOND SUB PAR. Our first night we were trying to find a comfortable temperature in our room since it was in the 30s outside and the rooms heat was on - we came in fully dressed and couldn’t figure out how to get the air conditioning on and the heat off. We called downstairs, the staff that answered said in a very short and overall annoyed tone “there’s no ac in this entire building it’s an antiquated system” (for winter this was bearable I have no idea how this could work in the summer). Then we called as the TV wasn’t working properly, again a short toned employee answered the phone said “I’ve never heard of that problem” with no further assistance. Finally, our last evening there we thought maybe we could call for pillows that weren’t so flat (you really can’t even fold them into a shape) and yet again I was met with a monotoned cold sounding staff member who said “that’s all the pillows in the hotel” and offered no kindness, understanding, or frankly any care other than to get me off the phone quickly. Naturally, after we checked out I mentioned this to the front desk representative on staff at the time - she could not have looked more disinterested in what I had to say and just waited until I was done speaking to offer a flat “I’m sorry” again I was left feeling like I was an imposition to be taking any time with questions or concerns.

The lobby is gorgeous, the views are great if you have a city room view, the rooms are dated but okay. Genuinely we understand that a single staff member can’t magically make the entire building have air conditioning if it doesn’t, can’t make fluffier pillows appear, or estimate Netflix glitches. But what I do expect when paying more than $300 a night for a room is at least a little customer service - a smile, a pleasant interaction, not someone who sounds/looks generally annoyed.

For assessment purposes I watched to see what the interactions were like with other customers and it was all the same minus a couple of male staff members behind the desk that really seemed to be making sure they had a smile on and were pleasant. As regular travelers to the city we won’t be rushing back to stay here again, and can’t imagine staying in a hotel that doesn’t have air conditioning (stated by three different staff members) in the summer.

Excellent location, half a block from Time Square.
Safe area, except for people who are on the street smoking marijuana, which is allowed, but annoying for those of us who have those tastes.

Sometimes you can't please everyone. I'm glad I did not let the bad reviews overwhelm us. My friend and I had a wonderful experience. The room was beautiful and super clean. Bed and pillows were yummy. Housekeeper was very nice. Front desk staff very professional. Everyone we encountered were great. When we couldn't get an Uber to take us back to NJ, Malik who was at the entrance managed to get a friend taxi driver to get us home safely. That was the cherry on the cake for our 3 day stay. We'll definitely be back. Happy Birthday to me. Thank you.

A friend and I stayed here because it was cheap, had parking right across the street, in the heart of times square, and seemed like good enough reviews for a one night stay. Everything was fairly normal up until 1: 30 in the morning. Our hotel phone rang (naturally we were already asleep so I didn't hear it ring until the last ring). I dozed back off and then heard the phone ringing again. Reminder, it's 1: 30AM. We had a early morning ahead of us. We suddenly hear banging on what I thought was the room next door (I thought it was someone accidentally calling our room, and then thought it was someone locked out next door so I still didn't get up). Finally, it was very very loud banging on our door. And then they tried to get in. Reminder, it's 1: 30AM. I looked through the peephole and saw 2 men who claimed they were security and had to check if someone was in the room. They asked for my name (which I did not give) and were extremely rude and scary. No apologies for bothering me at this hour, or reassuring me that everything was okay. They demanded to know what my name was, so finally I gave it, but never opened the door.

I called down to the front desk immediately and asked if it was legit and if they could have possibly waited until a reasonable hour. They claimed someone was checking in and in the lobby downstairs (at 1: 30AM?) and that our room was marked as vacant in the system. Then what made them even think to double check in the first place? Needless to say, we could not fall back asleep because we were petrified. This was about a month ago, and we still are baffled and alarmed by the whole scenario. There was a red stain on the carpet when we walked in. We decided it was probably just juice, but who knows at this rate.

Doesn’t deserve 1 star, 0 star review

Dirty rooms that are tired, not at all what is advertised. Shocking service, staff that lie to avoid refunds or accept their standards are below the amounts charged. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Stayed just as covid travel restrictions were lifted, nothing as promised and the website pictures shown of the rooms must be at least 5 years+ old. No individually wrapped food, no room service, splattered walls, sticky, stained carpets, damaged walls and furniture, filthy bathrooms with mould and stubble hairs from previous guests shaving all over the sink and taps. Broken beds, electrics, lamps and cupboards.

Raised this with three different members of staff from hotel front desk manager, house keeping manager and maintenance man. Promises made and none kept. Lost 1.5 days following up for them to lie and say I refused help. Ended up buying my own antibacterial wipes and sorted myself after being unable to stay in it for hours on end and risk losing even more money on precooked excursions.

Save your $$ and sleep out in Times Square, you’ll be cleaner. This hotel is not deserving of one star. Massive disappointment in both accommodation offered and the staff.

I HAVE NOT lied and it’s poor service that you think it’s ok to make stories up about refusals of help to avoid a chargeback or dispute being raised. I will take this as far and wide as I can to make sure future customers are made aware of how to be expected to be treated should there be a problem.

Didn’t trust the bad review but should have. The entrance is nice but the interior is pretty outdated, and the room was kinda gross. The bathtub was disgusting and the shower valve was broken, I also saw black mold on the wall. No breakfast too! Not worth the price.

Good location but would not recommend to anyone who likes or needs a cool room in the winter. There was a thermostat in the room but no unit - just a vent that seems to be hooked to a centralized system - does not allow you to switch from heat to cool. Temp didn't go below 73 even though it was set to 65. The only option to make the room cooler is open the windows the small crack that is allowed. We only stayed one night - 4 in the room- and the toilet clogged around 11 PM; however maintenence was there quickly (under 10 mins).

I would like to give a shout out to George Jacob for his great costumer service skills. He provided us with a pleasant stay and a memorable experience. The room was clean, and located in a great location. I highly recommend this hotel!

The room has not amenities. Every other hotel, I ever stayed in NYC had at least a Microwave or coffee machine. The room had a weird smell.however very close to everyt. The three star is only for the kindness of the front door and desk staff.

Hotel gave wrong information about parking garage, after being transferred a couple of times. The check-in staff then told me what garage it was, but I had gone to another garage that the reservation staff told me about. There is no information on this when you book the "park and play" option, so I would not recommend it. It is not the one across the street, FYI. The hotel needs a lot of repairs and the room had peeling paint and broken light switches, as well as the bathroom had stains on the ceiling (mold?). Not bad for the location, and the staff was friendly on site. But maintenance and knowledge of the services were two areas that need significant improvement.

Old rooms. Elevators were the worst! We were late for several times at our appointments because 3 out of 5 of their elevators were not working.

Our hotel stay was changed to another hotel at the last minute. Went online and they still had the room available that we book for the same days. But this time for a higher price. Great customer service

The good: You are within walking distance of Times Square. The housekeeping staff are really friendly, helpful and courteous. There is coffee and a pharmacy right outside the door. The bed is firm and comfortable.

The bad: We were on the 25th floor and I can only speak for my room. The paint and wallpaper are peeling. There is no refrigerator in the room. There is no fan on the bathroom. Overall, there needs to be a renovation.

The ugly: Booked online through the hotel's website. Checked out with an additional $110 due to City and hotel fees. Just be conscious of this I guess, perhaps this is standard.

Did not stay at hotel but giving this rate due to them canceling my room without notice which was booked about a month in advance. Now we have to pay more for another hotel

Alot of reviews are negative but I think its important to understand what you are getting. The hotel is centrally located in Times Square. Huge plus from a travel perspective! The hotel is definitely older and showing signs of wear. The carpets, the curtains and the bed and bedding. However for the price you really cant beat it. The water was warm.the room temp was fine. The bedding and bed left me a little overwhelmed but the staff was nice and the check in process was great. I checked in at 4PM and there was a long line. Not only were they checking in people fast - someone came out to thank us, prep us to help with the process. If you are looking for a frilly hotel, plush bedding and new amenities then you may want to look elsewhere. But if you are looking for a standard solid nice hotel located in the heart of midtown and Times Square with all the basics more than covered than this is the spot. Thanks!

Excellent hotel - very helpful staff and couldn't be better located - right at Times Square but comfortably outside of the busiest area.
11 December 2021 11:06
Do not stay here. Room was dirty, outdated, not what I had requested, thermostat doesnt work, light next to bed doesnt work, comforter is old and worn, etc.
04 December 2021 4:47
This hotel is not as it appears. Rooms are completely outdated and filthy! Vents are filled with dust, stained carpets, curtains are supposed to be white but are literally brown. No fridges available in room and they have power strips - def won’t ever come back here. If i am able to yelp and provide photos i will. So upset
04 December 2021 2:24
Booked a stay here but my room was cancelled as the hotel posted the incorrect rate. Will not be booking as room should not have been automatically cancelled due to their error.
04 December 2021 2:14
Great location with courteous staff, but the room was very old, run down, and did not come close to matching the pictures online. I honestly don't know where they obtained their pictures from, but it wasn't the room we stayed in. They need to either do some maintenance/updating of their rooms, or they need to update their online pics so as not to misrepresent them.

Awful experience - hotel staff was rude and incompetent plus their customer service via phone was incredibly unhelpful. There are much better options in the area

I like this hotel. Location is great. The only downsides are 1) there's no coffee pot. NYC is EXPENSIVE. It would be nice to save a few bucks on my morning coffee. 2) The shower has the greatest water pressure of all time. In fact, it's too great. It creates it's own air flow and the entire bathroom ends up soaking wet. Otherwise, it's a great hotel.

The lady who helped us was really nice. She was very informed about sweet; helped us with setting up our Big Bus tickets. She helped make NY the easiest trip we've been to.
27 November 2021 8:53
Never staying at this hotel going forward. It took over 2 hours to check-in because of an administrative error on their end while they did NOTHING to rectify the situation early on.
17 November 2021 16:38
Centrally located to the theaters and, of course, steps to Time Square area. So convenient to stay here in the heart of NYC. Check in time is at 4pm. But since we got in early, was able to get an early check in. Hotel charges $75 for it. It's worth it to get our luggage in place and take a break from a long flight. Hotel is clean and they have cleaning protocols which I like.
17 November 2021 14:04
The only thing 4-star about this hotel is the location near Times Square. The room is poorly maintained and very dusty. I found trash from previous guests on the floor. AC is old and weak; thermostat’s screen doesn’t light up. Bathroom sink takes ages to drain and floods easily if the tap runs for a few minutes. One night lamp keeps flickering on and off. Overrated and overpriced.
16 November 2021 15:21
It was awful. The rooms were outdated and dirty. There were cobwebs and dirt on the wall. The bathroom was gross, and the photos online were nothing like what we saw in person. We didn’t even bother to stay, and checked out as soon as we made it up to the rooms. The offered us a second room which was not much better.
