Some of the best food in this area and in any area. Expensive but top TOP TOP level food, giant shrimp in any platter abd excellent portion size without compromising deliciousness

I never had a less than superb experience until this year. For the Christmas Eve menu they didn’t allow the option to go a la carté with their famous desserts, it was cannoli or nothing — would have been great if they explained the changes to the Christmas Eve protocol when I made my reservation, or even on their Instagram or website. They got rid of all of the Michel Delacroix paintings on the sublevel. The Chianti was alrite but a bit fizzy — perhaps stored too cold. It feels as though tradition and quality are fading from here, I hope it was just an off night with some experiments in decision making they will reel back in. I’ll be sure to ask questions next year before I make the Christmas Eve reservation.

It is one of Brooklyn's historic restaurants, still entirely original in its decor.you can eat very well, try the broad beans and the pasta with chickpeas.

The negative first.when our order came, the waiter told the young man, no cheese, no cheese.then proceeds to ask if I would like a lil cheese for my shrimp marinara, but answers for me an says no right? !? Weird. #2 as I'm looking around I'm saying waiters see people and pour their water for them. Why were we placed at our table and didn't receive water until I asked? I got no attitude from anybody but while we didn't get the same treatment? I did not appreciate that and only a half a star was taken off for those two things. The shrimp marinara was excellent. The string beans and different fingerling potatoes were great as well. I wish there was a little more of that. Calamari to calamari was very good with the marinara sauce. I also ordered the linguine with white clam sauce. It was so good. I had to sit up straight and use my spoon and fork while eating my pasta like a proper gentleman. Services very well. They definitely cater to you. I guess for some people they just don't pour your water or answer for you if you want cheese or not. All in all very good. The Decor is old school and classy. Makes you want to wear a suit to dinner.

God awful Alfredo. Ordered Uber eats. No exaggeration, it was so terrible that olive garden will get a 10 out of 10 next to this. Again, not being dramatic, it was pasta, cream or half-and-half, that’s it. I would bet my life on it that it had no butter, no oil, not an ounce of salt or pepper, no Parmesan, no Romano, no parsley, garlic, or anything else that Alfredo should entail. They did put aside of grated Parmesan cheese, which I had to fully dump in here, after putting salt and pepper three times, and it was still disgusting. I hope this only happened because this is an Uber order, I highly doubt they could serve something so repulsive in person because it would be sent back. I know how to make Alfredo from scratch, have been doing it for 20 years, the fact that this came out of an Italian restaurant is appalling. Please feel free to order delivery and test it for yourself. I promise you my 12-year-old can make an Alfredo that is a dozen times better than this. And it’s not even this, because it wasn’t Alfredo it was pasta cooked in cream and put into a container, nothing else was added to it.

Folks I eat veal for a living! The Veal Smash Job is arguably the best in New York. If I was on death row it would be my final meal! Its to die for!

Took my daughter to celebrate her HS graduation. She was impressed and very happy. It really made her day! The food was delicious and the service was great!

My family is Italian so we grew up on homemade sauce/pasta. Needless to say, we Never eat jarred sauce from the store. Well. Im hooked on Michaels of Brooklyn marinara sauce that is sold in Wisconsin at Metro Market! I can't believe I get to have a little piece of Brooklyn right here in Milwaukee! Only jarred sauce I will ever buy!

Great atmosphere! Food taste is your average Italian food. I would not go again because it is not somewhere you everyday

Was there on June 29. We were a party of 19 so we were given a fixed price selection. Everything was excellent from beginning to end, including service. There were large platters of crudite, imported cheese and sliced sopressata on the table when we arrived. Everyone received a salad, and a choice of penne with vodka or filetto sauce. Dinner choices were Veal Sorrentino, Chicken Francaise, Pork Chop with spicy peppers or Salmon. All were served with potato and vegetable. For dessert they brought out 3 large platters of pastries. This was my first time at Michael's and I was very impressed. I lived in Brooklyn for 40 years and somehow missed this restaurant. What a shame! If you live in the area do not make my mistake.please go, you will not be disappointed.

Great service. Service the way it used to be years ago in restaurants. Nice waiter with two helpers. Great bread for the table. Couldn’t have been better!

Excellent restaurant! Fantastic food, great portions. Service is great! Waiters pay great attention to your needs without hovering over you. Nicely spaced out tables, lovely music playing lightly in the background. A must to go and try!

We went here for my mother's birthday. I decided to try something different, so I went for the ossobuco. Let me tell you, when I took my first taste of the risotto, I clutched my chest. I never knew risotto could taste so good. Something about the broth used, I guess. The veal was delicious and tender. I didn't need a knife for this big plate of food. The meat came right off the bone. The vegetables perfectly cooked. They gave me a tiny fork to scoop out the bone marrow. Delicious like savory butter. I usually add salt, pepper or hot sauce to my food when I dine out. I didn't ask for any. Bread, butter, cheese and olives brought out before the meal were great. The rest of my family really enjoyed their meals. I shared some tiramisu with my sister. Deliciously cold and creamy.
The staff was amazing. I could tell that Michael's only hires the best people. Our waiter felt like our tour guide through Italian cuisine. He made sure that we ordered what we wanted to order and was helpful at every step of the way, going into detail about what we would receive.
As for the ambiance, the place has valet parking, and the inside of the restaurant is beautiful.
I've heard about Michael's my entire life but have never gone in there. I've bought from the bakery across the street though. Being in the restaurant is a real experience. We also spoke to staff outside. They had crates of boxes and we asked what it was for. It's for the thousands of jars of tomato sauce Michael's sells nationwide now. Good for them. Making Brooklyn proud.

The food was good, as expected given the above average price and high rating but the service was beyond fantastic. Probably the best service I have ever had.

This is the hands down best high end Italian Restaurant in Brooklyn. If you want to impress your significant other bring them here. Not only is the food phenomenal the service is top notch!

I drove past this place so many times, for so many years, and never thought about going in. Today we went in for dinner, and it was worth it. Great food, drinks, and service.

The food was amazing from the appetizers to the main course friendly staff. The host Gregory is a true gentleman extremely friendly and helpful.

A friend of mine recommended Michael's to me, and believe me, this restaurant is AMAZING. Great Italian wine, delicious food (ample portions), and just an overall great, "old school" kind of experience. I will definitely be coming back to enjoy another amazing meal.

Thought this place was gonna be a let down but im telling you i was SADLY mistaken. The food and service was amazing. Osso buco was outstanding and the portions are huge. I will be back. I highly recommend this place.

Was there on March 24. Ordered salmon and they bring me salmon with someone’s hair. I asked to replace it. The waiter not even sorry. Got another salmon and it’s looked same as before. I asked the manager. So I saw the chef or whoever was is it and he try to argue with me instead of give me sorry and complimentary meal. First time see the bad attitude to costumers in restaurant and disrespect. Overall place is good looking but be ready that you will not be treated as you want. Do not recommend.

Upscale family owned Italian restaurant. Interior design very romantic. Linen tablecloths and napkins. Home baked breads delicious as well as appetizer eggplant rollatini. Main course, Bolegnase pasta excellent. Great wine selection. The pinot grigio was chilled and good pour. Our waiter did not rush us and was attentive. Unfortunately too full to have dessert but went across the street to Michael's pastry shop and bought some pastry for later. Excellent service and food.

This was our first time and it won't be our last! Great experience from beginning to end! Service from Enzo was exceptional and the food was beyond expectation! I highly recommend, and be prepared to carry home a "doggie bag" as I did because the portions are huge!

Really good Old School brooklyn italian restaurant, great classic dishes. Tried Stuffed Artichoke, Cheese Ravioli and Amazing lobster bisque!

The food was fantastic! I went there after a funeral recently. The Salmon was perfectly done, salad was great and pasta with Vodka sauce was the best I ever had. The staff were courteous and professional.

The Best of the Best! Classic old school Brooklyn staple. Their biscottes have even gone to the moon and back! Like no other place in New York City. A must go if you love incredible food!

Fantastic quality food and delicious flavors. Rice balls, mozzarella in carozza, veal sorrentino and deserts are great. Location is accessible and has ample parking. Prices are fair.

Give respect to get respect! If you respect yourself don’t waste your time and money here! Absolutely overpriced FLY in food! It’s not a joke!

Best Italian Food in NYC. One of the few family owned and operated restaurants that's been around for years. Outstanding food, beautiful decor, excellent staff and again superior food. Looking forward to my next visit.

Our large family had dinner here after a funeral and were extremely pleased with food and service. Food was excellent! Every single dish was delicious. We gave short notice we were coming and table was ready for our party of 22 people. We will be back!
