Situated in midtown Manhattan. This is a delightful hotel, staff are attentive and polite. Rooms are good in size cleaned every day, bathrooms area stands out, and it helps that they use products from the Byredo range. Definitely thumbs

So far a great experience. Combining status points and a bit of cash made the place quite affordable - with Club access included (impressive service by the Club attendant) and an exceptional breakfast (described as "continental" but with hot selections, more than that). Room is spacious and clean and the overall hotel has a great feeling of character and comfort.

Good experience overall. The check in process could be optimized. Also, if my check out time is noon, not sure why cleaners are trying to get in my room at 9AM. But overall good.

Overall a 5/5 hotel tbh. Had some problems with Expedia. Contacted them and got a very nice manager Ruchi, who absolutely helped me to the best of her ability, issue resolved. Some staff members are rude though, especially when you call at night, that’s where she gave me the wrong info causing a whole array of problems but thanks to Ruchi, my issue has been solved.

My grand daughter and I spent Christmas/ her 10th birthday here and it was awesome. Everybody was exceptional! The doorman, check in staff, the concierge, the maid service, the breakfast staff, all went above and beyond. Our room was even upgraded due to my grand daughter celebrating her birthday. They even surprised her with an awesome treat upon arrival back to our room. I will definitely be returning!

In all fairness, I could leave a three-star review for this hotel, for the quality of the room. But I'd like to leave one star to factor in the great inconvenience of booking, and for the con that this hotel is running. It will, hopefully, be read by management.

I booked three nights at an average price of $200 per night. I paid additional fees for taxes at 14%, and a mysterious service charge at $40 a night. When I got my email confirmation and saw there is an additional $120, I called back and talked to somebody about what the charges are. The customer service rep danced around the question is if he didn't understand me. We were (quite obviously) cut off mid conversation and I received no return phone call. I then called back and spent 20 minutes with another customer service rep that initially could not tell me about this service fee and why it was on my account. After much trouble, I realized it was for internet wi-fi, a free breakfast, and laundry service. I did not request or care to receive this service, and requested the charge removed. Please bear in mind it was every bit of 20 minutes just to get to this point in the conversation. Rather than remove the charge, I have to call again and talk to a supervisor when the supervisor is available tomorrow. Another phone call will push me over 60 minute mark to simply book a hotel. Not impressive.

This should be in an illegal business practice, a scam, in short.

Additionally, when I called initially and requested the best priced room, I was told there is a room for $299, I asked if that was the best price room and then told there is a room for $239. When I said that's too much and I wasn't interested I then was given a better price. (I'm over 50 years old and understand very well what upselling is. It occurs in nearly every sales practice. A hotel is supposed to tell you the best price room when that is what you specify.)

I will never again waste over an hour to book a simple hotel in the city of New York when there are many choices. Shame on InterContinental hotel for this bogus business practice.

Awful experience!
Come to this establishment and be robbed.
My Wife’s wedding band and engagement rings both stolen from our room.
General Manager unable to appear…Customer Relations Gabriel Nogueira, comes out with such poor manners and lack of knowledge… only repeats “ we already filed a claim with insurance”… said it four times!
Chief of Security, Robert Jenks, able to be approached over the phone; unable to appear today when I flew across country to discuss this matter.
UNPROFESSIONAL, on all accounts.
We have filed a theft police report at 17th and midtown north NYPD both great, and extremely helpful handling it.
Stay away from this thieves nest!
Unreal, dishonest, and unprofessional management and obviously hotel staff.

Overall I liked the hotel and it was a great location. I would have given this four or five stars, however, I had awful customer service. When checking in we were given a card and told to make sure we utilized our $25 food and beverage credit a day. We made sure each night to stop by the hotel bar due to this. When checking out, we received our bill without the credit applied. When I called about this, the customer service representative was extremely rude and refused to help me. I was told that we were told we should receive it and he did not care. He told me a manager would reach out and I never received a call. Due to this experience I do not recommend staying here and will not be returning.

My rings were stollen from inside my room, from the safe. This is a thieves’ cave protected by their “union”. Never, never stay there, and btw, service is horrible

Fabulous stay with my cousin this past weekend. Wonderful location close to so many attractions with quick access to the subway. This might also be the CLEANEST hotel I have ever stayed in. The rooms and common areas were remarkably well-kept, and the rooms were very quiet. A great value, as well. I will absolutely stay again. Thank you!

Nice-ish hotel.but nothing great.and definitely not worth paying >$450 a night for the rooms/service you get.plus we could hear conversations from rooms on either side of us+ could hear the shower being turned on and cleaning staff talking loudly outside our room - you don't expect that when you pay so much for a room

What an outstanding experience. The entire staff is very attentive and so courteous. Our best experiences were with the dining room staff, They were always there for anything you needed. Everyone from the reservationist to the doorman, exhibited old fashioned customer service. There was never a question they couldn't answer and it was always done professionally and with a smile. Maybe because it was holiday time but, we have never enjoyed a stay in NYC any more then we did this one!

Really liked this hotel. Even though I'm not the biggest IHG guy, I will be coming back for future stays. Location is perfect if you want to be close to everything, yet not surrounded by tourist traps.easy to get to by Taxi and Rideshare, close to the 6 train, close to 5th avenue.beautiful interior and surprisingly spacious rooms (for NYC). Be aware that many stays come with a 35$ daily resort fee, of which 25$ can be used for drinks and room service. This credit does not carry over.

Great location. Good service but it is far from a 5 star hotel.
Room is clean and specious, mini bar is good, but 1 towel and hardly any amenities in the bath room for a 5 star hotel is not acceptable.

Classy property, well appointed rooms with a modern classic feel. Location is convenient as you can pretty much walk to anywhere (with a good pair of sneakers!). The rooms can be dark so go for high floor and ask for east 48th street facing rooms. The bar / reception area can benefit from better lighting. The gym is decent on equipment (they have a peloton) but again feels like a cellar.

This hotel really treats their guests right, I had the pleasure of dealing with Ruchi Sura, and she really helped me with my inquiry - quick and EASY. This hotel also is totally renovated, the rooms are big spacious and clean. They have a minibar, which a lot of hotels today don't have due to Covid. They also have the cleaning service come every day, which again, a lot of other hotels don't have due to Covid. It's central in midtown, i will definitely come back soon! Thank you again Ruchi for your help!

Amazing Hotel, rooms are beautiful and clean. Staff were top notch, made our stay extra special. Special thanks to our Bell Hop Angel, our favorite New Yorker by far. Also to Orin at the reception desk who checked us in thank you for making a couple Canadians feel like we were at home. Give those two a raise!

Great location, clean, and great service. Can’t say the same for the actual accommodations. The pillows are absolutely terrible and the shower pressure renders gentle trickling water instead of a nice strong steady stream.

The room was very nice.

However, the hotel seems very understaffed. Check-in lines were 15+ minutes and individuals checking-in ahead of me were given keys to rooms with people already in the rooms.

Getting my folio after my stay was a huge headache. Hold times were so long I had to call back a number of times before someone picked up. Additionally, Intercontinental's phone lines were terrible quality, and it took multiple conversations with the front desk before the folio was sent to the correct email.

Very nice hotel, but $42pp for a mediocre continental breakfast that's a half step above Costco and charging $4.50 to take the coffee back to your room is ridiculous. Yes, thanks for automatically adding 15% "gratuity" for filling my coffee once and letting me serve myself cheerios from the dispenser.

Don't forget to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ. ᴄᴏᴍ when booking a stay. This website will compare thousands of booking websites and normally will have rooms a lot cheaper compared to others! You're welcome:)! This hotel is one of the best in this area. I've been staying here for a long time. If you choose this place you for sure won't regret it.

Trustworthy place to stay. They are sharp. Front desk guys could use some more personality but the restaurant staff was very friendly and so were the concierges. Would have liked a firmer mattress. Very clean and great location.

I'm a ambassador went there no recognition no upgrade nothing as per the website so false and misleading info after I approached them having to wait 30mins they advised that they would take 30usd of the rate hahaha honesty 30usd gave me the worst room in the hotel facing a renovation of a hotel last room down the corridor with a interconnect room just terrible honestly beyond disappointing.

Breakfast was really good service was outstanding and that's about it.

Had a bed bug bite on the 3rd day of my 1 week stay. The hotel moved me to a new room but told me it seems like a rash. I didn’t think so but you can judge for yourself with the photo.

Great hotel. I had no idea US Open players would be staying here. Added an interesting component to our stay. Lines of Mercedes out front to shuttle them around

Also seeing pros play table tennis in the lobby was amusing too because they were really good at that as well!

It’s and older hotel, so walls are a little thin, or our neighbor was a loud talker?

Either way beds and pillows are A+ and I got a full night sleep of 12 hours our first night after a long day of travel and the Hurricane Ida storms.

My daughter and I stayed at this hotel for two weeks and the service and the hospitality were superb. I got to know the staff and they were top notch. The managers that I dealt with Ruchi, Crista, Matthew and Jennifer went far above the ordinary customer service experience you receive at hotels nowadays. The way they treat and make their guests feel at home was truly refreshing. Housekeeping was also excellent. My daughter thought she had lost her iPods and one of the housekeepers named Vivian found them underneath the bed and returned them to us, even though we were not looking in our room since my daughter thought she had left them at the park. It was a true pleasure staying at the intercontinental this will definitely be our go to hotel when we visit New York again.

If you are like me when I travel, I spend hours reading reviews trying to find the perfect place to stay. Look no further when you come to NYC, STAY HERE!

I am super picky and having worked in hospitality its hard to find a hotel that meets my needs.

I booked with Hotels.com and received an email from the hotel a few days before I arrived asking if there was anything we required. I had mentioned our flight landed early and we were coming to New York to celebrate my mom's 70th birthday.

I was nervous because even if you mentioned you'll need an early check-in, the room isn't ready. But the check-in process was fast and the room was ready! Tony was friendly and welcoming. Also, moments after checking in, a concierge came to our room to welcome us and had a beautiful candle for my mom and a card for her birthday.

The hotel is perfectly located (safe neighborhood), well maintained, and above all CLEAN!

Our room had everything we needed and the bed was SO COMFORTABLE!

Housekeeping did an amazing job on turn-down service. Was so nice to come back after exploring all day to a nice and tidy room.

We had the breakfast buffet one day and there is literally something for everyone.

I know if friends ever ask which hotel to stay at while visiting NYC, I am recommending it!

Let me tell you something that online travel agents do not want you to know. When reserving places use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ. ᴄᴏᴍ They easily have the best deals on rooms! So much better than using expedia, priceline, hotwire. No doubt about that!

An all around perfect stay - which is pretty rare. Everyone I encountered was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Loved the bar area and cocktails and the room was extremely comfortable, large and laid out well.

Beautiful hotel lobby very stunning Hotel Staff very helpful & friendly! (the concierge he sent us to a takeout Thai restaurant he could see I was dressed up). That’s OK we found an Italian restaurant that was marvelous!

I don't understand how this hotel maintains such high ratings or gets away with charging what it does per night for a subpar experience and fewer amenities than the average Holiday Inn. Where to begin?

1. I specifically requested a room away from the elevators and they gave me the room closest to the elevators. Literally the closest room to the elevator. All night I was waking up to people getting off and talking loudly. I know I could have complained and switched, but I had a long flight with little sleep and had to quickly change and get to the office.

2. The walls are paper thin. I am laying here and can hear the people's conversation nextdoor clear as day and they are not talking loudly.

3. Room amenities are lacking. Rooms are small. TV is tiny. Cheap coffee and condiments, no tea. No microwave. No refrigerator because the only fridge is full of their minibar with $9 bottles of generic water and M&Ms.

4. Check your bill because I luckily happened to notice there's a $20 "amenities fee" lol. This includes a $15 per day mini bar credit that they didn't tell me about. You don't use it, you lose it.

Honestly would not recommend this place to anyone.

Ruchi! The five star is only for Ruchi! The five star is Not for my experience at Intercontinental Barclay!
I stayed at the Intercontinental Barclay with my family for a weekend hangout. However, the front office agent double charged my credit card. As soon as I found the issue, I called the front office many times to fix the payment issue. However, I felt they are not willing to fix this issue. So I contacted Barclay's main office by email and explained what had happened. After a few emails and days, Ruchi, who works in the sales and management department, investigated by herself for the first time customer at Intercontinental. I received a phone call from Ruchi last night. The problem has been resolved. The important thing is that she knows how to work and resolve the problem as well as how to treat the guest. I would give her a five star even though it is not resolved.

We’ve stayed at The Barclay a few times and every visit has been delightful. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, it’s well cared for and always clean, the staff has always been very polite and quick to help with anything and everything. The location is also very convenient with a variety food options, transportation options and things to do lingering close by. I always look forward to booking my stay here when visiting NYC.

This is the quietest hotel that I’ve ever stayed at, let alone in the middle of NYC! The location is perfect, the service is out of this World and the bar staff know how to roll out the red carpet for guests to make them feel valued. Sorry for eating so much of your truffle popcorn by the way but it goes so well with a delicious Belgian Moon.

Special shoutout to Peter Solis who helped us checkout. It was seamless and Peter knows how to complete a premium customer experience.
