Wonderful room, the concierge was incredibly sweet and helpful. I would absolutely stay here again. Pretty much on top of Grand Central Station.

Honestly, this was such a nicer hotel than I expected. The reviews were kind of mixed but we were delighted by both the quality and SIZE of the rooms (we just had a standard single king bed). The location is super central and easy to get to and I never felt unsafe in the area. Everything was clean and the staff was extremely responsive and helpful (big shoutout to the security guard at the front door, he was so sweet!) The walls are a bit thin so you can definitely hear neighbors or things outside if they're loud but that's anywhere in NYC. I think the reviews of small and noisy rooms are by people who have never experienced staying in midtown so take that with a grain of salt. We loved it here!

The Hotel is excellence, starting with the service, which is also top quality, the people are attentive and treat you with the greatest respect. The hotel's facilities are a separate detail, which is very attractive, and perfectly meets each person's needs. I highly recommend this hotel. You will be treated like a king and you will definitely come back again.

The room and any additional charges (like food or drinks from the market downstairs) are not equivalent of what you get.
There weren't any water bottles in the fridge or some coffee/tea, nor a kettle, so they make you buy from them. There were dusty surfaces and the floor and furniture are old. They had left us just a tiny shampoo for a whole week, which they never replaced! The walls aren't soundproof, so we could hear the noise from the hallway. The only positive is that it's located in the center, so you can walk to the nearby attractions. But still, there are homeless and sketchy people outside of the hotel and the street always stinks.

For a Hyatt hotel, this is an utter disgrace.worse than a regular motel. Toilet is worse.see pictures. Staff are super rude. 3 more nights to endure
Super expensive too & area is very rowdy too (at night)

Great hotel located perfectly near grand central. A great point to get everywhere on Manhattan by subway. Rooms are also good. Had one strange experience with the service: for some reason the room service had taken our towels but hadn’t replaced them with new ones. We found out that night and called to the room service and asked if they could bring towels. They “made sure” we would get them soon. 1 hour later we still had nothing and had been waiting to hop in the shower. Had to go down and pick up towels myself, new towels never came through roomservice. Probably through poor communication…
Also they guy behind the counter at the hotel shop downstairs was uttermost unfriendly and not speaking proper english. The customer in front of me had a whole argument with this man, the disagreement seemed to have started through poor understanding of the cashiers side.

One of very best hotel in New York and probably one of the best hotels I have stayed in. Luxury comfortable beds and pillows. Plenty of attractions nearby. Rooms are modern, updated and one hundred percent flawlessly clean.

I actually like this hotel due to its placement. Not far from the actual city and also away from everything. I like my room they seem to clean the bedsheets everyday. One problem is the people are very loud. The person upstairs seem to be jumping and dropping stuff. Probably my luck with the room but its well managed and is able to sleep. I am just visiting so it isn't like I am living there so I'm not at the hotel a lot.

I had booked here for a weeks stay over Christmas. I had to cancel due to omicron and had a rate that did not allow cancelling. However they fully honoured my cancellation and did not take any money. I know where I will be staying when I eventually get to New York later this year!

Absolutely terrible experience. Waited for 1.5 hour to check in, they asked us to pay additional 1000$ which they didnt indicate on booking.com. Arrogant manager with a very aggressive tone. I will never, ever choose this place to stay again.

Let me tell you some thing that travel agents do not want you to know. When reserving hotels use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ. ᴄᴏᴍ They easily have the best deals on rooms! So much better than using expedia, priceline, agoda. No doubt about that!

Great and friendly staff! Despite holidays and tourism so there was a long line to check in, they were very nice and had a smile on. The room was great, plenty of fast elevators, security and the main entrance. I will definitely be going back to this hotel when i visit again.

The bathrooms clash with green and black moldy colors and standing water in the tubs or the tap tap tap of a drippy faucet. The doorman will provide you a hotel car for your ride to the airport when said hotel car wreaks of cigarette smoke and a clacking engine that has been neglected for quite some time. The driver of this vehicle will gladly drop your bags on the ground upon arrival because his nauseous driving will have knocked this bag loose in “flight”. There is only a small shop to provide you with the over-priced hotel sustenance travelers know and love. This is a 3 hotel.

Went around New Year 2016, this hotel is close to everything, right next to Times Square and underground subway. The room is not big, but had everything we need.

We were VERY disappointed and shocked after our recent stay at the Hyatt Grand Central in NYC earlier this month [Dec 11-16].   Upon arrival there was quite a long wait to check in and only 2 staff members working desks.   When we opened the door into our room the tile immediately at the entry way was extremely tacky/sticky and had a large coffee spill on it - We also found numerous hairs throughout the bathroom area.   We went back down to the front desk, waited in line again, and were offered another 'deluxe' room [which we had booked and chosen due to the photos on the website].   Imagine our surprise to find that not all 'deluxe' rooms are the same - the new one we were assigned had a completely different layout than the photos, only one window, and the chaise was positioned in a dark back corner of the room.   We went back down again and asked for a 'deluxe' room as shown in the website photos and as was our first room - we were told that there were only a few rooms with that particular layout [if thats the case WHY is it showcased on the website as the 'deluxe'? ]We ended up agreeing to stay in our initial room because we wanted that layout and having someone from housekeeping come re-clean it.   The coffee stain was removed and the tackiness with it, but she didn't bother to vacuum so all the hairs remained on the bathroom floor. Through the course of the rest of our stay we were disappointed by the significant lack of natural light in the room [the photos show the windows flooded with light] - only to find the windows were heavily tinted.   The bathroom, and especially the toilet and shower area, had mold/mildew in large areas of the tile grout.   The room also lacked any sort of basic refrigeration and only had a small ice bucket which was incapable of even fitting a single bottle of water.

I am a globalist with HIIT which is their highest level and was told that I would have access to the Concierge club it turns out not only isn’t it open but there isn’t a single restaurant open in this hotel so you can’t even have breakfast. The staff was pleasant but you can tell that they don’t really have enough staff here to do anything. They also said they rebranded it from grand Hyatt to Hyatt grand Central because there aren’t any restaurants and they don’t plan to have any I was told. Even their lowest and Hyatt Place hotels offer breakfast this is an unbelievably bad experience I would not come here again and I’ve been coming here for 25 years on a regular basis

Worst experience ever. Never visit this hotel. Parking service is the worst in NYC. It takes more than 2 hours to pick up the parked car. Paying $90 USD for the parking and getting it back in 2 hours. And texting service does not work. You just have to physically stay in front of the main entrance for 2 hours to pick your car.

I must first say that the location couldn't have been more perfect and the hotel has HUGE potential to be a great one.

Couple of things.

We arrived a few hours before check in and was told we would get a call when our room was ready. Come 5pm we haven't received a call. Ended up heading back to the hotel and asking if the room was ready. It was, they just never called to tell us.

When we arrived in our room the room was not at all what was pictured online. We booked a corner suite. The size of the room ended up being fine but the room definitely didn't look like the website said.

The phone did not work in our room so anytime I needed to call the front desk I had to call with my cell phone and sit on hold for 10+ mins. After reaching someone by phone I asked them to come fix our phone and to bring more pillows to our room. 24 hours later and neither of those things happened. I ended up going to the desk to ask again. The phone was corrected but no extra pillows were brought up. Finally after a 3rd request we got pillows.

Housekeeping kept our room clean the 5 days we were there. I would have prefered them ask if we wanted housekeeping instead of them just doing it. That's on me though, as I should have said something.

Masks in the hotel was not enforced. There were multiple occasions I saw people walking around the lobby with no mask, on the elevator with no mask, and in the cafe market with no mask. Anytime I saw it, I asked the person to put on on. I'm sure you can imagine how that went. They got irritated and I just tested positive for covid.

We checked out Sunday morning at 9am and I still don't have a receipt for my stay. I have called a few times and just keep getting put on hold.

I try to be understanding as I realize were all just trying to make it in these weird COVID times. However I don't feel like this hotel went above and beyond by any measure to make our stay memorable or safe.
