Holiday Inn New York City - Times Square

The hotel is not that big and has the bare minimum, very basic if you are happy with it it's fine, certainly the location is its strong point between 38th and 39th street, in a few minutes you can reach Times Square.

The hotel has 37 floors there are two elevators. The elevator waiting time is very long. I once had to wait 10 minutes before being able to get on the elevator. On the 2nd day an elevator broke down. The wait was even longer!
In terms of breakfast, the staff was friendly and attentive.
The rooms are very good. The bed and extra bedding!
Small downside: the reception deserves a little more dynamism and goodwill.

During mornings and evenings the elevators full beyond capacity and you will end up waiting a long time unless you are on a top floor. The two elevators are simply not enough capacity for the size of the hotel.

Really nice staff. Right from reception to housekeeping. But, property needs maintenance. The elevators creak and are scary. The 2 elevators are insufficient and can take up to 15-20 mins to get.

Very small rooms and yes I've traveled in Europe hotels also. Housekeeping was inconsistent on leaving bath mat towels etc. The rooms away from 8th Ave ARE quiet with the special windows. Breakfast isn't worth the stop. The very friendly staff at front desk was much appreciated. However when they gave the wrong price by $10 for the hotel taxi to the airport it left bad taste. The many folks hanging out at park at entrance of hotel weren't scary but a Hilton within one block had many fewer folks in their front park. Lastly, when I found the emergency exit door locked in the lobby I was scared. Yes the elevators are very slow. It's obvious there's a capacity issue but their solution is to post signs saying to avoid the elevators for up to 5? Hours during rush times.

Very good place to stay for the price. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Area not really nice during the night with all those junkies in front of the hotel.

Good place to stay, since it is close to Times square and Central park. Very small lobby and perpetually crowded lifts. The pics are from my 36th floor room. Friendly staff. Gym is just basic with a few weights treadmills etc.
Step out and there are food joints, pizza, Chinese +

Had a really late check in, I was waiting for 4 hours and the room still not ready. No kidding for price as expensive as this, this is ridiculous!

Clean. Nice views. Good service. Comparable pricing. Like everything in the big Apple parking was a challenge and is not connected to the hotel.

Great location and hotel if you’re not making use of the hotel facilities. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Can get loud at times with police and fire engines so if your a light sleeper I’d suggest staying somewhere else. There is a metro stop near and it’s great for touring Times Square and the surrounding areas.

The bathroom door is sliding and you can hear/see a lot so if privacy from your roommates is important you can use the guest bathroom in the basement. I gave this place 5 stars though because the staff was so helpful, kind, and accommodating throughout our trip. The front desk people were friendly and stored our luggage for the day when we checked out. I also accidentally left a pair of really nice headphones in the room and just assumed I was out of luck and would never see them again. However housekeeping immediately returned my call to let me know they had found them and asked how I'd like them returned. So grateful!

This Hotel is in cahoots with the nearby Emerald Green Parking, your guest safety come first, you are responsible because u promotes this bad Parking shop, you also have to check the background of the management, this is irresponsible if u direct your guest to park in this place especially if the staffs at high or drunk

Ok hotel located close to Times Square and Penn Station. Rooms were a little small but clean and nice. Didn't care for the bathroom sliding door but no biggie, stored my bags for me and easy check in and check out which was nice. Would stay again if the price is right.

Very bad attention from Alexandria Morales and Crystal Calandro. We had a reservation for March 2020, but due to the pandemic, it was not possible to travel, and one of the people who would travel died of covid.
This week I contact the hotel and Crystal Calandro tells me that although the reserved days are paid, they will not take charge and I must pay them again. It is a shame the little consideration with tourists in the middle of a pandemic, they only care about making money, be careful when booking with this hotel, they can be scammed!

We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights. The Hotel is great, customer service is great until we checked out, the front desk asked if i need a car service instead of uber, they’re charging $78 Flat rate to JFK. I asked her how do i pay, she said you can pay thru credit card or cash. I did not have cash so i was gonna pay credit card. When the car service dropped us off I asked how do I pay him and he said to pay him cash and I said I did not have cash and I thought the front desk said I can pay thru card. So he dropped us off and i was forced to get cash at an ATM machine. I wish I took uber instead. I would stay at this hotel again but I would def not get their so called “car service” anymore.

You get what you pay for. A complementary 30 minute elevator wait is included in every room. Stay somewhere else.

It's a good place for the price.
Great location for times Square
Very close to subway and bus shops.plenty of taxis.
Good clean bathrooms is a plus
Only down side is the constant honking and emergency vehicle alarms thru the night. Don't expect to have sound sleep the first night if you are not from a similar busy city.

Will definitely come back

Great hotel located just a couple blocks from Times Square on the edge of the Garment District. Very busy hotel but friendly staff. Elevator is quick. Souvenir shop right beside as well as a 7-11 and a Jolibee.

Unfriendly staff. Small rooms. Not well kept. We are IHG members and are surprised by the conditions in this hotel

Love the location of this hotel.
Pro tip: do NOT wait until typical checkout time to take your luggage down the elevator, you'll endup waiting forever or using the stairs.
