Holiday Inn Express New York City - Chelsea, an IHG Hotel

Very good location.
The rooms are just right but for NYC we could have worse. On the other hand, doors and windows that close poorly are a disaster. Like the dilapidated furniture and carpet
Also note that the rooms at the back of the building share a courtyard with a night club. I slept for two hours last night, between the noise and the cold coming in through the window. I tried to see about changing rooms, but ultimately it was "impossible" even though there are still rooms on booking. Brief. An experience that spoils the stay, especially at the price of the room. And for breakfast, go your way, or go there at dawn. Few places compared to the number of rooms.

The hotel is ideally located. The rooms are rather spacious for New York. On the other hand, the cleanliness leaves something to be desired (coffee machine not, or even never, cleaned). Entrance door and windows that close poorly/damaged. Also note that the rooms at the back of the building share a courtyard with a nightclub and noise pollution is high at the end of the week.
Finally, the staff seemed unconcerned and we had the impression of being a nuisance more than anything else.

Terrible people on reception. 2$ fee for a bag to pay only in cash with a terrible rude woman. No thank you, no nothing. Never staying here again. The rooms were NOT clean. The beds were soft, but we found 3 packs of Marlboro, a hairbrush and a lot of dust under our bed.

Great location and clean rooms. Rooms are small but that’s what you can expect in NYC. Their service is wonderful. It was a little stuffy in the hallways and the elevators were a little dirty but the location and service makes up for it! Reliable place to stay and it’s a 2 min walk from everything you could need and the subway station.

Do you wanna be mistreated by receptionist? Then come here! If you have any problem they’d make sure it will stay unresolved. I would never go back to this place again.

I was genuinely excited about my stay at the Holiday Inn Express New York City - Chelsea. Being associated with IHG, I had certain expectations of hospitality and understanding. However, I was met with an unexpected hurdle when I tried to settle my bill in cash. Even though NYC has guidelines encouraging cash payments (Int. No. 1281-A), not only was I declined, but I was also asked to leave.

What compounded my disappointment was the manager's demeanor. Instead of trying to communicate or find a solution, I felt they were outright rude, leaving me feeling unheard and frustrated. This incident has deeply affected my perception of the brand. So much so, I've made the tough decision to cancel my IHG membership.

I really hope the hotel re-evaluates its approach to customer service. Travelers, like myself, choose renowned brands for peace of mind, not to end up feeling dismissed over something as straightforward as a preferred payment method.

Located nicely for our quick getaway. Rooms not as nice as I expected after leaving the Westbury Holiday Inn. Front desk staff could be a bit more welcoming. Cleaning staff were great. Hot breakfast was a plus. I'd stay again.

I stayed briefly at this hotel the room was dirty the shower didn't drain the front clerk was nasty and not caring and seemed to imply we were beneath any other guests. The room had no view and it was on the first floor behind the elevators which made a horrible racket. I was just trying to relax and was disturbed by other people yelling in the lobby. And carts. I was never so insulted as my complaints fell on deaf ears. I booked it through day use. And felt because of the discounted rate I was a second class guest.i will never use the hotel again.

The location is excellent, since it is in Chelsea, in Manhattan, a quiet area with subway stations, laundry, supermarkets and restaurants with good prices really close. Also, Times Square is a few minutes walk away. Room service is obedient and adequate. Breakfast, on the other hand, is not very abundant in variety, but it has what is necessary, with good coffee and food of average quality (yes, it is available until 10). Undoubtedly, the comfort and price make it very profitable to hire the all-you-can-eat buffet for breakfast. The room is quite small, but it is common in the area, in addition to the fact that in the end you hardly spend any time inside other than to sleep, and the beds are of quite good quality.

Our stay here in general was great. The breakfast was delicious and different every day. The cinnamon rolls are so yummy. I still dream of them. They were delicious. The front desk always greeted us with water. Not all hotels do that. The rooms were not big, but if you are here on vacation, you wake up to a great breakfast and come back at night to sleep. The staff was friendly and the room was cleaned daily. The location is perfect.
It's a 15 to 20 minute walk to Time Square.
Really close to Penn station and other metro stations. The only issue I had was with the air conditioning. It was not cold, and it was dripping water. Besides that, everything was nice.

Great location and value for shows at MSG. Rooms are typical size (teeny) but everything works, it's clean and suited our needs perfectly for a few days.

This hotel is ideally located near to Times Square and Madison square garden and all the shopping and restaurants. The room was very clean, beds soft and check in was fast. There is not a lot to do at the hotel but I was in New York so I did not spend much time in the room.

Great place to stay in nyc. Excellent location, staff, great breakfast. All you need to stay in the city, really closer to everything but also really quiet rooms. Definetely i would chose this one again in the future

Rooms were very small, we could barely get around the bed when we opened the door to the room. Breakfast was not restocked despite being busy within the “free breakfast hours” The worst part was when we checked out we realized that we left several expensive items in a dresser and we called immediately, they gave us the run around and then said that they did not have our items! In a locked room- the only people that have access would be hotel staff! Manager told me to file a police report but that they did not have our items!

Within walking distance of Penn station, Port Authority, and Times Square, but the street it's on is unpleasant and sketchy especially at night. Hotel staff was very kind and helpful. Room was very small and lacking some typical ammenities such as a mini fridge. The room had noticeable wear and tear such as peeling wallpaper, scratches on the doors, and a lock that needed to be replaced. Did not expect my room to be on the first floor right near the reception desk, so I could hear every conversation. Overall, not a good hotel experience, but for the price point and proximity to what I had planned in NYC, it got the job done.

Staff were great! Breakfast was good! First room was clean, but bathtub had a hole in the bottom, they gave us a new room. The wallpaper was stapled on and peeling. The smell of smoke and weed in the hallways was awful. Location was good. Probably wouldn’t stay here again.

The hotel is good among many options. The cost benefit ratio is one of the best. Room always clean and organized.

Hotel very well located and very clean: I recommend!

Our one-week stay at the end of May/beginning of June 2023 went very well: great central location, simple but very clean room (too bad no small fridge), good breakfast (a small bottle of water offered daily), friendly staff. Small negative point: the luggage deposit is chargeable when it could be free given the price of the rooms.

Adequate, convenient, available, affordable.
Spent one short night here during transportation issues. Perfect for that.
