I've never had better Italian food than at this restaurant. The servings are very generous! The pasta dish with vodka sauce was quite tasty! The salad was crisp and delicious! There was an amazing assortment of bread. The quality of the service was fairly acceptable. Before heading to attend our Broadway performance, I had a great meal here, and the setting was ideal.

Great place, good food, nice service.if you looking for good Italian food this is the place.

Carmines is a old family style restaurant portions are big enough to share with 2-3 people they use good quality ingredients I ordered something with icecream I forgot the name of it but the vanilla icecream was super rich. Definitely recommend this place for a nice date or celebration.

Wow! This Italian restaurant really made my evening. Food was delicious; taste, texture, spiciness, saltiness, presentation were all on point. Service by Arturo was personalized, friendly and he was at hand to answer questions and make recommendations. Very patient. Ambience at this location was perfect for a cool July evening.
As anywhere in NY, parking is an issue. But it was worth it. Would definitely be back.

I’m an old customer of Carmine’s. I was at table 13, my server was Denise her hygiene was very poor and every time I spoke with her about an odor she seemed very confused. She reeked and smelled like alcohol. The table next to me also had a problem with her.

This place was highly recommended. As a first-time visitor to NYC, I can say that I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and this "frozen cosmo" was the best cocktail!

One of my favorite spots on the UWS. Pedro was incredibly helpful in his recommendations, the stuffed artichoke was way beyond anything I expected. Always a great experience here.

Omg. This place is Awesome. The food is Delicious and plentiful. The staff are kind and polite. I would highly recommend this place. A bit pricey but worth every dollar. I will be visiting this place again, and again.

Great service, Good quality food and very huge portions. Be prepared to share a dish versus getting individual ones if you're smaller than a group of five.

I have now had two bad experiences at this location. The first time was this summer when I went with my sister and received undercooked chicken, with so much garlic you couldn’t taste anything else and over cooked calamari. At least that time the staff wasn’t rude so I didn’t complain or leave a bad review. My sister and I wanted to go out with my grandfather and decided to give this location another try since she was given a gift card. As soon as I got there I ordered the house white which was served WARM. Like undrinkably warm for a white wine. I politely asked if they had a colder bottle to pull from and the waitress Rachel said it wasn’t a problem. She came back about 10 minutes later and said the bartender all of the wine is the same temperature so she put it in the refrigerator for ten minutes and gave me the same glass. The wine was obviously the same temperature as 10 minutes in the fridge doesn’t do much. So I said well can I get a different wine that’s colder. Again Rachel said it wasn’t a problem, but this time she came back immediately and said “the bar tender said all the white wines are the same exact temperature. ” Meaning take it or leave it. I said that I would rather just leave then and left. The bartender obviously couldn’t be bothered. I have always loved carmines of 42nd street but I will never again go to either of their locations after being treated so rudely. I drink white wine all of the time and know what temperature it should be served at. If the wine fridge was broken or hadn’t be set properly that could have been stated. The way that it was handled insinuated that I don’t know what I’m talking about, or that the bartender didn’t believe me. Having a bad plate or a bad glass of wine doesn’t kill a restaurant for me, but bad service definitely does.

One of the best places I've ever visited. Food was great, the portions of the past are huge and of course it's in Broadway! I totally recommend it. Although, you may wait a while if you don't have reservations.

Maybe they used to be good, but I was disappointed.
Starting with the service: As soon as we were seated the maitre'd advised us that there was a 90 minute time limit at the table. Great way to start a meal! I responded that it depends on the service.
About the food:
The baked clams were mushy and overly salted.
Caesar salad was good.
We ordered meatballs and angel hair pasta. The food arrived warm, not hot and was served by some guy in a winter coat and knit cap. I suspect that our food was just waiting on a shelf without a heat lamp for a while. The sauce was bland. The meatballs had a good consistency, but very little flavor. The pasta was cooked properly, at least. Perfectly al-dente.
Prices were reasonable for the serving size. Everything was family and style and the portions were generous.
With a few tweaks this place could be great.

Portions are huge, food is flavorful, service was quick and the waiters were friendly. There were 8 of us and we ordered 2 apps and 4 dishes. We all were able to take large portions of food home. The restaurant was thorough with vaccine checks. They also had a good amount of space between parties, which made us feel more comfortable dining inside. Overall, I would strongly recommend this restaurant.

Good food, i had to take the food to go, cuz i couldn't enjoy it in the actual restaurant
(even tho i had to reheat it at home because it was kinda cold), bad service, i had reservations for a table with "Heater" and i didn't even get one me and my date were freezing and they didn't even try to give me the table, actually made a reservation for, also they were letting people in when they just got there with no reservations (favoritism much?) Careless

Thank you Charles. You and your team were great. Portebella steak was awesome. Chicken parmigiana over pasta Marinara also great. Mix green salad / penne a la vadka, I celebrated my 50th birthday with the family.

The food was excellent! The large portions are Amazing and the great service was appreciated. We enjoyed ourselves. (but, you would think when spending so much, they would at least give the Birthday person a slice of cake!?)

Not to happy that I being rescheduled 3 times this week my initial delivery was for 11/19/21 and was rescheduled for the 22 and rescheduled for 23 and guess what now I’m rescheduled for the 24 got no water in my cooler and do I have to spend on more whole day waiting for you to deliver not acceptable

It was okay. The portions were humongous just like I had heard. The taste of the food was alright. Over the top expensive. Our waitress left much to be desired with her energy/attitude. My experience in a nutshell was alright. Do I see myself going back, maybe not. Not too sure.

Great food, a welcoming environment, and friendly staff. A word of warning, though. The portions are huge so don't bite off more than you can chew:)

Seated quickly. Excellent service and nice ambiance. Bread and water right away. This place would get 5 stars were it not for one MAJOR flaw: BLAND food. I had to pour HUGE amounts of the cheese, salt, red pepper and black pepper to make the food edible. Fun place and would recommend for families, but for NYC, I expect a little more flavor.

Very nice looking place, service was great, the strawberry shortcake was yummy. But I had the veal and it was way to salty? , it was take out so I didn't take it back, ooh well Happy Birthday to me?

Been coming here for years and love it. Dirty secret: come at a time when it isn't busy (like 3 pm). It's even better.

Service was awful. Meatballs were bland. Baked clams were overly salted.

Hey it's Carmine's. Never had a bad meal or dining experience here. Family loves this place.

Terrible! Waited for almost an hour even though reservations were made, refrigerator cold bread said they couldn't warm it up they serve it like that, steak was going to take 50 minutes to cook, dirty cup, extremely loud couldn't even hear myself giving the waiter my order, over priced, I don't even know what else to say, I walked out. Truly sad.

Food was great, even pasta was not al dente.
Also some salt in the pasta was missing but maybe because I was born and raised in Italy so these people probably don't know exactly how authentic italian food can taste. But it was good overall.
Meat was great and artichokes were fantastic.
Food came quickly. Bussers were nice and professional.
Unfortunately Eduardo (or Edward), our waiter, wasn't good at all. He had an attitude, he rolled his eyes more than once to us which is totally not acceptable from a waiter who is serving food to a customer but we tried to ignore him. The dude really hates his job you can tell, so that ruined the experience a bit.
The rest of the waiters seemed nice.
Good food overall but it's really huge quantity. Not sure I would repeat.

We sat at the bar becuz I didn't check ahead. You're supposed to make reservations. Next reservation time was hours later. So much food to bring home

Aside from the sticker shock of a very expensive bar bill, food was great, staff on the ball and an excellent front desk doorman that validates your entry. Well done.

Biggest portions ever! Went with two other people and ordered 4 dishes, still we can’t finish them all. Best Italian so far.
