Elmer's Restaurant (Tacoma, WA)

We always enjoy our visits to Elmer’s Tacoma. This visit was no different. Staff was friendly and efficient and the food was fresh and tasty.

Great place for a great breakfast with friends. The biscuits and gravy weren't the best but it was still a well prepared meal, fair price, and friendly, courteous service.

As soon as we walked into Elmer’s, I knew it was going to be good. Excellent Prime Rib sandwich and fries. The claim chowder was also very good! The German pancake looked awesome and we’ll be back to have it!

Excellent food and family friendly restaurant! Service was great and the Dungeness crab Benedict was tasty!

First time being there and the place was awesome. Our waiter was friendly and all smiles. Service was quick but homely. Meaning he was quick but still ask how we were and made friendly.small talk. Food was great. I had the Dungeoness Crab BLT salad. Was not disappointed. They weren't stinging on The crab or bacon. Will definitely be back.

Food was sorta meh. Fluffy biscuits with the biscuits and gravy were not so fluffy. The BLTA was alright. Best thing about the place were the employees.service was perfect.wish the food was better.

Great food and very nice customer service. I had fish and chips and it was sooo good with malt vinegar and tartar sauce! Nice, family restaurant.

Elmer's is similar to IHOP or even Denny's, but better in every way. Better food and better service, noticably better. Much more attention to detail and quality. It's not fine dining, but if this is the type of restaurant you are looking for, Elmer's is the best.

Absolutely amazing service and the food is so good! Second time here, and we will be coming back!

Dungness Eggs Benedict - chunks of crabmeat topped with bacon and a poached egg. Hollandaise was creamy and delicious too!

German Pancakes - first time trying these pancakes and they were incredible! Think, with crispy edges and were delicious topped with lime juice and butter or the 3 Berry compote.

Good place for breakfast. They serve huge German style pancakes, make their hollandaise from scratch, and provide good service. For a gluten-free option, you can try the Avocado Eggs Benedict over crispy hash browns instead of toast.

So I called and asked for a to go order. Due to the fact people are not fully vaccinated, and continues to go out to eat in public venues. My. 7yr old son has weak lungs and I just don't want to put him in harms way. With that being said I tried to order a to-go meal for my family and was denied. Basically you have to put yourself in danger to be able to enjoy Elmer's on 72nd. I'm totally disgusted at this fact. I mean what's the point in eating inside ONLY? Truly Never coming here again!

Used to be 5 stars but they must’ve have changed owners or due to covid (prices going up on everything) the quality of food isn’t just the same. Bacon used to be thick juicy and not more the meat side now is like regular grocery store bacon. (Less Meat and much more thin) tilamook potato cakes are also made different now.

Staff were kind of flat, and polite enough but not exceptional. They do not do to go orders. Order your meal from seating. Ask for a doggie bag. Pack it yourself and pay? The menu isn't all that exciting.

We both ordered the prime rib. It came with mashed potatoes and squash, garlic bread and a couple of onion rings. He had his steak medium rare and had the clam chowder. My steak was medium well and I started off with the house salad. He had an Amaretto and I had a margarita on the rocks. At first I thought the size of my drink was on the small side, but it was quite strong and I ended up being glad about the size. Our meal came with au jus and horseradish. Other than the onion rings being a bit too crunchy we were both happy with our meals.

The service was very good and the environment was clean and inviting. The prices were comparable to other nice establishments. I'd happily return.

The staff always are friendly and make sure that our food/experience is great! Kyle certainly serves with pride and respect!

Haven't been to Elmer's in 30 years. Had an amazing breakfast. Everything was great, from the food to the service. We will return soon!

Went for lunch and there was a 20 to 25 min. Wait on a thurs. Nope not doing it so we left and went to a different restaurant.

I've been going to Elmer's since I was a kid. It's always an enjoyable experience. I've never met a meal I didn't like.

Waiting time is way too long- we arrived before 10 and got our food at around 11: 20. The food is pretty good but not good enough to justify this waiting time.

Very excellent, we had a group of ten and we're quoted 30-40 minute wait time. Ended up just about spot on. Food was fantastic, service was great. Saw some reviews on here saying people though it was weird everything came with a biscuit instead of toast, I asked for toast and they were very accommodating and substituted the biscuit. Would definitely visit again!

The service is excellent. The prime rib is very good, even the vegetables were crisp and not overcooked. It is a nice family restaurant with reasonable prices

I go here for the German pancakes. Service is usually pretty good. Food comes quick. Never had any issues at this location.

drink menu. Mediocre service food was ok. Staff is friendly restaurant is clean and has a nice fireplace

It's not terrible or anything. It's a nice and large establishment. The breakfast food was pretty bland. There was a 25 minute wait. On a lighter note, I really enjoyed the beer battered fish and chips. They were quite delicious.

Elmer's does it right! They have three new healthy breakfast specials. Most items prepared from scratch. Also, a pleasant dining experience. Everyone is happily chatting instead of loud annoying music.
Make it your destination dining experience with resonal pricing and excellent service. No reservations, ahead. No take-out. And, it's worth the wait.

Really great food. Lots to choose from. Alot of food items you don't find at other restaurants. Loved it. I tried the German pancake with berries, served with eggs, and bacon

I just called to order my favorite crab eggs benedict for pick up. Since when there is no pick up or delivery. SMH. Not good for business.

My family and I went there for the 1st time and it's it's a great restaurant, great customer service and food is delicious my kids really loved it

I can not believe that during an epidemic like COVID they do not do takeout, it appears that they do not care about their customers and sorry but your food is not so so good that I am going to risk the health of my family by dining in.

So I haven't been to Elmer's since I was in Oregon usually go to Denny's or IHOP nope not anymore. The blueberry pancakes with marionberry was the best breakfast/dinner I have had in I don't know how long. My friend had the french toast. Oh my we switch some and they melted in your mouth. This is a must go. The staff was Amazing they had everything on time. The management should be very happy with the cooks to the waiters n clean staff. I Will be back soon. Them blueberry pancakes are calling my name.and did I mention the BACON WOOOO thick cut of yummies. Thank you Elmer's you guys are what a restaurant should strive to be.

I've been to Elmer's twice and will definitely make it the breakfast spot. The food is delicious with generous portions and the price is great! I especially love the kids meals for under $5! The service was quick and friendly despite a busy morning. Elmer's is great!

It's not your typical restaurant where you going to order and cakes and eggs they have all kinds of different things on the menu my wife had eggs Benedict today some of it was excellent I had the fish and chips and it was really good. All the people that I dealt with there were very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place

As a big fan of breakfast diners I was pleasantly surprised! The service, the food, the atmosphere, everything absolutely amazing! The prices don’t bite at all. And our coffee and pancakes very served for free with our omelettes! Isn’t it so cool? I’ll definitely come back for more! Highly recommend! 10/10

Couldn't even order carry-out they only allow dine in which alienates many customers during this pandemic. Sorry to say won't be eating here again.

Excellent food great server. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is one breakfast was not the right one but instead of waiting to get the correct one the person aye it anyway. We will definitely go back since normally it is a 5 star experience

Went there they screwed my order up and my wife got to eat while i sat there.they came back correct and yuck.i didnt wanna be a jerk so i to go boxed it and gave it to a homeless person. No flavor, no salt, yuck. So dissapointed should of asked for refund.

With to few worker the wait was long however the service was great and as always the food is the best. Will I be back yes its my to go place with friends and family.

My first time and I loved it people are great as long as you have respect and are enjoying your time is all good

First time here today I gottah say everything we ordered tasted delicious and our server Lily was very attentive and had excellent customer service

I absolutely love this place. When I vacation in Oregon I make a special trip to this specific restaurant because the staff is so nice and the food is very very good.

All 5 meals where very late and the last of the 5 was over 7 minutes from 4th serving. Food was hot including the coleslaw. Will not return.

Nice get together with family, friends or just yourself. Clean, spacious, staff very friendly. Following Covid-19 protocols. Also, the restaurant is in a great location just off I-5.

Our waiter, Richard, was amazing. Food was great as usual. Always recommend this place. We go out of our way to go there whenever we go to Oregon. Wish there was one in Reno Nevada

Asked for a table and was told it would be 30 minutes, no customers ahead of us and multiple people left as well arrived. So, told them we could take any seating and was told it would still be 30 minutes. Needless to say we went elsewhere.

Stopped for breakfast at 10: 35 on Thursday morning. Eating alone. Checked in, told 30 minute wait, agreed. Sat for 45 minutes, watched two pairs who checked in AFTER me - watched them put names on list, take pager, sit down - get seated. Stood up and left.

Took 45 minutes, but I got the message. No room for single women here.

Been there twice in the last 2 weeks. Food so delicious we will definitely be back again and again and the service is top notch too

Best breakfast in town. The food is great, the prices are reasonable and the staff is all very friendly. I eat breakfast there weekly. Be prepared to wait for about 20 munutes but it's worth it.

My waitress Lilly was prompt, courteous, and was empowered to grant my request to be seated near an outlet so that I could make some phone calls, as I was stranded in the vicinity.when none were available, she cheerfully took my phone to an outlet, plugged it in returned to take my order and delivered my order so quickly after it was made that I had to let the fries cool off to eat them. Oh yeah and shecs very cute, which was nice, considering what the alternative might have been. All in all my short visit to Elmer's was a positive one. Highly professional staff, obviously well versed in the craft of customer service. The food was way above average! Cooked and served in time enough to make a fast food chain blush, reasonably priced. Moderately proportioned servings and a clean, distraction free table setting made this visit one I will definately repeat under better circumstances! Thanks Lilly! Keep doing it the way you know how!
