I was having a meal with my elderly brother-in-law and his wife, and I was so moved by one of the staff members who served us with a cheerful and bright smile and ingrained kindness from the moment we first met until the moment we left after the meal that I would like to express my gratitude through this column. I would like to give it to you. The person's name, written lightly along with the table number on the bill, was 'Kyung-hwa'. If you visit this restaurant, ask that person to serve you and you will find out that what I say is trustworthy.

Tons of food options, and the popular dish seemed to be the Korean pancakes! The Bibambap definitely had a ton of different types to try which was fun too.

7 years later we came back to this spot. And it's still one of my favorite korean restaurants. The food here is sooo good. And the people are super sweet and helpfull. This is a must go if you are in the area.

Great Korean food! A busy place with a large menu and fast service. If you are ready to wait 45 minutes (on weekends) it will be worth it.

Food sucks. Its not real korean foods. Over price. What's going with restaurants in this area.

I stopped here when it was a snow day and everything else was closed. I got the beef Yakisoba but I think I'm going to come back again soon because the menu had a lot of variety.

Very traditional Korean style restaurant. Cooking is at the table. Food is delicious. Service is also traditional so efficient not chatty.

I have visited the bakery next door several times and every time I went, there would be swarms of people flocking to this restaurant. So, I had to try it. Now I know why. It’s an absolute must.

Love the food and service there. I ordered a few items for late night food on Christmas: Seafood Pancake, Galbi, Spicy Shredded Beef Soup, Seafood Jabchae and Rice Cakes, Dumplings, & Eggs Soup. The reason that I didn't give them 5 stars because I think they should pack the Rice Cakes & Dumplings soup separately with the broth because when I brought it home, it doesn't have that much broth in there. I couldn't finish everything so I left it in the fridge and eat tomorrow and there no more broth because the rice cakes soaked all the broth.

Service was poor. Server will talk with you only when she’s taking an order. Then they’ll just ignore you and go away when you were asking things. Also, I asked my yakisoba with no onion, but it came with onion and it took a long time. Other people were already finished their food when mine was arriving. Taste was just okay.

Update: I went there again because my friends wanna eat there. I guess their korean foods are good but definitely their japanese foods are not. I got yakisoba again cuz I didn’t want anything else on the menu. I was hoping it’ll be better this time. Also asked with no onion and again it came with onion and took like 40 min. My friends also finished their food when it arrived. Never coming back. So disappointed with the service too.

My FAVORITE Korean restaurant. Been coming here since year 2000. Everything & everyone about this place #1 in my book!

This place is a classic that keeps their quality and standards high. A huge variety of Korean food and some Japanese options as well. Highly recommended!

Terrible and expensive. Not a good combo. Service was awful. And, I leave this review noting that we loved going to this place for years.

This was my third visit to this place and probably the last.
We got there an hour before closing time mentioned on their website and kept being harassed by the servers to hurry and order. At the end of the meal the server snatched my bowl out my hand as well in order to get us to leave and rushed us out to leave. Don't accept customers if you are going to treat them rudely and rush them out. When I've come here previously I've never been treated this way.

Lots of good quality food served by friendly and very energetic staff. Recommend the bulgogi and the bibimbap.

Good food at reasonable prices. The Yechon special for two was a great variety of dishes at a reasonable price. Service is good. The atmosphere is nothing to write home about but it serves the purpose.

Loved this place. Got it from a Washington Post article of best places to try in the DMV. Got in, they provided the lettuce, as well as different mini dishes to place on the table. They then cooked the beef and chicken right in front of us! The staff were kind and caring, and provided bottled water. I couldn’t stop eating!

Price is going up and taste is getting worse. Nice side dishes and beautifully dressed servers in Hanbok Korean traditional attire.

Food was great! Service was horrible.
Long story short the waitress came to our table asking for a higher Tip.
There was a misunderstanding with the tip.
Nonetheless the lady came and attacked verbally one of my friends, raising her voice.
Brough a calculator and started doing the math stating the tip was too low, which we gave a reasonable tip.
Regardless of the amount we gave, the waitress crossed the line with her tone of voice demanding more tips. I loved the food unfortunately because of her I would never go back. My friend was kind enough to stand up and ask the cashier to charge her more for the tip, the cashier did not take her money and told her it was okay.
It was Halloween night we had a great time at a Hunted House and this lady had to bring her negativity towards us. We would have tipped her more if she only had manners

At this pandemic period, we want to eat outside but the request was refused by the owner since they only offered this service to people with the happy hour. They don’t care about customers feeling. Also they enforced to charge you 20% of the tips without your permission I really don’t know how they can do that after you sign the receipt and charge the amount they want to charge. Needless to say there was no service they only care about filling all tables out

I’d definitely come here for Korean side dishes! Free refills and you get a variety. The portion sizes of the dishes are smaller, but adequate. Very flavorful overall for dishes containing meat and seafood, but I’d stay away from sushi and dishes containing octopuses as they don’t taste so fresh.

We recognize the quality of sushi and whatever we ordered from menu and also service with great attitude. And we make sure to let them know every time. And so, it gets repeated over and over again. Never been dissatisfied at this place. Always great attitude.

Interesting place with a huge menu. Loved the sides, and the meat, but it was a bit pricey for the quality. Likely the cost is because of the variety, you get about a dozen small sides.

Delicious Korean BBQ and Japanese cuisine! Great service but they were out of most wines and beers when we were there to celebrate.

It's one of the popular reasons why Annandale is also known as "Asiandale" - really good Korean cuisine, with some Japanese favorites thrown in.

We drive quite a while to get here and pass numerous other Korean BBQ restaurants along the way, but none are as good as this place. The quality of their meat is phenomenal. We usually go in a group of about 6 and everyone orders something different, and we end up all sharing, so we’ve tried a good portion of their menu, and everything we’ve ordered has been so good. We’ve never ordered their sushi or sashimi, so can’t comment on that. This place is definitely a favorite of ours, and it’s worth the the drive for us!

Had an excellent dinner here! It was crowded when we came in, but we were able to grab a window seat when we got there. There is a bell system, so you can just press the button when you are ready to order or have questions. Waitress was attentive and friendly. Highly recommend everything we got including the bulgogi and sushi. Banchan was plentiful and delicious too!

The food was ok, nothing great, but the service was horrible. I visited during lunch, and was waiting quite awhile and saw the people looking at me, but they didn’t come over to seat me. I tried to make eye contact across the room and wave, but nothing. A man and woman came in behind me and the hostess came rushing over to seat them. The man had to say multiple times: she was here first. It took awhile to have my order taken, and then it was dropped off quickly and no words were spoken. They never once checked on me to see if I needed anything. I dropped my chopsticks and wanted new ones, but they seemed to avoid my table. I ended up eating my food with a spoon since I couldn’t get anything else and I was in a rush since this was taking an insane amount of time. I waited a long time to get my check, and it wasn’t until I stood up and blocked the aisle that they came over. I would never go back to be treated so poorly.

The food and service was phenomenal! It was quick to get seated and waited on. My friend and I ordered one of the 2 person specials with multiple courses. And. It. Was. An. Amazing. Experience. Everything was delicious and we enjoyed the atmosphere. The picture is just of the appetizers that come with the special, which came with a whole mackerel, squid, and some of the best sashimi I've had recently. The waiters and waitress wear traditional clothing and take great mask measures. Spent about 25 per person, but it was 11/10 worth it!

A beautiful experience overall and great sushi for a korean restaurant just had to try a couple of pieces and loved the food.a lot of food for each order too.

Very busy! But the food is delicious and the price is just right! I bought regular Bimbap. The waitresses are swift and quick and lots of food. Unfortunately I couldn't finish everything and only could take some of the food.

If you want to take some food home, from this dish specifically. You can only take the main dish, the seaweed, and the rice. The mash potatoes, fish, and kimchi are only at the restaurant. I finished the green potatoes and miso though.

This is second times here and I got salmon salad this time. After meal they’re give tiny yogurt drink is just cute.

Haven't gone in a few years, but my most recent visit wasn't as good as before. Food was underseasoned and waitstaff seemed to be overworked or understaffed.

A staple here in the DMV, Yechon never disappoints. This is the best place to get Korean food. This place is always busy so best to get there early. The food is consistently good and gets to your table fast. Portions are very generous.

My friend and I had dinner at this place the other day. Food poisoning. I suffered for two days and my friend did too.
My stomach is still tender. I had another bad upset stomach today again.

Actually I called the restaurant the next day; they hardly said sorry and They were just in a interrogation mode to ask a bunch of questions like what did you eat what time did you eat? ! I told them all the details. That was about it.

Guys, you want to go to a nice restaurant to enjoy sushi. Oh my goodness, not here anymore….

Food poisoning alert: I have liked this place for a few years, but earlier this week both my friend and I experienced gastric distress after ordering the croaker fish entree and sushi; the salmon sushi in particular was sub-standard and seemed like they sweetened it with some sauce to potentially hide the reality. Restaurants: yeah I get it covid supply chain issues and high heat / humidity; but if something is not fresh don't offer it on menu or serve it! We're not coming back

This place has been a staple for me since I moved to Virginia 12 years ago! I love that it's 24 hours and the food is ALWAYS good! If you have never had Korean before, start here! If you love Korean food, go here! You won't be disappointed! I love the Eel rolls, the Mandu Guk (fried dumplings) they are the freshest and best I've ever had, Bulgogi and Galbi see amazing! If you love soup like me, the Maewoon Galbi tang (spicy beef soup) is awesome, they have a mild version (Galbi tang), Bo yang yang (goat soup), Jjamppong (spicy seafood soup). That's just to get you started. Go alone or with a friend or a group, it's a great place for food and laughs.

Edit: Been going for almost 16 years now and I feel the same haha! The hours are different due to COVID so definitely check because they are no longer 24 hours but still a great place to eat.

Updated review. Food quality has gone downhill. Less food portions than prior and not as good. The sushi and sashimi is not good any longer. The ahi tuna doesn't taste like tuna and is something else (I think it was oil fish)

The service is always great and the food is good. The japchae and vegetables pancake here are my go to dishes. Mackerel is good too if you like fish.

This place gets packed, and for good reason. All the employees were very busy and still kind - thank you for the hard work! I loved my eel dish.

Terrible Service. The food since is cooked in front of you make it special yet is not the best. Waitress just choose who to treat them nice. If you are not lucky yyoou can be there waiting and waiting and waiting. Go better to others restaurants around

First off, food is good. But the waitress here have no respect towards customers, it feels like they doing you a favor by feeding you. So rude, they even force you to pay them tip however much they want. I was there yesterday, used my card to make payment to round off my total I only did 15% but no the waitress wasn’t happy she came back to me saying and pointing at the receipt minimum tip is 18%. I mean I understand tipping is a good habit but no restaurant make it mandatory that you have to pay their minimum tipping value. Very disappointed, not coming back ever again.

The food is delicious, but because the waiter openly asked me for tips during the checkout. I am troubled. Bill 110, I gave 128 in total. I gave a 16% tip because she said it was not enough! My goodness. Later, my friend gave the server another 20 dollars. This makes me very angry, and hope that the store will correct the server's behavior of asking for tips!
