This is our go to spot! The wings, sushi, hot and sour soup, shrimp and broccoli, general to, lo Mein, egg fu yung.every meal we ever ordered here has been good. So where do I go on Tuesdays? ! And the owner always treats us right!

Been about a year since I have been there. Food was good. Mostly carryout on a Friday night. They were so nice to my children in accommodating what they wanted for their meal. Moo shu beef with the plum sauce was very good.

Good people at Mandarin Court. Our pickup order was slightly delayed due to so many orders. But they apologized and offered free meals and drinks due to the wait. Totally unnecessary, as the wait was totally reasonable. And by the way, the food we waited for was totally worth it. My son loved the California Rolls. The kani salad was amazing. And the seaweed salad was the biggest and freshest I've ever tasted. Will def come back here when I'm in the Dumfries area again. Thank you Mandarin Court!

I like the people that work there. It was great service. Overall I had a bad meal the next day I came back and they gave me a new one. However, if I'm paying $40 for the meal $10 in a tip, the Chinese food could be a lot better. The chicken was mushy. I asked for crispy. The meat has to be a better quality, especially in an area like this. You can go to Fairfax or Washington DC. Was this area should be in the same category and upscale Chinese? And you won't find that mushy skin? It's hard to explain it just didn't taste good. It didn't sit well in my stomach and again if I'm paying $50 a meal for one person I expect it to be delicious

Went here for lunch with 6 other ladies. We were the only ones in there for awhile. It took them like 20 minutes to bring us drinks. Then they waited another 20 before taking our order. I am not a fan of peas and always get no veggies in my fried rice. Food was good, I got the cashew chicken lunch special. When the bill came, I had an extra $1.50 charge. When I asked why, they told me it's because of the no veggies. Still confused I asked why. She said they had to make my rice fresh since it was different so charged more! Should not all the food be made fresh? ! I get no veggies everywhere I go and this is the only place that has ever charged me for that! Plus the server should have told me there was an extra fee when I asked if it could be done. So while the food was good, the service was awful. I won't return here.

Stopped in with my two young boys at about 4: 30pm. We were the only ones there. It took 35 mins to get seaweed salad and fried rice with chicken and veggies. The sushi I ordered took 40 mins, mostly bc the manager, who started making it early, took a phone call and walked around for 15 mins leaving my unfinished rolls behind the counter. He eventually got around to finishing it and bringing it out. We ate. The food wasn’t bad.

When the waitress came over to ask if we needed anything else, I very calmly and politely voiced my displeasure about how long it took. She asked I wanted to speak to the manager and I said yes the manager came out the one who was making my sushi and I again politely and Conway voiced my displeasure. After about my second sentence, he flipped out saying “no pay” “finish” “go” - I could not believe his behavior. I asked if I could finish what I had to say and he kept saying “no pay” “finish” “go” as he frantically walked his way back into the kitchen. So we didn’t pay. We finished. And we left. I tipped the waitress bc it wasn’t her fault. I will never go back. You shouldn’t either. Stay away from this place.

Well I despise throwing food away. I did so tonight. Mandarin Court is just not my cup of tea. Let’s look at why.

Egg rolls- inside of the eggroll is as mushy as baby food. After asking my ex-wife, she said that every time she has gotten them. They come that way

I got the chicken teriyaki bento box- the salad was amazing. Lettuce, avocado, cucumber and ginger dressing

Chicken teriyaki sticks, eh, they are middle of the road. Not bad but not great

California roll- very poor, weird taste and even weirder smell

Spicy tuna roll- horrible, awful taste and the smell was worse.

Philadelphia roll- wonderful, the stand out hit of the meal.

Sesame chicken Chinese dish- again if these people think what they send out smells even close to normal food. They would not serve it. This smelled of Indian spices like clove or cinnamon.

Overall, I am a top reviewer of over 5,000,000 page views and 2,000,000 photo views.

I will say to NOT to make this your first choice.

I love this place! My family and I eat here weekly and the food and service is always great! We normally order sushi and either the spicy fried rice or lo mein and the portions are appropriate for the price! I’ve tried most of the sushi and all of them are amazing and fresh, and their fried rice and lo mein is the best I’ve had in the Dumfries/Woodbridge area! Highly recommend

Worst sushi I've ever had. The eel tastes outdated and the rice is overly sticky and mushy. It was poorly made. This is not authentic sushi. The owner only wants to sell cheap takeout, not cuisine. Don't come here. Shame on them!

We have become regular customers. The food is fantastic and the portions are sizable. The owner helps us work around gluten and peanut allergies, and even with some different preparation, our whole family loves everything. Highly recommended!

Best Chinese restaurant in Potomac Shores, Dumfries. Foot was hot and fresh. Will certainly return. I dine in this time but will try the takeout.

The food was delicious and service was great and they even took their time to let us take pictures. And the atmosphere was pretty calming because the one, that's farther from my home. Just gave you a little food and yet, it was so expensive. But in all means, this was the best experience ever

I have been ordering from this location for several years. It used to be good but the taste is so bland now. It’s just not great. The last time the chicken tasted old and was hard. So we took al little break. We ordered last night and the rice had no flavor, and the broccoli was too hard to eat.

However the delivery guy we get all the time is very nice, and the food is “hot” which makes me feel like it will be good but i just get disappointed.

If y’all hired a new cook… bring the one one back.

Best place in Virginia, been coming since I moved here from CA 3 yrs ago and it's always delicious. I've tried tons of other places that people recommend and say it's the best and I'm always disappointed just like the Mexican food here so if you want fresh, hot, delicious Chinese try this place. They also always go above and beyond to make everyone happy.

I don't go here often enough. Covid sorta knocked them off the radar. But this is quality food and service. Great sushi and great Chinese.

Been getting delivery from these folks since 2008. Have had dine in many times as well. Never been disappointed. Read complaints of " lack of flavor". Suggest telling people what you expect when ordering. I order triple delight or beef and vegetables and other dishes.but specify " little spicy ", " spicy " or "extra spicy "
OMG it's awesome. Also. I always add black pepper.fair bit to my Won Ton soup.what a difference. Sometimes I order chicken Chow Mein.and here and anyplace I travel get told or asked.you know just cabbage and chicken? Crunchy noodle right. Assume so they don't get complaint.or even they're not fond of it. Really bland as made. But throw those crunchy noodles with 4-5 packets of soy sauce in it.now you're cooking. Awesome!
Have to know what you want or how you like it.and ask for it that way. Suspect you'll be more satisfied.

This place is awesome.not much else down this way is. They really try to take good care of their regulars too.surprise extras sometimes.tray of sushi, order of satay beef.egg rolls etc.

I actually like this place a lot. The manager really takes the time to order fast and check in with those waiting. Foods always good too.

The service is always great, they’re always very nice and helpful and the food is even better! Very quick and efficient while still keeping your food hot and ready to enjoy

Got the moo shoo pork, chicken and fried rice, and spring rolls. All excellent with good sized portions. Eaxh good enough for 2 people. Love the spring rolls. Highly recommend!

Their chicken teriyaki is amazing, highly recommended restaurant. The guy making sushi at the front is great. Love this place.

Food was subpar. Ordered through their website which recommended to order through beyond menu app. I paid for an egg roll and when I picked up the food there was a container that looked like it had egg rolls but when I got home to open it, it was rice not egg rolls. So never got the egg rolls I paid for.

Food and service were amazing. Kind people and food that tastes like they care. Walked in randomly on a Saturday-was not disappointed.

Pan Fried Noodles, w/ Vegetables & Shrimp (came in separate container in a Delicious light sauce). Overall Outstanding!

The food is good but they have turned the inside into a storage area! I just sat waiting for my food wanting to clean everything

Have to give a poor review for CF24 Lobster with Mixed Vegetables. The "lobster" wasn't even reminiscent of any lobster I've ever had. A bit like chicken. With a price a good $10 more than most other entrees I figured it had to be real lobster. No idea what it actually might have been.

Mandarin Court in Dumfries is the worst. The lo mien was horrible. The chicken dish was ok but strictly OK. The owners tried to argue with me and called me ‘uneducated’ about Chinese food.

I was recently talking to a cop who works in the area. He said a few years ago the owner handed his license to someone and let them take a picture of it. THEN the owner went to the police station AFTER they left his restaurant and he complained to them about them taking a picture of his license! What a ridiculous person, the owner is. WHY would you allow someone to take a picture of your license then go to the cops after the person leaves your restaurant? The cop said he thought the owner is very foolish and said the owner is annoying.

Always friendly staff, plenty of good food for the price. I order on the app and never have problems.

We will not be going back. Here’s why:
- We were overcharged since the prices went up! We could’ve paid that much at hibachi buffet and got way more.
- Don’t get any chicken dish that is coated and fried because when you bite into it its mostly chicken fat!
- Sauce they put in food is way too sweet.

We have ordered Chinese from here for a year and a half after trying other places and not liking them. After tonight we will not be ordering from here again. After feeding my 1 year old out of my chicken lo mein I was eating and noticed a CATERPILLAR cooked in my food! Between my toddler and I, we had eaten almost a third of my meal, and this would have been my next bite. I am absolutely discussed and will be leaving a message on their machine tonight and calling tomorrow when they are open.

Order direct; not through GrubHub or DoorDash. Mandarin Court has their own driver, and they keep the 30% commission that would otherwise go elsewhere.
Their sushi is also excellent, with the traditional California Roll, Smoked Eel roll and Spider Roll being particular favorites. When checking reviews, I tend to look at the negatives first, because there tends to be fewer of them. If you ordered through GrubHub and your food wasn't delivered, that's not the fault of the restaurant! Definitely give them a try!

May not be able to dine in here yet, but still wonderful fresh food.only the spring rolls need help ;) My fave general’s chicken made w/just the right amount of peppers. Fresh, no soggy broccoli here! The stir fried veggie rice you ask? Loooaded w/fresh veggies & tasting awesome like only fried rice can. Thank you Mandarin once again for an excellent meal!

Always been a favorite. The family is wonderful and Mao is so friendly. I don't live in the area anymore but I always try to make it back when I visit. The sushi special is excellent!

Although Mandarin Court is primarily a Chinese restaurant, they have a very good sushi bar on premises. The quality of the seafood they use is particularly high, especially the crab. They also have some very good lunch specials Monday through Saturday, before 3 p.m.

I used to absolutely LOVE this place. Everything was always on point. The last couple of times i ordered delivery.i got red hot sauce with my dumplings. And this time i got an avicado salad. It was a half head of lettuce with two skinny pieces of avocado slices. If i were able to put a picture on here and show it i would.

Although this restaurant is primarily a Chinese restaurant, they have a very skillful sushi chef as well.if you come in before 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday, you can get two sushi rolls and a cup of soup for just under $10. They have some nice lunch specials as well.

The reason why I gave them a 1 star is because they got my order but I waited for an hour before I called them about my delivery. After calling them they told me my order was on the way. Still no order after 30 mins. Something needs to be done because there are times they get upset if you don't tip them well. Tips are considered how good or bad a service is.

One day I ordered from them (mind you we had ordered from them almost every other week) and we got what we always get and this time what we had ordered the food came overly cooked. The sweet and sour chicken was so over cooked it crumbled when you picked it up. So we called to ask if we could get a new one delivered to us. They said it would take 45 minutes to an hour to have it delivered to us, even though we live exactly one street over from them. So they suggested we come pick it up. So we went to get new sweet and sour chicken and this batch was worst then the first. So we called again and the person who picked up the phone yelled at me saying if we don’t like his food then don’t order from him anymore. I explained to him I order at least twice a month from them for the past few years and it’s not that we don’t like the food we just want a refund or a better batch or swap it with something else. Well he continued to yell at me so my husband brought the food to him to show him again how this batch was worst than the first and asked for a full refund. He then asked us to not come back, so their lost we now order from New HUNAN in Montclair and it’s amazing food and customer service!

I wasn’t going to write a review but my father in law said he was delivered food from them today. He did not order the food he thought maybe his wife ordered it for him so he took the food and put it in the fridge to eat later well a while later he gets a knock on the door and it was the delivery guy asking for the food back. My father in law said but it’s cold and in the fridge and I’ve already touched it all. The delivery guy still wanted it back. I guess they delivered the touched food to the rightful owner- disgusting! Once the food is in the hands of someone else it’s too late to get back

Quality of food is great however portion size for combination dishes, (lomeins, fried rice: chicken, beef, and pork, Mandarin gives FLakes of Meats). The amount of money we pay more should be offered like other local Chinese restaurants. Also, the female waitress is not nice.

Came here Christmas eve! Small quaint restaurant. Delicious food. We got the General Tso's chicken and it was spicier than Ive ever had before but it was good. We also order eggrolls, dumplings and crab rangoon. Everything was delicious

Mandarin Court has a nice variety of Asian dishes to choose from. If watching your diet is on your to do list, they can arrange your meal to fit your needs. Wheel chair accessible, nice dinning area for the whole family. Prices are not bad for the amount of food you receive.

I love the people here. Service is always amazing. The food is great and there's a large selection. This is a go to.

This restaurant is one of the best in DC area in term of food quality and price. The place is spacious and clean. It is not for the "first date", but it is enjoyable.

Their crispy beef, teriyaki chicken, and fish fillet dishes are awesome. The portion is ample.

My picky eater kids love their fried rice.

Many others stated that their sushi is great also, but I'm not fond to any sushi.

Best affordable Chinese place I've found in the area! So far I've had the shredded pork, twice cooked pork, shrimp toast and crab wontons. All were very good and big enough servings that I had enough for lunch for the next day. Haven't dined in, but the restaurant looks nice from what I've seen of it while picking up my food. Can't wait to try more of their menu, and the sushi too.

Just picked up our order and had dinner. The rating was good so we tried them for the first time. The shrimp toast was greasy. The teriyaki chicken bento box is actually a chicken skewer and it was cooked so hard. It was kind of tasty if it wasn’t dry and charred. The gravy for the egg foo young smelled weird. Oh well. Didn’t work for us tonight. Proceed at your own risk.

Food is good, service so so, they are very cheap, cheap in not a good way. If they mess up order don't compensate

I moved closer to the Dumfries area last year and tried them out for the first time two weeks into moving into my new house, and been hooked ever since! The food is delicious, the staff is very courteous, and the owner is very nice. I highly recommend them.

The food is great, we typically order to-go. Foods out fresh in 10 minutes. Most importantly, my wife has a gluten allergy and this is one of the few places that consistently makes her a safe meal (Beef and Broccoli) and has never made her sick. They even give her little packets of gluten free soy sauce.

The food is excellent! "BUT! " Delivery sucks! The drivers are unreasonably late. I'm going to order for delivery once more (4th time) to see if i need to add a star or drop a few! Love the sushi rolls

Regularly order from this restaurant. Very friendly staff, quick and efficient. The food is delicious, and they take care of their regular customers. I am writing this review because we got not only great food and service with this purchase, but a free roll of sushi as well. It is small things like this that’s show they go above and beyond to make sure their customers are taken care of.

Food was hot, great portions (Not skimping on the beef, shrimp, etc) and delicious.
Welcoming when you Enter. When seated, Service can seem brusque, but server warms up and was polite, quick and attentive.
Restaurant is well-kept, tidy & hygienic. Bathroom was also very clean.

Delivery was fast. Ordered sesame chicken & “pai tai. ” They have it misspelled on their menu online.

1) Took a lifetime just to order the items on their external website. Unable to check out as guest you HAVE to make an account or log onto other external source.

2) ordered the Pai Tai which is really pad thai. Missing an element to complete the umami experience. Every person who has eaten this knows it’s a balance and unity of flavors that marry harmoniously. This did not plus it was so dry. The combo was cheap, lots of little shrimp, but they don’t know how to make this properly.

3) the sesame chicken. Just plain sour. Sesame chicken is supposed to be crispy but soft, some broccoli I had half a broccoli, and just straight up sour. Missing the sweet element.

Def not ordering from them.

This food is not good. I’m confused about how they have so many good reviews! The crab sticks are the size of my pinky and so are the egg rolls.the shrimp fried rice isn’t fried rice.hmmm the spring rolls taste weird. Like some odd sauce is in it. The only good thing is supposed shrimp fried rice has a good amount of shrimp. The food came cold and not in proper containers. Fries came in a brown bag and crab sticks came in a bag. Y’all are trifling.

Just received a second delivery order where the order was wrong. If this persists, we will have to find a new go to place.
