Food is good here. Service has always been decent. We do takeout more so than eating at the restaurant. It’s usually not super busy if you’re looking to get a seat but we enjoy eating takeout.

The food is delicious, the atmosphere is not fancy but it is clean and the people are very nice and the prices are very reasonable. I wish I lived closer and had known about it sooner.

Mostly all the staff makes you feel unwelcome the moment you walk in, not one hello or smile. The food is very americanized but good prices. If staff was friendly it could be a better vibe.

Worst food i've ever had. Everything is made in advance so basically it's all leftovers. The green chili is nothing except for lard. Totally disgusting. Family business and the worst customer service I have seen anywhere. I can understand how they get any business at all.

Use to be much better the cook ruined the food by put to much Spice Paprika on food makes it bitter.

Was recommended to my boyfriend and I, and we both loved it! And loved the leftovers a couple days later!

We love lorenas. But we havent been for a while the food wasn't great and the service was awful. I honestly dont think we will be back again.

I was excited to get to eat here. My sister-in-law and family raved about it. I was very disappointed. Our server was the rudest! He actually told us to hurry up and order when he seated us, slammed the food down and pushed the check at us. Then he started vacuuming! It was not closing time.it was 8: 15! And my quesadilla was cold and subpar.

They don’t deserve one star every meal me and my girl order was salty. There was a waiter that had the most worst attitude. So I’m never dining here again.

HORRIBLE SERVICE
I had to wait 5 minutes by the door to be seated. These tall young lady (the server) kept giving me dirty looks she was also being very rude, food was super salty and when I was about to pay they messed up my order changing me $48 when I only spent $18.

This place is a state treasure. Never had a bad meal here. My friends from out of state may not know where I live, but they remember Lorena's. Yum.

It wasn't good I'm pretty sure it was microwaved. Taco Bell would of been better! Never going here again nothing but a waste of money

Costumer service was terrible the food was good but they took forever and the server didn’t take our order right we waited almost 30 mins and she forgot some of our food we had to wait another 20 mins for the missing plate of food the waitress forgot about us didn’t check to see if we needed anything didn’t check if we needed refills ignored our table but when I called her over she rolled her eyes and has an attitude I asked someone else to help us and she had to go tell our server because like I said she forgot about us they need to hire better waitresses it was better a few years ago it was a more family friendly

This has been one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Utah since I was a little kid.the food and service are still excellent.

Staying near by, I just wanted a quick bite.
Absolute worst quesadilla I've ever had.
Paid extra for ground beef.turns out it was more beans than beef and just a smidgen of melted cheese on top.
Nothing worth the cost.

We always love Lorena's, the staff is always friendly and the food is great! They're usually pretty fast to get your food, and it's always hot and delicious! I love the enchiladas personally the sauce is so yummy! My husband loves the smothered burrito so much he can't ever convince himself to try something else because he doesn't want to miss out on the chance to eat that!

I also love their pricing. Some people think it's dumb to not do refills on soda, but when it's only a dollar for a diet coke and you'll only drink two max I'd rather that then $3-4 like a normal restaurant. I used to think that only one free bowl of chips was dumb, but then I realized it's actually a really good amount, and then I don't over eat on chips and salsa like I do other places.

We have always loved Lorenas. We did take out last night and they have cut the portions of their Smothered Burritos in half. We also love the guacamole and chips, they were so watered down they did not stick to the chips. What is up with your quality?

Terrible customer service, server barely acknowledged our table and seemed annoyed by our being there.overheard a supervisor read a text containing sensitive medical information out loud to other employees and mock her.overall most of the staff seemed annoyed by every customer.food is good, staff is absolutely terrible.

Had a similar experience to Jimmy D below They do not even deserve one star. The food is absolutely disgusting and the service is the worst I've ever experienced. They made us pay in full for food we returned and had the audacity to ask for a tip. We will never go back! Gross, gross, gross!

Pretty authentic Mexican food. Tastes good, decent size portions. Not particularly the cleanest restaurant, so if that bothers you this probably isn't the best option. Price range is $8-$13 per person depending on what you get. Gratuity is forced onto your bill for parties of 5 or more.
I had the smothered burrito. Not as large as I would have liked, but tasted good. They have delicious homemade corn chips and salsa; the salsa is random as to how spicy it is, it's a gamble.

Great authentic Mexican food at a very reasonable price. Manny was our server and he was great at giving food suggestions, keeping up with our drinks, and overall just a great waiter. Highly recommend!

We love Lorena's and have been coming here for years. We found out today that it is standard procedure for a party of 5 or more.gratuity is automatically added to the bill WITHOUT being labeled as such. When we went to check out they asked if we would like to leave a "tip" knowing full well we had already been charged for one. Our normally $40 bill was $65 with a request for an additional tip.

They don't even deserve 1 star, maybe decade ago, they we're good, now they are horrible.went inside to dine, Wednesday night, not busy. Got our food, ugh! Gross! See pictures. I took two bites and yuck (smothered burrito with cheese). Husband got the "Mexican Steak", looked like a huge piece of beef jerky.
The manager this evening told me, "We don't give refunds or any type of discount here! " Wow! Really I said and she said, "Really, no matter what you think of our food, no matter how much you eat, you will pay in for it in full! "
I have never ever had this situation happen in my life ever! I even offered to pay for the chip's and dip. She said "NO, you will pay in full! "
Paid and left angry and hungry.
Never coming here again! They may want to change their policies and procedures, where the customer service comes first!

They get one star only because there's not an option for 0 Stars. We went there asked for non dairy creamer for coffees they brought the coffee anyway they brought chips that we didn't touch. So we were going to leave and they charged us for coffee and chips we didn't touch. Never go here!

There's Mexican places all over Utah like this place but some just do it better. Alot of these places are shifting towards cheaper crappier options but Lorena's stays the same. The salsa is still spicy and good where others cheap out and they still put a good amount of beans in your burrito instead of cheaping out. I just really have to hand it to them on not going cheap when all the other places that are similar just disappoint compared to the great Mexican I use to get. I highly recommend the bean and cheese burrito smothered with cheese and onions.

I have been coming here since I was a little boy, I get there smothered burritos with rice and beans every time. There smothered burritos are about the most glorious thing I have ever eatin. Be aware not everything on there menu is that amazing. There tacos are not that good. But if you know what to order there you will be amazed with there authentic Mexican food

Food was generic. Price and amount were good. HOWEVER the staff was awful to us. Our server was okay though he hardly spoke to us. And the lady at the front where we paid actually got mad at us for "not tipping enough" she was very rude and nearly yelled at my very nonconfrontational husband who just kept apologizing. It ruined our whole night and experience.

I’ve had lunch here dozens of times. The Friday lunch special “Bean and Cheese Smothered” is amazing. Comes with refried beans and Spanish rice. $8 with a drink is still the best value you can find.

Never after going there for 25 years of not being disappointed, the food sucked. We ordered the taco's and we're sickened by the look and taste of the meat. We have ordered the taco's before and the meat was ok. The meat did not look the same. So sorry to say we will not be going back ever.

Wow, I am shocked. What seemed like a homey, family style restaurant turned out to be a dinner disaster. The horchata and chips were reputable, I will give them that, however the rest of the experience was quite possibly one of my worst encounters with a restaurant. The salsa was no more than doctored up marinara sauce. Service was okay but water refills were neglected. I had a party of 4 and what should’ve been a $40 bill turned out to be $70. We were asked if we wanted our food smothered or if we wanted sour cream, but unbeknownst to us, what is often a complementary service required an extra payment. $2 for a squeeze packet of sour cream and $8 for a smothered burrito with onions on top and we were not told that it would be an extra charge. The people were kind, but unfortunately, our experience was unacceptable. When our party returned home, my brother who had eaten most of the questionable food, uncontrollably vomited. I do not recommend this eatery, there are plenty of other Mexican restaurants in the area.

The food is always great, I go here frequently. The staff can be incredibly impatient and quite rude. I've been here dozens of times and only a couple times have been pleasant with staff. Food I'd give 4 stars, but with the bad service I can only give 2.

Horrible service and the food was not very good at all. I got the nacho appetizer and a smothered burrito which were both very disappointing. The cheese on the nachos were hard and dry and the smothered burrito just tasted like gelatinous soup with a soggy tortilla. The beans in it were super runny and chalked full of salt too.
Will not be coming here again. I recommend to go somewhere else if you want good Mexican food.

It's an established restaurant that has been in the area for a very long time. Service was mediocre. Friendly but not Friendly. The food was just ok. Family-run atmosphere, which is good.

I have yet to locate a "GOOD" Mexican restaurant outside of Southern California.except for 'Peppers Cantina' in Saint George.

The restaurant feels a bit run down, but is kept clean and employees provide good service. The menu is well done with plenty of great dishes to choose. Prices are moderate and the location is great, right next to I-15.

Some of the women that work here have a near-psychotic obsession with masks in a county that doesn’t require them. Its very off putting to normal people. This is May of 2021 when most people have been vaccinated.

In no way can you mistake the food as authentic. I do appreciate the staff who were friendly and helpful. But I have a sneaking suspicion that the food may have been prepackaged, canned, and potentially even microwaved. 3 stars because maybe we want on an off day

Friendly, attentive staff but, unfortunately, the food is awful. Our meal was bland and clearly made with canned ingredients. Unless their recipes get a complete overhaul, I absolutley would NOT go there again.

This place is pretty standard and bland as far as Mexican food goes. They are overcrowded and do not observe the COVID-19 safety regulations imposed in most Utah cities.it was overcrowded no social distancing and I did not see patrons wearing masks although the staff was wearing masks

I was skeptical from reading all the bad reviews about rude service and mediocre food but my husband still wanted to try it. The parking lot was pretty full but we were seated immediately. They used every other booth and the employees all wore masks the whole time. They brought us chips, salsa, and water immediately. Our waitress was very nice and took our order in a timely manner and the food came out quick. It was really really good and big portions with very reasonable prices. Their chili rellenos were better than I've had at any of the other Mexican restaurants around. I gave Lorena's 5 stars for great food, good service, and the food came out quickly. We will definitely be going back.

Lorena's has been my favorite Mexican Restaurant for years. It's the most authentic Mexican food around, and is the gold standard by which I judge all other "Mexican restaurants".

I recommend it to everyone who wants great food!

Portion sizes are extreme! You'll be taking it home in a take home box or be prepared to share your meal. Prices are great for the amount of food you get. The rice is by far my favorite! Service was great. Rating it 4/5 stars because my boyfriend thought it was quantity over quality. Not as authentic as some other Mexican restaurants. Chips & salsa were good, but salsa was a little spicy.

A great family-owned restaurant that takes pride in its food. They have excellent chips and salsa. It's my wife's favorite. Both of our favorite dishes are the smothered burrito with cheese, onion, rice, and beans. It has a small amount of heat that brings it all together. Recently we've been ordering take out and the meal is usually ready within 20-30 minutes.

I ordered one smothered burrito rice and beans. It was more like a smothered tortilla and I got charged way to much. Even though I complained they did nothing to resolve the problem. On a positive the flavor is always good.

We ordered takeout, the food was divine! We especially enjoyed their salsa and chips. The order was ready either on time or a little before, which was very nice. The employees weren't super friendly, just really short in the way that they would respond to questions or ask us questions, just kind of like they didn't have the time of day (which, who knows, maybe they didn't). No matter, we will still go back when we're craving their salsa or cheese enchiladas.

For all the hype from friends, we were honestly a little let down. Nothing made the food stand out about other Mexican restaurants that we love. I’ll find myself at La Puente before going back. Oh, did I mention the wait was extensive?

Used to be one of the Great Mexican restaurants around but they have continued to decline in the quantity and quality of food while at the same time raising prices often. Still like the food a lot, just not the value! They could also use an update on their interior design it has stayed the same for way too long!

The only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of one is the food actually wasn't all that bad, but everything else was. The greeter was rude, the hostess didn't even bother to greet us but instead said "sanitize your hands before coming in the dining area. " Our waitress was okay, but after dropping off our food we didn't see her again until she brought us our check.

The worst was some manager. I was looking for the restroom and I almost walked into the kitchen. As I turn around I hear a voice ask what I'm looking for. I turn around and in an office is a lady talking on the phone. I said I was looking for the restroom. She stood up, pointed to them then slammed the door in my face.

After we ate and were going to the front to pay and my child tripped and fell, no big deal, he does it often, but the greeter/cashier who apparently was too busy to stop for a second, stepped over my child like he was some sort annoying obstacle.

I've had some bad experiences at places before, but I've never had so much go wrong all at once. Even though the good was okay, and I stress.okay, it isn't worth going back for.
