Winnie’s Bar

This is the best karaoke bar in New York City and it’s not even close. The bartenders are the best the music choices endless. This is my favorite bar of all of New York City. The vibes are always great. I’ve had so many wonderful memories here! This place truly is very special to my heart. Love it!

This isn’t actually a review I just left my jacket there tonight and nobody’s picking up the phone. Voicemail isn’t set up either so. It’s cranberry red hoodie material with a folded collar and fuzzy lining. Cropped. Let me know if you guys have it— it’s not a flattering coat in shape but I do love the little thing a lot.

I feel bad leaving this review on a chinatown bar as a chinese person but i work in the service industry so i also fully know how customer service and tipping works.sadly i had experience with a rude bartender last month (i was warned before even coming the bartenders could be rude by a friend who lives around the corner) so i took a photo of my receipt where i wrote very clearly my tip + total before i left.i recently checked my credit card and they charged me extra on the tip.extremely sketchy and unprofessional

This place is so fun to come with friends and sing but the bartenders here are so rude. The guy bartender literally needs to get fired, i’ve never met someone so rude. I hate him.

Honestly, I came here because of all the reviews about the bartender/karaoke mgr and he did not disappoint, lol. He was FANTASTIC! His "attitude" was actually a part of the charm and matched the dive bar aesthetics. My cousins and I called him "The Legend. "

He's totally himself. If you act annoying he'll check you. And if you come in good spirit, he'll dap you up. That authentic behavior made the whole bar feel like a large group of old friends turning up! Too real, lol.

Plus he and the security guy (we called him Bruce Lee, cause he had a Bruce Lee shirt on) can SANG and they didn't mind lending us background vocals. I mean they can SANG!

We got there around 9p when it just opened and watched the spot fill up pretty quickly. So I'd suggest coming in early if you want to vibe with The Legend and Bruce Lee. Let The Legend run the show and do his thing (have fun with it.smile and don't argue. This ain't Chik Fil A). And you'll have a good night.

Haven't been to the new location yet, but Winnie's was one of my favorite places to go in NYC ever, I seriously feel like I have a reason to live again finding out they still exist.

Not the best place I live 5 block down from the bar and hear music and beats until 4am they should close down or close early

Bartender was so rude and made us feel like he was doing us a favor serving us, we waited for over an hour for our song and were not given microphones when our song went on. Someone else sang it. They won’t give you microphones, it’s basically on you to go and search through the crowd who has the mic. Like really, shouldn’t it be the staff’s priority to make sure guests get a chance to sing their songs at a karaoke bar? Bartenders continuously give you an attitude for asking when your song is going to go on, like they are bothered by you. At the end of the day we were charged for 5 songs that we ordered and only got a chance to sing one of them. Also, the sound system is so weak that the crowd easily overpowers it. Basically ruined our night.

Love Winnie’s bar, as an East Asian I love karaoke bars and this one is a great one to go to. One of the only places open late night in Chinatown and the vibes are amazing, bring all your friends and have a great time, the outdoor area is a fun way to cool off.

We used to LOVE going to winnie’s, but there is a bartender now that was SO RUDE. Like rolling eyes at our orders, making fun out of people singing, asking for tips on the mic - really made such a great place feel excludent and with weird vibes. Where is the Brazilian bartender? Not coming back, no way we’ll be going to a place to be mistreated.

A great place to sing any song you’d like and enjoy good laughs. NYU has taken over though and we don’t like it. Love the staff love the smokers den hate the kids. 4/5

Pretty much the old faithful for karaoke. You can get a bad crowd… but hey, get a couple beers deep and get on mic, you’ll forget about it. Tip them well.

Open karaoke people can sing along and dance. Bartenders really nice and friendly. I would definitely recommend friends and family here.

A New York City staple on par with Katz or the Pyramid. New York City owned and uniquely a place only to be found in this city. Hosting the most eclectic clientele and NYC sensibilities. A fixture of my childhood, visit em and sing your heart out.

Place had a fun crowd but I think I rubbed the bar tender the wrong way. I was there early and it took forever for me to go on plenty of time after people who got there after me. Also when I did go on you could hardly hear me in the mic. Not sure what happened.

Really great neighborhood bar that has friendly and welcoming vibes. I don’t usually like to karaoke but I felt so comfortable here that I sang multiple songs. Bartenders were really fun and sang a few songs with us. Bring cash for the songs! But they do have an atm if you forget.

Very affordable, but I will not go back. Waitingq over an hour to hear a song and then it was cut off mid way. A group kept singing over everyone.

Drinks were subpar but the karaoke was okay. Interesting crowd. Definitely not a trendy go to place but with the right group of friends you can have fun.

Wow, so lucky to have stumbled across this place. Hidden between two non-descript looking businesses and ducked away on the second floor. Walk in, buy a beer, sign your name on the list to sing something, and enjoy the night (in that order). Around midnight, the bbq was ready to be served. The crowd and the bartenders were fun; we're going back.

I came here the other night with my boyfriend and we waited 30 minutes for a drink, and we were one of the few people there. One of the bartenders was going around bussing tables which is totally fine. I am a bartender working at an understaffed NYC bar too so I get it. But the lack of acknowledgement was very frustrating. We left with nothing.

If there's a song you want, they're almost guaranteed to have it. Fun staff, good times.

Had my going away party here this past weekend and it was a blast! We were able to reserve the back patio for our group privately. Teddy and the team and Winnie’s were very accommodating the entire night. Guests were able to have separate tabs open, and could either go to the bar and order drinks or have table service. We had karaoke indoors for anyone who wanted to sing and a great space outside just to hangout. Definitely recommend checking out Winnie’s if you’re in the area! Great neighborhood vibes and quality hospitality.
