Couldn't believe this business has 4 stars. Won't fill up jetskis, never had a good experience in my 15 years of boating. Beyond rude owner.

I have used wardells on several occasions but after the last time when I met the owner I will never again go here and I will always strongly advise anyone to avoid this company. I pulled up to the gas dock to refuel my boat and when I asked for gas the owner started screaming at me to move my boat to the other side of the dock. (Less then 2 minutes later another boat came to the exact place I was parked and he said nothing). He was very rude to me for the entire time I was refueling, then when I asked for a recipe because I was being paid back for the fuel I was using at the time he began to yell at me again saying that I didn't buy enough fuel to need a recipe and how I'm wasting his time etc. Then when I looked at the recipe he had marked it for significantly less than I had paid him.

Gas attendant was great. Pulled in for fuel. Helped us in and out. Was easy even though the channel was very busy.

We had a totally awesome experience with Wardell's!
We had to drop our sailboat mast to transit the Erie Canal. He had cradles left behind that you can use for free.
He was so good to work with. He explained the process along the way and never rushed us. He even cracked some jokes. Ben, his right hand guy, was also very helpful and knowlegable. Somewhere along the line they have gotten a bad rap. I saw nothing that would prove this. I would use him again in a heartbeat.

Owner is super rude unless you’re paying him 400 to watch you take your mast down or filling up several hundred dollars in gas. Can’t wait for someone else to take over

Easy to pull in and get diesel coming off the canal. Price seemed reasonable and I even got a free koozie!

This a real boat yard. Not too fancy. Clean restrooms, no shower. There is plenty of docking on the wall on the South side of the river but no power. Plenty of stores and restauaunt within short walking distance. It might not seem so but Everything is.as organized as it can be for this sort of business. I left a ladder out and somone soon came to put it away. Denny the owner was friendly and helpful and got to unstepping my mast on the second day. It is best if you are not in a rush. But then the Erie Canal is no place to be when you are in a rush. I called ahead to let them know I was coming. I found lots of wood and structures from boats that previous came from the other direction. If you are traveling the Erie canal and need to step or unstep your mast in Tonawanda or Buffalo Wardel's is definitely the place.

$400 to step a mast and you have to do all the work yourself. All he does is operate the crane.

Denis is always fabulous - makes sure there is room and helps us pull in. There are folks that say otherwise, but they haven't gotten to know him. He is kind to our children and very knowledgeable. We love wardells.
