ViaPort Rotterdam

Movie theatre was nice. Food was good at the food court. Very few people though, and the mall is obviously struggling with attendance.

This mall is very quiet. There are not a lot of stores. There's an arcade spot called Via Entertainment. Foot Locker is closed due to the pandemic.

The kids had fun but it seemed disorganized the show was at the front and if you wanted to see it you had to go all the way though and the reptile animals were kool but they were right on top on one another at the end they were lined up and spaced out

The Via Aquarium was a great experience. Along with a huge amount of different types of aquatic's on display, 2 tunnels of aquatic's swimming next and above you. Nicely done.

Mall it slowly but surely coming back to life with Paul Mitchell Hair Salon a good food court good pizza aquarium exhibit exhibit is very good dinosaur exhibit very good for the young kids

Awesome place for kids. We did the combo price with VIA Aquarium. We had a group of 9 family members. Our favorite was the sting-ray interaction where we got to actually touch them. Very educational!

Great Memorial to our Veterans, a fine ceremony, the mall seems to be coming back to life with space and time spent on our Vets.

The aquarium has a lot going for it considering it's location. Obviously there are bigger and better ones. This was great fun for us and the kids that wasn't a far drive. And they have a walk through tank with small sharks. First aquarium I've been too that has a walk through tank.

The mall is still nice. My family and I was there for the carnival which was amazing. It's great seeing people out having fun with there families.

We went to the aquarium which from the pictures looked a lot bigger and more exciting then it was when we got there. It was very dark and gloomy, nothing too exciting besides the baby sharks and the sting ray. But it was like a 5 min walk through. It is located inside of a mall which makes sense why it's so small but it wasnt spectacular. Decent price and my 2 year old was free so I'm not complaining.

They have a cardinal going on from 6/10-6/20. I took my daughter as part of her graduation gift. We had fun and it was nice. The staff was amazing and nice. The only complaint was all the games were $5 to play, the advertising was $20 for unlimited bracelet and when we got there it was $25.

Attended the little fair they had behind the mall.long story short me and the kids loved it. We left with lots of prizes

Went to the aquarium here, I was pleasantly surprised. It's actually really cool. My family and I really enjoyed ourselves and everyone was really about following social distances. Note to anyone who cares, I guess Saturdays are the busy days.

I met a coworker on the parking lot to pick up girl scout cookies, and was slightly afraid the whole time and I downhill mountainbike and have skydive, so I didnt go in. I heard their are zombies roaming in what used to be sears.

Hello! I am rewriting this review in regards to your mall and ways ou can improve.

You need more nation chains, aeropostale, and hotopic would be great to have.

More in the the foodcourt but national food chains

Have anchoring stores like rural king, and Dunham's sports.

Fun times went to the dino area have been to the aquarium but line was too long this time. The kids loved it last time. Will try to visit again soon

Need to attract more business to this location possibly a indoor soccer field or a reduced rate of rent for anyone willing to gamble on a business in this location

Nice outing for a toddler. Not too overwhelming. Otherwise I wouldn't recommend it. Seems overpriced for a maybe 20 minute walk through in a pretty run down mall.

My favorite part was the treasure spree and aquarium. And it was my first time going to the Rotterdam mall. I loved it.

No anchor store or nationally recognized retailers remain. Definitely a mall on its last legs. Out of the way location

Went and saw the dino exhibit. Not a lot of dinosaurs, but for the price ($10) it's pretty good. Due to COVID the interactive dig site for children are closed. Some of the dinos move. Masks are required, so is social distancing but some people don't know the meaning of 6 feet. Small gift shop at the end. Mostly stuffed animals and toys. Not too badly priced. A regular sized stuffed dino is about $20. Smaller ones are, I think, about $10. I liked it. Definitely recommend.

The aquarium is a great place to go for something different. It's not sea world.but it's still full of really cool and interesting things for kids and adults. Definatly worth the trip

Went to see the dino exhibit, saw signs at the aquarium, got in line went up to pay, 66$, assumed the dinos were at end of aquarium. Got to gift store not finding dinos. I expressed my disappointment and was told I was the forth person today who assumed the same. The dinos were at the other end of the mall. So 100$ day. They could have been more descriptive it was a separate event at a separate location. So beware.

There is plenty of close parking unlike Crossgates.
Now that I know how to get there I want to plan a day trip to the Aquarium.

My family has gone here a couple times and were had a great time.
I went with my mom and dad and we did the go karts and my and my dad got some of the best times ever. And this year for my 12th birthday party and we will be doing laser tag, go karts, and escape room.

I will say when writing this review I am 100% biased based on my own personal nostalgia. This mall holds a special place in my heart before it was even called VIAPORT Rotterdam and still called the Rotterdam Square Mall. As I child I remember going to this mall all the time with my parents before moving to Florida and spending time in the theater and shopping around the various stores.
During my visit just before COVID-19 hit the state, I was impressed by the improvements to modernize the mall (of course taking note the lack of people because of the impending pandemic), and how well maintained it is in the post-online shopping age. For anyone visiting this part of New York, I totally recommend coming here to hang out. You might just make some memories like I did.

Sadly, the only store remaining here at the mall is Bath and Body works. All other stores are out of business, ghost town.

The aquarium was great, the rest of the place was a ghost town. So sad to see most of the building empty. Wish the aquarium was bigger though!

The aquarium was nice. Kids had fun. The arcade was a little run-down and there's a little disappointed in that. Over all was a fun outting.

Mall is dead. All the good stores are gone. Well basically all the stores are gone period. Only things left are like FYE, the movie theatre, 2 restaurants in the food court, and the shoe store. And of course the via port arcade thing and the aquarium. I havent been in the aquarium but my sister went and said it was small.

Mall is dying. They lost 4 stores in the September October November months of 2019 alone, soon it will be sold again, I'd recommend colonie center Mall or crossgates

Really wish this place would become alive again. With this mall down to the bare stores, it's a 20 minute plus drive to shop some place else

The ViaPort Rotterdam is an attempt at revamping the aging Rotterdam Square Mall to something more current, just like what happened to Colonie Center in 2007. Unlike Colonie Center though.it didn't change too much, and the inside stores still seem exactly like what you'd find at a mall ca. 2000.

With Latham Circle Mall gone for a while now, the ViaPort is one of the few malls left where you can get that good 80s-90s dying mall feel. I don't mean this as an insult to any of the tenants, and I would gladly kill a few hours there - the food court still has a good amount of options, the movie theater is solid, and the off-brand Dave & Busters is fun.

Unlike Crossgates or Colonie Center, you can walk around and not feel too crowded, and there is a lot of charm to the low-key shops here. If those other two malls are Manhattan, then the ViaPort is Upstate NY by comparison, and there's a lot to love about that.

A failing mall that can't keep a store open. 1/3 of the mall has been converted into state office space. The theatre is fantastic though because it's always empty.

Mall has a lot of good potential I’ll be back a couple times to see of there is any improvement but right now it is a quiet mall, but don’t get me wrong I thought it was pretty cool but it lacks stores but that’s probably because there is very little customers and I feel like it has very little customers because of the lack of stores, also when we went there they had all these cool cars unfortunately we didn’t know about it before hand it was just a happy accident but if I knew there would be a classic car show I would have gone to see them on purpose, but that seems like a lack in the promotional department so maybe something that cool might need a little more promotion behind it. If however this mall improves which I hope it does I will be changing my review.

Hair salon has horrible mens haircuts everytime.went today and there was a note on desk saying stepped out, be back soon and call this # for service, I called and they said we'd be back in 25 minutes, 50 minutes later I left. Never again.
