Ventosa Vineyards

Very nice staff but tipping seemed odd when I served myself. The food was all heated by microwave as we heard the “ding”. For a Tuscan winery you would think something would be fresh. It all would have been fine as I realize we are in NY not Italy but the price demands that you do better! $80 for one sandwich, one bowl of soup and two glasses of NY wine plus a tasting. We were disappointed! The view is nice.

Thanks for responding, but I had no option to tip after “all of this service” as I had to tip as I ordered and paid at the counter. I could not tip after eating this food. Yes, inflation has troubled us all but it shouldn’t affect quality. I eat out often and the prices charged could have bought me steak dinners for both of us with drinks.

Extremely unaccommodating. Visited in November during the off season. Several open tables and not busy at all. They said they could not accommodate a group of 8 so we said we would split into 2 groups of 4. Still said no. Very disappointing! They basically told us to leave and lost out on many sales. 6 people in the parking lot overheard and told us we didn't miss anything because the wine was not good. Save your time and money!

Wines were just okay. We ate at the Cafe. Food was mediocre.more like cafeteria food but pricey for what you get. Many better options in the Finger Lakes.

Went here for lunch and was ultimately rather disappointed. The vineyard itself is gorgeous and has an incredible view of the lake, however our experience here was not the best. To begin, the way you order food here is very confusing, as other reviewers have mentioned. You take a menu and mark it up with an expo marker and circle what you want. But when we get to the counter to order, they just asked us what we wanted, and never looked at the menus that we had circled and wrote what we wanted. So that was odd, not sure why they have that policy. Once you order, they’re supposed to bring the food to you. However we sat and watched our food sit under a heat lamp for 20 minutes before an employee brought our food to us. It got to the point that I thought we were actually supposed to grab it ourselves and I almost went up to the counter to grab our food. Several employees walked by our food, and it wasn’t until the whole waiting area under the heat lamp got full with other people’s orders that they finally brought our food over to us. So that was rather annoying. Once we got our food, it was a bit cold. I got the turkey panino and it was ok. Not bad, but not great either. Might have been better if it didn’t sit under a heat lamp for 20 minutes. I also got a glass of wine, and that was rather good, so I think if you go here for just wine tasting, you might have better luck. Overall, not super impressed.

Be aware they close at 6pm sharp and if it is 5 pm they are already closed mentally. Mediocre wine and very curt staff. Won’t be back

If only 0 stars were possible. I went with my girlfriends family who all ordered wine successfully but when I went up to order I was harassed. My girlfriend and I went to the bar to order and I stood there for a while but was ignored so my gf said "excuse me" which got their attention. They carded my gf and I which was understandable and wanted to scan her card because it is still vertical. Mine however is horizontal and was even wearing my hospital badge that says I'm over 21. She then called her supervisor over and walked us away to scan my gfs license. Again, understandable. They then scanned mine because "I was there so why not and we don't want anything suspicious going on. " They took our photos and stamped our hands. We went back to the bar but again I was ignored until my gf spoke up. We stood there while others went around us and ordered successfully. I kept trying to get their attention. I finally raised my voice and said "fine I guess I won't be buying anything here" and the bartender said "that's good" and looked me right in the eyes. I'd like to mention that my gf and her family are white and I am not. Whenever she or they asked for service someone responded, but when I did I was ignored or they took orders from someone standing behind me. Whether it was specifically due to the color of my skin is left to speculation but I was unable to get service.

HAVE your wedding here and look no further! The grounds are fabulous and the view and accommodations are perfect. This venue is totally set up for your day. Food was fabulous.we had a bruschetta bar, bacon wrapped dates.for dinner we had a cod or prime rib and people raved about the food. The bar was perfect, full glasses of wine for your guests.
I was the bride, and Phyllis was basically my personal attendant, making sure I had a drink/ hot food/ golf cart ride to sunset photos. Deb and RJ are the event coordinators and they will touch base with you, see what you need and handle any special requests. This was a destination wedding (we are from florida) and there was no regrets. RJ made sure all of my food and drink requests were handled and Deb made sure my entire dream wedding was a success.

If you're looking for a quasi self service establishment with servers who look miserable and angry, this is the place for you. When our food was delivered to our table, that was the last we saw of our server. Several other servers walked by, but they looked downright hostile and angry (not our server). It's pricey for the portions and the fact that you have to stand in line to order, then stand in line for your drink, then hope your meal is because no one's going to ask.

If I could give 0 stars I would. They yelled at my daughter for touching the wall as soon as we walked in. We did NOT feel welcome. We have spent all day with our daughters at wineries and no one has treated us this poorly. The parking lot was empty and you have to wonder why. We just wanted pizza and good company. Never again.

*added after response from owner, if you don’t want something at your entrance to be noticed and touched, then put a sign to not touch. I appreciate the owner taking responsibility for the staffs attitude towards us, and I really appreciate the apology! Not.

Initially thought it was going to be good but there was no direction during the wine tour and we didn't stay because of the wine server because of her attitude! Was looking forward to trying a new place

We got married here and we can’t say enough positive things about Ventosa. They are such a high quality venue for such reasonable prices. The staff is incredible, the views are breathtaking, and the food is delicious. The vibe of their ballroom inside is so warm and the space fit our family very well (you could have as little as 80 people and as much as a few hundred and still be comfortable in that room). The terrace is so nice for people wanting to enjoy a nice evening or take a break from dancing. The dance floor is huge, which was perfect for our family!

RJ and Kelcie were both so professional, attentive, and easy to contact throughout the whole wedding process, especially throughout postponing for two years. During the actual ceremony and reception, every worker we interacted with was so nice and on top of everything. They basically thought of everything before we even had to ask. They are flexible budget wise and they helped us put together and set up all of our decorations the day of (and helped us to store things until we could pick them up the morning after). They can also basically accommodate almost any request and would offer suggestions, recommendations, etc.when we asked for help. We would recommend Ventosa to anyone getting married.

Very nice winery that offers dry to semi sweet varieties. They are known for their reds, but we found their whites to be equally enjoyable. Tastings were done very professionally, and we each found several wines we enjoyed. Live music was relaxing, and the patio looks like it would be great in the warmer months! If you're in the area, swing by! You won't be disappointed!

This is my second time visiting and first time post-COVID and I had a fabulous time. The wines are delicious and Carol was fabulous. She gave us all of the information on the wine and great suggestions.

Ventosa was a beautiful experience. Not only was the ambience amazing but the staff were so kind and friendly. The view of seneca lake is gorgeous and you cant beat the price of wine tasting $10. My favorite is the 2020 semi-dry riesling, it is absolutely delicious!

This place is beautiful, the wine is wonderful, and the staff were so kind. I came with two friends for a girls trip and we were served quickly and given wonderful recommendations. Plus the view is beyond gorgeous!

This is our first trip to the Finger Lakes & our group isn’t huge wine drinkers so finding a winery with a kitchen was important for us. We were so excited when we found Ventosa. Great service, wine & food. Highly recommend!

Until we went to Ventosa we were kind of disappointed in the fingerlakes wines. We found the wines to be tart.everything we tried. Ventosa has excellent dry reds and even though we're not white wine drinkers we liked the dry Riesling and the Tocai Friulano. We liked everything we tried. Lorraine helped with our tastings and she is very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the wines here. She even told us what each wine put her in the mood for. It was more an experience than a tasting. There are a lot of reviews about the pizza and my comment. If I could make the perfect pizza.this would be it. High quality cheese and the pepperoni was spectacular.

I cannot say enough about this place. Our day was everything I ever hoped it would be. The views are incredible, the food is AMAZING, and the staff is so friendly and accommodating. RJ was so helpful throughout the whole wedding planning, and on our day, Kelcie was amazing. This staff works so hard and truly cares. I 100% recommend this venue to anyone getting married! ️

Loved Ventosa! The server who helped us with our tasting (Thomas) was great! He was spot on with his descriptions and the pours were extremely generous! All the wine was delicious, I tried the silver and oak chardonnays, as well as the dry resiling, 2018 Cabernet Franc, and 2017 Sangiovese. My favorite was the Sangiovese, but they were all fantastic. Definitely worth the visit, I highly recommend!

We had high hopes for this winery. The scenery and wines are quite good, but our experience with the customer service and food was disappointing. The front desk staff was not very welcoming. Service was “self serve” which is fine we have done at other places, however, the level of service and guidance from staff was non-existent. No water was offered, we had to ask our neighboring table for their table # (to order food) and took some napkins since we didn’t get offered any. We also saw a staff member throwing old water and ice cubes off the balcony beside us. It would also have been nice for the staff to explain the wines while pouring them. We also felt the menu was lacklustre in terms of portion size and value for money - ex. The salad was mostly spinach and didn’t have much of the other ingredients (strawberries, blue cheese), charcuterie was very small.

Unfortunately we wouldn’t go back for lunch again, but maybe the wine shop for some bottles to take home.

Went to a wedding here and the event was fantastic. Venue was very accommodating and courteous, not to mention beautiful. The view of the lake from the main building is amazing and the vineyard grounds are spectacular. Highly recommend.

Ventosa has a gorgeous view of Seneca lake to offer with lovely and welcoming staff. The perfect vineyard to relax and enjoy on any day of the week. We came here on a Tuesday to celebrate my friends 21st birthday and everything from the ambience to the fellow patrons helped make the day special. 10/10 recommend. Enjoy!

I had a great experience at Ventosa! I did the tasting with Thomas and he was very knowledgeable about all the wines. Everything tasted great, especially the Silver Chardonnay! I would definitely recommend this winery to others.

Lorraine is terrific. She is so personable and spends time talking to you while explaining the wine sampling. She went out of her way to get us a menu for dinner and get us a beautiful seat to watch the sunset. She made our trip so enjoyable and the food and wine were wonderful!

Great place with a beautiful view.

The bistro needs serious help, a man was running around yelling directions to the staff. My friend and I were sharing a pizza and salad, the staff brought the food to our table, we had to ask for 2 plates, when they brought that we had to ask for utensils. I understand that help is hard to find, but at least train them if they've never worked in the field.

The staff pouring didn't tell you anything about the wines that you're tasting. I'd also like to know the amount of sulfites used in thier wines, I did a tasting, had 1 glass of wine with lunch and had the worst headache ever. The next day my head is still hurting.

Went there during graduation last year, and honestly one of the best experiences I've had in the finger lakes area! The wines are brilliant, the views are gorgeous down in the outside seating, and the food is great. Will definitely come back again!

We visited several wineries in the Finger Lakes area and had high hopes for this winery. Friends had recommended this place, and it looked lovely from the road. Sadly we were disappointed. When we arrived we were told they were very short staffed and service would be slow. That is an unfortunately reality, but none of the other wineries we visited in the area said that to its customers. We were also informed we had to stand at the bar for a wine tasting. Again, due to lack of personnel. We decided we would sit on the patio (mistake; it was hot), and order food instead of the wine tasting we were hoping for, and some of the menu items were unavailable. Just generally a lack-luster and poor experience for the region.

The only reason I give 1 star is for the scenery, the service was terrible, we ordered 2 pizzas, one of them wasn't even being cooked and the other was under the heat lamp for probably a half-hour, and not one single person brought it out to " table 38" that was Sunday, May 8 around 2pm, very disappointing. Plus the pizza that was in the oven, wasn't even done when we asked for our money back, also we had to eat with our hands, because no body gave us utensils.
