Both my sister and I shop at ulta-her being an employee of a neighboring store finds her there more often than myself. Nevertheless, we have both had very pleasant experiences at this particular location. So much so, that we have built friendly rapports with several of the employees, Katie, Coco, and Sara just to name a few. Usually we are greeted and asked if there’s anything we can find, other than that we are usually left to shop and explore. There are usually employees in various aisles stocking or doing whatever the day requires of them but they are always so friendly. I have been to a few ultas but the Schenectady location is by far my favorite. And my sisters as well!

I love the products the company has to offer, however the customer service is definitely lacking. On several occasions I stopped into this specific store for hair/skin care and every time I have been followed. It's either I am followed whenever I go in the store or I have an associate in the same aisle as me acting like they are either stocking (with one or two items) or face fronting products. Now I understand my specific products is in the back of the store but I've noticed the teenagers are not followed at all while I am shopping. Not to say they're going to steal but I'm in my late thirties and everytime I am made to feel uncomfortable. Now I reached out to corporate about the issue and it was forwarded to the "Experience manager" for this location. She acted as though she called me but there was absolutely no follow up although I was informed there will be. The only interaction that was positive was with a male manager from a year ago. He understood the products I needed and offered some product knowledge. Word of mouth goes a long way and this store isn't it.

It’s not easy to find a hair stylist, but somehow, Eme made it super easy! I was able to book an appointment online. She called me to confirm. I went in for my appointment, showed Eme the cut I wanted and asked her to make me a strawberry blonde. She did a fantastic job! I love my cut, and she fixed the lousy balayage job my previous stylist did. I am locking her in as my permanent stylist. Thank you Eme <3 Ulta is lucky to have you!

Was here to pick up a curbside order a few days ago (3/6) and that went smoothly, but I also went into the store to ask if a particular item was in stock and the associate at the front registers was very unhelpful. Was told that "maybe the item was in the clearance section" and I went to go see if I could find it but did not have any luck. When I came back to ask the associate if they could possibly look up the item for me they were just standing on their phone and then walked right past me into the back of the building. I waited about 10-15 minutes to see if they would come back (thought maybe they went to look for the item in the back) but they did not and only one other person was helping the line of customers at the front registers so I just ended up leaving. Felt very ignored by this one employee and I will now be doing all my business with the Colonie Ulta location - much better service and associates are always willing to help you out there.

Store wasn’t open on time me and a few other women we’re waiting almost 5 minutes past 10 AM. They never offer gifts with purchases or samples even after spending a lot of money! Customer service is lacking here, as the front cashier isnt the friendliest

I came in to Ulta to get something I have been using for a while. When I was looking around, one of your employees, Eileen I believe her name was, came over and asked if I needed any help. She proceeded to help me for probably an hour or more! She took so much time trying to find me the perfect shade foundation. I also told her I didn't have a lot of money to spend and that I knew literally nothing about skin care. She helped me find products that would work for my skin and my budget and she explained why and how the products worked for my skin type. I was very impressed with the help I received. The last time I asked someone for help there, the woman told me I needed to mix shades of foundation to match my skin tone and she walked away. I'm glad I asked for help again yesterday and got someone who cares. I definitely recommend seeing Eileen! She was so helpful and knowledgeable!

Had my makeup done there yesterday and loved it! The makeup artist was great and worked fast when I didn’t even have a full hour to get it done. Was very happy with how it turned out and will definitely be back!

I've been in and out of my local Ulta a few times now and Vincent has helped me each time in product selection and general tips and care for my hair and my specific concerns-not only is he incredibly knowledgeable and a true expert in his field, he has been so warm and compassionate towards me and my hair struggles which has been so welcomed and comforting! He also assisted in the process of scheduling me with Sandra and providing input for color formulation and treatments to create the most healthy hair and the color I am working towards!

Sandra was so friendly, sweet and passionate about her work and took so much time and care with my hair! She also gave me a beautiful blowout!

The girl that cashed me out had an attitude. I had a few gift cards (the ones that you can use at different stores that are like credit cards) and she said I could only use two forms of credit per transaction? I was literally there probably two months ago and had no issue using multiple credit payments. Then she told me I had to call and activate the cards and that she would hold my items if I wanted to step away to call. I told her I never had to do that before and she says “oh really? ” with this annoyed snotty look on her face because I caught her bluff. After I did my two credit payments she said cash or check for the remaining balance. I thought I had enough cash on me but didn’t and I didn’t have a check so I had to purchase a gift card to pay the remaining balance. I’ve never had this issue before at this location or any other Ulta so i don’t know what the deal was with the attitude. Will be purchasing online or using a different location from now on. Maybe some customer service training would be of use to the employees at this location.
