Top of the World Golf Resort

Only played golf, did not stay in resort. Three of us played, all single digit handicaps. Course beat us up. Very sloped greens. Right fairways. Hard to find a level lie. The only "easy" holes are the ones closest to the clubhouse. Had fun was very humbling. Will play again. If you are looking to escape your family to relax, don't play here.

I didn’t stay in the rooms but played golf on their course. It’s something that we have been doing for years. We looked at the website got the rates and called for a tee time. When we got there we found out that the web site was wrong. The prices on the web were reasonable for the level of the course. (Not great but it is in the Adirondacks and the 10th hole has a great view) when we arrived and checked in they said that they didn’t have a senior rate anymore and the price per person was about $25.00 more than on the webpage. So for my wife and I were charged. $50. More that the web said we would pay. Sorry to say that we will never play there again and it is terrible that businesses like that can still do the old bait and switch.

Pretty good course, and it was in great shape, (08/23). And despite what the drive up the hill would suggest, it's pretty walkable. Getting to 16 tee maybe not so much, but the rest is. There are a couple of odd holes, but I suspect the course has been there a while and was re routed as it probably had a few short par 4's that were changed around. Not sure about that, but don't know how else to explain the V shaped part 5 I got to with hybrid, 7i. What I am sure about is that the most of the greens are small, making a GIR a big deal. But small greens means easy chipping. Most approach shots present a side you want, and a side you really don't, and you really don't. The greens range from subtle undulations to straight up not subtle. But they were in good shape and rolled true. The course is shortish but tight particularly on the back 9, sort of starting and ending more open with the tight holes in the middle. Hint: If your driver isn't spot on, hit less. And then there are the views. You get the whole thing on 10 tee, but also some good pics at other spots. The only downside that stood out is the "wedge only driving range". You can practice your flop shot at least, cause you'll need it sooner or later.

It was a perfect fall day for golf at Top Of The World Golf Resort.we took our friend for for his 50th Birthday and absolutely had a great time! The staff in the club house were very accommodating. We had dinner after our round. The food was awesome! Will definitely return!

Being generous with 2 stars. Yes there are some cool views, clubhouse is old and quaint but when we were there, tee times were delayed, didn’t have enough carts, 5somes on the course stinking things up, played 13 holes and went in- and the group behind us came in- can’t remember the last time I paid for 18 holes and quit- condition is what you’d expect for paying $40

First time at this golf course - check-in employee was very helpful, as we are both just picking up the sport. She explained everything we needed to start off our mid-morning 9-holes. Was a little surprised to have groundkeepers on the course while we played, but they were very respectful to our tee-offs. Incredible views of the mountains. The course description book was very helpful since we have never been there before. Felt like we were never rushed (let a few single players play past us). Look forward to visiting again

Great place to golf at. I have played here many times and am never disappointed with the course.

I was really looking forward to playing this course since I hadn’t played it in over 60 years and had some great memories from my childhood. The course was in great shape and my buddies and I had wonderful time but the staff was very unfriendly and unwelcoming.
I may go back again with my son & grandson sometime but I hope by then they have a change of personnel on staff.

I paid $67 for a Monday tee time. I wouldn’t pay that even if it was a weekend morning. The staff was friendly, the layout was unique, there were some cool views, the greens and course overall was challenging, but given the conditions of the course and golf cart, I’d only pay $30-40.

Arrived at the course 30 mins before our tee time that was booked a week and half before. Was informed the course was backed up (at 7: 30am?) and they did not have our tee time even though I showed him two confirmation emails. Would not recommend.

Update: they got us out on the course and I wish they hadn’t. Place is an absolute dump.

Very nice golf course great scenic and you can get a room to rent overnight friendly and historical golf course clubhouse

The course was in spectacular condition considering a hot summer. The staff was helpful and pleasant. Beautiful views of the mountains and Lake George. Will be back next year/vacation!

Beautiful mountain top location for a golf course. The tee boxes are well marked and maintained. The back nine is certainly more challenging than the front. I participated in an outing with seven foursomes and it was well organized.

Unbelievably rude staff on the course. What should have been a good and fun experience on a cool course was ruined by these employees.

Went with daughter's boyfriend and we both were very happy with the golf course. The greens were excellent and the course is challenging. Will definitely be back.

What a awful experience! I brought my 4yr old son along to play 18. He’s played countless rounds with me. This golf course turned me and my son away as he was not able to “ride” in the cart… they suggested he walked the 18 holes. Are you kidding me; walk 18 as a 4yr old? How do we expect youth to get to know and enjoy the game if not allowed to ride in the cart with there parent. What a joke. Nothing stated this rule anywhere on the website or at the golf course. I hope they reconsider this… if anything have the adult responsible sign a waiver.

Views are a hole-in-one! Stumbled upon this while looking for the French Mountain Trailhead. Didn't find that, but sure did see a stellar view that included Lake George & the Adirondacks! Top of the World is also open to the public. Knowing that, I may have to pick up golfing

I would love to give them more stars but it was their very last day of the season they only had a few things available but they were there and they were open beautiful location I can only imagine how wonderful it would be to golf up there with that gorgeous view and the beautiful course they have. It was simply my birthday and I wanted to go someplace remarkable like the top of the world for my 60th birthday sounded kind of good

One of the best courses I have ever played! In great condition. You get lots of different lies (uphill, sidehill etc.) The people working at the clubhouse are nice.

Played golf. It's a very interesting course.a little confusing sometimes. The restaurant was not open. Very friendly staff.

I booked online for $33.50 per golfer for 9 holes with a cart then was charged $51 per when we arrived. When I mentioned to the woman at the counter she said it was “Summer rates”. Is there a August 8th in the winter? She was very dismissive.

The first 2 golf carts I loaded up, didn’t work properly. The brakes wouldn’t release. At this point, I want to leave.

Then the course conditions was a complete joke, especially the greens. The worst I have ever played.

The course superintendent should be embarrassed and the owner should be
ashamed for charging “Summer Rates” like that.

Do yourself a favor and play elsewhere

It’s rare to find a course that doesn’t want your business. They’ve forgotten my tee time I’ve made a month ago. So I made a new tee time, I showed up at that time, and they forgot a second time. Very rude and unprofessional staff, not recommended.

Rooms are very clean, people are super friendly, helpful, and accomodating. Food is amazing and the golf course was fantastic. The scenery was unmatched, the views were stellar! Highly recommend!

$67.00 is a complete price gouge not only for tourists but locals as well. The course is in decent shape (no where near a professional course). Most all of the signage on each tee box was destroyed or no longer there. The golf carts are early 2000's and were constantly dying, no beverage cart etc. The only positive part about this round of golf were the views to be honest. I would not pay more than $40 to golf at this course considering the conditions.

After looking at the reviews this seemed like a great place to go play a round of golf. After walking in to the club house the two people behind the bar were not very personable. We were excited to be there and very bubbly but they werent having it. Felt like we were somehow inconveniencing them. Next was the tee boxes. Can't call them tee boxes as they had very long grass and wasn't a level spot on them. The fairways blended in with the rough and was just clover. The only good thing about this course was the view on the 10th tee box of lake George. Wouldn't recommend this place.

Nice spot but the lady bartender was too busy to turn around and wait on us she was talking on the phone so we left!
