Got my Capitans Matt blk. Fits great. Definitely, next time, I'm going for the Capitan brandy boots.

I recently purchased the Duchess boots from Thursday, and as a Canadian, I anticipated extra delivery costs and duties. The delivery was prompt, and the boots are made of high-quality material. However, I encountered issues with the sizing. Despite typically wearing a size 7.5 US / 38 EUR in various shoe brands like Birkenstocks, Timberland, Nike, or Naturalizer, the boots were surprisingly narrow. Even without socks, they felt too snug, and I couldn’t even fit into them with crew socks on.

Attempting to exchange them has been a challenge. The company’s sole mode of communication is through text or email, and despite reaching out, I haven’t received a response. I’ve requested contact to discuss sizing and the return process to the US, but no one has reached out. The lack of effective customer service has been disappointing, leaving me uncertain if there are actual people behind their customer service department or if it’s automated.

While the boots are well-made, the after-sales service has fallen short, making it difficult to recommend Thursday boots without hesitation. I’m still hoping for a resolution and an opportunity to exchange these boots, but the communication barrier has made this process frustrating.

I keep seeing ads for this company on Instagram, but I hate buying shoes without being able to try them on first, so am always wary of buying online. I happened to be in NYC for a few days and decided to stop by. Earlier in my trip, I'd stopped into a similar upscale-type shoe store where I was completely ignored by the sales staff in an empty store, despite being willing to spend good $ on some shoes, so I was feeling wary. But as soon as I stepped off the elevator into Thursday's space, I was greeted warmly by an employee (I think his name was Gio?) who showed me around the store and was very helpful in finding the right fit for me. Another employee offered me water while I waited and everyone was very kind and helpful throughout. I can't speak to the shoes themselves yet since I just bought them but in terms of service and environment of the store, everything was fantastic!

Not only is everything they make top quality, the customer service is also second to none. The showroom is very clean and comfortable. There really aren’t any racks for you to pull from and try on - you’ll need to talk with an associate who will bring you whatever you want from the stock room. They even offered us water and coffee while we waited for our products to be pulled.

Definitely quality is good very comfortable sneakers except that the paint comes out of the leather and stains the socks, not advisable to wear them with white socks otherwise you can’t clean the socks from the black color

Stopped by to check out sizing. One gentleman was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and attentive. Helped with sizing and recommendations on the leather jackets and premier sneakers. Unfortunately my sizing just wasn’t in stock so I’ll have to keep an eye out online. But kudos to the staff.

One of the worst experiences I have ever had. I followed their size ordering guide and the boots arrived way too big. I chatted with their support to file and exchange. They told me a half size down was the equivalent of 4mm, or the thickness of a pencil, of the thickness of your index finger. If you are confused, so was I. The average pencil is 6mm and average index finger is between 9-22mm. I made a guess and went a half size down. The new pair arrived a few days later still too big. Worse, they arrived damaged. The heal was coming off and there were DEEP scratches all over both boots. I took pictures and sent them to support explaining I needed a smaller size and that these arrived damaged. They told me the next size down was out of stock but would get back to me. Two weeks later another pair the SAME size as the ones I just told them were too big showed up in the mail. These ones were in worse shape. One entire side of the left boot looks like it was lit on fire. The leather was blistered, cracked, and had air pockets between the layers. I messaged support again who had no idea what I was talking about with this new pair that arrived. The size I need is still out of stock and they have no idea when it will be in stock again. They also claim that their quality control would have never let boots out in that shape.

Their support has no idea:
- when things will be in stock
-what the difference between 4,6, or 9-22 mm is
-how their quality control actually works

I will never order from this company or recommend them to anyone.

Boots look much different new than the ones one the floor, as it takes a bit to age them.

All shoes are handcrafted, so they don't all fit the same.

I really appreciate you both going above and beyond never seen a stronger team in any retail location. It was quite busy but the attention was balanced amongst so many customers. I wasn’t expecting to purchase a pair of boots at all; I was there for my partner who had done so much research before stopping in; great work you two, we both love our new Thursday boots.

The soles are badly faded and the faded part of the floor cannot be washed off. The customer service is not responding at all. This shoe is definitely not good as described in commercial, and I doubt good comments comes from themselves.

Have been here a couple of times to get boots and love this store that doesn’t feel like a store. While they don’t have huge amounts of stock it’s ideal to go and see how different boots fit and look. I have a wide foot so I’m a 9.5 in wide fits but 10 in others. Trying them on makes a massive difference.

Great service from Sam and team yesterday. Was looking for a Chelsea boot but I have wide feet so tried multiple and couldn’t get the right fit. Tried the cadets and loved them.

No way I would have gotten them if I just bought them online.

Before I write about the experience, I'll say these boots are great. It's nice to have found a casual, cap-toe boot that works well with jeans and business casual. The dark olive Captains are awesome. True to my shoe size. Slightly roomy, not a bad thing at all. Comfortable. Room to add arch support, if necessary.

At first they sent me the wrong color, with the correct label on the box. I had a way-over-the-top negative reaction to this. Didn't really make sense for me to do that. These things happen and it's as fine line between entitled consumer and negative CS experience. I wrote negative things on FB, which was unfair for me to do. They had a case manager that was on it and processed a return. They corrected the issue very quickly. Both the FB and case manager in email were good about the whole process. Sorry guys!

I'll likely continue to be a customer. Have the gray captains on my radar for the future. We'll see how these go.

I bought 2 boots over the weekend and couldn't be happier. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Captain Jack Thursday rocked it.

Got the black Captain style boots. While good quality the heel is needlessly heavy and it makes it difficult and uncomfortable to walk more than a short distance in.

Thursday's boots look beautiful but their durability is questionable. That is a year and a half of wear using them in a rotation with other boots so maybe 2 days a week. My Red Wing Iron Rangers are going 8 years strong. A little more expensive but Thursday obviously cuts corners to drop the price where it is. Customer service was unwilling to do anything about it so they have lost my business for good.

Good luck getting anyone to help you. Sat in the store for 45mins without being acknowledged, was told 'I'll be with you next' then ignored. Don't look poor or be anything other than a Caucasian to expect service here.

Great service at this store! I was helped by Will, who was knowledgable about the products and took the time to make sure I had the right fit for my new boots. It was a great customer service experience.

The store itself is cozy and has that pleasant leather smell when you walk in. I walked home in my new black matte Captains and couldn't be happier. You can tell they are high quality and built to last. Very comfortable on my feet as well. Soon, I will be buying some Dukes as well. Thanks Will!

As other reviews have mentioned, great service here. Very attentive and knowledgeable staff. Only downside is that the stock is very limited depending on color. The store did not have the color I wanted in stock there, but you can try on the boots in store and they can ship it home in the desired color you want. Nevertheless, the excellent service more than makes up for it.

The leather got bad very quickly and stitches came out I asked them to do something about it. They ignored the issue and suggested me to take the shoes to a cobbler.

Such an easy experience and was so happy to finally find a comfortable boot in my size. The associate, Will, was super helpful and suggested dropping a half size lower which made a huge difference in the fit of the boot. He was nice enough to grab both sizes from the back so I could compare! When it was all said and done he had me in and out in less than 15 minutes!

Very comfortable, stylish and affordable boots and a comfortable shopping experience. I will be back for my next pair.

Update….

So it’s been 8 months still love Thursday boots and these are still the most comfortable out of
the box boot but there is little bit of disappointment with my captains. First, about two months of owning them the laces snapped, not a big deal came back to the store got replacement laces, they we too short for the boots there were no other options, had to go to another shoe store to get replacement laces, a minor annoyance. What is more frustrating is after only 8 months and not really wearing them through the summer I’m already looking at getting them resoled. It will not be long before they start talking as the threads are already popping through on my right sole. If was on my feet all day and I wore them all the time, I could understand the wear issues, but I spend most of the day riding a desk.

Great service. They didn’t have the color I wanted but free shipping to Canada meant it wouldn’t cost me extra. I got the boots delivered: spectacular. As advertised and better. The online reviews are spot on! They are amazing. Sneakers next…

Had a great experience here! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They were knowledgeable about the product and more than happy to help me find my perfect fit and style. Although they didn’t have the exact pair I wanted in stock in the store, they were able to help me place an order online and get it shipped right to my house. Will happily go back once I’m need of a new pair (which I’m guessing won’t be any time soon!)

Great experience from start to finish at the Manhattan show room! Danny, Will, and Roza were attentive, fun to talk to, and gave perfect recommendations on sizing and style. Love the sneakers I bought and will definitely be a repeat customer.

I followed Thursday Boots advice and ordered a half size smaller. Way too small. Thursday Boots now refuses to exchange the for the right size. Worst Customer Service.

Bought my first Thursday Boots on the Last day of the year. I was concerned with a crease on the Captains I tried on, without hesitation Dany got me a fresh pair! Great Service!

It was busy today! However, Layla and Danny managed to give me excellent service. Layla even fashioned a durable carrying handle (out of laces) for me to carry my purchase!

Do not buy boots from this company. Apparently they barely cary any boots in stock in the store, it’s just a showroom. I ordered a pair there the day before Thanksgiving. The staff told me it would take 3-5 days to receive. Christmas came and still no boots. Reached out to their customer service for over a month (it’s only email btw) and no resolution. Call the store itself.not able to help. Eventually I to ask them to cancel my order for a refund. What a terrible waste of time.

Staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. They helped me with all of my sizing questions and made my return/swap super easy. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the market for boots.

I absolutely love Thursdays! The boots are just incredible, the quality, the price, the looks, everything is top notch! Even if they don't sell their products in Switzerland, I went out of my way to order their specific boots! Also the costumer service is amazing too!

I came in to get fitted and am so glad I chose to buy these boots in person. My experience with the employees really defined the energy of the visit, danny answered every question i had with no hesitation. Cant wait to come back!

If I could write one star I would. I came into the store in NYC around 3: 30 pm on 9/27/2021 to try on some boots. I told the lady working there the boots and sizes I wanted to try on. After I told her what I wanted to try on, a customer interrupted her to pay and 2 other customers stopped her to get shoes. Both of the customers waiting got the shoes they wanted and I was still sitting to get my shoes that I wanted to try on even though I asked first. I was not happy so I left. Store experience was a let down. Because Thursday Boot's is mostly sold online, visiting from CA, I wanted to try on the boots I want in person while visiting NY. When I got to the store, all the styles I wanted to try on were not in stock. I asked if I could try on the display pair that was in my size and was told I could not try on the display so the shoes stay in good condition. That didn't sit right with me. I didn't get to try on the shoes I wanted for the sake of aesthetics. So I left the store with a bad impression.

Best boots and shoes in the business. Great price, durable, and make every outfit killer. If you are looking for boots, congratulations, you’ve found what you’ve been looking for!

Super friendly and helpful staff. Gorgeous showroom. I had to try a number of styles and they were very patient & helped with care and maintenance tips.

I ordered a pair of brown captains size 7 EE after watching a video review by BootSpy. Finally received them in the mail yesterday after a month plus.

Boots are well constructed with really solid quality leather and stitching. They will however take time to mold to my feet.

The leather at the ankle and heel area are extremely tough, making it hard to walk up the stairs and causing blisters on my heels after taking them for a slow 20 min walk. I expect these problems to go away in about 2-3 weeks of constant wear. They feel kinda like my pair of old-skool military parade boots I had back when I was in the army.

Thursday recommended a half size smaller for these boots, but my boots were still about one size too big. Inserting foam insoles from my old running shoes helped correct the fitting problem.

The rubber soles on these are really
grippy and the leather shines beautifully after applying and buffing off a few coats of Saphir renovateur and shoe cream.

I hope these babies would mold to my feet soon so that I can wear them as my daily beater. Oh and I’m not sure why but the left tongue keeps sliding to the side despite multiple attempts to keep it straight.

Overall the customer service response from Tiffany was awesome and these are some quality made boots value for the money.

These boots have broken in after about a week of constant wear in my room and short 20-60 min walks in the park. They feel BEAUTIFUL on my feet. I’m able to walk naturally as though I’m wearing running shoes. They’re super comfortable!

I've never written a review before, but I feel compelled to now––Thursday boots are exceptional. I've worn them every single day for three years now and it's like they just get better with age. (I oil them and shine them a few times a year, but that's it.) Beautifully, durably crafted and classically handsome (I have the Captains in Old English brown). I've had boots that look nice for a bit and then fall apart, and these are different. Worth every penny.

My wife and I were visiting New York and this store was on our list of places to visit. At the time of this review the store is located on the second floor of a building. We were immediately attended by Chris who explained everything about the company and different shoes available. Chris is a great example of what it takes to make a company successful. He was extremely courteous, and attentive and it was clear how proud he is of where he works. The shoes themselves are extremely comfortable and my wife and I already added several pairs for each other as upcoming Christmas gifts. An amazing brand with great quality shoes. I am confident the Thursday Boot Company will continue to expand successfully! Can't wait to wear my new boots at the end of the year! Thank you Chris!

Just started buying from Thursday boots.
I bought the Combat and Captain, both initially 9.5 even though I usually wear 8 max 8.5, The gray Combat 8.5 felt tight and 9 was out of stock. Long story short the 9.5 was huge, so I ended exchanging both for 8.5. My only concern is my exchange look as if they were worn outside when mine were never.
The Combat boots 8.5 in black are actually very comfortable unlike the gray, as for the Captain I give it 4* because as stylish as they are, they are such struggle to put on, a zipper on the side would have done the trick. The employees there are very nice and patient. Will shop again.

It was my first time to purchase Thursday Boots. The store is very clean, organized and spacious. There are a lot of couches, chairs and mirrors. One of staff, Layla Furtado, was very friendly and helpful to choose the right size and color. I had very good shopping experience.

Im not buying anything anymore from this company ever again, the worse company sending me the worse item, color, I never again will go by any advise from YouTube and they don’t answer phone, plus first they delivered boots to the wrong house and, last the wrong color Florsheim is better

They have only about 20-30% of the shoes they have on display actually in stock. Basically they want you to just order them online. If they are made in NYC, as advertised, then why is this the case? I was very disappointed.

I love my boots (captain). I’d say just get your size. Don’t listen to them on getting half a size or a size size smaller. Get your size. I got half a size smaller and they fit but they’re just pretty uncomfortable to the point of painful if I wear them for more than 2 hours at a time. An issue that would not exist had I just gotten my size or half size bigger.

Thursday Boot Company was an amazing experience for me, the service was very warm and welcoming, brian, and Layla talk about the companies product and how's it all started. The quality of the products is amazing, definitely coming back.

Just got my first pair, wasn't expecting this nice of a pair for the price but these boots are exceptionally made an are of the highest quality materials that rivals any well knowm overpriced brand name boot manufacture. My new favorite boot company by far!

Clean and tidy showroom. All clients were asked to sanitize their hands and not touch the shoes on display to limit the spread of COVID which I appreciated.

Overall, I had an amazing experience shopping at Thursday Boots’ retail store. It was great checking out the Duchess boots in person, and the experience was made even more amazing with the help of Layla. She was very friendly, attentive, and helpful. She brought me another pair of 10.5 boots of the same style and a size 10 pair when I told her the ones I tried on were a bit too loose. To my surprise, the second pair of 10.5 fit more snug and was the perfect fit.

I cannot speak for the durability of their shoes as I just purchased the boots, but I would definitely recommend visiting the store just based on their amazing customer service and chic showroom layout.

Kyle and Chris were an amazing help navigating my first major boot purchase. Always helpful and quick to answer questions. As someone who is massively indecisive, they really made the process easy and enjoyable. And I got a sweet pair of boots to top it all off.
