The entrance to this mall is very impressive. There are a variety of high-end shops on the multiple floors with a Whole Foods in the basement. The Whole Foods, owned by Amazon, also has an Amazon Locker for shipping things. The mall overall is right next to the Columbus Circle station, making it easy to get to and from.
Columbus circle! I love this place! You can go in the beginning of central park, all kinds of transportation around there. She shops in there are amazing! I love to go in the basement where whole foods is. High end stores, lounge and fine food! Columbus circle has it ALL!
I live in NYC/native so I've been to this location and Christmas shops thousands of times. The shops at Columbus circle are smaller than a lot of the other NYC setups.and because it's smaller, it gets crowded at busy times.also, panhandlers are usually all over the place.not exactly my idea of fun anymore.
Pros: -What it lacks in width it makes up for in height. Nordstrom for days. -If you're looking for free wifi, go to the standard stores like Nordstrom and Starbucks. -Definitely something for everyone here, especially if you are looking to escape the rain.
Cons: -Pricey, touristy, and doesn't isn't that big in width.
There are no benches so I was sitting on the floor while waiting for a friend. Security guy asked me to stand up. But where else I can sit? Really weird. Make some benches.
The Shops at Columbus Circle is a veritable vortex of tourists that are either rabidly eager to spend exorbitant amounts of money in the spirit of American retail or blissfully unaware of the lack of bargains offered at this mall. During my last visit, I was lucky enough to just be the travel guide for visiting family that took on both of these characterizations.
The food court is gigantic and there's a bajillion options to try. There's a bajillion stores, but not a lot that I'd shop at. There's Bloomingdales, and Nordstrom and all the department stores. Meh. Whatever. The selection at each store is not that fabulous. I was looking for a white dress in January of 2010 - I didn't care what length it was, how fancy it was. It just had to be white (ish) and a dress. I searched up and down that mall and couldn't find anything. Okay, I did find ONE white dress, but it was. $14,000. Ummm. Bleh.
Another drawback to this mall is that it closes early- I think 10. If it was midnight, I might bump this up to fan worthy, but as it stands, there's not enough places that I'd shop at for this to be an "omg, I love this place" sort of joint.
Wonderful mall, some high end designer brands, downstairs there is a wholefoods, on some upper floors they have cafes, and also high end restaurants (prefer you reserve a table). Across the street is central park, close to 5th Ave.
