The Lake Motel

Had a great stay at The Lake Motel last weekend - extremely clean room with a recently renovated bathroom and comfortable mattress. The desk attendant communicated well ahead of and during check-in. The decks down by the lake have beautiful views, nice chairs, and fire pits. Only challenge was with the wifi, but it was a stormy weekend, which may have been part of the cause. I had decently strong cell service (Verizon) in our room, but my partner who has a different carrier did not.

Have stayed here 3 years in a row. The rooms are super clean, bathrooms as well. Heated pool and the outdoor fireplaces are awesome. Don't hesitate book the room here!

Great location, good front desk staff. It was too cold to try the pool, unfortunately, but everything else was a great value. A short walk to Blue Thirty Two, which is a great spot

I traveled with my senior parents. My mom had a nasty fall a few days before we traveled and the service we received at the Lake Motel was 5 star! They were absolutely amazing and gracious and they felt like family. They helped us find a parking spot and helped us with our luggage. It didn't matter who was at the front desk, they always greeted us with a smile and were always pleasant and accommodating.
The motel is not large so you won't have trouble finding a seat by the pool or a scenic adirondack by the lake. The grounds were pristine and well cared for.
There are definitely stairs to get down to the pool and dock, so book accordingly. The 1st floor by the lake could be considered 2nd floor rooms because you need to go downstairs. However, you also have the option of backtracking toward the front of the motel, and walking down the walkway to the pool/dock area.
Parking was a bear but once we parked, we didn't move for several days. Everything is in walking distance or you can take the trolley.
I would not hesitate to stay here again.

I was told we would have a view of the lake and we would be down close to the lake. No. The view out the window was of the building next door.big blank wall. I could see the lake if I leaned way out over the rail in front of our room. The pool was small and the parking was awful. The room was very very small and the mattress on the one bed was sagging like an old sway backed horse. Way too much money for so little.

Just spent 4th of July weekend here with my daughter. Everyone was extremely friendly and accommodating and we enjoyed the nightly events. The beds are so comfortable. Complimentary coffee/hot chocolate in main office. The only ding was that our AC didn't work that well.

Great people. Great views. Thus place is very friendly and the staff goes out of there way to make you feel right at home

Not a bad place if you need somewhere cheap to stay and your going to be going out and about. The staff was very nice, accommodating but didn’t clean our room when asked. What I really liked was the free kayaking, BBQ and fire pits. A lot of people go to this place every year and like staying here. It’s great that it’s so close to the strip so you can walk. Parking can be a problem which would be my biggest complaint. If I go back I would come here again.

My husband had booked a stay for two nights we called to canceled three days prior due to unforseen circumstances. The receptionist said we could cancel but would not receive our money back. Even with plenty of notice as stated in their cancelation policy. The owner refused to refund and I had to call my bank and open up a case because he was so difficult to deal with.

A great spot on Lake George with an exceptional view! Gas grills for cooking an a heated pool!

Great motel by the lake. Super wifi. Very nice owners. Beautiful views of Lake George. Within walking distance of many restaurants and stores.
Only negative is not much parking.

Stayed 3 days over labor day. Rooms were very nice and clean. Heated pool was awesome overlooking the lake. Nice fire pits and deck for hanging out at night. Parking is ZERO stars. I can't explain how awful it is. Also very very very small lake area. I wouldn't go back but I'd recommend you give it a shot.

Stayed here a couple of times already and they make sure you have a pleasant time during your stay.

They have their own pool and a nice dock with an elevated platform so you can get a nice view of the lake. You can also use their grill if you want to make your BBQ. The use of their canoe and paddle board is free and so are the rootbeer float everynight

The rooms are clean and they follow strict Covid protocols (they cannot even go inside your room to pick up towels).

Will definetly go back.

Lovely motel on Lake George. This was my first trip to Lake George. The Lake Motel is within walking distance of everything. The rooms were clean. The refrigerators were a decent size, so you can pick up groceries, and cook on the grills or the large griddle. They have lots of cozy gathering outdoor spaces. The staff is very friendly and accommodating…and the flowers, which are everywhere, are the loveliest arrangements in town.

I am not sure where to start with how amazing this motel is. I guess I will start with the amazing staff because the work incredibly hard to make this motel what it is. The motel is gorgeous, as you can see from the photos; it is lined with beautiful flowers, the pool area facing the lake and multiple decks/seating area equipped with grills and fire pits are a wonderful touch. The swim area with platform and ability to use paddle boards and kayaks makes it the perfect lake motel. If all that isn't enough for you, what makes this hotel truly stand out are the nightly touches, ice cream trucks, root beer floats, s, mores kits and more, all included with your room. The rooms are nice and clean, they are tiny but who is spending much time in there. If I had to find something to improve it would be the mattresses, one side of ours caved in but not enough for me to deduct a star. The location is wonderful, we brought stuff to go the beach at Shepard's Park, but never made it because the waterfront set up at the motel was perfect for us! To EVERYONE AT THE LAKE MOTEL, THANK YOU! YOU ALL MADE OUR WEEKEND AWAY AMAZING.

The only thing I didn't like was the parking situation and the size of the pool. Otherwise the rooms were super clean and I had a great time. I definitely recommend it

(Realistically a 4.5) LOVED, LOVED, LOVED THIS PLACE!
The Lake Motel (Google also calls it The Lake Inn) is a GORGEOUS place to stay while in Lake George, that's located within walking distance of the Village and filled with both knowledgeable and friendly staff. Their rates are incredible because they also include a heated pool, canoes, paddle boats, grills, fire pits at night, and they also had a nightly free event which is nice for adults but great for kids. Our 1st night they had root beer floats, 2nd night they did smores, 3rd night was an ice cream truck and boats came out to the lake and set off a beautiful firework display!
The rooms were very clean and came with a queen bed, full bed, nice lounging chair, good size fridge with a freezer, air conditioner, coffee pot, microwave, desk and a 32" TV. The wifi was fantastic with download speeds ranging from 30 - 75 mbps and upload speeds ranging from 15 - 40 mbps. The bathroom was modern and very clean and even came with a drying lamp in the ceiling. The hand soap, body wash and shampoo were of very good quality.
There are 2 floors of rooms that open off of an outside balcony. At the lake side of each floor is a viewing area with a round table and wicker chairs. Outside of each room is 2 chairs and a small table.
Our room was about 20 feet from the viewing area and less then 100 feet from the lake! It was incredible to wake up, walk right out the door and have coffee watching the boats, and people para-sailing.
The pool area was exceptionally clean with a large heated pool and ample places to both sit and sun bathe or at night sit by the multiple fire pits. Off the edge of this area where stairs that brought you to the dock where you could swim in a buoyed off section of the lake, grill, sign up to use the canoes or paddle boats, or climb up to a small intimate deck with a seating area and private fire pit.
NOW TO THE CONS: (IMPORTANT NOTE: 2 and 3 are minimal issues)
1. Parking is pretty abysmal especially for people who can't parallel park. The hotel is parallel to another hotel so you park against the back side of the other hotel or in very few spots under a couple of the first rooms. Either way, it's a very tight fit and sadly there's nothing the owners can do about it.
2. The plumbing is slightly lacking with air bubbles coming up the toilets when someone in a nearby room flushes the toilet. The shower also from time to time would get colder for a few seconds.
3. A very small gripe from my wife but there wasn't any conditioner offered in the rooms.
In conclusion, this is a simply wonderful place to stay filled with incredible people. The husband and wife owners are so down to Earth and their special needs daughter stole our hearts!

Excellent spot to stay in lake George except for the pool being very small and only one way in and out for parking, the place is great

Very nice motel, just got back from 3 days there. Clean, quiet. Only downside was the parking as we had a big truck. Staff very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again

Awesome deck with bbq grills and fires. Rooms were clean and comfortable, staff are very friendly and helpful. Outdoor seating and deck is cleaned multiple times a day. Would stay here again.

Great stay on the lake. Book early for a better rate. Kayaks and paddle boards are free for guests. Several barbeques on the deck, heated pool and friendly staff. The whole family had a great time!

Very clean. Activities for the family at night really set this place apart from others. Free kayaks. Raft and paddle boards a plus. Will be returning in the future
