The Flatiron Room

Apart from the fantastic food and cocktails, excellent blues band and atmosphere, and superb service, there were two standout experiences that make this place truly special for me.

1) I expressed an interest in the custom-made cocktail sticks.
Our impressive server, Chris, said they are for sale ($20 for 5, I think) but took the time to ask his manager who was nearby. They asked how many I need and I said only one. They cheerfully gave me a few, which was especially kind as I was indicating I would buy them. However, I was even more impressed with the service when I needed help from the service team upon returning home.

2) I realized I had left my favorite flat cap (bought in England) at the coat check, but I was flying out that evening and could not go back to the restaurant to retrieve it. We emailed later explaining my mistake. Within a short time, the general manager, Igor responded. Igor graciously agreed to mail the cap and assured us he’d take care of everything. And he did. A few days later, my cap arrived in North Carolina.

Thank you, Chris and Igor for your kindness and making the entire experience at The Flatiron Room so pleasant and memorable. We look forward to returning, hopefully soon!

I went here last Saturday night.
I tried also the last year to walk in but with no result, because I forgot to make the reservation.
The location is very small, but really intimate, the acoustic is really good and grant you to ear the music at 110 %!
I had also a dinner here and to be honest, normally when you go to a music club the food is not really the best, but this cliché here is completely refuted. The food was good, with high quality row material.
Last but not least the drinks, no words to describe it…. Super!

Love this spot! Great atmosphere. It's even better when they have live music.so try to go on one of those nights.

Great date night spot. Live jazz/soul while you eat. There seems to be a 2 hour maximum for the table and they make that apparent when you arrive. They have a coat check for cold nights. The cocktails were on point and the food was delicious. Would come back when in NYC.

Absolutely amazing. Incredible bourbon selection, incredible staff, incredible atmosphere with good live music.

I decided to try this establishment for the first time because I wanted to hear the singer, Joanne Weaver, perform. The set up is nice and the stage visible from the whole space. Joanne is fantastic. She put her own unique spin on American Standards songs you will know from the Broadway and 20th century jazz vocals. She makes these songs her own, which is so important since many of these songs have been recorded many times. Set highlights include "Til There Was You" and "What's New? "

For dinner, I had gnocchi with mushrooms which was excellent. We ordered the 28 layer chocolate cake for dessert. It's presentation was excellent, but the taste did not live up to the expectations. My friend enjoyed her gin-based "Garden of Eden" cocktail and the service at the bar was attentive and kind.

The food is unfortunately less than average.
We ordered the feta with carrots, the focaccia bread and the salmon and the chicken. All of those items were less than averages the focaccia was dry and the the rest were edible.
The dessert was very good.
It is too bad, becauee I was looking forward to it, I had a guest from out of town and wanted to impress him by bringing him to a show/dinner.

Awesome selections of whiskies in a very cool space. Wish they had more live music, like they used to have….

A bit pricy but the food was good. The main reason we chose this restaurant was because we wanted to hear some live jazz but we could barely hear anything. A bit disappointed about the music situation.

Had one of the worst New York dining experiences here. First when we arrived there was no hostess at the door. Had to go inside the restaurant to look for a hostess. Took 30 minutes for the drinks and appetizer to arrive. Food is mediocre at best. For a New York restaurant the standard should be much higher. And they messed up the entree. Took another 30 minutes for the right dish to arrive. The ravioli was undercooked and hard. Would not recommend.

Great little spot with a MASSIVE collection of whiskey. My bartender was amazing, informative and patient. She recommended a few things that I was quite interested in, Especially when they didn’t have my first choice. Also, she was an awesome conversationalist!

Excellent whiskey selection and even better bartenders. Get a whiskey flight and enjoy a good time.

Zaiesha was the most wonderful and sweet server I’ve ever had. She was incredibly attentive and sold me on being a repeat customer who will be coming back time and time again.

If you are going there to JUST listen to music, have the absolute lowest expectations for service.

Service is abhorrent. Its basically a tourist trap.you go, they seat you.you get 1 maybe 2 drinks - servers actively avoid taking care of you if you dont order a ton of stuff right when you sit down. I asked for a dessert menu twice, they said yeah Ill get it, then never brought it.after 1.5 hours they hand you the bill because they have a "2 hour turn around" for tables but heres the best part, there are plenty of tables available.they are basically saying - you need to leave.music was fantastic.high quality, intimate space.but just be prepared to be pushed out the door.you could sit up at the bar for however long you want but not really a good view of the stage, so whats the point - you are just paying 15-20 a cocktail with background jazz now.

Fabulous venue with fantastic live music. Some of the dishes were tasty but one item arrived very late and no apology offered. Most of the time, service was good. Mac and cheese was yummy. Definitely worth a visit.

Amazing and widest selection of whiskey that I have ever seen. The collection of Scotches is the biggest and most impressive if that is your thing. Bartenders are very helpful and friendly with providing recommendations.

A lovely and entertaining Sunday evening. Fun drinks, excellent food and a guitarist with a love for Django Reinhardt and a singer for bossa nova vocals.

Beautiful intimate small cool settling for a date night or a chill night with your girls. Not crowded, no one was being pushy. The hostess was really nice even though we were running late. The band that played sounded good. The music wasn’t too overpowering not to have a conversation. The drinks were amazing. A well balance of all flavors. The whiskey flights were really good also. Food was really good, everything tasted fresh small portions for what you get though. Menu items add up, you can easily spend $3-$400 here. My experience was worth all items ordered.

Not bad food at an expensive price, they weren't ready to change the addition to the dish even for health reasons, they took 3% cost of using credit! Although the advertisement was a DJ and not a live performance, I recommend looking for places with more value for money

The ambience is the best part of this place along with the food and service. The stage and dining area is hypnotic and super fun with great live music. Gone twice, and both evenings did not disappoint at all

Best whiskey bar in NYC. Very knowledgeable bartenders. Great selection. Music and ambiance are fantastic.

Unbelievable whisky bar. Great selection with an extremely knowledgeable barman.

And the DJ played some nice mellow tunes to compliment the atmosphere.
