Sole East Resort

I'm reviewing this venue as a wedding photographer and I can tell you it's STUNNING! I highly recommend this beautiful Montauk venue. The staff were incredible and the food was delicious.

Place is horrible, I have never written a review in my life but this dump needs one…I booked through a 3rd party website, Solé east canceled it so they don’t have to share their profit, then re booked me, and charged me again at the desk… I have 3 separate room charges, no matter how many times I call I get no response or told I’ll get a phone call back which doesn’t happen, this has been going on since July and it is now the end of October and again today “I’ll get a call back but we are closed for the winter” lol this place absolutely sucks and the “hotel” looks like they tried to convert a nursing home into a hotel.paper thin walls, squeaky wood floors, poor lighting in the rooms as well, spend your money elsewhere

One of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed at. This is a $500/nt hostel with a pool. When I asked the “front desk” for water, she said they didn’t have any and gave me a plastic cup to drink from the bathroom sink (because there are no cups in the room). There’s no phone in the rooms if you need anything; you have to walk down to request. But hey, the floors are painted white.

This resort is a little slice of heaven! We were traveling with a baby and a toddler and were pleasantly surprised to be able to actually relax! The garden is idyllic and the staff are so attentive. We wound up not going to the beach as much as we had planned because staying on the grounds was so pleasant and fulfilling! We will definitely be back.

This is the single worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I have actually stayed in better accommodations in Port au Prince, Haiti. Avoid at all costs

A hidden gem. Had a wonderful and relaxing time by the pool. Will definitely be back again next season!

This place is trash. Essentially a 1 star motel run by a bunch of snooty people that think they work at the Ritz

Overpriced for super small basic and noisy rooms. We understand that all rooms have been painted white and the bathrooms have been renovated, but the rooms, at least our double bed room, did not even have cabinets to place our bags and not room to walk around. We had to keep the bass on the floor next to the door. We paid almost $500 for this room for one night in August. I know it’s Montauk and we love Montauk, but for this price we should expect more, don’t you agree? The property is very nice and the room was clean but the sliding door to the bathroom does not provide privacy. The rooms facing the roads are noisy. Receptionists at the hotel are nice and professional.

Excellent location and clean rooms. The property managers like Thomas are a pleasure to deal with and have been very accommodating on all our Mtk trips this year.

Very clean hotel and great outdoor space. The rooms were a good size and having a restaurant on site is a great bonus

This hotel stole my money by MORE than double charging my credit card for over $700. After calling an extraordinary amount of times, they bounced me back and forth for weeks between the hotel and the restaurant. Both claimed that it is the other entities problem. They provided me with 2 receipts that have identical charges, both unsigned.

No one is willing to help or claim responsibility. The management at this hotel has no respect for their patrons. No calls back, ever. I had to track them down and most times they wouldn’t take my call.

I had to resort to disputing with my credit card. I would not be surprised if they attempted to validate their charges to dispute my claim.

Disgusted is an understatement. Specifically with the Manager Tom and Lyle who refused to do anything to help resolve the issue.

We would stay here every time we made trips to Montauk in the summer. With the first time being almost 10 years ago, we liked it each time, they have a great pool that is about 9 feet deep in the deep end, air conditioners and private bathrooms for each room, and will offer toothbrushes and toothpaste if you forgot them back at home. The place is clean and modern, with a nice vibe and friendly people, and is close enough to the town and beach area. One thing to note is, if you plan on staying here during the colder months, some rooms radiators are disconnected/missing and there are no integrated electric heaters either, so it will be cold around these times. At least as I observed two years ago, idk if they’ve fixed them or added heaters as of recently, or provide space heaters during the winter. But it’s just a heads up for winter travelers. Overall we would stay again

Have stayed here a million times. Seems like home away from home at this point and the staff is like family. The staff in general are always super helpful in terms of ensuring the grounds are setup to be taken advantage of- e.g. Firewood ready for late night s'mores, giant games on the lawns, heated pool, etc. They also throw a great Halloween party!

My wife and I booked a reservation over Labor Day weekend at Sole East Resort in Montauk, excited for a long weekend getaway. This stay was a 3 night minimum and we were checking in on a Saturday night. Once we checked in we saw that our room was completely infested with bugs (mosquitos amongst them). We went straight to the front desk where they informed us they had no other rooms available. They sent someone up to see the room, and they preceded to use a broom to kill the bugs against the wall. Unfortunately, those dead bugs landed on our bed. Safe to say there was no way my wife and I were staying in that room.

We immediately told the front desk we were not staying and they said they would let the manager know in order to discuss reimbursement. It’s been 4 months and we still have not heard from the owner (who apparently is the only one who can right this wrong). We were charged full price for the 3 nights on a holiday weekend and did not stay at the hotel for any of those nights.

This has been the worst customer experience I’ve ever had in my years of travel and vacationing. Not only was the room uninhabitable, we’ve yet to get a response from the hotel despite numerous attempts to get a manager/owner on the line.

I could not recommend this hotel less.
