This place is amazing and with such a great staff! Queen did my cut and color and basically transformed it. The whole staff works like a team and are so kind and accomodating! Def recommend

Loved my salon experience. Hair color lifted at least 3 levels and took into account my gray roots. My hair was trimmed and blown out and it was so smooth! Plan to return in the near future.

Salon West is the best salon I have come across, I have been loyally coming only to this salon for years, thanks to Ava my hair finally has the color and style I have always looked for. Ava is a very talented and specialized hair colorist/stylist has managed to transform my hair into what I always wanted. I always leave feeling so confident and beautiful, she listens to my requests and makes the magic happen, she goes out of her way to make you comfortable and has the best energy. I refuse to go anyplace else ever again honestly. The entire staff is very friendly, great customer service experience and the products they use are good products, in general, you wont leave unhappy you will be completely satisfied, I sure am.

Shaniqua is amazing! I was referred by a friend who said she is "the best at blonde hair in the city" so I came just before my wedding and have been so happy with the results. Extremely knowledgable and had great recs for upkeep!

SONADA for highlighting is BEYOND AMAZING! A real pro and really cared about not damaging my hair. She painstakingly gave me great highlights for my over processed badly damaged blonde hair - correcting a botched job from a top / fancy high priced NYC salon! SONADA is so talented and really sweet. She really knows her stuff and was able to work around all the damage and breakage using a gentle formula that didnt hurt my hair. She is BY FAR THE BEST and most talented professional colorist I've ever used in 30 years of getting highlights! You will not be disappointed! AS a first time customer she treated me like a VIP - I was so touched by her willingness to help me and squeeze me into her busy schedule.

Jennifer the owner and the entire staff are nice, amazing and super classy. They really care and go all out for their clients. You cant go wrong with anyone for haircut or color - they are all amazing! SONADA stole the show for me today and saved me - restoring my look and making me presentable again!

Have been here once before, wasn’t going to say anything but just had my second really negative encounter with staff here. The last time I went to go get a haircut and the hairdresser would not stop talking about how I needed to make a highlight appointment because mine were grown out… definitely not worth the mediocre, over-priced haircut to be told that my hair color looks bad for about an hour. Then was supposed to get a treatment done today, unfortunately I am a physician and can get called in to cover other sick physicians at essentially any time. So I call today to cancel the appointment that I made last night (not as if I have been blocking off a stylists schedule for weeks), and was greeted with an incredibly condescending receptionist who lectured me about “wasting peoples time” and how I should pay a 50% cancellation fee (that she didn’t bother to tell me about last night when I booked). Explained I was a doctor and got called in so it’s not within my control, apparently this place isn’t healthcare-worker friendly because she continued to lecture me about how I was being “rude” for having to go in to work on my day off to take care of sick patients (again, I booked less than 24 hours ago and she did NOT mention a cancellation fee). Have not been treated like this by other salons and will DEFINITELY not be going back for their overpriced services.

I would highly recommend going to Santa! She was a sweetheart, she colored and cut my hair! I was very nervous about it at first but she made me feel very comfortable and throughout the process she kept asking me for my reassurance! I ended up loving my hair!

Veronica did an absolutely incredible job! I felt like a movie star walking out of the salon! She worked with me and made sure she was giving me exactly what I wanted from the highlights to the cut! My hair has literally never looked better!

I decided to start coloring my hair and booked an appointment to see Crispin. He is extremely personable and friendly and made me feel comfortable as this was my first visit to any salon since before the quarantine. I was greeted with the best energy from the moment I walked in the door until the moment I left. And, Crispin also gave me the exact color I wanted to achieve, a beautiful chestnut brown, for my birthday so he definitely has a loyal client for life! Thank you so much Crispin for being awesome! I got an amazing pixie cut last October with Maria, at the location on 85th st. She was very kind, caring, and professional. It was my first time having a drastic haircut like that, and she effectively calmed me down and answered all my questions. She even took the time to explain to me how to care for my new haircut, and the best way to keep my hair healthy in general. She made me feel like family, and I left the salon with a giant smile on my face. I highly recommend, Maria, she definitely knows hair and her customer service is above and beyond.

Sonada is the bomb. She is the best hairstylist on the upper west. Very professional, she has a very good eye for ar, t she mixed the colors for my hair and made a big transition to my mundane hair color. Shes 5 Star.shes my favorite of all time.

I was neutral at best with this salon for several months (convenient location from my apartment) - having gone from overgrown black roots to platinum blonde hair. The salon texted me almost three weeks early to set up a regular appointment for a root touch-up. I was told the woman that does my hair was going on maternity leave, so I just trusted her judgment because she was supposed to be the ”professional. ”

I took a shower after my hair appointment and noticed a significant amount of my hair began to fall out as well as breakage. It was frightening how much hair I had lost (see attached images). I continued to lose this crazy amount of hair (shown in the attached images), for the next month - EVERY SINGLE TIME I WASHED MY HAIR. My appointment was in February 2020. Six months later and after this horrific, expensive, and scarring experience, I can say that my hair is starting to grow and looks somewhat healthy.

I experienced hair loss at my hairline as well. I thought I was going to go bald permanently (see attached images) and have been so anxious and stressed over this horrific experience. I'm aware of the chance of hair loss with the use of bleach, but when a third of my hair was lost, I called for an answer. I had the personal cell phone number of the owner, Jennifer, because she wanted to hire my company for a project. I emailed, called, and texted her, and she never helped me in any way or even attempted to fix her employee’s disgusting negligence.

I paid almost $400 for the worst salon experience and service of my life and never received a refund. I am angrier than ever and won't stop until I get an answer from Salon West.

Crispin is very personable and knowledgeable about curly hair. He makes you feel at home and answers all your questions with patience and respect. He’s great.
