Absolute garbage. I make an appointment, they call me at the time of the appointment to cancel, 3 times in a row now. Why even take the on location appointments if you cant ever handle them.

The customer service rep actually made a mistake and made my appointment at Safelite in Farmingdale. I was a little apprehensive based on the reviews online. Far from it. The staff was very professional and respectful. I dropped my car off at 10 a.m, and by 11: 26, I received a call that it was ready. No issues. Thank you to the staff at Farmingdale Safelite.

Made an appointment for my Jeep wrangler. Came in early. They honestly finished with my Jeep in about 35 minutes which surprised me. It’s been about a week and so far no complaints. I didn’t ask for oem glass I got the aftermarket which I was fine with. Honestly didn’t have any issues with this place. Would recommend checking it out.

This location is horrible. I would recommend going somewhere else. I had to have two car windows replaced. They came to my house three times and all three times they said they have the wrong window size. They were supposed to call me when they got the right size window but I never received a call from them. I had to call them and every time I called them they claimed they weren’t able to get the parts to fixed the window. The only reason I went to this shop was because this was where my insurance company told me to get the windows fixed. I had been waiting for them to fix my windows for almost a month. I decided I couldn’t wait any Longer so I went to another glass place who ordered all the parts and came the next day to fix it. DONOT go to this location. They do not know what they’re doing and they are liars.

Horrible company Ins.gave me this company to use for broken windshield made appointment for between 8: 30am 1: 30pm at 1: 35 I was told 45 more minutes at 3: 25 45 more minutes at 4: 30 manager told me tech spoke to me that never happened he than went on to tell me they weren't coming at all do yourself a favor go to any other company but this one aim not saying all Satellite establishments are run like the one in Westbury NY but this one is terrible

Avoid at all costs. The assistant store manger was so rude. They installed the incorrect windshield and she kept screaming it’s the oem yelled at me to leave the store. BTW if you enter the vin for a car only the exact part will come up. No effort to problem solve. I can’t warn people enough. Terrible experience and time waisted.

Despite the bad reviews this safelite westbury branch have gotten, I still went in and gave them a try since they’re the closest one to my place. As soon as I pulled in for the first time, this guy named Cory (sporting dreads) yelled at me and gave me some attitude just to let me know that I can’t park in that specific spot where I stand. I mean he could’ve just approached me and told me that in a professional manner, so I as a first time customer in this particular branch, could’ve complied without hesitation. Because of that rude interaction, I decided to cancel since he might do something stupid to my car due to his attitude towards me and I no longer feel welcomed in this place. That guy needs to manage his temperament really seriously. He pretty much asserted that he hates what he does. Really bad customer service. Won’t recommend this particular safelite branch to anyone.

I don’t know how to explain service is not on Time also staff did not tell you the truth top of that if you ask questions staff did not answer properly and they tell you you are rude with staff. I drop my car 12/27/22 morning 10am they told me it’s take 3 hours. Give my ph no to call me but they call my wife and say because of technician is not coming so car will be ready next day. Call net day morning again and they told ne car will be ready at 1.00pm I went at 1.30pm but car was not ready really upset. Don’t know what to do.

Safelite in Westbury was a huge help today. I came in with a shattered back windshield and the kind and patient lady at the front desk took care everything. Everything was so quick and easy because of her.

I would give this place a NO STARS. SCAM JOB - they replaced my FORD F-350 BACK WINDSHIELD with a ** AFTER MARKET PIECE OF GLASS *** which was super thin and the automatic sliding window is HALF THE SIZE! That’s why Geico insurance company uses them to make sure they provide the work at the lowest cost! The glass is trash and they even scratches the frame around the glass area with a huge gash behind the glass! I called them and said why did you put an aftermarket piece of glass on my $90k truck and they said “oh well you didn’t ask for the OEM” I said what does that mean - ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURE. I said maybe if you would have offered it I would have accepted it! Bunch scammers - only plus was it was free of charge and covered under insurance but the glass is trash compare to the thick beautiful piece I had prior.

One of the worst experience you can have!

Last month my insurance company sent me for windshield repair to safelite. I dropped of the car and took an Uber back to work 30 minutes later I get a call that we don’t have a part the car needs and to please come back. I understood things happen went back and was told as soon as we get the part we will schedule an appointment

Got an appointment for 2 weeks later which was canceled due to a communication error ok so we rescheduled

Now I go back in this past Tuesday drop of the car and took an Uber back to work only to get a call again that we are now missing another part. I mean really? Go back again they promise as soon as the part comes in we you will be priority.

Part comes in on Wednesday we get a call to come on Saturday (this is priority) I call the safelite local office requesting to make an earlier appointment. Saturday is a tough day for me the person says come in Friday around 2: 30

Today Friday I get to safelite and the manager says sorry we don’t have an appointment on record. Come back tomorrow

I said I need it done today as I was promised ne refused to do it as a matter of fact he refused to talk with me once I told him I will go public with what he has done

Really?

Now I call safelite national office I had one request let me record my transaction with the shop when I go tomorrow so that I have Proof of everything that happens and that they can’t lie to me again. Safelite put me on hold for 30 minutes then hung up. I called again she said sorry that shop is closed if the manager refuses your request we will cancel your appointment for tomorrow.

In the mean time beside the windshield damage already there. Safelite pulled of a molding from the side earlier in the week so have to drive around with a broken windshield which is not even installed properly.

The only reason why I have to go back is that it’s covered under my insurance. Moving forward if the insurance company doesn’t have other options I will have to change the insurance company.

Summary: installed wrong windsheild, damaged my car, left incomplete job, put my safety at risk, refused to take responsibility

Got my windshield on my 2019 Rav4 replaced at the Westbury location in May 2022 and noticed the automatic rain sensor wasn't working a few days after leaving the lot. I informed the manager, Chris, and he ordered the part free of charge. Fast forward to late June 2022 when I went to the shop to get the rain sensor "replaced". I sat there for 2 hours, constantly being told "we do not know what is going on, we have to recalibrate the car, " "the recalibration isn't working, we have to contact the dealer, " "all the lights on your dashboard are lit up and you have to go to the dealer. " Chris, the manager, assured me that he will cover the expenses at the dealer. Before I drove off the lot I asked, is the car safe to drive and are the safety features working? I was told "yes. " That was a LIE - safety features were not working. The car also didnt feel right while driving. All the lights on my dashboard were on.

I went to my Toyota dealer where I was told the fuse is blown and they will have to take apart my car to assess the issue, and possibly replace the harness. Big deal, big money. Chris then refused to take responsibility and says the problem was a pre-existing issue. So why not inform me of the issues before doing work on the car? They had multiple opportunities to tell me before they made the issue worse. Gina (another manager) even called me rude over e-mail. I never even spoke to her.

I had to get my insurance company involved and Toyota figured out the issue. So it turns out that the windshield that Westbury Safelite put on my car was not the correct windsheid for the car model and was installed INCORRECTLY. When Safelite installed the windsheild the technician MOVED my car's fuse box to make the windsheild fit (causing those "pre-existing issues"). The windsheild that Safelite installed was NOT even compatible with a rain sensor - so why did they have me wait hours to "get it fixed? " I guess that's a mystery that will never be solved. But what was solved (not by safelite) was how UNSAFE this situation was and how the management at Westbury Safelite failed to take responsibility or apologize for their NEGLIGENCE for putting my safety at risk

I had my windshield replaced on my 2021 Dodge Ram, covered by insurance. The shop did an excellent job. Everything looks perfect. Very happy with the service. I would highly recommend this shop for any glass repair / replacement service. Thank you to all employees at Safelite Westbury

Windshield replacement secondary to crack; through gieco. Very professional and speedy. Took less than an hour- lexus 450h- incl calibration.stickers intact, ezpass attachment included.front dash cam mount reattached. Very happy

Arranged to bring my car in for a windshield replacement. Gina advised that they couldn't do the replacement because a screw was stripped and advised me to bring the car to the dealership. She also mentioned that they "didn't want to do any more damage to the car". When my husband picked up the car the tech made no mention of the "damage" but upon entering it was obvious that they had damaged the rear view mirror. The tech told my husband to get the part on Ebay. He had not intention of informing my husband and was ready to have him take the car with the rear view mirror dangling from the windshield. We contacted Gina the following day and she agreed to do the necessary repair to the mirror. We never heard from her again. I made repeated calls to the shop and finally contact Craig at the Great Neck office who made the initial appointment. He advised that he texted her and told her to contact us. We never heard a word. I finally contacted my insurance carrier and advised them of the issue. They sent me to another auto shop (not Safelite) and after a couple of hours on the phone agreed to pay for the repair and go after Safelite for the cost of the damages. It should be noted that the insurance company reached out to Gina and she gave a very different account of what had transpired. This shop is unprofessional, unresponsive and uncaring. I would not trust them to change a light bulb in a lamp.

This place is the best. It's a trustworthy establishment. Willing to help a person in need. My driver's side window suddenly stopped working and they id a prediagnosis and temporarily fixed it at no cost. I'm grateful my car won't get wet if it rains. I was supposed to receive a callback confirming the part availability and the cost but that's a small detail. I can follow-up.

Before I go on my rant I must start by saying the staff I dealt with were very nice and helpful. My experience here was terrible but it could have been a lot worse if the staff was not nice and willing to fix their mistakes.

I needed my windshield replaced, I was able to drop my car off a few days after so that was cool. They did my window replacement and my wife picked up the car the same day. We live a few mins from this location so she did not notice anything. That night there was a storm and in the morning I noticed a lot of water in my car. As I was driving and it was still some light rain and I noticed my automatic wipers were not working, along with that when I went past 40 MPH there was a lot of wind noise coming from the windshield. That day on my way home I decided to stop by the store and the people there took my car in. They said a gasket was not properly tucked in and that caused the water and wind noise. They quickly fixed that for me but while they were doing that the rain sensor broke, but they ordered a new one for me with no hassle. Now I just had to wait for the part to come in and they would put it back in. A few days went past and the water leaks stopped but the wind noise was still there, to be fair it was a lot less than before but you can still hear it over med volume music. I then noticed that my lane departure sensors have also been messed up, I could drive in the middle of a lane and the sensors would not go off. At this point, they decided to redo the whole windshield under warranty. I then had to drop my car off again and they did the replacement again.very annoyed

ok, now the second attempt at replacing the windshield. Same as the first time I dropped my car off and they were able to get it back to me the same day. This time I picked up the car and so far everything seems normal.hopefully, it stays this way.overall I was disappointed in the work but staff was nice.it would have been nice if they threw in some free wipers for my trouble but o well.

Set up an appt for a tech to come to my home to replace my windshield. In the afternoon, I called to check where tech was and was told I was next. I didn’t hear from the tech until 6: 30, an hour after the close of the window period. I was heading out so had to reschedule. I rescheduled for today and they no showed again. Called and spoke to a Manager, Gina, who refused to get me on the schedule for the next day. She didn’t care at all and said I had to wait until the next week. She then hung up on me. It was totally unacceptable. I will never use this company again. I called back to speak with her supervisor and have yet to get a call back.

Safe lite Westbury scheduled appointment 3 times. 1st time cancel because employee didn’t show up, 2 nd time called at last minute to cancel. Spoke to manager and customer service, both promise to fix my windshield glass next to day. 3rd time no one show up and not even rescheduled. Waste of my 3 days waiting for them. Such a bad customer service. I wish, I can give the zero rating!

I contacted Safelite via their website to replace my windshield. It was bit of a faff with a few stops and starts to the insurance carrier workflow.

The "technician" showed up on time, and that's about the best I have to say about him.

Prior to his arrival, I had a Jeep with about 10K miles and not a scratch or a dent on it. After the "tech" left it had paint chipped off in two places and black adhesive dribbled on it here and there.

The "tech" also didn't update the job in their system, as he finished rather quickly (about 25 minutes) but updated the status to "job complete" about an hour later. He was supposed to leave a receipt and a brochure listing the "safe drive away time", but didn't even do that. He himself left very quickly without even notifying me that the job was done, so I didn't inspect the vehicle until after he left.

BTW - This is a minor thing, but in the process of "sawing" through the old adhesive, he braced himself with his dirty shoe on the front quarter panel. It left a print, but no dent. Just didn't strike me as professional or terribly caring about the condition of my vehicle.

One problem with Safelite's internet ordering process is that it's not clear which franchisee is actually doing the job. It's listed on the receipt afterwards (which I didn't receive - though later I realized I could access an electronic copy), but regardless the tech didn't update the job to "complete" status right away which would have caused the electronic receipt to be issued, and so I had no idea who was to blame for the shoddy work when I went out to inspect it.

Once it was marked as complete, I was able to "report an issue" on their website, which only causes another appointment to be scheduled. So I had another tech come just to tell him the story and have him tell his boss. (This was before I even found the receipt and realized that it gave the franchisee location.) That was a waste of everyone's time.

There's no way to contact corporate that I could find, and the Safelite website has its share of bugs.

My wife used this location previously and her windshield leaked after replacement. They did come out and fix it, but fool me twice shame on me I guess.

PS - I almost forgot, but the tech also removed my inspection sticker in such a way that it displayed "VOID" across the whole thing, so I had to rush to get an inspection afterwards. He might have mentioned this (or anything whatsoever) before leaving with his tail likely between his legs.

Windshield replacement good so far. If your vehicle is equipped with an (ADAS) or safety equipment it must be recalibrated after the windshield is replaced. Go to YouTube Safelite channel on the proper static recalibration for ADAS and compare it to the calibration you receive for your vehicle if you go to them. Not remotely close. The initial receipt I was given stated nothing about my SUV was recalibrated and I had to request it. I was then given a printout stating my car was recalibrated with a one year warranty. Really?

I don't even have a thought to put down even one star. I am very disappointed and frustrated not to say angry. I waited all day finally called Geico to find out that there is a shortage on glass. They cancelled my appointment without calling me to let me know. I was due for an inspection the next few days. Someone could have had the decency to give me a phone call not just an email and the email that they did send was the night before at about 9: 30 and it wasn't from Safelite it was from probably a technician so I never even opened it or thought to look at it. They don't pick up the phone when I call it's impossible to speak to someone. I must have tried calling them a dozen times.

4 weeks to get a windshield glass and no follow through when they didn’t let me know when I was waiting for them day of appointment. Had to call literally everyday to make sure it was installed

I want to thank Chris and the entire Safelite Westbury team. Everybody was professional and friendly, the waiting room was spacious and they replaced and recalibrated my windshield efficiently. It was a 5 star experience.

Quick service even if short staffed. Friendly. Price was good. Just wished they had more slots. Had to wait a week. Almost perfect otherwise. Repair worked same day. No issues.

The absolute worst company on Long Island to use. $400 to repair a windshield as an "early bird appointment" (suuposed to be first Appt of the day) never showed up. Was told they're 20 min away at 8 am, was told they're 5 min away at 9am, at 10 am they told me there was a glitch in their system & the driver was now at the job AFTER mine. He wouldn't be here for another hour or so. Canceled the Appt altogether. Absolute horrific business that can't even create schedules properly. Stay AWAY from this company if you need your work done in a timely manner. If you don't care about over-paying & wasting hours of your day, have fun. But there are WAY better businesses to use than these tools out here.

I made an appointment last week to have my windshield replaced. I received a telephone call, two e-mails and two text messages confirming the appointment. I drove to the Westbury location, thirty minutes from home and arrived to be told that my windshield was never delivered to the store. They also told me that since the vendor they use is from out of state, they had no idea when the window would arrive. I find the service to be completely unacceptable. There is zero accountability and no communication between the vendor, the store and the customer. Why would you e-mail someone to come in without first checking your inventory? Don’t you have protocols in place? This is not a professional operation. I will be contacting corporate in regards.

Left interior piece out of rear door, and DOOR DOES NOT OPEN after glass replacement. No support line open during Covid. Working with Progressive to take to dealership to repair. Would never take my truck back to this place. Had all the time in the world to do it right and I even said that - And yet, the dude didn't even put the door back together correctly. Just wow.

My windshield was broken by a branch in the middle of a bad storm in April. I called Safelite in a panic and it was super easy. I was able to do everything online- and they even connected with my insurance. I was scheduled to have someone come to my house to fix the windshield. Because it ended up raining on the day of my appointment, I was brought it into the center in Westbury. Jonathan kept in touch with me the entire time and did a great job fixing my window. I truly appreciate everyone working at this location, especially during a pandemic!

My car was broken into in the beginning of February. I live close by and was taking care of all of the necessary things to have my car repaired. With only 10 minutes until closing, I made an appointment for my window glass to be changed in Yonkers for the next business day. I was told I can go to any Safelite store to have a temporary cover be put on. I thought sheesh I only have 10 minutes to get to the Westbury store and they literally will be closing when I get there. Well, I took my chances. When I arrived an African-American employee with eyeglasses (I’m sorry I forgot his name) saw me and said how can we help you? I told him what I needed, and apologized for coming so late. He kindly said that he and his team would be glad to help me. With no hesitation, I was asked to leave my car in the garage, and offered coffee in the lobby and to have a seat and that everything will be ok. My car was done within 10 minutes, with a temporary cover that would allow me to safely drive me car to their Yonkers location. As a young woman who endured so much with the vandalism and robbery of my personal items and space, it was comforting to see people still care in this world! Thank you so much Safelite for your help!
