HUGE, venomous looking spiders in every single bathroom stall. The wood they force you to use because you can't bring wood from 50 miles away is softwood pine and won't burn properly, and their fireplace thingies are blocked off on one side, so with the wind blowing smoke into our campsite they were unusable.

Nice camping experience. Quiet, lots of stars, loons talking all night. Was peaceful. Well kept and clean.
26 August 2023 6:27
Amazing! We will be back next year. We fell in love. The ice cream truck and firewood that drives past for campsite delivery is pretty great!

Campsites are terrific, but the shower house in Rollins needs some attention. When we first arrived three out of ten showers in the ladies portion were broken and none of the showers were hot for more than a minute or two. We camped here for the two weeks leading up to Labor Day 2023.

Rollins is beautiful, peaceful camping. No electric or septic hook ups, and very little cell phone service. All of these are a plus for our digital light camping trip. Waterfront sites, ice, firewood and ice cream trucks make the rounds daily, allowing you to stay onsite your entire stay. It is a 20 minute drive back to public roads from Rollins.

Great location for the outdoor camping with spectacular views. Bathrooms have flush toilets with soap and a sink. A shower house is quite a distance to walk to but is available. The road to get to the campsites is also used to walk and bike on. They have a rental place to get something to get out on the lake. Would have given 5 stars but I thought the 15 mph speed limit was too high when the road is shared with pedestrians and there are blind curves. We stayed in site 161 and for some reason that evening the wind from sites 140-170 by the lake was cold and miserable. We grabbed a site with a great view and regretted it. The wind was so strong we couldn't keep a fire going. We walked through the entire campground and wished we would have taken a site that was more protected so we could enjoy our stay. Next time I guess.

Definitely has become one of my favorite places to go camping. The on water sites with a sand beach are the newly updated bathroom around the 130-140 sites is sooooo nice.
05 June 2023 18:13
Really nice campground, we were at site A79 and the whole A loop is nice with decent privacy for a public campground. We had a pickup and 26’ travel trailer on the site.
24 November 2022 23:54
Beautiful campground but Ranger allowed a large group of rowdy campers to overrun the place. Told us we "were on our own. " Had to leave for our safety. Pretty certain he got paid off by the partyers.
17 November 2022 22:29
Great campground if you are into more of a real camping experience. No water or electric hookup. Most sites are waterfront which is beautiful and convenient if you like kayaking. Beautiful sunsets and lots of water and islands to explore.
13 October 2022 17:42
Staff is very friendly and helpful! Very well maintained, bathrooms and showers were very clean! The DEC officer that is stationed there also let us know when severe weather was expected! Can’t wait till we can go back!

Pros:
It's beautiful, clean, the water is wonderful for padding, family friendly, and there are many mountains to hike in that area.

Cons:
You have to drive through Fish Creek yo get to it. If you get one of the few sites without water access, getting into the water is considerably more difficult. The man who checked us in there year spent an extra two to three minutes reiterating rules surrounding dogs specifically telling us how they have had problems with dog owners in the last month. Ironically, about 5 sites down from us a dog owner allowed thier dog to bark excessively throughout our five day stay.

Great stay, weather didn't really cooperate, but did a hike up Mt. Baker and really enjoyed it.
08 October 2021 8:21
Do your research and show up with the right expectations. The water is delightful, and the paddling is superb. But the campsites are densely packed next to each other, so there's not much privacy. And I can't imagine getting a site across the road from the lake. Why bother?
01 October 2021 12:09
Yes! Dogs were so happy, ice cream truck and wood truck. People are friendly too all cultures, love it!
20 September 2021 6:23
Accommodating staff, hot showers, beautiful view. My only complaint is that you’re a little close to your neighbors but thats to be expected.
17 November 2020 8:38
We enjoyed camping at Rollins Pond CG while hiking in the area. Surprisingly quiet for the size. Convenient dump station for both Rollins and Fish. The drive in was a little long but that's probably why it's quiet!
14 November 2020 4:39
We had a blast. Gorgeous location. Plenty of bathrooms spread out. Always something to do. Love love love the waterfront camping!
18 October 2020 6:55
Booth staff is absolutely amazing, campground is well kept and a peaceful experience. Highly recommend if you are looking for a relaxing vacation!
17 October 2020 5:54
Traveled over 125 miles to get here. Campsite not as described or pictured. Could not put the camper into the site due to uneven ground too narrow of road, obstacles and rude drivers. They would not give us a more suitable site. We left and vowed to NEVER return
14 October 2020 19:24
Great campground! Our first trip up to this area in ADK. Visited the week before Labor Day and arrived on a Monday, after some nice spots opened up. I can see how waterfront sites book up early, the view is amazing! The ice and firewood trucks that drive through the campground is awesome — you never have to leave! Such a pleasure to launch your boat at your site. Water was warm and a pleasure to paddle on. Need to do some more research on loops we can paddle there. Had no idea how connected all small ponds are in the area. Will definitely be back.
03 October 2020 23:13
The beauty of this place is stunning. If you like true Adirondack tranquility, there are numerous scenic paddles and few motorboats. The campsites are good size and spaced well. However, the bathrooms and showers are dated and in need of repair.
27 September 2020 10:28
Camping old school, no hookups. Big sites, mostly all lake front. You can launch conoes or kayaks from your site. Old growth forest, simply beautiful. Ice and wood truck runs daily. Quiet. Clean restrooms, no hot water except at the shower station. Nice shower.
21 September 2020 9:29
Beautiful place! Great campgrounds, beautiful waters! Enjoyed kayaking, hiking, and overall amazing trip!
20 September 2020 16:33
This is THE campground of all campgrounds. Most of the sites are great and isolated with trees surrounding them. The sites on the water are perfection. Having your own little private beach and views when the weather is nice sets for the perfect camping trip.
16 September 2020 6:59
Great campsites, clean, and clear water. Also has good fishing and fantastic sunsets, especially at water sites.
05 September 2020 13:01
Overall, good. Advertised canoes for rent but did not have them. Also, the garbage place, which was supposed to open at 8, was still closed at 8: 15.
27 August 2020 4:12
Best campground I have stayed at on the east coast! No showers close to the sites, but that's okay because most sites are on the lake. Site 242 was lovely, but if we could do it again we would choose 240 or 239. The water access was more appealing. Ours had a very small path and alot of Lily pads. Only slightly annoying thing is the ride in/out. 15mph through Rollins and then fish Creek campground but most of the time you head out for the day anyway so it's no big deal. Firewood truck and ice truck come around about every other day so that's helpful.
26 August 2020 4:09
We have a pop up camper no service's at RollinsPond.we used a small generator to keep our stuff charged.hot showers.restrooms are near by.we have camped at Fish Creek and here over the years.lots of boating/kayaking.the Saranac lakes are near.i say its more rustic.if you the time to visit please do.

The camp ground itself is beautiful. The sites all have amazing views. However, if you book your site saying its waterfront it might not be what you think. Many are "waterfront" however they arent really swimable. They are swampy and lily pads. Also the shower and bathroom facilities are a bit dated. At times they don't work the greatest but the staff is very good and fixing things. If you have never been I highly recommend Rollins pond and Fish creek. It is a camping experience like no other.

Absolutely wonderful. The best experience I've had in an Adirondack campground. The sites are all fairly well separated and mostly spacious. Most will easily accommodate at least a pop-up camper. We've been coming here for almost 20 years and have stayed at probably a dozen different sites and rarely had a bad one.

The bathrooms (such as they are, I mean it's a campground) are always close by. Water is also nearby.

The water sites usually have some small beach (some large beaches with like actual sand) and the water is mostly warm and shallow. A really great place for kids.

The islands on the lake are fun to explore, and you can easily go up to other lakes for a longer paddling excursion. The pond is mostly quiet with an occasional small motor boat, but mostly kayaks and canoes.

If you want a site, you really need to book well in advance. And I mean like a year in advance. This is a popular place and for good reason.

The attached photosphere is at site 126.

Loved it! Only negative is that it's about a 15-20 minute drive into it from the entrance, but it's well worth it! Our site was right on the pond, it was clean and enough trees around to separate us from our neighbors. Can't wait to go back!
28 September 2019 5:41
Surprisingly quiet for so many campers. Great views. Nice roads for bike riding with a few small hills.
27 September 2019 1:19
Campground is really nice. However, the campground policies are really bad and unfair. We booked a site online and it wasn’t on the water as stated or a site that was flat which we needed for our truck camper (the DEC site is really deceptive). They allowed us to switch to a much better site for 2 days but then claimed there were no other sites on the water for the remainder of the days that we wanted. The problem with this. There were SEVERAL sites that were vacant for at least 3 days of us being there. The policy on the brochure says in black and white writing that if left vacated after the first night, a site can be given to someone else. Well, we were told that they hold the sites regardless to give people the benefit of the doubt if, and I quote, “they get a flat tire and can’t get here for 3+ days. ” REALLY? !? !? This was what the caretaker said. I was also told they don’t follow that policy. Huh? !? !? This doesn’t make sense! I am pretty sure the people at check-in didn’t want to be too inconvenienced. Beware that they don’t follow policies.

Been camping here for years. True Adirondack beauty. Only disappointment this year was to see motor boats on this pond. There are so many other lakes for that. This one should be kept quiet like so many of us want when getting away to camp.
06 September 2019 9:19
This is has to be some of the best campsites but I've encountered in the Adirondacks. Most of the campsites have their own beaches that open to the pond itself so there's plenty of time for playing in the water and other Canoe and kayak type things. All of the sites were well maintained except for a couple that were closed for remodeling. Water speak it's were plentiful and the bathrooms are evenly spaced so you didn't have to walk too far in order to get to one. Can't wait to come again next year!

Huge campground great for biking! You have to drive through Fish Creek campground in order to reach Rollins Pond campground and at 15 mph it took 30-40 minutes just to exit the place. The water is clear and shallow at the shore line, great for kids! There's also islands to explore! There's a local store nearby you can get everything you need at. An ice cream truck drives through every evening. The ice truck drives through every morning and one in a while a guy renting canoe equipment comes around. You can also buy firewood at the main entrance of the campground. Not the greatest place for fishing though, for the first time in a long time my husband didn't catch anything. My only complaint is that the sites are small, close to the road and on top of each other. Our friend didn't have trouble with his huge camper on his water side site but our woods side site could just barely fit our pop up and we had to push it in ourselves to make it fit. Very little flat area. We were happy the sites around us weren't occupied. There's lots to do nearby as well. The Wild Center is close. Village of Saranac and Lake Placid are less than an hour away too. We'll be going back again, hopefully with sites on the water.

Had an amazing time camping at Rollins Pond. We had great weather and the facilities were always clean. The prices for wood within the park were a bit steep but you could always drive in to town if interested in cheaper wood. I hope to come back soon!
16 August 2019 9:35
Best week I have had up here in the last 10 years! Rained 1 time, warm days and cool evenings and of course icecream!
23 July 2019 20:27
Excellent clean and quiet campground. No hookups so prepare for running on bare minimums with power and water. Most of the sites are shady so solar will be hit and miss. Most sites are right on the water for kayaking and fishing. Just a great quiet get away spot in NY!
15 July 2019 4:53
Rollins Pond Campground is a medium size non-electric park set around the water in Adirondacks, New York State, US.
With it is friendly, welcoming staff the time spent there is always pleasant.
05 July 2019 17:20
The restrooms were old but clean and servicable. Not very busy in early June. Many scenic lakeside sites. A great option if you enjoy paddling or fishing. We caught some nice bass. They are working on campsite upgrades including new fireplaces.
06 June 2019 5:51
A beautiful campground far off the beaten path. Relatively quiet, I agree with other comments about those with generators missing the mark about camping. Bring ALL the insect repellent with ALL the DEET! The mosquitoes weren't bad, but biting flies are no joke when they come out. Do yourself a favor, sacrifice a little comfort and go with lightweight long sleeves and pants in lieu of shorts and t-shirts
02 June 2019 21:40
This is a great campground. We stayed right on the pond. We were able to catch fish right from our campsite and got to see a family of loons hang around and make thier commute to go get food each morning. The staff at the gate we're super friendly. The bathrooms we're clean and the showerhouse was very clean as well. We did have a visit from a friendly racoon during the night but he left as soon as the flashlight was in him. We did go on blackflys season so that was rough but all part of staying right on the pond.

Opens earlier. Nice before summer crowds. They dont tell you the bath house doesn't open until memorial day weekend. The lake is cold mid may!
