Rock Castle Lake George

Been going to lake george for about 5 years now and have stayed at a few different places. This one was probably my least favorite. The property looked nice and well maintained on the outside but the cabin we were in really needed to be updated. When we checked in, the owner seemed annoyed that he had to stop what he was doing to help us get checked in. That rubbed us the wrong way. Probably a 5 minute drive to get downtown so the location was decent but if you are looking to walk downtown, this isn't your place.

Great services, family and friendly oriented. Peaceful area, this is a great getaway for everyone. Close to the very heart town of Lake George. Canada Street

Owner was extremely nice and helpful! Place is very outdated. Shower was small, cabin had a musty smell.

Went with my family last week. The room was okay. There was a broken picture frame and it was slanted, it wasn't the prettiest thing to look at but other than that the room was just okay. Staff was friendly, and the place has a lot of amenities for you and your family to do.

Great, very affordable, rustic resort. The owner is a very nice and kind man who runs a clean hotel in a beautiful location. Cabins are small but equipped like a home with full kitchen and accessories. It was our second stay in as many years, and we'll be back.

We loved our stay at Rock Castle! This is a very family friendly place. The owners were so friendly and kind and made us feel at home. There were a lot of games and activities for the whole family to enjoy and the location was beautiful. Very close to down town, but far enough away to have peace and quiet! Rooms are little dated but very clean.

This place far exceeded my expectations. I took my family there and we left already wanting to come back. The place was very clean, plenty of activities for the kids to do. Basketball hoop, Volleyball net, Cornhole, Fire pits to start fires, plenty of space for kids to run around and play. AC was great. Great location next to the village. The pool was very clean and well maintained. Also a convenient store across street. The owner made sure we had everything we needed and went out of his way to make sure we were all yappy. Especially our kids. I recommend this place for anybody wanting to come and have a great experience. We will be back!

The blankets were full of cum when I asked for different bedding they claimed to not have any extra wouldn’t recommend place is worse than jail

Perfect place if your not planning on staying in your room all day. Beautiful grounds kind and nice owners deli across the street for an added bonus. Great location between Bolton Landing and Lake George. Would definitely stay again.

My wife, teenage son, and I stayed for 4 days in one of their cabins. We found it quite comfortable. My son enjoyed his loft bedroom. The hosts were very friendly, hospitable, and gracious. We didn't find any tea in our kitchen so our host Elias brought over about 6 boxes for us to choose from. We had a lovely chat with him and his helper Jenny around a fire in our last evening.

North Of The Village You Will Find A Ģuaint Little Place Tucked Back In the Woods Away From The Hustle and Bustle Of The Loud Noises You'll Find In Places Closer Inside The Down Town Magic That Has Been Lake George For Many Decades. Rock Castle Is Just That A Castle Of Sorts Made Of Large Stone And Immense history. This Place Offers A Large Landscaped Property With A Pooql, Half Court Basketball, Valley Ball Court And other Lawn Games. For Lodging there Are Many Different Types Of Cabins On The Property as Well As Rooms In the Second And Third Floor Of The Castle Its Self If For Those That enjoy The Thrill Of Sinking Back Into The History Of A Place That Predates the 1900s. Above all The Courtesy and Hospitality extended from The Staff And Owner has Really burnt Positive memories of our ADK trip in New York.

I really enjoyed the tour even though I'm not a huge Star Trek fan. An awesome guide really brought the displays to life!

We had booked a room with 2 beds, to accommodate 3 people through a booking agency (Expedia, trivago, etc. Idk the exact one as my friend booked it) and when we got to Rock Castle resort there was an error. The room that was reserved had only 1 bed and couldn't fit 3 people. The owners helped us out by giving us a cabin at no extra charge. The cabin itself was well maintained, the AC cooled down the whole place, and it was cozy. Some things to advise future potential customers:
1) there was no trash bin except for the bathroom.
2) we couldn't lock the cabin door with the key so we had to lock it from the inside before closing the door.
3) be prepared to drive on grass if you're booking a cabin.
4) bring extra towels for 2+ people
5) bring extra shampoo and soap for extended stay.

My family and I stayed and it was horrible! I only gave one star because you have to. Staff was not friendly and very unclear about their “policy” for our pet. Very disappointed!

Me and my girlfriend recently stayed last weekend and it was wonderful! The owners were amazing and the room itself including the bathroom was super clean and well kept. The atmosphere was very positive and I felt very welcome. The owner went out of his way to come up to our room and helped fix a small problem on our TV, which he did not have to do. Overall I will definitely be staying here again!

Worst place to stay, find bugs and insects from the blankets, everything extra even for towels guest have to pay.

This was hands down the worst place I have ever been to in my life. It would be cleaner and safer to stay inside of a tent. The “cabin” which was more like a shack had a terrible stench the moment we walked in, and the bed had hair all over it. The curtains were even inside out. Do yourself a favor and stay as far away from this dirt hole as possible. Lake George is beautiful, but this place is not. It would be a 0 star if that was an option. Also, the “bunk bed” was a safety hazard and would definitely not pass a building inspection. It was at least 10 feet high, and the ladder was nonexistent, you had to climb yourself up to the top using the janky wood. Overall this place is atrocious.

Friendly owners, quiet property to stay at. Beautiful grounds. I loved staying there and so did my kids! We will be revisiting. Thank you, Rock Castle Lake George!

This is our 5th time staying in Lake George and this was hands down the best place we stayed out. One of our biggest concerns is always cleanliness, that was not a problem here. The room was very clean, no bugs! They also have so many things to do like volleyball, basketball, a game room, a pool. It is central to Lake George and Bolton Landing if you want to get away from to many tourists. They are doing many renovations to the place. We can’t wait to stay here again next summer!

We just left today from this dirty place. FILTHY IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT! Cobwebs are everywhere.broken tiles that cut feet.black mold in bathrooms.outdoor area is dirty.one shower worked good out of 6 cabins rented by my family.never again!

The set up of the cabin was cool, and the staff were friendly. But the cabins are not well maintained. The shower did not work properly, the water barely came out the shower head most of it came out the faucet. Bathroom sink was clogged, drained very slow. The bed was old and felt like sleeping on a sheet of plywood. The bed was made, but full of sand. The cabin was not very clean. This was just one cabin, I can wonder what the rest look like.would not recommend.

We booked our stay at the last minute, Terri was super friendly and accommodating. We needed a place that was dog friendly and we were even able to check in early. During our stay we had car trouble and Mike was incredibly helpful by not only helping us fix the car but also helping us with transportation. We felt very lucky to have stayed at Rock Castle. It was quiet, peaceful, the cabin was comfortable and roomy enough for 2 adults, 2 teenagers, and a dog and we look forward to going back in the fall. The pool was great and the kids liked the gameroom and basketball court.

Mike and Terrie are amazing people. They made my birthday week very special. Our cabin was great and the pool was fun and refreshing. We will definitely be returning.

We stayed here last summer. After travelling around the country for 6 months I will say that I have stayed at some real dumps. That said, this is a nice place to stay, just be prepared to clean the room a bit on your own. The room wasn't gross or anything, it just felt like the cabins needed a thorough and deep clean instead of the basic house keeping that gets done.

I will say that I would be happy staying here again. The staff is great, the pool was clean, and the price during peak dates was still very reasonable.
