The club is kept immaculately clean including the locker rooms and bathrooms. Staff is always friendly and equipment is always maintained. Plenty of parking and conveniently located just off the parkway. Now open 24/7 Making it super convenient to work out early or late.

The Facility is brand spanking new. Nice placement of lockers right outside the lockers for people who want to just pop in and pop out. All new machines and the staff is very attentive keeping the place clean.

The Black Card Member lounge is embarrassingly filthy. The tanning beds are always so gross whenever I go to use them — hair, dust, sand — like they haven’t been tended to, possibly ever. Aren’t you supposed to clean these facilities daily? Or at least wash the floors? There’s a major cleanliness and hygiene issue here. I literally have to spend 5 minutes before my tan just cleaning and disinfecting the place, which is often littered with used paper towels and other people’s trash. Totally neglected, no pride at all. The front doors, glass, and other surfaces at the entrance are constantly filthy too. Also, as if that wasn’t telling enough, the front desk staff have absolutely no business working at a gym — they are overweight, unkempt, poorly presented, rude, and not knowledgeable whatsoever about a gym or anything it has in it. They don’t know anything about the machines or the workout areas or have even vague familiarity of the equipment. They hardly pay attention to the guests, couldn’t be bothered to show new guests around, and overall the lackluster staff really detract from the experience and make the whole place look bad. I brought a guest with me to Planet Fitness and he was astonished, even disgusted, by the caliber of people working there. It’s atrocious. Come on Planet Fitness! Are you just hiring any old hobo off the street to work for you? Why don’t you get people who are: A.) Actually fit and work out themselves once in a while, B.) Actually care about their jobs and welcome guests properly, and C.) Actually clean and maintain the place with some bloody dignity? I know you’re a “judgment free zone” and all that, but the only thing that does is discourage excellence. Seriously — get some standards. Hire better, and pay attention to the attitudes of the people you’re hiring and how they present themselves. Perhaps these should be people who actually care about personal fitness…? Maybe then you’d come off as a gym that actually has a little pride.

I gave 2 stars because your equipment is decent and you’re a good sized gym — but those basic things are not remarkable, they’re expected.

The cleanliness of the gym, the variety of equipment AND the friendly greetings at the entrance are all reasons to keep coming back ️

I love this gym because its super close to me, never overly crowded, people are nice and respectful and its always kept clean.

Clean and well equipped. This location is smaller than most planet fitness locations but it gets the job done.

From womens room to the gym it’s clean, affordable and many machines to choose from variety of TVs sn much more I recommend this gym

Good but NEED TO FIX MASAGE CHAIR NUMBER 1 that’s me and my friends favorite thing to do is go there after work out please don’t make it one of those things that take a year

Plenty of available equipment, facility was super clean. Staff is obviously on top of their game. Will make this my "home" location from now on.

I love planet Fitness because of the availability of equipment and the cleanliness of the facility. Parking is also accessible.

More than enough equipment, new equipment, and very clean. It hasn't been overly crowded the times that I've been.

They claim no contract required but won’t cancel me unless I go in and sign, unable to go in and frustrated, manager on duty extremely rude and suggested I was asking her to commit fraud, not a seasoned manager at all.

Compared to other Planet Fitness locations in this area, Merrick stands out in both convenance and quality. All of the equipment is still brand new which is nice as well.

Great facility with friendly staff and a large variety of equipment not usually found in other PF locations. The gym is open 24 hours during the week and regardless of the time the crowd is never too bad. I've been a member of quite a few planet fitness locations over the years and this one is by far the best. Their machines even count reps for you and have a clock stating how long you are exercising/ resting. Really good tool when trying to implement specific kinds of training into your gym routine.

The place is nice clean and the staff are great people they really do know customer service the music is the best that the only reason why I go cause I feel like I’m at the club best gym ever

This planet fitness in Merrick is clean not over crowded and has a variety of work out equipment. This is my first experience in a gym and I’m very satisfied I came her plan on continuing my work out three to four times a week.

Smaller Location, New Matrix equipment Still wishing for a Stretch cage! Good Staff, close to parkway.

I am so impressed by this planet fitness. It's all so neat and nice. I'll recommend 10/10. Is so spacious, friendly staff, and has many new training equipment that you can choose from. So far the best planet fitness I've ever seen.

I have worked out with the trainer several times since the Merrick location opened. Chris is great. He really knows his stuff. The gym is a little smaller than other locations but has all of the equipment. All of the staff are very friendly, polite, courteous and knowledgeable.

Glad to be back in a gym after two years of Covid. PF is in a perfect location for me. It is very clean. Team members are pleasant and helpful. I’ve frequented at different times of the day (between 10 and 4) and never waited for a machine. I enjoy the 30 minute circuit. Glad PF opened in Merrick.

My largest suggestion is to please get seat coverings for the toilets (?) There isn’t even a vacant spot for them. It was intentional not to provide this layer of protection. Simply unsanitary.

Highly Recommend the massage chairs at this location. Haven’t seen any other PF with these. Very much worth it.

Willing to change rating if toilet covers are provided.

I joined & now my daughter joined! It’s a clean place & it’s close to my home & affordable!

All new and clean equipment but too heavy on the cardio equipment, not enough weight training machines and barbells. No place to put the barbell down between sets except the floor.

Great experience! The classes with Christopher are excellent! Just wish they could switch up the schedule of classes on Wednesdays so I can do the core class! Clean gym

Staff are very professional and courteous. Equipment are well kept. Lots of paper & wipe stations compared to other planet fitness clubs that I have been at. The workout areas are clean. Very convenient by bicycle or car if you live in said area. Folks are very laid back and helpful. I actually got a nail in my car tire it was flat one evening after my workout and a club member helped me out with hesitation. I was praying for a P. F.in Merrick and finally it's here. Great community great staff and awesome place to workout.

Compliments: I appreciate the cleanliness. Regardless of Covid it’s nice to go to a gym without grimy, dusty, dirty equipment. I see workers on multiple occasions emptying trash and not waiting for an overnight cleaner to do so. Staff is nice what little I interact with them. Music isn’t horrible. Decent mix not too much of any one thing. Now my complaints: Hardly anyone observes the rules in the Express Workout Room. More and better and bilingual signage might help. One machine has been broken for a week. Cardio Machines don’t come with instructions. It’s all graphics and a guessing game what button does what. What one button does on one machine it might not do on another machine. I fell on the Climb Mill because I couldn’t figure it out. I’m a little scraped up but okay. Some cardio machines show a five-minute pause button but then the machine shuts down after thirty seconds. Thank you for reading.
