Very nice place, The workers keep everything very clean and are super nice. The only thing Is I wish they would add a Jacobs Ladder and more options for legs/glutes.
Love this place Charlie's ure a good kid. You have everyone looking there best. Understandable Corona is a scary thing, but doing your part and trusting everyone hopefully we'll get threw this. Very clean and respectable.
Great place, staff are kind and welcoming, the gym is clean and almost everyone cleans after using equipments. The Gym has all the equipments one needs. Very organized and encouraging. I love the posts where it says “ no judgment zone”. Subscription is very cheap for all the good stuff the gym has.
No free weights other than dumbbells. Unable to squat, bench, deadlift or anything with a straight bar. Smith machines are not for me. They do have some good rowing machines, lat pull down etc though.
Honestly severely disappointed with how I was treated. I was misinformed what time they closed by a member (they had been closing at different times due to the storms) and then my membership was terminated after I spent the night in the (mysteriously unlocked) gym because not only my car keys but my coat removed from the locker as I had planned to return. It was FREEZING cold that night and I did not want to catch hypothermia. It was made very clear to me when talking to them the staff did not care about my well being despite being a respectful member. They were seriously unreasonable and I honestly think they need to remove the "You belong" sign in their shower. I'm really sad because I actually liked the gym.
Staff is poorly trained in explaining policy and fees. We were members since 2013 and after the pandemic shutdown they did not enforce mask wearing so we put our membership on hold. We were told we needed to stop in to downgrade our membership from black card to basic but not that we would be charged a fee above and beyond our annual membership fee. Our annual membership fee had just renewed and when we said we wanted to cancel completely rather than pay an additional $39, we were told the annual fee was not refundable and were directed to contact corporate customer service who directed us back to the local Ithaca club. The local staff took a message but we never heard back.
They have the most unprofessional management possible and they reprimand lower employees in front of customers for helping cancel memberships as permitted within the contract. Then the management and someone claiming to be the owner that works in the office to the side follow up by being as rude as possible.
Terrible gym. They'll tell you your membership is cancelled and then continue charging you. They took advantage of customers during a global pandemic and resumed everyone's accounts without telling anyone. Their untrained staff lies to customers and management refuses to intervene to clear up misunderstandings. They have horrible customer service too. Definitely rethink your decision to sign up (especially if it's with some sort of promotion, which will come with exorbitant hidden fees and sneaky clauses).
Not a terrible gym as far as they go but be prepared to work out with a LOT of people under 30 who tend to be just a bit self-centered. Very busy pretty much all the time, too.
For a planet fitness it’s great, very busy in the mornings but I don’t usually come into conflict with people when getting to my machines for the day. Kinda small but it gets the job done. Friendly environment and clean.
Pretty bad service to not be able to cancel a membership over the phone in the year 2021 during a pandemic. I moved to a different state and can't go in person, so instead they require me to mail them a handwritten letter with my signature without given free postage? Seems backwards if you ask me. Won't be returning to PF once the pandemic ends.
Fair value, but TERRIBLE customer service. I have been a member of this club for 3+ years. When the pandemic hit, I suspended my membership indefinitely due to health and safety concerns. I have not yet returned to the club due to those same concerns, plus recovering from a car crash. I saw that the club was charging me again so I called. PF said that all membership suspensions were now on a month to month basis pending management approval and that I should have received an email or phone call, so they couldn't refund me. Furthermore, they could not cancel my membership over the phone. Look, the price wasn't bad for what it was during the membership. Not particularly clean-going through the motions but not actually cleaning or paying attention to detail. But, when it comes to customer service, they heavily lean on their crutch: "it was in the contract". "it was in the email". "we called you". No, no you didn't.
Beautiful new equipment, new location, sweet new locker rooms and showers. They take cleanliness and safety serious but maintain their characteristic relaxed atmosphere
This place is good to get a work out that you need. You just have watch your account closely because they will try to take more money then what they charge
So because of COVID the gym was closed on my renew date in April (which I DO NOT WANT TO RENEW) and I look at my bank account today and they already charged me for the month without any notice they were reopening. I had been waiting for April to cancel my subscription or they charge you. How is it my fault you are not open for me to cancel? Your not very caring about the fact that many people are out of work and you just take money why they don’t wish to participate anymore. When I called it’s oh my manager is on break can you call back. Really? Poor customer service.
First off, they have information on websites that states they’re open 24 hours a day. This is not true as they close Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. They also did not give refunds or reduce fees when they changed from being open 24/7 to being open only four nights of the week. Shady.
Secondly, they’ve had months to prepare for reopening but seemingly they did not spend any time making a plan to reopen. They should have reopened on Monday, but they didn’t due to lack of planning.
They’ve charged people monthly fees this whole time, and can’t even reopen on time.
New location is great and actually pretty big as far as square footage goes, but oddly laid out that makes it feel small. Lots of new equipment and new designs of exercise machines that are different enough to keep it fun.
They over-sell memberships rather than focusing on providing a good experience for all customers. Place is always way too crowded. To go to a gym this size and have to wait for a treadmill to become available is ridiculous. Also the general manager doesn’t know how to smile and is just dull and rude all the time.
Very unprofessional. I wanted to cancel my membership because of my frequent travels. They tricked me to freeze the account and I can come back later and money wouldn't be debited during that frozen period. However that wasn't the case and I called three times and they just wouldn't give me a clear answer. Lack of transparency and not friendly. I just canceled the membership for good. Total rip off!
Clean and many many machines. Parking lot is free but tends to be full and had to park farther away and walk in the the dark at 530pm because although there was lighting the lights were not turned on.
I have problem with Planet Fitness on 126th Street and Lenox Avenue they refuse to give me my refund and I had to get a doctor letter letting them know cuz they was study taking money out of my account like I was going there and I was hurt and my doctor did not recommend me to keep continue to go there and I have such a hard time that I had to threaten him to get a lawyer to for them to conversate me back my money so I would not recommend that place to nobody I really don't want to get him a score
Most of the staff have a real chip on their shoulder. Don't do much work except stand at a desk and socialize. It also seems only "certain" individuals will receive a hello and goodbye when coming and going. The ones they would like to sleep with I guess. Judgement free zone? I think not
