Excellent customer service! Attentive and cheerful staff. Incredibly delicious. The interior is so beautiful! Perfect spot for a date night. It is a bit expensive, but worth it.

I had a fantastic and memorable meal at Per Se back around 2016. This time a different experience. In simple terms, not worth the price tag anymore. Only Michelin restaurant where I have left hungry. Came early to have a pre dinner drink and was told to go next door? Really, no cocktails available at Per Se? 2 small bites for Amuse Bouche. Portions are just too small. Bread service was a big miss (1 stale roll, never offered anything else). Had to ask for water at one point. Bathroom had trash on the floor.i am a professional chef/owner and for me sadly the experience just fell short and failed to delivery on cost versus experience. Desserts were fantastic, but I was still hungry to indulge in too much sugar at that point. I still give Per Se 4 stars because Thomas Keller is the master and there were bites of food on this night that in culinary terms were perfection.

I developed ennui during dinner. The extreme lack of creativity in the menu and food offerings delivered in such a stuffy, boring space, easily made this the worst Michelin starred meal I’ve had in my life. Save yourself a thousand dollars on a disaster of a dinner for two.

4 out of 10 courses incorporated Truffles. More than half of the dishes were salty and accompanied with a heavy cream sauce. There was no play on textures or thoughtfulness to the choice of vegetables and fruits. Chef had zero ingenuity when it came to sights or smells - the lack of wow factor was astonishing not only in taste, but also in plating and presentation.

The veal was tough not tender, the fish made me long for something fresh, the beets were unimpressive, and the bread and butter was not even close to the types of mouthwatering loaves I’ve left dreaming about from other restaurants.

The service was 2 stars at best. Upon our return from the restroom, nobody pulled out our chairs. I spilled my drink on the table, and nobody noticed. All the staff made very awkward conversation about the weather or another bland topic. The service felt a little rushed - during one course, the waiter came over before my last bite of food to ask me how it was, waited til I finished, then immediately cleared the empty plates. Somebody crumbed the table while we were still eating the bread (too much, and super weird!).

At the end, they threw 12 desserts at us in a final, futile attempt to raise the bar and failed to show us why they were even awarded one star, let alone three. Wasteful, unresourceful, and listless - they’re trying so hard, and yet, getting nowhere.

Three highlights: the Rose (the only one available to order by the glass) was excellent, the Scallops were cooked perfectly, and the Caviar and Pearls were alright.

Indulging in the impeccable services of this establishment was a keen to an ethereal journey through the realms of the haute cuisine and opulent hospitality. Every facet of the experience exuded in Aura of sophistication that is simply unparalleled. From the meticulously curated menu that tantalized the most discerning palate to the flawlessly orchestrated service that caters to even the most capricious desires, this is unquestionably a sanctuary for the connoisseurs of refinement.

The ambiance, a symphony of Elegance and refinement, bespeaks in environment where one can truly bask in the resplendence of their own refined taste. The wine selection, an exquisite anthology of analogical treasures evaluated the dining experience to celestial height.

The staff, clad in the finest bespoke attire, exhibited an unwavering commitment to fulfilling one's every whim. Their knowledge and grace transformed a mere dinner into a transcendent gastro-nomic affair.

In some, this establishment is the epitome of haute couture in the realm of culinary arts and hospitality. It is an oasis for those who demand nothing less than perfection. Five stars do not do justice to this extraordinary experience.

Amazing food and service. They accommodated my dietary restrictions and provided many alternatives. All my dishes were delicious.

I had an incredible experience at this new American restaurant! The innovative flavors were and the contemporary cuisine was undeniably fantastic. While the American fare and fusion dining were average, the modern American dishes were on point. The blend of traditional and modern flavors left a lasting impression. The atmosphere was modern and inviting, and the service was top-notch.really good restaurant

I made a reservation to take my partner for dinner for a birthday celebration. Then unfortunately we both got covid. The reservation policy was 200$ per person. Those reservation system was
glitchy and did not allow me to cancel so I called letting them know that we are unable to attend due to COVID. It was within ample notice and spoke to a very rude reservationist and she was unable to reschedule or refund the 400$. Truly disgusting customer service.

Had an amazing birthday dinner here. The food was amazing and the service was the best. Truly a surreal experience, great for a special occasion.

A must!

What a great experience! The place is lovely, the service is fantastic and the food is simply amazing.
15 January 2022 10:14
In true Thomas Keller fashion, absolutely wonderful service experience especially the end where they bring you into the kitchen, and the food even though a couple intro courses are very similar to French Laundry for a couple courses - absolute perfection.
15 January 2022 9:36
Amazing experience. From the moment we arrived until the end. The Service, food, wine, cocktails, everything was impeccable.
30 December 2021 21:41
The service was impeccable, and very attentive. Food was customized to meet allergies and preferences very subtly and gracefully. The staff remembered drink preferences during cocktail hour and refilled glasses just as quickly for those of us not drinking alcohol as for those drinking the standard champagne. The steak course was exquisite and will haunt my dreams for years, and the 898 squash was actually not far behind! There were only two changes I would suggest: 1) I would have enjoyed it more if they had left the menus on the table, or announced the ingredients in each course as it was served; and 2) the table in the private dining room was too wide, so it was difficult to talk to anyone who wasn't sitting directly beside you, even though no dishes were being placed in all that empty space in the middle. Overall, a wonderful evening, and a wonderful way to make my way back into the world after such a long period of quarantine.
25 December 2021 20:44
Per Se is on another level. Not sure why the option to give anything less than 5 stars is available. My wife and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary on 10/12/21. What a great experience! Thank you for making it such a memorable evening! From start to finish-pure perfection. Until next time.
25 December 2021 18:36
I think it's important to contextualize this review. Per Se is certainly an excellent restaurant with outstanding food and service. However, I'm writing my review based on the expectations I would have of a 3 Michelin Star establishment that is supposed to be at the pinnacle of cuisine. Thomas Keller and his restaurants have an immaculate reputation, and my experience at Per Se didn't live up to that. I'm going to focus on the things that didn't pass muster in my opinion, so you can assume that if I don't mention it, it was excellent.

Service - The meal starts off on a bit of a sour note with an upsell of "accompaniments" which include truffle tagliatelle, wagyu beef, and foie gras. I understand these items are more expensive, but I don't find it appropriate to have to purchase them as additions at the meal. I'm happy to pay more for the meal up front and just have these items as part of the menu. When I show up, I'm expecting the best the restaurant can offer, and it's really disappointing to start off a meal knowing I won't be getting it. It just felt cheap. The drinks service was a little slow. Our second round of cocktails took quite a bit to come to the table. The staff refilling our water repeatedly spilled some few drops during the pour. Again, none of these items are a big deal, but they fall short of expectations.

Food - This is the more important part. Simplicity is important in high level cuisine. The salad, however, seemed almost lazy in its simplicity, with only 3 elements on the plate aside from the dressing. While the carrots were stunning, the tempura broccoli and fennel bulb didn't seem like well thought out and constructed complements. An alternative would be to not call it a salad and just construct it as a carrot dish. Otherwise, I expect additional elements that are more harmonious. The duck dish was the most disappointing. The duck was a little tough in parts, not as tender as I'd expect. The radicchio was bitter, and the accompanying grapes were bland (where'd the grape flavor go?). The Jus de Canard had a burnt flavor to it which was unpleasant. The duck fell quite far below standard. On the lamb dish, the dates were the highlight. They were the most flavorful component, while the lamb was a little bland and didn't really shine.

All in all, I think the experience was a bit of a disappointment. Going to a restaurant like this, I expected perfection, or as close to it as one can get. That's not what I experienced during my visit.
14 December 2021 15:30
Still the best restaurant in New York. I took my wife for her birthday, and they made the whole menu vegan. But most of all, it's the most special, most romantic, and most care you can get at a restaurant.
13 December 2021 9:27
Food, service, and ambiance. Each alone are the best we've ever had. But Per Se and the French Laundry are at the very top in each of these categories. Have eaten here multiple times and it just gets better each time. Best meals of our lives have been at these two restaurants. Thanks Chef Keller and the team for making such great memories for my wife and me.
13 December 2021 1:34
Very hard to get in, excellent service and good food, you need 3hrs to finish all 9 course, fix menu, as a vegetarian I never had like this flavors and varieties, overall great experience, highly recommended
10 December 2021 2:08
What an amazing dinner and top notch experience.
Some dishes of the tasting menu are similar to the French Laundry and some are unique to Per Se. Hard to say which one is better, they both have their own character.
Service was extremely friendly and attentive- we were especially impressed by Matthew, what a great guy!
09 December 2021 16:41
I am sad to say that our dinner this evening was incredibly disappointing. I will start by saying that we have the tremendous privilege of eating at the finest restaurants in the world. I have enjoyed per se on several occasions in the past and went there tonight to enjoy dinner post-Covid. The oysters and pearls appetizer was delicious (as always) but from there the dinner was disappointing. The soup and fish courses were served lukewarm (including the seared tuna) and the meat Dishes were served at room temperature and were overly salted. The service was non-attentive and felt like they were uninspired.

Since emerging from Covid we have been to Daniel, marea, Gotham, Jean Georges, Ai Fiori and Scalini Fideli and Per Se does not compare to any of those restaurants. It feels very stale and incredibly disappointing.
09 December 2021 0:38
Visited twice on birthdays. Everything here is amazing, including food quality, vibe and service. Also recommend their wine pairings, definitely worth to try.
07 December 2021 22:09
Very memorable for the wrong reasons.

My wife and I had an anniversary dinner at Per Se. We had no issues with the food which was good but not great. But we experienced several issues which would be unacceptable at an Outback Steakhouse - let alone a 3 star Michelin restaurant and a bill of $1100 for two.

The first and most appalling issue was that a couple dining one table away, had TWO DOGS with them, in the dining room. Not only were the dogs at the table, one was sitting in a guests lap, eating ice cream off a spoon. Then one of the dogs started barking. I could not believe that our anniversary dinner was being interrupted by barking dogs eating off the table, and that the staff was accommodating this nonsense. We had a late reservation and so by the time we observed this, these patron were on the last course, so they'd clearly been in the restaurant for a couple of hours. Per Se should be ashamed to have tolerated this and shown no concern for the experience of every other patron.

Next, the bathrooms were dirty, with urine on the ground and paper towels crumpled on the ground. Maybe I entered right after some other patron left it untidy, but I used the same bathroom a full hour later, and it looked the same (actually worse, with even more towels on the ground). A fast food restaurant is more diligent about cleaning restrooms on a schedule than Per Se was during our visit.

Lastly, the service was good but not great and not at the standard of this class of restaurant. We were contacted in advance and requested the vegetarian menu. After being seated, our server gave us the normal chefs menu and reviewed all those, wrong dishes. We then asked if they had our request for vegetarian menus, and they did. So we start over with the correct menu. As we departed, we saw no staff and no hostess - and as we went for the front door someone comes running after us, asking if we are leaving. We are halfway out the door and say, yes, and then we are told they wish to give us a personalized menu and treat. Another 5 seconds and they would have been chasing us thru the mall. Both of these are examples of staff that is just not executing at the level of this class of restaurant.

Photos of the dogs and bathroom (one hour apart) are included. I tried to contact the restaurant privately but there is no contact info on the website, so I have no option except to post as a public review.

We've also dined at Eleven Madison, Le Bernardin, Daniel, etc.and had great experiences. We are disappointed and dismayed at the experience we had at Per Se.

Now the question is, do we contact the health department? Not the type of question you should consider after a $1100 meal for two.
03 December 2021 1:28
In.good faith I made reservations to this restaurant and paid as required a deposit of 200.00 for each 4 in the party total of 800.00 dollars, on the date of reservation October 8th one of the guess had Covi19 breakthrough. (vaccinated) only 3 of us showed up. Besides that we spend more than 1500 dollars they would not credit the 200.00 for the 4 th person that could not attend, this is in my opinion is bad faith and I give zero Michelin stars to the administration
02 December 2021 1:48
Great service, as it couldn't be otherwise. All the waiters are very nice and knowledgeable. The ambience is also quite nice. I personally don't like restaurants with strict dress codes, but they were relatively flexible (I wore a nice shirt and a modern vest, no jacket, shoes and regular pants).

The food is quite good, although it didn't strike me as surprising (some other restaurants with less Michelin stars surprised me more, especially in Europe). But it's good. The deserts were quite good, and they have a good selection of teas (very cheap, surprisingly!).

At over $400/person, it's probably the priciest restaurant I have been to. I'm not sure why in a menu with this price there are price supplements (+$30 for foiegrass seemed really odd, +$100 for japanese wagyu), but it's nice that service is included (tips would be insane here!). I personally found the wine menu unreasonably priced, and opted for getting a cocktail at $25/drink, because I couldn't make up my mind about the wines. Then again, it's NYC, with views at Central Park, and with 3 Michelin stars. It doesn't get more luxurious than that, and the prices are reasonable consideting restaurant prices in the USA. It just doesn't compare well with similar or better restaurants in other countries.

My favorites were the "oysters and pearls" and the "prime rib of elysian field farm lamb". The duck foigrass was also delicious, of course, and I also really liked the gougère with aged comté cheese and black truffles. The deserts were very fullfilling but good.

Taking into account the above, I would recommend it as a nice experience if you are in NYC and have big pockets. But I probably would not do the trip on purpose to come here.

Exquisite dinner and service. Warm and professional staff.
Deserves its reputation: one of the best.
26 November 2021 5:49
What an amazing experience. Each of the 8 courses and the wine selections were outstanding. Our main server Igor managed the whole experience impeccably our party was large and with a lot of dietary choices. Michelle's wine recommendations were perfect for our food choices and they even made a bespoke cocktail for one of us. Every course was a unique experience and executed to perfection. Well done chef and team.

Per Se is one of the finest dining experiences that you can have in NYC. I've eaten here four or five times over the years, the tasting menu is expensive but the experience is 2 plus hours long which is perfect for a special occasion. The food presentation is unique & outstanding. On a side note, I really miss his other NYC restaurant the TAK room which was located down in Hudson Yards. Unfortunately covid put it out of business but I really hope Mr. Keller brings the TAK room back one day. It was my favorite restaurant in NYC.
18 November 2021 0:56
It is a three-star restaurant, so I went with high expectations. However, the food was not as beautiful as the pictures, and the taste was strong. I was surprised. The staff and service were excellent.
14 November 2021 12:18
Amazing food! I came here with families and I feel I’m welcomed. The stuff are polite and thoughtful. They are down to earth and easy to have a conversation. My boyfriend and I celebrated our birthdays and received nice gifts. The dessert was amazing and the amount was generous. Great experience and I’d definitely recommend you to come here again to celebrate some important events of your life.

We celebrated our 20th anniversary there. We’ve eaten at Per Se a number of times before but this time was even better. Food was delicious and service truly exceptional.

We have dined at several of Thomas Keller's restaurants. We tried the French Laundry when they were still under re-construction but over-all, I think I liked Per Se much better than French Laundry. It was a wonderful dining experience. The truffle kept flowing and flowing on the mac and cheese.just amazing.and the staff there was pleasant to have conversations with.but not intrusive. I look forward to dining at Per Se again.and again.

WARNING: FOOD POISONING-DIARRHEA

My friends and I, all three of us experienced DIARRHEA and mild ABDOMINAL PAIN after the meal. We are very disappointed because this shouldn’t happen at any restaurant regardless of whether it’s a fine dining or not.

I cannot believe my very first review is to write about this. Given the price, I have expectations for a Michelin starred restaurant, but I’m not a picky person.

Food: the food is in general good, not really impressive compared to the other Michelin starred restaurants in the city (I’m a foodie and I have tried most 3 & 2 stars)
Let-downs: for the dish add-on, we ordered wagyu and foie gras. We thought it’s in addition to the main courses they serve, but apparently they substituted them. If you want to try the original chefs tasting menu, do NOT order add-on. Some other restaurants would add truffle, wagyu, etc as an actual “add-on”, so I’m pretty surprised to see they just substituted them. The waiter also forgot to mention the price of add-on, but this is a relatively minor issue.

Services: 4-stars, standard Michelin star service - minus one star for being slow and not as attentive (waited very long to order wine, and first few courses were relatively slow)
17 October 2021 4:26
I have been twice. The food is great and no complaints there. My issue is with the service. For this type of restaurant, I found the service average. For such a small restaurant with 3 Michelin stars this is not acceptable. I organized a dinner for a client and pre ordered the wine. I arrived first and they did not ever ask if I was the host. During dinner, I ordered another bottle of wine and received a very odd look from the waiter. I did not think much of it but then when I was leaving, I turned my phone back on and there were several messages from the restaurant indicating that "he" ordered wine and we wanted to confirm if that was ok with you. The "He" was me. I can't help but think that the fact that I am not white influenced why this happened. They just assumed that my guests were the people paying for the $3000 dinner but I was. I will not be back.
16 October 2021 22:25
We had an absolute perfect night there. The food was excellent, every single course was extremely delicious. Will definitely come back!
08 October 2021 1:17
Such a perfect restaurant for proposal dinner! Big congrats to the beautiful couple and thank you for having me as your floral designer! I’d definitely recommend the east private dinning room because the view is awesome! Working with the private dinning manager Megan and her team was a delightful experience and we were able to ensure the floral arrangement installation and disposal and other logistics go smoothly and as planned.

If you are passing through New York you cannot miss a stop here!
Impeccable dining and kitchen service, nice restaurant and nice atmosphere

The food at this restaurant is absolutely amazing. Every single dish was extremely delicious. This is better than Le Bernardin for sure in my view.

I have been dining at per se for years, and today didn't disappoint. Matthew was in charge of us and he was one of the most charismatic and caring servers we have ever had and took great care of us. The food was spectacular as well - well deserved 3 stars. Will be back again in the future.
20 September 2021 7:33
I had a very pleasant lunch here - a highly recommended experience. The food was an irresistible celebration of human creativity which was amplified by the attentive service and relaxing atmosphere.

The food at this restaurant is absolutely amazing. Every single dish was extremely delicious. This beats Le Bernardin by far in my view.

For $315 pp with gratuity included, I would say this is well priced for the quality of food you get. There are also multiple supplements you can add to your tasting menu for extra cost.

I highly recommend getting the seared foie gras supplement. The seared foie gras is much tastier than the slow poached one. The flavor is explosive and was probably one of my most favorite dishes of the night.

Also be prepared for a firework ending burst of desserts.
14 September 2021 12:25
Have been hearing people talking about it a lot, and finally had a chance to dine in there for my 10th anniversary in NYC. I must say it was an unforgettable experience, the food tastes great and no single ingredients are the same in their 9 courses and multiple desserts. Customer service is A+, especially the guy whose name is Igor, he made our experience at Per Se even better! Will definitely come back again. The restaurant also gave us some cookies and the menu for our memories. Also, saw some article saying that they are raising their price to $800 per person, I would highly recommend people go there sooner than later.
12 September 2021 17:58
One of our favorite #restaurants in New York City. We have to come every time we’re in town. Thanks to the @perseny team for making our #anniversary celebration so special! The staff goes above and beyond to ensure that we have an amazing experience that sparks joy. I talked about loving the chestnut agnolotti and wish they had it and they automatically asked if I wanted to sub the salad course for the corn agnolotti. I mentioned about loving their #pretzel bread and they packed up a bunch for me to eat tomorrow. I cannot say enough about the food and the level of service. If you’re ever in NYC, you need to come to Per Se.
10 September 2021 21:00
From start to finish the experience was beautiful. The staff was knowledgeable and really took the time to explain the menu in detail. They also went out of their way to make sure we had the best night, and we did. We loved the Tasting Menu and appreciated that the restaurant took time to personalize a few items to take home. We're looking forward to visiting Per Se once we come back to New York.
05 September 2021 1:54
I’ve been frequenting Per Se for years and despite a few scathing NY Times reviews, it always manages to impress my palate. Service is impeccable with every movement and interaction orchestrated. Wonderful selection of French whites. Highly suggest asking for a tour of their wine cellar.
04 September 2021 5:20
Absolutely incredible in every aspect. The attention to detail is unparalleled. There’s such hype and high expectations when dining at an establishment like this, but nowhere did they fall short.
01 September 2021 15:26
Most amazing experience! Staff was exceptional. Food incredible, every single dish. Definitely A memorable experience.
31 August 2021 15:29
The well-known Per Se is located in the Time Warner Center in Manhattan. It is a combination of modern American and French cuisine. As the most famous three-star Michelin restaurant in New York, Per Se's status has never been shaken. Someone said: "If you haven't eaten at Per Se in New York, don't say you have been to New York. "

As a New York lover, I visited New York many times, I definitely visited Per Se. Per Se gives me a real 3-star Michelin feeling, from the foods, service, and the environment. In addition, after the meal, I got a chance to visit its kitchen: it’s an unbelievable spotless kitchen. I also got a box of home-made cookies and a box of home-made chocolate when I leave. Absolutely recommend. It’s costly, but it worth the money for such a great experience. I had its chef tasting menu.
28 August 2021 18:39
Love the presentation, love the food. The service was definitely great, sommelier knows his wine (as he should). I was surprised the restaurant wasn't at a more secluded setting, being on the 4th floor of the Time Warner shopping center is a good location, just a little crowded when you are all dressed up for a Michelin three-star experience and rubbing shoulder with tourists on flip flops coming up the escalator. But the experience itself is great.
25 August 2021 0:20
It's Per Se. If you can get a table, have a grand to drop on dinner for 2 then go. Thomas Keller is well, I don't know the most amazing chef in the? Probably.
23 August 2021 7:53
Our second time here and, we can’t wait to come back! The staff is warm and welcoming from the moment you walk through the doors. They are attentive, personable and friendly. The food is uniquely prepared and every bite is beyond incredible. Dining at Per Se is truly an extraordinary experience!
18 August 2021 12:28
Absolutely amazing dining experience! All the courses were so delicious and the service was impeccable We decided to celebrate a birthday here and there was a complimentary birthday cake, special menu and a bag of pastries to bring home since we were too full when it was at the dessert stage. Really can’t say any bad thing about Per Se!
18 August 2021 6:11
I went to Per Se for a friend’s birthday dinner and it was one of the best dining experiences in my life. This nine-course chef's tasting menu was expertly prepared and redefined my expectations for fine dining. Overall the service was excellent, the decor was elegant, and most importantly the food was memorable.

I’d specifically like to mention and recommend the “Oysters And Pearls. ” It was my favorite dish and I would come back just to try it or a variation of it again.
03 August 2021 17:44
If you want to pay and eat your lifetime supply of salt in one dinner, come to Per Se. Half of the courses are way too salty even for someone that's eating MSG everyday. There's one dish I have to try very hard not to puke it out. Most of the dishes with any sort of gravy is uneatable. This is a place that I would not go back even if someone else is paying. It's a suffering to eat here.
03 August 2021 12:24
Amazing service, amazing food. One of the best drinks I’ve had. The waiters are patient and funny. If you are looking for an experience, I would definitely recommend getting a reservation for this place.
28 July 2021 8:19
Such a beautiful experience as always. Moist, soft but firm and tasty chicken Pate like dish. The beef strip slices were amazing. Almost like pastrami but so much better. Scallop was more firm in texture than I would like but such juiciness and caramelized flavors. The salmon cornettes and oysters & pearls dish are the best things there. Can have 10 of those each. Any time you go is such a special occasion without the pretense.
23 July 2021 3:27
The experience was memorable! The food was truly imperishable and they went out of their way to add little touches to make the entire experience feel personal. After a year of quarantine it was nice to experience normal dining.
19 July 2021 14:05
This is one of a kind. Words can’t describe. I’ve eaten at many Michelin Star Restaurants and several of the 3 stars and this one tops the cake. Can’t wait to come back!
17 July 2021 8:57

One of the best meals in my life! The service was spectacular and the food was amazing! Everything was handled with care and the presentation of the food delightful. Highly recommend for any special occasion!

There are not enough words to describe this amazing experience, I’m surprised to have taken this long to make a comment about it. Everything was perfection and the food is divine. Worth every penny.

Third time is “not” the charm ️
Our favorite restaurant in the world is not the same anymore!
Food was great, but no longer
extraordinary. Service was good, but no longer awesome.
Maybe it was the reopening blues? It just lacked the wow factor. We had our dinner with wine pairing and nothing was memorable. Just good.
But Per should not be just good. It’s should be spectacular. So sadly our favorite restaurant after this third visit will no longer be the “best” any longer.

Per Se, three Michelin stars, three words to describe, good and bad. The good: Complex, ingenuitive, savory. The Bad: Heavy, dense, intense. No question that Per Se's chef Corey Chow is a master of the piano (aka - kitchen) combining complex flavor profiles and global cuisines and delivering a meal worthy of the clout. I met Corey myself and I can say the guy is humble beyond belief - you usually don't get this with young chefs at restaurants of this caliber. This review would be 5 stars compared to the avg. NYC restaurant on Google, however, the comparison is not apples to apples. I give this restaurant 4/5 stars compared to its 4 peers in NYC w/ 3 Michelin stars. Per Se is filling. Go hungry. The flavors are heavy, lots of fat and creams - you will need an antacid after. Per Se is traditional NYC fine dining (old French w/ a global twist). Per Se has exceptional service. My constructive criticism is as follows: less heavy w/ cream and fats - introduce some more refreshing dishes to the menu. Their signature dish was fantastic - never change it. Wasn't a fan of the peaky toe crab dish. The pigeon was superb. The desserts were some of the best I've ever had. Oysters and pearls: 5/5. Salad of Norwich Meadows Farm Radishes: 3/5. Slow Poached Hudson Valley Duck Foie Gras: 4/5 (note - very interesting foi gras preparation, really enjoyed this dish but not enough to say 5/5). Maine Peekytoe Crab: 2/5. Beets & Leeks: 3/5. Thomas Farm Pigeon: 5/5. Prime Rib of Elysian Fields Farm Lamb: 4/5. Charcoal Grilled Miyazaki Wagu: 5/5. Gougre: 4/5. Assortment of Desserts: 5/5. From an experience level, I asked to meet the chef and if I could get the chef to sign my French Laundry Per Se Cookbook. They were very accommodative. Would have loved to have been there on an night that Chef Keller was there. Staff - excellent: 5/5. Overall, Per Se is worthy of its titles and awards. I would say that in my opinion, from a food perspective, Eleven Madison Park (pre-meatless) tops Per Se, along with Chef's Table, and Le Bernardin, and Masa. From a service perspective, I put Per Se as #2 or #3, second to Eleven Madison Park and at the same level as Le Bernardin. From a wine perspective: top 50%. Would I visit this restaurant again? Maybe in a few years. Would I recommend this restaurant, absolutely. Is it the best of the 3 Michelin stars in Manhattan? No, but don't think that it needs to be. Overall, a very strong establishment with arguably the best leadership of any of top restaurants in the world.

A truly exceptional experience. I’ve been to several 3 Michelin starred restaurants, and this might be my favorite. The food, service, and atmosphere is top notch and would HIGHLY recommend visiting. Making reservations as advanced as possible is what I would highly recommend as the restaurant is usually fully booked 1+ months out. I also recommend all of the supplements on the tasting menu. I will be returning soon!
