I bought my car to Pep Boys because the engine light was on. I had just finished coming from the dealership who do not solve the problem. Pep Boys got their manager to come and personally inspect my car. They told me what was wrong with my car and then told me to bring it back in, ordered the parts, and now my car is working fine with No Engine Light. I had a full tuneup in March at Pep boys and the manager gave me a courtesy repair with no charge I will definitely keep bringing my car to Pep Boys! No more dealership repair shops for me

I know nothing about cars and even less about tires and rims etc. I just wanted a set of new tires for a 2005 used car I bought for my daughter to use on campus in Chicago. I got the wrong rims, I wanted sensors I did not need, I missed my appointment. Courtney stepped in, had the tires I needed shipped to the store, I used my old rims and all’s well that ends well. Courtney gets 10 stars and two thumbs up.

I have had really bad experiences at my dealership so I decided to give Pep Boys a try for an oil change and service. They have so many appointment times available, I made an appointment online for Saturday at 3pm. Everyone was friendly and helpful in the store. They told me to come back around 5pm. I got a text at 4: 45 that my car was ready. There was a slight issue with paperwork that they quickly fixed and were very apologetic about. I was out at 5: 15 and paid significantly less than I would have at a Toyota service center. I'm really glad I read the reviews for all the Brooklyn Pep Boys and I encourage everyone to choose this one- especially people like me who don't know much about cars and feel like they always get ripped off at other mechanics.

This is my story I took my car there because it didn’t want to Start. The next day I received a call from one the Pepboys employees saying “ I need a new Fuel pump and a new fuel filter and the Price was $1900 total, cost and labor included. I called 2 different Pepboys in Queens to test their honesty. I ask them how much it would cost to replace the fuel filter and fuel pump. The price they gave me was $1440~1600 total cost and labor included and they broke down to me why such price, also they explained that it was an extra $ 100 dollars to drain the fuel out. So i went to pick my car and when I arrived confronted them about $1900 why so much money? They all look at each other in a suspicious way and body language because they knew they were scamming me. I paid them the $1900 anyways. When they gave me the keys to pick up the car, I’ve noticed my car had the same exact amount of fuel since the firs day I took it to pepboys. So what’s does that means? They never drained any fuel. To replace the fuel pupmp? Is pepboys going to drain the bad contaminated fuel like they said and than put the same fuel back in the tank? Is pepboys going to put half tank of fuel in my car? For free? All I have to say after this experience is this: *** I WILL NEVER, IN MY LIFE WOULD TAKE MY CAR TO PEPBOYS AGAIN*** I don’t care if they offer me a free oil chain, a free car wash, a free giftcard for gas, I DON’T CARE. Never Again.

Staff was patient and diligently sought out my cars issues.staff kept me updated and Dewayne noticed a billing issue I missed. I always appreciate the staff at 4th Ave.

Had the best experience at Pepboys. I had a flat tire and they were able to accommodate me late at night around 9: 40pm. David was the kindest man and really saved the day. He was so professional and knowledgeable. I felt so relieved after visiting three other tire shops in the area that did not have my tire in stock. Thank god they were open late at night otherwise I may have had to miss work.

The word experience! My driver waited for 6 hours to receive service on Sat 7/16/22. It never happened.appointment set for 10am that day. They wanted to get the car in for service at 4pm. Do not go here!

The worst service that you can get in Brooklyn. Would never recommend this place to no one. They absolutely have no idea where the stuff they order is located, rude and unprofessional customer service. Didn't even put an effort to help me with changing the tire. Literally the worst place to have service in Brooklyn.

Customer service is great! Mechanics- eeeeh! Bought new tires here, consultant girl was super helpful, but installation was madness. Did not balance and align correct. Missing 1 nut. Had to go back 2more times. Still not correct balance. Car shakes on highway. Had to go to my local tire shop to balance again out of pocket. They barely opened the nuts as pepboys hardened them so hard that couple of nuts was damaged while opening! As a store I recommend them, but for service I’d say just avoid it

Had a service done at this store and I can tell you the customer service was great, all our questions were answered and service time was on point. Our rep was store Manager Dwayne, I would recommend this store 354 4th Ave location for all your car servicing. Ask for Dwayne.

You go in here for a pair of tires and suddenly your car has all kind of problems according to the salesman, so a $600.00 original sale could very well end up winding up nearly $2000.00 when all is said and done!

Visited this store two days ago, and finally decided to leave a review. I came for a general car tune up and bought brand new tires. Once I entered the store, I was greeted by the staff, there was a hick up on the service needed, but it was rectified by the store manger Dwayne. His knowledge on what was needed and his general personality will definitely bring me back Pepboy Location on 4th Ave.

Had a 12 pm appointment for a wheel balancing, arrived @ 11: 45 am & waited till 1: 18 pm before my car was taken. My car wasn't ready until 2: 23 pm really? Meanwhile the text sent to me said my job would be ready by 1: 30 pm, talk about false advertising or misinformation. What is the purpose of having an appointment + showing up 15 minutes early & still taking 2.5 hours for wheel balancing? This was the worst service I've received in ages. Avoid at all costs.

I thought I had a fine experience, Courtney helped me out and he was nice and somewhat helpful.but boy was I wrong. Everything I needed done on my car they messed up. The tire pressure sensor was dead and they said it was fine but they lied (?) or didn’t check, yet we’re quick to assure me it was fine.

The break pads they installed were the “lowest quality” my mechanic had ever seen. He didn’t even recognize the brand.

They said I need spacers for my tires because of after market rims, the two other mechanics I went to after said I don’t. The problem was coming from the break pads that they installed.huge waste of time and money here.very disappointment and upset, but trying not to be angry.

Save your money and go to A&J Auto on 3rd ave and 24th street.

Pepboys idk what’s going on with you, you’re nice ppl but y’all gave my car back to me with more noticeable problems than when i gave it to you ….

The do the services as told but everything here is with a grain of salt. As if they don’t want your business. I had to come here a couple of times since my vehicle was part of a fleet and the company has a contract with them but now I’m glad I don’t have to come here anymore.

My daughter came in for an oil change and got a courtesy inspection. The sales person said there was damage to the rear suspension and it needed to be replaced. The whole thing for $3000. I had a trip planned out there for two weeks later. I said don’t do it. I’ll look at it when I come out. I just replaced the $33 suspension rod link. Here is the photo.

Seems to be a scam artist place. Bring in your car for service and come out with your engine making new noises you didn't have before you went in. And they will tell you a whole list of things that need to be "repaired. "

Today I came to Pep Boys to get state inspection I must say I had a good customer experience. George and Cedric were great. They worked on me well and they were social. We need such people especially during these tough times. Someone to make you smile even if you have had a rough day, asking how your day was which is very important. Otherwise big guys thanks for good customer service. Am sure I will come back again.

They don’t match online prices.even then I was willing to pay higher prices.after all the conversation and finalize the deal salesperson said we don’t have tires in the store you have to come back. What a waste of time. I got it from other locations with $100 chipper and good deal with alignment.

Completely understaffed and over priced. Cost me $360 for a battery and oil change. The only reason I came here was because my mechanic is closed on the weekend and my battery was completely dead. I called a head of time and was told it should only take about 2 hours. Ended up being 5 hours. To add insult to injury they tried selling me completely unnecessary and overpriced services. Tried selling me an air filter replacement for $50… must get a lot of people come through here who have no worries about money. The estimated repairs they gave me amounted to $2500. LOL. I had my tires replaced a year ago with only 5000 miles on them and they tried to tell me I needed new tires. Don’t waste your time or money here. The girl at the counter that assisted me was amazing though, very kind and understanding. There was a guy working there that was a complete A**hole to me after he overheard me tell a potential customer about how I waited 5 hours for a battery and oil change after he lied to her saying a battery change would just take an hour. He wasn’t wearing a name tag and when I asked for his name he pretended to be too involved with a customer to hear me.

What a great location and experience. Kevin assisted me from 8am to almost 6pm. After I dropped off my car for a diagnosis, he kept me up to date with changes and it lasted longer than I anticipated but he was thorough, patient and timely. Must visit!

I found myself at this location because it is one of the few places open late.

My experience was subpar. The parking lot is pitch black and a safety concern. From excessively long wait times, no communication from the technician, and then a hassle in check out. To get a simple oil change took them 4-5 hours, even tho I had an appointment. Don’t come here.

They are extremely slow! They have an older gentleman who works the counter, and he literally takes 20 minutes on each customer! The customer service on the floor is non-existent, but you can see why they have a 3.6 review!

I needed numerous services for my car and had limited funds! I’d done some research and decided that Pep Boys had the best coupons for what I needed. Little did I know that people really care and are still professional. Since the tires that I needed weren’t available, Kevin found some of better quality and offered matching prices! To God be the glory! I really needed a good price!

Came here as a favor for my sister to get an oil change. Instant regret as I should’ve just gone somewhere else. An appointment ’ don’t mean nothing as I still had to wait about 15-20 standing in line to be helped. When it was my turn, I was asking details about the prices and what were the details. Dude had the nerve to tell me to “hold on” so that he could pick up the phone and help another customer calling in while I’m standing there for like 3 minutes. Meanwhile, there’s a line of 4 other customers behind me waiting to be helped. $91 for pennzoil synthetic oil with a purolator filter. Only upside was it took “only” an hour for servicing. Came back to wait in line to pay. Had a 30% coupon for oil change and it dropped the price to $80. That didn’t compute and when I asked, sadiq said “I don’t do math”, he was rude and curt. I was so fed up at that point, I just paid and left to go search for the car in the parking lot. I figured out on my own that their 30% coupon only took off $10 since the oil was about $33. No discount on anything else. There was also a $3 charge for some topping off of fluids that wasn’t explained to me.
People, for $80, you’re better off taking your car even to the dealership than endure this abysmal level of “customer service”. And I know I’m not the only customer here with that sentiment. Never again here.

I have been coming to this Pep Boys for over 10 years and 2 different cars. Always receive quality service. Huge thanks to George for being so informative and helpful when getting 4 new tires. Also, letting me know what service should be done in the future.

Eddie is athe greatest customer service rep! He helped me save money on my service by pointing out the service coupons. Everyone there is friendly and knowledgeable about repairs and service maintenance. The mechanic who serviced my vehicle took the time to show me necessary repairs that affect car safety. So grateful for this PepBoys team!

Well, what a disappointment. I had a reservation for an inspection at a specific time. But so Apparently, did everyone else in Brooklyn. I waited 20 minutes before I got to the counter to check in. My Pep boy told me he’d call with the results of my inspection (2 year old subaru). An hour later he called and said I needed a new air filter and oil change. Idiot that I am, I did not say “how much? ” because I pretty much know what those cost. Right? WRONG Pep Boys has Packages for their services! $ 400+ and two hours longer than promised, I received a new state inspection sticker. And then I had to search the parking lot for my car. PEP = Pay Extraordinary Prices.

Nice waiting lounge, all the charging outlets and WiFi work. Pep Boys has a cell IM based notification system that tells customers when the service is done and expert inspection report about the customer car is provided in the link.

Long, Long time waiting. Even I already had an appointment at the website and I came in on time in the morning. I still need to wait to get my tire changes. After the service end. I still need to waiting long hours after they realized that tire coming from other location. Other 3hrs waste, finally when arrived other three hrs waiting. Couldn't believe that all day took my to change the tires when i made appointment.
In addition, the reception looks like they don't want to work at all,

On December 26,2021, I visited the PepBoys on 4th Ave. The manager Dwayne assisted me with my tire pressure system issue. He was very kind, caring, and professional. He apologized for another locations mishaps and eased my anxieties.

I brought my 2012 Ford in for an inspection. About 30 minutes later, I received a call from the "Service Manager" who informed me that I would need major work on the front end in order to pass. He claimed that I needed struts, an alignment, all 4 tires to be balanced, sway bars. When I asked for an estimate, he told me that it would be $1350.00! I took the car back, and went to my local mechanic instead. ALL I NEEDED WAS A SET OF NEW WIPER BLADES! Do not use these guys- They're THIEVES. I've filed a report with the DMV about their business practices.
