Cavernous, yet we were still about 14 inches from our neighbor. Mediocre service, left hungry after ordering an app, 2 mains and an extra side. My husband is a culinary trained chef. We know good food. I am a a high end trained server, we know good service. This had none of the above. I was completely depressed that this was our “nice meal out” for our winter break. Not at all worth the price of entry. Will not be back. Would not recommend. Nice people serving, but not at all trained in fine dining. If you’re going to charge me $50 for an entree, you HAVE TO OFFER FINE DINING SERVICE.period.

Food was delicious with variety across proteins and beautifully plated. June was our waiter, and he was 5-star plus! He was attentive, genuine, friendly, and efficient. The rest of the serving staff was outstanding as well!

The venue was beautifully set and spacious. Hostess was friendly and accommodated our light luggage, so we didn't need to have them at the table.

Excellent and definitely will return!

We just enjoyed an excellent dinner of soft shell crab w/ a snow pea salad. The combination was superb, just the right amount, and the snow peas complimented the crab in a very tasty way. We both enjoyed it very much and recommend it highly!

This was a great place for a more unique culinary experience. The restaurant was a bit loud but the food, servers and staff made up for it. We even met some locals who were super nice. The food was great and we enjoyed our dinner.

The service is great. The food overall was a bit too salty for me. The fish was overcooked with skin burned. Dessert was ok.

The best experience ever so far in 50 plus years, dinning around the world. The attention to detail on everything the warmth welcome, the smiles, the knowledge and the service totally flawless.

Popped in a little before 5PM and got a spot at the bar, by 5: 30PM the place was packed with suits getting a drink before going home. I decided to try the caviar special for $45. The lobster was the best! There were a decent amount of people eating dinner at the bar. Drinks were good but pricey.

The service was so good! The waiters were very attentive as well as the man who welcomed us in. The food was great the drinks were great and the food was amazing. I recommend the Kushi Oysters, the branzino, the 3 cheese corn ravioli and the vanilla panna cotta.

Everybody was happy with their meals. We split the Dover Sole. The kitchen is not shy about the use of butter (a pro or a con? You decide.) The sommelier was very helpful and the wine list is extensive and reasonable, the cocktail program is terrific!

Great mahi mahi, and even better filet, w/ some of the best Moscato. Will be coming back here next time I'm in NYC.

Excellent quality. The menu is not overwhelming. There ia something for someone although I like to see more a couple of other options. Their oysters are very fresh and succulent. The colossal wild shrimps are huge and fresh. Their steak is super tender and tasty - a perfect steak! The waiting staffs are every attentive and efficient. Will definitely revisit although price is on the high side.

My group of 7 friends came dinner here Friday night and was treated with the utmost respect and attentiveness from the entire wait staff. Every part of our meal from drinks appetizers entrees and dessert was amazing.

I had the Calamari Risotto and Naked Cowboy oysters! My friends had the lobster risotto and they all said it was amazing!

Do yourself a favor and book the reservation!

Went for after work drinks. Was super crowded, but managed to find 6 person high top. Great service. We were looked after and served promptly.the bar food was easy and delicious.fish tacos, calamari pizza, etc

Great dinner. The salmon tartare toast is bright and fresh and flavorful, while the lobster scampi is rich (but still letting the taste of lobster shine through). The pistachio semifreddo was also a good way to end the meal.

Nice cocktails. The spinach and artichoke dip was phenomenal! Sliders were also good. We just stayed for drinks and bar snacks but would certainly come back.

Our waiter, Luis, was superb. Rarely, do you meet a waiter who loves his work as Luis does, and it shows. He could not be more courteous or professional, and his recommendations were spot on. The ambiance and food, each of which was excellent, was enhanced by Luis’ service.

Beautiful place, cozy, personal is so attentive, dishes are beautifully served and portions are good also, we asked for a wine suggestion and it was simply perfect, no complains at all, it is located near Times Square and if you are tired of walking and walking this could be paradise for you, and also for refuel energy. It has option for indoor and outdoor dining, definitely a must to visit in NYC.

Delicious food. Portions are what you expect from a restaurant of this calibre. Only detracting a star due to the table location being right in middle of major walkway and the number of times we were bumped into.

Yikes I took a really long time to post this review. I had lunch with a friend here back in June so things may have changed since then.

If you’re looking for a refined spot for a lunch break, Oceana has got you covered. Ample natural light, sleek interior decor, and a well-dressed service team foster a near perfect Midtown lunch experience. It feels good to dine here. Not only that, the service is quick and attentive, without being overbearing. Oceana’s service team displays genuine interest in your satisfaction. Expect some friendly conversation and thorough knowledge of the menu from your server.

My roommate and I were more than satisfied with our meal. I chose the Three Course Lunch; everything was cooked perfectly. Gun to my head - my favorite part was the deconstructed lemon meringue pie. Unfortunately, this is no longer offered as a lunchtime dessert. However, I’m confident that the Orange Dreamsicle Parfait is a good option!

They gave a surprise birthday dessert after they noticed the date on my daughter's id. They are very tentative and very professional!

This place did not disappoint me! They have fantastic food and amazing presentation! Great ambiance for dates, meetings and hosting a party! Staffs are very friendly and accommodating. One waiter took our photo like we had a photoshoot

The bar atmosphere is nice and also the dining area. The small booths looking into the restaurant are cute and perfect for a romantic dinner. The service was great. I liked the oysters and the main dish (Halibut) was the highlight. The cold appetizers were soso.

Absolutely loved this place. The service, the atmosphere, the ambiance, and most importantly the food were all excellent! Nice seafood selection. The celery root chowder was to die for. Everything was top notch, including the desserts which were worthy of a fancy French Patisserie. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the desserts were made in-house. The epitome of NYC dining!

The staff here is very friendly and accommodating. The food is good but not over the top and the service is a little slow.

The food was not that good compared to the high price. The lobster scampi was way too salty. The salmon and pan a cotta were pretty good. The service was slow and the waiter was rude. When we were ordering, the waiter just walked away without saying where he was going. We waited a long time for him to come back. The warm water had a metallic and weird taste in it. It was a relatively poor experience for an expensive restaurant.

Read the reviews and booked for thanksgiving. Food was ok, will give a 3 out of 5. Dishes were good not great. Definitely had better mushrooms and Salmon elsewhere. The desserts were good. The service is mediocre. Had a 6pm reservation and was here 10 of, but didnt get seated until 11 mins after. Did not get a good table initially, they seated us a party of 3 in a large booth upfront behind the welcome desk which didn’t even have table setting on, so had to ask for a better table. Then didn’t have anyone ask for drinks until 6: 30pm. They mentioned they were over booked. Typically you pay a premium at these restaurants for a combination of ambiance, food and service and I feel this one lacks that. No wonder they lost their Michelin star status. So much for booking this restaurant on Thanksgiving day and driving all the way from Middlebury, CT.

Took forever to place menu. Took forever to get appetizers. Dinner was served at 7: 30. We had an 8: 00 show 7 blocks away. Unacceptable. Ate in 5 minutes and ran.

Baaabae! The food was amazing (redfish with crawfish tails/ salmon /seafood rice /mustard greens /potatoes) and Michelle’s customer service, attention to detail and knowledge of the menu made our visit one to remember. I highly recommend this place!

It is close to Radio City and Rockefeller Plaza. Restaurant called “upscale” but it is not the impression upon arrival. The receptionists in jeans and T-shirts.
Waiters are professionals and friendly. Explain any questions you have about the dishes. By the way, the food is nutritious, tasty, and the portions enough. With a good wine list.
Despite having a three course dinner, with good options, we decided on Appetizers: Mackerel Crudo, Arctic Char. Main course: Seared Halibut and Risotto with Lobster Baked Potato. Dessert: Fruit Plate and Orange Vacherin.
I would strongly recommend this restaurant. You can choose from a 3-course dinner or La Carte.

Dinner and service was great. Got there just after 5pm and they got us in right away. Finished with plenty of time to get to our play at 7pm.

Pre theatre dinner was perfect. We are tourists and I selected Oceana based on reviews and location. The seafood choices are plentiful. What is truly appreciated was the 4 choices of white fish. One in our party cannot have shellfish or salmon. Having 4 white seafood choices is wonderful. Salads and sides were also perfect. While it is more fine dining, it was not outrageously priced. You are guaranteed to get excellent food, service and ambiance. Jose our server was super friendly and professional. We never felt rushed and he timed the service well with plenty of time to get to theatre.

I made my reservation for dinner (to be directly before a Broadway show) for our 6 year anniversary almost 2 1/2 months before our date. The first thing out of the hostesses mouth was that they'd changed their dinner hours since our reservation. Not sure how that's my problem. Luckily they made an exception and allowed us to eat dinner.

Dinner was sub par and honestly most of the food I cook at home is better. The Halibut was over cooked and under seasoned. The dish needed more sauce to make it palpable. The Lobster in the noodles dish was also VERY over cooked and needed more to balance out the amount if pasta. If we hadn't gotten desert I would have likely rated this establishment a 2.

However, their deserts were absolutely fantastic and I would return here JUST for the desert. 10 out of 10, perfection!

If you're going somewhere for a good meal I'd go somewhere else. The wait staff was friendly enough but I think because we were 'out of time' they forgot about us a few times. They wanted money more than anything, charging $9 for a bottle of water.

Will not return.unless I'm crazing fantastic deserts!

Went over to Oceana for lunch. Made no reservation, but was able to be seated in the "cafe" area at a high top, which was perfect. Had a light & lovely lunch. The celery root soup with several yummy clams in the broth for a punch of ocean flavor, and the smoked salmon salad. My friend had the soft shell crab BLT and it was gone in a heartbeat.she said it was delicious, and she doesn't lie about these things. Friendly & efficient wait staff, we were in and out of there during a very busy lunch crowd window in about 1 hr & 15 mins. We didn't feel rushed, not stuffed. Next time, i will try a cocktail! Will def go back. It was the perfect bite for lunch with a couple friends.

Great experience! We did the tasting menu. Great adventure of dishes to try out (app, pasta, main, desert) each dish paired with a different wine! Only cons we had was the pasta could of been cooked just a tad longer and the food could of been a tad hotter (I need to see some steam) The service was top notch! Busser showed my gf where the restroom was then came back and folded her napkin immediately after; staff was super friendly!

Menu is predominantly seafood, not crowded at all on a Monday night. We went for the "tasting menu" which is really more of a prix fixe version where you pick off the menu but make 4 courses out of it. Walked out feeling nicely full. The halibut had a beautiful golden crust and a surprisingly moist interior, perfectly cooked. Dessert was (unsurprisingly) terrific, especially the hint of cinnamon in the whipped cream.

My children honored me with a celebration at Oceana for my 75th birthday.
I can not extoll the virtues of this fine restaurant enough.

They even heard that my granddaughter had a birthday, the day before, and surprised her with a cake, as well (no one asked them).
Everyone should have the outstanding experience of dining at Oceana.

Great atmosphere, excellent food, friendly and accommodating staff. Would highly recommend the halibut, salmon, and fruit sorbets.

One the best restaurant experiences I have had. I was in NYC on business and noticed the menu walking by. The staff was awesome and the décor was very sleek and modern. The restaurant had great ambiance and the food was awesome. I would defiantly recommend the cheese plate. The fish was fresh and well prepared. Just very nice people overall.

This place is fantastic! They have an incredible Monkfish dish right now. Idk if their menu changes or not, but it seems like they have a very experienced chef that could easily make that possible. The Ceviche and the Crab Cakes were also amazing. The price was a little bit steep, but not when you consider where it is located. The presentation and service were excellent. Most of the people were sitting outside, I'm assuming due to Covid mask restrictions. If you're looking for a fancy, high-end place to eat, this would be a good spot. The menu was relatively simple and it's definitely a seafood restaurant over everything else. They had some great desert options. The pictures show the Monkfish, the Halibut, the Crab Cakes, and the Brownie.

First time here. Can't say enough about this place. All the seafood tastes like they pulled it right out of the ocean, prepared and served it. Service is beyond, they are so friendly and professional.

Oceana is a upscale seafood restaurant located on 49th Street in midtown Manhattan, New York, just west of Rockefeller Center. It’s elegant, with great service and delicious foods. We had a very good time there for Thanksgiving dinner in 2019. Highly recommend it.
